Hi guys, I am in need of some wisdom from you guys to decide what should I buy? A gtx 1660 super 6gb or a 1650 super 4gb combined with a i7-4770 (non K) and 16GB of RAM. I can't upgrade my CPU so I need to choose between those two but I am concerned that if I buy a 1660 super it will bottleneck my CPU (or will it? I seriously don't know and just looked on a bottleneck calculator website) but I REALLY like the idea of having Extra V-RAM then 1650 super with which I know it won't bottleneck but will the 4GB of V-RAM will be sufficient enough to some play AAA games (Mostly games like resident evil games, Rockstar current and future games when ever they come and Microsoft flight simulator 2020) for maybe the upcoming year's? So what do you guys think what should I go for so that for the next 5 or 6 year (exaggerating the amount of time here a bit) and i am seriously not concerned with playing games on its highest setting or anything I just want to have it on a playable setting keeping that in mind which option will be best for me and I have 450w thermaltake PSU don't know it's rating?

Hello, so I am very new to overclocking and I want some help. I know you can't really overclock an i7-4770 non-K but I really want to get it to max turbo(3.9) or at least 3.7/3.8 when Gaming or doing something that needs the power. I have an Asus H81-GAMER motherboard, 16GB ram DDR3 that I put at 1.25V and the i7, also I run it on stock cooler, but today I ordered another cooler that will come on like Tuesday/Wednesday. With the settings on Auto it runs at 80-85° max in games, but I would like it to run cooler but also at 3.7-3.9 if it's achieveable. My PSU is a BeQuiet 500W 80+Gold unit PurePower 11 I think, almost forgot to say. So in Bios I know about the voltage setting but I don't really understand the Offset and VCCIN and stuff like that. Also, sometimes my PC just restarts, I mean it like powers off I think and then restarts. If someone has the time please write me the settings I need to use in order to achieve my goals. Much love

I was just wondering why two of the same model cpu have different electrical components on it like these two i7-4770's for example: The top one says Malay, the bottom one says Costa Rica. Thanks for any help.

So I've had this reoccurring problem (as in multiple months, if not a year by now) where my PC will randomly hiccup/freeze up, and/or black screen (no video signal detected by monitor) for a couple seconds randomly. It normally only seems to happen when my PC is under moderate to heavy load (ie. heavy benchmarks or gaming), all my drivers are installed/ updated, I've reformed drives and reinstalled windows, overclocked and underclocked everything, and I've tried running things with the bare minimum in the background. When my system goes back to normal shortly after there are almost no real signs of a problem, for the most part, it just resumes right where I left off like nothing happened: No high temps, No dropped voltage, No artifacts. The most that ie been able to pick up on is that whenever it does happen the only sign of it having ever happened is a few % dip in Cpu usage right at the moment of black screening, and in overwatch, I'll get a rendering "Rendering Device has been lost. Application is closing." although I'm fairly certain any other game will just resume after the hiccup like it never happened. Besides it only seeming to happen under load there seems to be no other trigger I can personally find through monitoring the system; It's not even fairly consistent, some days it can never occur, others I can't even play Overwatch for longer than a couple min periods. Does anyone have any input on how I can isolate the problem, and perhaps even fix it? I don't even know what kind of files or screenshots might be of use, but if you think it might be useful just name it, and I'll try and upload it. Hey guys! first of all im a newbie on the forum So uhm hi i guess but now let's get to my problem wich is messing with my head really bad. first of all the specs: corsair rm750x psu (don't know for sure if its a rm but it is 750 watts) i7-4770(non k) msi h97 gaming 3 mb msi geforce 1080 gaming x (factory oc) 32 gb corsair 1600 mhz ram samsung 750 ssd a old 2tb mech hdd 5400 or 7200 rpm dont know for sure (game drive) (issue?) so here is the problem: in games like gta v or pubg or even beam ng and also rust or other games my fps does not come above 70 rarely above 50 even! my cpu usage is for example is 50 to 70% MAX (70% is really rare) and gpu is around 30 to 50% in gta v in beam ng its even worse, both the values are around 30% constant nothing more this thing is really messing with my head troubleshooting i have done: Reinstalled windows (2 times 1 time because my ram died ;( ) installed latest nvidia driver also several times reinstalled most the games i really tried every thing i knew and i know in really cpu intensive games my i7 is not going to be good enough but 40 fps on gta v come on even my gtx 770 reached 80 fps I really hope someone can help!

So I recently acquired a 1080 for my pc, but it seems to me that the gpu i got isnt perfroming like it should. I thought it was maybe my cpu. I think my cpu is bottlenecking my gpu but im not sure. My current rig: Gtx 1080 founders edition, i7-4770, 8gb ram. If anybody could tell me what the problem is thank you.

Hello guys, Here are my specs: Geforce gtx 1080 gigabyte oc Intel i7-4770s YES it's an S Asus B85M-E mobo 16.0GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 799MHz ( I believe it should be 1600MHz in dual-channel) 1TB Toshiba hdd 7200rpm I run games in 1080p at 60 fps since i only have a tv that is 1080p 60hz(no big latency issues, gaming mode etc.) The problem i have encountered is that when playing Battlefield 1 for example i get the desired 60fps but it doesn't seem like it's 60 fps. It looks like it's micro stuttering or something. And i Overwatch i run it at 70 fps and it seems more like 50 fps too me at all times whereas in battlefield it is not constant. Tried experimenting with v-sync but it does not help with the whole situation other than removing the screen tearing. Any ideas? Is the mobo just too weak for my CPU and GPU? I've been running a gtx 750ti with an i5-4570 before and it ran of course worse for BF1 but no such issues in Overwatch were present (the whole 70fps more like 50 deal).

What data interfaces use the i7-4770's pcie lanes (i.e. usb 3.0, sata)? Thank you.

Anyway it appears according to some calculators that I could run this system on a 500W PSU, but just to be safe and leave my options open, I planned to build the system with room for crossfired r9 290s regarding power capabilities. Not saying I would necessarily run this settup, but I figured it was reasonable in case of a future crossfire/SLI as I may try to keep the PSU for awhile. This would push the recommendation for PSU a bit over 700W. My question is: Is there any particular recommendation on a very high quality PSU in the 750W-860W range without completely breaking the bank? Some of the people I trust really recommend SeaSonic products, but I am open to any brand as long as the recommendation is justified. I would be willing to to 80+ platinum or 80+ gold if that is justifiable (longer hardware life? better performance somehow? etc). Really just looking for tips, as I haven't assembled a system before, and don't have any first hand experience with components. Any input welcomed! Is it reasonable to expect a PSU to last 7-8 years? (long enough for 1 mobo/CPU/ram upgrade and maybe 2 gpu upgrades, before totally building a brand new system)? If there is any input on case, other components, that is also welcome. THANKS!!
