  1. High all, I've got a buddy with this pc that I am trying to help identify an upgrade path for. I can't seem to find anything on this pc. The things I know are it is a prebuilt from ibuypower sometime in 2017 is was apparently classified as the "Gamer Paladin" package (including an i7-7700k, asus gtx 1070, asus prime z270-k). The biggest thing I am trying to figure out is the max card length for a GPU card. Anything I look up on google or archived sites doesn't show anything for this package or this case. I tried looking up Rosewill or Thermaltake cases with similar color schemes but nothing. Any help would be much appreciated!
  2. I decided I am going to buy a custom Prebuilt from iBuypower. My original budget dropped to about 2300 thanks to a life curve ball. 4. I have a fun story about how I lost a custom PC build because I literally couldn't get ahold of ibuypower to verify my address. Full disclosure: I know they're dealing with a lot at their office and it's just a PC, but it's too wild of a story not to share, so buckle in. Recently I've finally accumulated enough savings to get a PC. I've never had a really good computer to do work on (I'm a graphic designer/multimedia artist) and I finally had the opportunity. My roommate helped me build a custom PC on ibuypower, and I was able to get the elusive 3070 graphics card. My roommate and I were going to swap graphics cards after the PC arrived because it wasn't compatible with my Cintiq, and he wanted to build a new computer, it was the perfect trade. The order went through, everything was grand. The next day, I get an email saying I needed to call to verify my address since I used a card for purchase (See first image "ibuypower1") There is no other way to verify my address except by calling, remember that. I spend the next several days attempting to call all 4 of their customer service lines, as well as leaving emails with customer service. Every single one of their phone lines has a busy signal for days, never even heard an auto voice or anything. I find their Twitter page, find out they've set up a discord while trying to improve their CS and dealing with COVID. Lit, I can totally respect that. I get on the discord, voice my issue, and get several responses saying "leave a voicemail after hours when the phones work, they'll receive your voicemail and verify your address" Neat, I do that. I go on to leave 3 voicemails over the next couple of days. a few days later, I get another email (see image "ibuypower3"), saying my order is getting cancelled. I go into FULL super saiyan mode, basically calling the phone lines one busy signal after the other, every single phone number they have that I can find, I message their social media, discord, I hear NOTHING. That same day, I look back at my emails and realize their office is 20 minutes rom my workplace. I really didn't want to do this, but I had no other real choice. I showed up AT THEIR GATE and literally spoke to someone on the call box. They took my name, phone, order number and email, and said someone would get back to me before EOD (spoiler alert: it didn't happen XD). Finally, after this whole ordeal going on for a week, I was finally able to get ahold of customer service when I called after hours. It was a total fluke that I was able to be put through. Unfortunately the order had been cancelled and my money would be refunded in the next few days and I'd have to order the PC all over again. Which would've been great, if not for while all of this was happening, the 3070 graphics card I needed to keep the deal with my roommate had sold out. RIP. Moral of the story: use Paypal on ibuypower or you'll lose your order. This was a bizarre ride and I hope they recover soon, but damn. What a meme. XD TL;DR: I did a bunch of wild stuff to verify my address with ibuypower for a week and a half and still couldn't get a response. They cancelled my order, and my 3070 graphics card was lost with it.
