Hello, I am running a ryzen 5 5600x with a msi 1050ti, and am getting constant lag spikes. Neither of them are overclocked at all. My os is Windows 11 21H2 64bit of course. My psu is a seasonic FOCUS PX-750 running at 750W. My motherboard is a gigabyte b550 gaming x (v.1 i think) bios version F14e. Haven't messed with any bios settings besides xmp. I also have 32gb of teamgroup t-force vulcan z ddr4 which is at 3200mhz, xmp is on didn't make a custom profile or anything just used the default one in the bios. I noticed this happening in DOOM 2016 and payday 2. It doesn't happen in league of legends though, haven't tried any other games. Here is a screenshot of doom showing the lagspike, it happens anywhere in the game even the menus. I also wasn't perfect at timing it but it seems its happening every 6 seconds.

I've noticed this in Dark Souls 3. What does it mean when lag spikes hit only in certain areas? When this happens it's like a slideshow for a few seconds. But if I walk slowly in-game, I can actually avoid it... Any thoughts?

I have a gaming pc and ps4 in my office. My wife and I play games together so I will grab my 2015 macbook pro and sit with her in the living room and stream the game to my laptop. Every 2 or 3 minutes the picture and sound will drop down to about 4 or 5 frames per second and glitch out like crazy for 5 seconds or so. I'll list the troubleshooting steps I have taken below. 1. Updated the router to the latest firmware. 2. Run a wifi analysis to be sure it's not congested (using 5Ghz about 7 ft from the router and I'm the only one on the channel) 3. Installed remote play and steam on another mobile device and streamed via wifi (with zero lag spikes). So clearly the problem is limited to the macbook's wifi. Is there anything about the way OSX handles wifi that would cause lag spikes like that? BTW both my PC and PS4 in the office are tethered with ethernet.

I made a post a few weeks ago asking why I keep rubber banding or lag spike whatever you want to call it. It happens to me all the time in Fortnite.. Only Fortnite... I have 100 down 10 up and get around 15-30 ping which is really good. But the guy who responded to my old post said it's because "the game is trying to match in your actual region but fails to do so??" Which at the time I thought kinda made sense but it's been ongoing for the past 2 weeks and I watch other streamers and the game doesn't rubber band at all for them. They have really low ping like me which makes sense but for me, it does it so much that idek wtf I'm looking at sometimes and feels super unplayable. I have a i5 8600k with a gtx 1070 so my Pc can easily run Fortnite no problems. If you guys have any ideas as to what it might be or how to reduce the rubber banding that would be really nice. Thank you.

Hi All I've been suffering from some issues for some time and I'm pretty desperate to get it fixed. I'm not the best at diagnosing issues but here's whats happened, what I've done to try and diagnose and some results in the hope someone might help! Specs for Overwatch (I travel a bit for work so needed a laptop): Alienware 17 R5 3440x1440 (75 hz) Max settings i9-8950HK GTX 1080 32GB DDR4-2666MHz The laptop started off for the first couple of months quite well but hit an issue where in Overwatch I'll get huge lag spikes and stuttering, my FPS would drop from (I think Ultra settings) from 90-110 FPS down to 25-50 FPS but with the stutter it was just unplayable for up to half a minute at a time and quite frequent. I seemed to notice this happening the day of the Hammond patch so attributed it to that and waited for a fix but nothing happened. I went on the forums where some people seemed to have the same issue with little resolution. I don't tend to play other games frequently but went on Wow and saw I was occasionally getting lag which got me thinking about testing it on my end, also as another computer playing Overwatch at the same time will be fine (low-mid end gaming desktop, 1060 6gb etc). So far I have: Repaired Overwatch - No difference Un/reinstalled Overwatch - No difference Run with lower settings - Going 1 tier down in settings gives me around 160-200 FPS but when the issue hits its exactly the same where I drop to exactly the same numbers, 25-50 fps Added/removed a lot of software and run only Overwatch to test for issues with other programs - No difference As part of this I disabled Nvidia's game optimiser and same for Razer Removed all overclocking - No difference Cleaned fans/raised laptop even further for uncompromised airflow - No difference Taken screenshots ingame with and without the issue (attached) - The things I noticed from the Alienware software are that: CPU In the screenshot is listed as really underclocked, I don't think its too representitive as I think it typically is around the same as the screenshot without lag but thats what it says. Temperature looks like its throttling a lot (but as above when disabling overclocking it makes no difference). CPU Voltage is roughly half. CPU usage is tripled. GPU Clock is lower. Temps seem around the same Voltage is slightly lower Usage is the one that seems to stand out to me. Using the 2nd highest tier of presets, the usage is roughly +/-10 the same as the FPS. When I'm at 25 FPS, I get 25% usage When I'm at 93 FPS, I get 97% usage Pretty much the same with all numbers. Run a pathping - Attached, asked to do so by Blizzard GM. They said I was getting packet loss in the 2nd hop and to contact ISP. Run a raceroute - Attached, asked to do so by Blizzard GM. They said I was getting packet loss in the 2nd hop and to contact ISP. Run WinMTR - Attached, asked to do so by Blizzard GM. They said I was getting packet loss in the 2nd hop and to contact ISP. I looked up packet loss and it seemed to correlate to certain other things we encounter. Sometimes apps load halfway or so, stop for a bit then load the rest almost instantly (very fast when working) On conference calls my voice apparently goes robotic for a bit then comes back Called ISP to run tests/send engineer - Engineer is coming round in next 3 days or so. Used wifi instead of ethernet - No difference Swapped ethernet with desktop that runs fine - No difference Used ethernet via Thunderbolt dock - No difference Used 4g iPhone network via cable to test - Granted its with the same ISP but I still had exactly the same issues. Contacted Dell/Alienware but got no response, will be hounding them tomorrow. So currently I don't really know whats up. I seem to have packet loss so even if the internet isn't the issue, I want it to be fixed. CPU/GPU stats seem a bit sketchy in areas but not sure if these are within normal limits (ignoring the seemingly glaring CPU clock in the screenshot). Any help on this would be really appreciated, willing to go to a lot of lengths to sort this so any further details you need just let me know! Many thanks! pathping.txt tracert.txt WinMTR.TXT

