advices Opinions and Thoughts on First PC Build
Kilo One 123 posted a topic in New Builds and Planning
Hey guys I'm building my very first gaming PC. This is what I have: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Hmt2f8 The purpose of this build is for playing at 1080p, 60fps, ultra-high settings. I wanna it to last long for around 5 to 6 years, and this also means that I don't want to upgrade it during that time. I'm not gonna play demanding games like The Witcher 3 or Crysis 3 I do prefer first first person shooter rather than MMORPG Some games that I will use it for are: GTA 5, Battlefield 1, Battlefield 4, COD Black Ops 3, Dark Souls, War Thunder, COD 4 Remastered ... Please let me know what do you think and what would you change. -
Here's this video by Computing Forever on YouTube. He talks about the current rise with Steve Jobs, to the fall of Apple with Tim Cook. Personally, I think he really hit the nail on the head, but I would like to hear y'alls opinions on this. Sorry, I put it here in general discussion, didn't know if it went here or in Tech News.

Just an idea I had for a project maybe, if I could afford it. If there was a way to make it work, would you guys use a desk that has a built in tilt function similar to an up-desk? Obviously there would have to be some part that stays level, but I wouldn't mind being able to recline in my desk and have everything match it.
-
It's a simple question: I recently bought and built an entirely new system and despite the fact that I'm very much enjoying the performance and looks of it, there are some parts I'm not 100% convinced of/ regret buying. My budget wasn't by any means what I would consider low but it certainly wasn't as high as I would have liked it to be, so I had to make some small compromises here and there. Anyway that's enough about that intro. The question is how do you manage your 'buyers anxiety' when there are so many good products out there and tech advances so rapidly? One day your rig is amazing but then X product launches and you desperately need to have it. Since I don't have a large amount of cash, that helps a bit (lol). But seriously tho... How do you guys approach the rapid improvements and innovations that are characteristic of the tech industry? How do you know what to buy and what not to buy when new and tempting products are always being released all the time? How do you guys stay happy with what you got when one day you have everything you wanted and the next day some company releases something that you (obviously) don't have because it didn't exist and, more importantly, you didn't know you wanted but now do you! (If that makes any sense).

Only one unique compression step. Inflow and out flow at the same one system, This invention by its nature a logic and simple conception in the dynamics flow mechanics area. The invention is a wing made of one piece in a rotating motion, contained in a pair cavity system connected by implocavity, and interacting dynamically with a flow, that passes internally "Imploded" through its simple mechanism. This flow can be gas (air) or liquid (water). And have two different applications, in two different form-function; this one can be received (using the dynamic flow passage, as a receiver). An example cut be, as a Bike needs a chain to work from motor to wheel. And for the Imploturbocompressor application, cut be as; in a circumstance at the engine, as an A-activate flow, and with a a tube flow conduit going to the wheel as a B-receiving-flow the work use. To see a Imploturbocompressor animation, is posible on a simple way, just to check the Hurricane Satellite view, and is the same implo inflow way nature. Making a metaphoric comparison with the intention to expose it more clearly for a better comprehension of this innovative technical detail, it would be similar to the trajectory and motion of a dynamic flow compared with a rope (extended) that passes through the system would have now a knot (without obstructing the flow). Its prudent to mention that the curves and the inclinations of the blades of a rotating wing made of this invention, is conferred by its shape and function a structural rigidity allowing it to conduct and alter appropriately the dynamic flow passing through its system.

As we're rounding out the year of '4K' or 2015 (take your pick), we've seen some impressive pieces of tech. The poll comprises of devices that have genuinely impressed the tech community, (no one outside the tech community really pays attention to these things). The list I've made is completely subjective, but I think we can agree on most of them. If yours isn't on the list, leave a comment and tell us what it is.