  5. Hi, I recently bought an IBUYPOWER Slate MR and was hoping to upgrade the cooling form an air cooler to a Corsair 360mm AIO. I don't know anything about upgrading pcs so I'm hoping to get help here. I'll link the case and AIO I'm looking at. 360mm Cooler IBUYPOWER PC
  6. Quick specs: Mobo MSI Z390A- Pro Inet I7 9700K 3.60 Ghz ADATA RAM 16 Gbs SSD for footing AIO don't who the manufacturer is because iBuypower put their logo and it doesn't tell anything else on it More info on the attached image. So I bought a rig from iBuyPower a couple of years back and it was running great till this week. I'm a VFX artist & video editor so i do have CPU intensive work load. My CPU Cores are basically cooking themselves, and it's not just one, all of them. I'll Attach an image with computer info and specs. no weird sounds or blue screens, or even crashes it just thermal throttles and the performance goes out the window. this is right off the bat after booting up even after letting it cool down all night as the MSI center image displays the socket is still a bit hot but way cooler that the cores on chip. I love computers but when it comes to assembling one and of course maintenance I'm out of scope. so please if anyone has a great idea of how to fix this that would be great. I moved to Mexico so sending it over for RMA or anything of the sort would be a nightmare and i think I'm out warranty already. I moved the computer to a different power outlet and I'm using a PSU that should handle my workload. Clean and reattach fans to the chasis Artic with silver compound thermal paste reapplied AIO sounds like its working but the air coming out the exhaust is still fresh and not hot so i think it could be the pump but the socket being cooler than cores makes me doubt myself. light on the pump turns and on and displays animations but i have no way of getting a read on the pump. The AIO connect directly to the power supply so i switched it to a different outlet just in case that one was defective. I tried under volting the cores but looks like AI on the software is already downing to avoid getting it hotter and if add voltage it just shuts down. So i just reset everything back defaults and let the software do it's thing. clear my temp files and scan for viruses fo a good measure. Vacuum the chasis Mobo Bios was updated. I'll get a new pump but I'm hoping that all i have to do before I call this CPU unusable. if anyone had a similar hiccup or any idea i would appreciate the help. Thanks in advance
  7. This is my second post but basically I am asking for some opinions on a computer I might help my brother purchase. He will mostly just be recording Minecraft videos in 1080p and playing fortnite, along with possibly capture card recording Xbox gameplay. Any opinions are welcome, thanks.
  8. Budget (including currency): Up to $4,000. Country: USA Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Modern games, shooters, FPS, role-play, whatever (Cyberpunk, Crysis x, Arma, Division, Sniper, Batman...) Also work - primarily AutoCAD/BricsCAD (2D only). Monitors: Presently using a Samsung 55" 4k TV. I'm not certain if it supports 60hz @ 4k - it may only do 30hz. Someday I'll look to upgrade this but it looks great now. I presently run my desktop at 1080p as things are too small at 4k resolution (I sit about 8' from the screen). But for gaming I want the highest the system will provide. Peripherals: Already have my keyboard & trackball. My SoundBlaster G6 drives the headset. Why are you upgrading? Presently using a MSI GT70 for my primary machine - and even with a 980M video upgrade it's showing limitations for current gaming. I've built my own PC's for years but given the current market it seems buying assembled is cheaper. I've also never done watercooling. I was considering Xidax but they seem a little limited in their offerings at least today. IBuyPower looks like a reasonable option though I'm open to alternatives. Are these components balanced for performance - or am I either limiting the system with a critical item or spending money on a part that will never be used? My thoughts - case seems good quality for price based on what I've heard - no experience. Processor - 5900X is supposed to be better than 5950X for gaming. MB - here's where I have the least comfort. Would a B550, like a Tomahawk, be better? Is this particular board good? I don't *think* I need Dark Hero stuff. Memory - looks like the best IBuyPower has available. Power Supply - this one *looks* good but should I go with an alternate like the Seasonic? CPU Cooler - I believe this model is well reviewed online. Any reason to spend more? It's cheap enough that I don't think going smaller is appropriate unless there's a reliability/leak issue. Primary Storage - I *was* interested in the WD Black SN750 2TB but IBuyPower isn't listing it anymore. Then again - is this a speed that I won't use? Sound - here's a slight side question. Can I have 5.1 audio encoded and played through the HDMI or DisplayPort of the video card? I don't mean game generated 5.1 - I mean previously encoded movies that need Dolby processing (which the Realtek audio supports) decoded/encoded and sent over the HDMI to be played by my receiver as Dolby or DTS instead of just 2-channel? With my laptop that wasn't an option - I didn't know if current products provide for a connection between the soundcard/onboard audio and the video card. 9. Just bought a new prebuild from Ibuypower, and it worked out of the box. But after a couple hours the screens flashed green, and the monitors lost connection to the PC. I pulled the GPU out and put it back in, made sure drivers where up to date, and noticed when the PC is shaken the screen flashes. Before I noticed the screen flash, the mouse was stuttering every few seconds, and it stuttered in a game as well. Did I put it in wrong, or is it most likely taken some shipping damage, or just faulty?