Hi all, I have recently built a new computer and all of the programs i have running have a very large lag spike when i open Chrome or any other application, what is this caused by? Also there is small micro lags even when playing a game without opening any other application. Before building the new computer there was never any problems like this to be seen. We have downloaded all the necessary drivers for the new hardware (Graphics card, CPU, motherboard, hard drive) and removed the old ones from the device manager. The boot drive didn't change if this has anything to do with it, (SSD) running Windows 10 home edition. We have also tried 32gb of tested ram in a different system with still no change to performance. Old Hardware: Motherboard: Asus Z170 Pro gaming Processor: I7-6700k (Air Cooled) Graphics card: GTX 1070 Ram: 16gb DDR4 2400mhz Power Supply: 750 Watt New Hardware: Motherboard: asrock x399 taichi Processor: AMD Threadripper 1950x (Water cooled) Graphics Card: GTX 1080 ti Hybrid Ram: 32gb DDR4 3200mhz Power Supply: 1250 Watt Thanks in advance

So I started playing nioh.. awesome game but I an getting a perfectly consistent lag spike that will be shown in a video. Settings do not effect it.... basically nothing effects it... it's there and the game is playable but just annoying. I tried driver updates, game reinstall... ect but it does nothing. Anyone seen this ? I'm not sure if it was there in my first 5 min testing the game out or if it came later but nothing was changed and it's only in this game so... help? Sound is not effected.

Hi, I experience a weird lag spike / package loss phenomen only while gaming. I'm connected to my router over LAN and set my PC as the 2nd highest priority in the network (1st is realtime, don't wanna use that). I can ping google.de /t without problems and have stable 17 ms avg ping without any loss at all. Sometimes it peaks to 80 but only one package every 3 minutes or so. But when I am ingame (Happened in Fortnite, Overwatch and Minecraft) I get weird lag spikes that won't let me move, or at least not show it, for a few seconds and sometimes Overwatch even disconnects me from the game just to load it up again a few seconds later. It happens 2-5 times per minute. Often (mainly in Overwatch) I have the feeling that my packages are still reaching the server without problems, but I can't receive the servers packages. I think this because I can still "move" with the lag spike and after it is over, I'm in the position I moved while having the spike. Fortnite didn't let me move at all and I've been the host of our minecraft server, my friends only said that it's near unplayable. This only occured recently, I didn't change firewall settings or anything. As said, the ping to google works just fine and I can stream / YT / video on whatever without problems. Our connection is a 50MBit down, 10MBit up DSL. Problems occured out of the blue.

I just brought my G751JY 2 days ago and started playing online games like lol and csgo. However, my ping is normally 30, but within a minute, it will go up to 150 very fast and then go down. I have updated the most recent driver and deleted GameFirst III. I also used regedit and added the "ScanWhenAssociated" thing. I think its a problem with my router settings. I use Actiontec V1000Hhttp://gyazo.com/1dd8e080e3da8a5b1e6830ec6673b6a5 These are my WLAN settings: http://gyazo.com/ba122bb397d7d5b489e742f4a48782db Also, should I put "Auto" for both 2.4GHz and 5.2GHz? I really need help to solve this... Can't believe I have to be so frustrated after spending over 2500$.... I brought a MSI gt72 a week ago, had the same lag problem. Then, I returned it and brought this, but same problem with the lag spikes again... My old laptop (Lenovo Y580) is playing csgo fine on wireless without any rubberbanding. Both MSI gt72 and Asus G751 have this rubberbanding problem. This problem only exists on wireless. Ethernet works fine. Thanks!