Hello dear techfriends, just because I'm interested. What would you want to see in a Notebook in 2017, realistically of course. Either an Ultrabook or more of a Gaming or Workstation? Touchscreen or not? 8k resolution or more energy efficient screens with less dpi? Whatever you think! Greetings! DJS

Your Move Swiss.. Sony unveiled it's plans to produce a unique product into it's company next year , The concept was rumored via a report from bloomberg. According to a report Sony is said to be working on a watch made out of electronic e-paper. The un-named watch "will be made from a patented material that allows the entire surface area to function as a display and change its appearance", The Company is currently going through a tough financial situation read about it here: Sony's New Plan Cuts Back on TVs and Smartphones for 2015 Surprisingly there's a weird back story to this, The Company introduced Seed Acceleration Program, which was set up earlier this year, allows employees to pitch funding within or outside the company, Sony received 187 applications during the first round in June, and 80 advanced to the next stage, as per an internal document reviewed by bloomberg. Kazuo Hirai, The division is intended to spur innovation inside Sony, which makes acclaimed devices in many categories The division is intended to churn out high-quality but completely crazy devices..The project is apparently the first to come out of a new innovation center set up by Sony CEO Kaz Hirai e-paper watch is said to be an exciting device. It might not look similar to the existing Pebble, a smart watch that uses an e-ink display. e-paper example Besides the e-paper watch, the group is developing technology building blocks designed to help professionals and amateurs rapidly create prototypes of new products The Japanese electronics company Sony has been reeling under pressure to come up with something new and completely out-of-the box for quite some time. Back in September, at this year's IFA tech show, Sony showcased its latest Android Wear watch. However, it had met with severe poor ratings from the mainstream media. Pretty cool innovative product i think & has a huge pottential to the market, but will it be able to stand against the current & upcoming smartwatch contenders? no one knows..Anyways, they are planning to release the watch around next year end or so. What are your thoughts on this? Please do leave a comment or rant down belooooooooww.. Let's play a game.. PuzzlePhone is a new smartphone that boasts similar capabilities of googles Project Ara is from a company called Circular Devices , Circular devices is a Finnish startup company is aiming to go against Google modular phone, Following in the footsteps of Google's Project Ara modular smartphone experiment , it has come up with a somewhat similar modular phones that can be disassembled & re assembled quite easily ,The design is open, and runs a forked version of Android. Unlike project Ara ,This one has a lot of difference design wise & the components are pretty much spaced into sizable amount pretty much less than what Google Ara has & basically the design is built around three modules: The spine, the heart, and the brain. Spine Basically is the central piece of hardware that includes physical buttons, the LCD monitor, speakers, and a microphone. The Heart Heart is basically the battery with some additional electronics. The Brain Brain contains the key processor guts as well as the camera. the PuzzlePhone would also allow its owners to customize their phone depending on what they need ,users would be able to swap out an aging processor or battery without sacrificing a perfectly good display and set of speakers, It's a very ambitious project that aims to make the mobile industry more sustainable over the long term. Whether it pans out successfully will depend on our appetite for modularity and upgradeability in devices over more superficial factors like thinness. Circular device is formally founded in September 2014 based in Espoo where it has been working on the project since 2013 and is approaching the stage where it can produce working prototypes They plan to release the first Puzzlephone at a mid-range price in the second half of 2015 it's Focusing on setting open source standards & the company would use a forked version of Google's Android OS to start with Circular Devices optimistically hopes to ship product in 2015. The project i s quite promising , but since it doesn't have anywhere near the resources such as Google has ,it might be a fail , But could get boosted up alongside Googles Ara's popularity, Designers say it could last up to 10 years.given that you replace components as they start to fail on you What are your thoughts on this? Post your comments & rants on this down belooooooooooww... Link: http://www.puzzlephone.com/ News link: http://www.theverge.com/2014/12/1/7312763/puzzlephone-modular-cellphone-concept

Mind-controlled prosthetic arm from Segway inventor gets FDA approval Ever sense i first watched Star Wars and I-Robot i always kind of wanted to be the guy that makes the first robotic Arm that can "feel" or be the most true to life limb......looks like the guy that beat me to it is getting approval from the FDA. This guy, Dean Kamen, is the inventor behind the Segway (if you don't know what that is look it up) and the mind-controlled prosthetic limb that he has developed is not the first of its kind BUT it is the first one to get approval from the FDA. The arm "is controlled by electromyogram electrodes placed on the remaining portion of the human arm. Those sensors pick up electric signals from muscle movements in the upper arm, and a computer in the robotic arm can tell what type of maneuver the user wants to make". This isn't necessarily mind control its just sensitive to muscle movement which it interprets so you don't have to worry about someone hacking into your fake arms signal and controlling your mind. Apparently the arm is so sensitive to the muscle movements that the people "could use zippers and keys, and — thanks to vibration feedback at the base of the prosthetic — they could pick up objects like grapes and eggs without crushing them." Hopefully it wont cost an...........arm and a leg (HAHA YEAAAAAH!!!)......to buy one of these because this is really cool.