  10. I bought a computer from Ibuypower on 04-14-2021. I still don't have a working computer, and it doesn't look like I'll have one this month. I figured I'd share the story, since if I had read this story on here before purchasing, I wouldn't have done it and would have been better off. Sorry in advance for the long story, hopefully someone finds it useful. I was looking into building a pc myself for the first time, after some research I found due to the price of GPUs being so high, I was looking at saving at least $500 getting a prebuilt with the same card I wanted. So I got the pre-built. The computer arrived about a month and a half later. After unboxing and setting up I turned it on. Fans lit up and looked cool, but my monitor stayed black. It wouldn't post. Sad but it happens, just bad luck I suppose. Ibuypower says they test the computers thoroughly before shipping, and I think that's probably true. It likely got damaged during shipping. As a former FedEx employee, I can tell you with certainty that every computer sent through them has a really rough ride. I've seen more computers than I can count fall off belts, get crushed by larger boxes, getting thrown across the building by disgruntled employees, and the containers they are put in get banged around like you wouldn't believe. I'm impressed that any computers actually still work after being delivered. Ibuypower uses one of the slowest shipping options available, as most prebuilt companies will since it's cheaper. However you get what you pay for. The longer a box stays in the system, the more times it's handled, stacked, dropped, getting wet, mis-sorted, and likely damaged. It's not just FedEx, UPS has the same problems, and most of the USPS goes through FedEx or other airlines anyway. So it's the same thing there. For that reason alone a prebuilt isn't the best option. I've called Ibuypower tech support a number of times, and I've never had them pick up within an hour. (credit where it's due the regular customer service line is faster) First time I called I was on hold for 2 and a half hours. Not particularly great customer service from that alone, maybe they are understaffed. Anyway, after going through their troubleshooting guide video while on hold I reseated the ram, tested it, reseated the gpu, tested it, and removed the cmos battery and replaced per their recommendation, nothing worked. When they finally picked up I told them what was going on and they offered to replace the GPU. I said sure. I sent mine back, got the new one, and installed it. Still wouldn't work. After calling again and waiting again, we did some trouble shooting and managed to get the bios open, which was an improvement. It still wasn't working though, so tech support recommended re-installing windows. It was going to take a while to download on my old laptop, so we hung up. I re-installed a couple times with no luck, windows still wouldn't run. I called back again, and they eventually offered to replace the hard drive. I sent the hard drive back, got a new one, installed it, re-installed windows. Still didn't work. All that takes a long time, weeks for things to be shipped and processed every time. I called again the day after replacing the hard drive and told them I wanted them to take the whole thing back to fix it. On 7-13-2021 I sent it back. Today I got an email that they had received the computer but apparently they found a bug in the box... they included a picture which showed a bug on a piece of foam. I can assure you there were no bugs in the box when it left, my place is pretty clean, and I had just had the case open when I boxed it up. I can also assure you that there are a lot of bugs in FedEx warehouses, it's obvious where it came from. Here's what they emailed me. "This email is to inform you that your RMA for PC system was received, unfortunately we are unable to process it in its current condition. The box was opened and we discovered the system had bugs (roaches). Due to our return policy, we cannot process it as received. The system will be returned back to you. However, you can still reship it to us but you would need to thoroughly clean the unit of any bugs and we would be happy to assist in the return. The same RMA number will still be eligible, but you will be responsible for shipping. If you have any questions or concerns you can reply to this email directly." I replied to that email and then called to ask them not to send it back. Maybe I'm missing something, but I don't understand why that's my responsibly, or why they can't throw the bug away and just fix it. I asked for a return since this is taking way to long. They told me it's outside the return window and they will not refund me. Again, maybe I'm missing something. Isn't the return window meant so if a customer turns on the computer and isn't happy with the performance, or changes their mind for whatever reason they can still return it. I didn't get that return window, I've never been able to use the computer and see how it ran. Now I don't have a computer or my money, and won't see either any time soon. With the benefit of hindsight I've learned a couple things. 