Hey guys!I bought new 120GB Crucial BX500 ssd and 1TB Seagate ST1000MD010 hdd and I'm trying to install Windows 10 on the ssd I get this error message:"Windows couldn't install required files. File might be damaged, or it might be missing. Check if all necessary files are available, and start the install again. Error code 0x80070570."I've tried to install also on the hdd but i got the same error message. Is the error coming from my drives or is a file missing from the USB stick that I'm trying to download Windows from (it's Windows 10, full version that is original (came with activation key))What should I do?

Hi Friends. So I have an old laptop An HP 15-d027ca. Dinosaur. Only use it for youtube. Windows 10 is alright but only having 1Ghz is getting rough so gave linux a try. I can boot into Linux from a USB no problem. Runs perfectly with no issues. I wanted to run it alongside Win10 but was having issues so wiped the drive and am going to keep it strictly linux. I started with xubuntu but ran into an issue installing grub. Failed install. So tried lubuntu and it worked good enough so tried to install that. Here is a screenshot of whats happening I've tried manually creating partitions(found some people doing different partitions than others so tried both combinations). I let the installer wipe the drive and create the partitions its itself. Always get the same error. I went into the BIOS and played with every possible setting. Changing legacy support, secure boot, virtualization technology. Any possible thing until I exhausted all options. The BIOS is lacking in settings. I paid $250 for this laptop 6 years ago so it's minimal. There's tutorials about how to set it up to dual boot but now that I wiped the drive there's not much for this issue on a clean install. I tried 2 different USB's and 2 different iso's two times each one in case something was messed up when I created them but get this error every time. Does anyone know what this means? I'd be all for trying a different distro if this error would go away and it'd be easier. All I need is firefox, and the ability to use add ons with it. I'm just not sure if this will be a problem with all linux software or maybe just this one. For what I do I could just run it off a USB but I'd end up snapping it off one day while it's plugged in lol. Any help would be awesome.

Hi there my name is Dominik and this is my first time on the forums but I have been with Linus watching his YT for 2-3 years. About 6 months ago (I have very little money to replace any broken parts) I was changing my Arctic Freezer 32i air cooling solution to the Coolermaster Hyper 212 EVO as somebody told me the heatsink on the CM was better than the Freezer, I was also hearing a lot about static pressure fans and how they cool CPUs better than the standard fan on the CM and the usual case fan from for example Whothrudung Corp. So knowing how awesome Noctua coolers are but pricy I decided to swap out the Cm fan from the Hyper 212 EVO and use a Noctua NF F12 PWM fan by using Noctua's website to find the right fan for me. The 'teardown' went fine I had my brother come over to help me as I suffer from depression, agoraphobia and anxiety, the anxiety manifests so much when building my PC's but I have built my own rigs since I was 14. since I got ill 12 years ago, a total mental breakdown and also I broke the bottom of my back, sorry for the digression but its to establish context. I cleaned the old paste off which my brother had applied before ie when the Freezer was put on, I then took a look at the socket, I was using Arctic MX-4 thermal 'paste' and it was in the corner of the motherboard socket the corner where the dot or triangle is to help with alignment. the paste is not electically conductive so while not happy I was not too bothered it had been like that for some time so it would be probably fine, but my brother after being told off about it decided to pour Isopropyl alcohol (IPA) on the socket and using TP to try to clean it off. We all know that toilet paper, TP whatever is locally named is far from lint-free so my socket corner had a sh*t load of tp soaked in IPA and MX-4 in/on the pins, at this point I am having the largest panic attack I have had in years, I can't RMA a board out of warranty (just) looking like that, I slam down on my bed and end up passing out as I took maybe an extra benzo to stop the attack and calm me down. Then when I wake... Ben my brother has used metal tweezers to pull the TP off the pins bringing about 4 or 5 pins with them he then decided to "burn off the TP using the CPU with just the heatsink, gave p and just screwed it all up (literally and actually reassembling it. I try to get it topost but Iget Dr Debug codes for memmory errors, cpu erors graphcic card you name it, I was ot rishing reseating the cpu again possable destroying more pins so I work