1, Just don't buy a pre-built. I've re-assembled a large portion of the computer during troubleshooting at this point, really there isn't much left to learn to do. I've worked on my own computer before doing upgrades, never broke anything and it worked fine after. Only thing I've never done is install a cpu, looks pretty straight forward to me. If in doubt there's youtube videos on everything, like LTT of coarse which I've learned a lot from. Even if I do break something while building myself, I can learn from it and be able to replace the parts myself in a timely manner. 2. Computers are obviously rather delicate, and shipping a fully built pc with all the parts free to rattle around is just an inherently bad idea. Even with the foam they put in to support the gpu, after looking in the top of the case, it's obvious it doesn't do as much as you'd think. 3. If your prebuilt doesn't work on arrival, strongly consider just getting your money back while you still can, and just buy another one, or be smart and build yourself. Even if it's a simple fix. Better than waiting months and no longer having the option to return. 4. Ibuypower customer service isn't very good. Even if it's just bad luck the pc didn't work, and even worse luck that the problem wasn't the gpu or hard drive. They still take forever to answer the phone, their return policy doesn't cover you if your pc doesn't work and takes them months to fix. I'm sure they have sold plenty of computers that worked great, but when something goes wrong and you need help, they aren't very pleasant to deal with. I hope this is helpful to someone. Not saying there is anything wrong with the people at Ibuypower, I'm sure they tried. There are a lot of logistical nightmares involved with selling shipped pre-builds, and in this case Ibuypower did not overcome the challenges.

  12. Budget (including currency): around 1000-1300 Euros Country: Germany Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Mostly gaming, webbrowing and some programming but i don't really need much for that (java, C, etc) Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): I just need the PC, I already have a monitor, keyboard, headset and mouse. Currently I'm using a laptop (i7 6700HQ, 970m gpu and 16gb ram) not very good anymore it's like 5-6 years old but it gets the job mostly done...it's not so terrible but I would really want an upgrade (also I'd like to give this laptop to my little brother who currently has no pc so he could play some games or we could play together). Also I already have a 500gb ssd and 1 Tb hdd so I don't need storage. So I've been waiting for a pretty long time to build a new pc and everything is out of stock... Before the new 30 series from nvidia launched the parts I wanted had better prices and were in stock... For examply a ryzen 5 3600 was only 180 euros and now IF it's in stock it sells for 220...the cases i wanted are mostly out of stock and 20 or 30 euros more expensive...and the worst is the gpu. I legit can't find a single gpu whatsoever anywhere. If they are in stock they sell for more than double msrp (for examply a 3060ti would cost 900 euros). However It seems that Ibuypower has gpu's in stock so I could get a ryzen 5 3600, 16gb 3600Mhz ram, 3060ti, 700W bequiet PSU (unfortunately only 80+ bronze) and asRock mobo b450 a pro or something. I remember linus did a secret shopper video and Ibuypower came on top they seem pretty good... The prebuild would cost me 1092 euros and I could also swap some parts on my own. The only things I don't like are the mobo (I would have preferred a b550 from gigabyte or msi or TUF idk) and a 80+ gold PSU. But apart from that the prebuild seems ok... So my question is: should I buy this prebuild for 1100 euros (maybe swap some parts later like mobo and psu...maybe add a different cpu cooler bc I chose the stock cooler to have a cheaper price, then again it's only a r5 3600 so it should be fine) OR wait who knows how many months and build my own pc ?

  16. Hello. I'm trying to buy a pc and finally play something that isn't from 10 years ago. I found this Pre-built from IBuyPower: https://www.amazon.com/iBUYPOWER-AM002i-Desktop-Gaming-PC/dp/B01N2RLS05/ref=dp_ob_title_ce?th=1 Is this a good pc? I suspect that the Power Supply and the Cooler are bad since they don't talk about it. Thanks for the help, and sorry for any spelling mistake!
  17. Hey community, Ill keep it short and sweet. I have an iBUYPOWER AM720FX Prebuilt Gaming Desktop, containing a 126W/115V power supply and a Nvidia GT730. Could I put a 1050Ti into this rig without having to worry about power issues? Sorry I can't spec the motherboard, I've lost the documentation on the computer and I don't know what kind of MOBO it is Here are some other specs. GPU: GeForce GT 730, 2GB CPU: AMD Fx-4300 Quad Core Processor RAM: 8GB DDR3
  18. Here is a question that some people will find useful. Should you buy a iBuyPower Rig, or a OriginPC? Both brands are popular and make great rigs. But which one is better?