methodically through the codes and I get a post after moving the ram from banls A1, A2 to B1, B2 no graphics card using on chip graphics, my brother takes the 1060 to test in his 'PC' which turns out to mean iMac Pro (trash can design) he bought on eBay but did not mention, previously he was running a Supermicro server with some low power chip in it, which ran WoW but not much all else. The card comes back as working so I plug the old beggar into the x16 slot and poof won't post, I reseat the card and after about three restarts it posts but I can not see anything the monitor reports no signal my monitor has two inputs HDMI and the trusty DVI-D I have been using since it came on the scene, same Belkin cable so next logical step card works outputs to according to good ole bro HDMI, DVI and all 3 of the DP great, I wish I had a DP monitor no joy with HDMI so I move the card down to the next slot I assume its X16 being a Z chipset it should be 16, 16, 8 right? well, the EFI reports it with card in as 16x or 8x depending on the time of day (seriously) and the Nvidia info thing I found says it is only running at 8X maybe the board is 16,16,8 but the CPU cant service all lanes because of the TP/MX-4/droken and I then find out some pins got bent but he used the metal ruler to straighten them... GG Ben, GG. so after reading this wall of text, I am asking, I have a 6700K Intel chip that's retail with 3 year warranty still in warranty too, the Z170 ASRock Extreme 6 is in my opinion FUBAR though not ideal usable to somewhat degree gaming but judging benchmarks of the gear I have with what it would run even with an Intel XMP2 mild OC it roughly half what it should be or more again depending on the time of day. I know at 8X I should just about be at max saturation of the PCI-E x3 lines for that expansion port but it's not always so. Given the 6700K, GTX1060 OC and the G.Skill 16Gb dual channel ram is fine should I burn the Z170 board and replace it with a Z270 which are becoming rare and might be gone by the time I can replace it (5-6 Months) OR Try and Sell the 6700K on eBay and get a 8th Gen Chip for roughly the same cost and buy a Z370 baring in mind that Z370s are likely to be around in that 5-6 months I need to save up the £150-£200 I would need to replace the board and put a single radiator AIO water cooler for the CPU to prevent this happening again and give me a better solution as the height of the Noctua heatsink is too high for my case as its like the cheapest case I could find. OR eBay 6700K for enough for the same as above but get a better case perhaps one with tempered glass and enough drive bays for my expanding media I run a Plex media server on this PC for the kids and me and the Mrs of course, get a dual fan radiator and a new case I like the Fractal Design Define R6 I like Corsair Carbide R275 also and its cheaper but I prefer the design of the Fractal. but replacing the cooling solution which is a bit of a Frankenstein's Monster and the case, the loss from selling fees on eBay and PayPal fees the fact that I would not have a complete PC for 5-6 months, meh USB enclosure for Media drives and run Plex Server from a 2013 APU A8 Samsung laptop over ethernet with the HDDs connected to a 4way USB 3 HUB would be ok I guess for plex? OR something else? sorry for such a long post but I like writing it calms me I am not a writer just see by my punctuation and grammar but hey it works for me and takes up time using my brain which makes me feel just that little bit better, shame I don't live in one of the US states that herbal remedies are legalized as I responded well to some a tried in a cake a friend I used to know made for me which has such herb in but of course its not legalised here, (mods sorry is this not allowed but I just get in the flow and I can't seem to stop talking or this case typing. Howdy! So I am building my first PC (specs below) and I am having issues installing my graphics card. I have downloaded the driver from Nvidia, uninstalled the integrated graphics, set the BIOS to only read from the PCI-e slot that card is installed, and choose 'custom' install wherein I only chose to install the graphics driver. Despite this, whenever I attempt to install the driver, the process gets about one quarter of the way through before the screen goes black and I can hear the card turn off, followed by the entire PC restarting. The one time it made it past that point the program informed me that the graphics driver failed to install. I am not sure what to do from here or what is the issue. Anything will be helpful, even if it means my card is dead. Mobo: Asus H97M-E CPU: Intel Core i5 4460 RAM: PNY Anarchy 8GB (2x4GB) 1600 MHz PSU: EVGA 500W GPU: EVGA GeForce GTX 670 Everything was new, except the GPU which was off craigslist. I realize that buying it used could be the issue, but who isn't trying to save a few bucks?