  19. Based off of the title you most likely know what this post is going to be about. Basically I need a new PC. Almost everything in my previous Alienware PC broke. It was no longer under Alienwares warranty but luckily my credit card company offers an extended warranty. If things go properly with the credit card company I should be getting a check of $750-$900 (the price I bought it for) in the mail. Either way I might even make a profit if I'm able to sell the few working parts. If the claim goes through (fingers crossed) I want to stick away from Alienware and maybe even build custom. My friend recently bought an IBuyPower and it's been working well for him. I looked at the website expecting the prices would be far too high but they weren't. I came up with this PC build: Processor: Intel i5-7600k 4 core 3.8GHz GPU: Asus GTX 1070 OC edition RAM: 16GB DDR4-3000 ADATA XPG Z1 Motherboard: ASRock Z270M-ITX/AC PSU: 700 Watt Standard 80 plus bronze Primary Hard drive: 240GB ADATA SP550 SSD with a READ of 560 MB/s and WRITE of 510 MB/s Secondary Hard drive: 1TB HHD with 32MB of Cache, 7200 RPM and 6.0Gb/s Price: $1183 Has anyone had any personal experience with IBuyPower or have any input. For this price I don't even know whether it's a good idea to make one myself or not. After googling a lot on this topic I found that most of the issues occurred when they received the PC for the first time. Any help is appreciated, thanks.

  21. I recently purchased an Ibuypower desktop. I would like to change the colors or turn off the CPU cooler. I have the "ibuypower 120mm addressable RGB liquid cooling system". I'm new to pc's so this could be a fairly easy fix, I could just be missing something. I've looked everywhere to install drivers and programs, but no luck. If anyone has any tips or information on how I can change the colors or turn the RGB off it would be greatly appreciated.
  22. I am looking for the best prebuilt desktop around the $2,000 range. I built my last system and was thinking about building this one but the convince of a prebuilt might be better. I will end up putting my own liquid cooling system in it down the line and would like something I can overclock as well. Looking to do it within the next month or so.
  23. Hey everyone, I purchased a used iBuyPower Revolt 2 case. Some guy gutted the thing, did a case swap and sold me the case alone. Little to my knowledge, I failed to realize iBuypower has a special controller for the built in LED strips. The LED strips seem to connect via a black 3 pin fan header. I have an Asrock Z390 Phantom Gaming itx motherboard which is on iBuyPower’s list of supported boards if you customize the Revolt 2 upon purchase so I imagine it is compatible. This MOBO has an ARGB header and a 4 pin RGB LED header. How to I connect the strip to the MOBO? I can provide pics later but I hope I have been descriptive enough.
  24. Backstory first, Late April, early May, my wife and i were moving in together. she had always wanted a real gaming pc, but crypto-mining had kinda killed the market for buying parts (as all of your probably already know) IBP was doing a cinco de mayo sale, and at the time, it did actually save a bit to do it that way...product ships, cable management is crap, power plugged into the cpu fan (tested IBP says...suuuure) don't really care, ive built computers for about 12 years, it didnt take more than a day to unfuck the machine, didnt even have to replace any parts. Annoyed, but no more problems... or so i thought... Fast forward to this week, wife's ram has always been a bottleneck, had to skimp and only get 16GB because she wanted her RGB...while i was looking around for replacements, had to check her ram to get a close match... TURNS OUT, iBuyPower had decided to put half of a 4x8 module in her machine instead of spending the extra money to get her a full 2x8...testing with my ram, her computer doesn't post, because the gimped 4x8 module WONT RUN with 2 more ram modules unless they are the other half of the 4x8... IBP is, of course, silent on the issue, and calling their tech support this week, they didn't see a problem, because they "never said the ram could be upgraded" if it wasnt clear from linus' last video, DON'T GET IBUYPOWER... if anyone knows how to fix this issue, i'd love any suggestions, because right now, im just angry and am probably missing an obvious solution
