Hello! I'm currently experiencing issues within any game of very bad frame drops, I usually play 1440p 144hz however recently, I've noticed that my frames have been very unstable when it used to not be. Even turning down the graphics doesn't seem to help. My specs are: CPU: ryzen 7 3800x CPU cooler: Noctua nh-d15 GPU : RTX 3060 RAM: 32gb ddr4 3200mhz MOTHERBOARD: ASRock B550 extreme 4 PSU : 1000w Corsair SF1000L Case: Li-lian o11 mini Case fans: Uphere 6 pack 120mm any advice on what to do? Thanks!

My PC randomly restarts when playing GTA Online, Rust, or Cyberpunk (the only "intensive" games I've tested so far) Error code 41 - power loss in event manager, during those random reboots, all the LED's and fans are still running. It's like a reset button is being triggered. "Normal" behavior in case of power problems I assumed You would think, it's a PSU issue, right? But, It passed a 2-hour Furmark stress test with browser + discord usage alongside. And about 45 min full system stress test with Aida64, including CPU, FPU, CPU cache, RAM, Disks and GPU with power consumption significantly exceeding normal gaming power consumption by quite a lot Average power consumption when gaming: 90 - 110w on CPU 350 - 380w on GPU Fans and AIO pump are on about 80% Average power consumption during stress test: 170-180w on CPU 410w on GPU Fans and AIO pump is maxed out During summer, I have played Cyberpunk with 4K upscale. My system did shutdown like that once, but after a GPU driver update I've played for hours without a single issue (other than my room feeling more like an oven) Side note, I did have issues with my LCD screen on GPU, and recently booted to Windows safe mode, DDU'ed drivers, to install a very old version of GPU driver from 2021, and after getting the LCD working updated back to the current version of gpu drivers. I also did a clean install of the recently released driver that came out on 12th of December Side note x2. Played Rust a few days ago for about 8 hours straight, without any issues, but the very next morning, after about 20 min, it restarted again, I've ignored that and I continued playing for the rest of the day without any issues (about 6 - 7 more hours) Also just did a fresh bios update, and tried setting a power limit on the GPU to 75%, now running with only 290-300w but still, 5 min in cyberpunk and it reboots. At this point, I'm out of ideas, other than 3 1st - I'm still on Windows 10, sooo maybe compatibility issues? 2nd When fixing LCD panel, I re-installed a bunch of gigabyte bloatware, and currently don't have any of it, maybe it fucked with the power curve or similar? 3rd - My 2 year old PSU is dying? My specs: CPU: Ryzen9 7950x 5.7ghz (Stock) GPU: AORUS GeForce RTX 3080 Ti 12GB Extreme (Stock) RAM: Corsair Dominator Platinum 32gb 2x16 48000mhz (EXPO not enabled) Board: Aorus X670E MASTER Cooler: NZXT Kraken z73 Case: NZXT H700i PSU: NZXT C850 HDD: 1x WD Gold 2TB 7200rpm 2x Seagate 2TB 7200rpm SSD: Samsung 980 EVO 512 GB - M.2 SSD: Intel Optane 32 GB - M.2 (don't ask why, I just run Rust directly from it xd) + 4 RGB fans 3 Non rgb fans and 4 led strips All drivers are up-to-date, including the latest bios and GPU drivers and Windows updates. By my calculations, 850w is tight, but enough for such a build, considering that I haven't had issues for the past 8 months with this system.

Before I even get into the problem allow me to list my specs. RTX 2070s Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-10875H CPU @ 2.30GHz 2.30 GHz 16GB RAM I requested the repair from ASUS support last week to fix my GPU fan vibration and get my laptop back at weekend the issue was found after I got it back the gaming performance was pretty bad , it was fine before( before the repair request). the framerate sometimes drop for example from 70FPS to 40FPS and last 2 to 3 seconds while playing games like Warhammer Vermintide2 (the graph setting no change), then go back and drop again, this situation never happened before. I've updated my GPU drivers changed the Geforce experience setting Checked my task manager during the game: my CPU usage is lower than 40%, and the GPU usage graph looks like a electrocardiography. Anything helps. Thanks in advance.

EDITS: Added info on system. I'm having very strange issues with BSODs. Sometimes, I'll boot and it will take three tries to even log in. Other times, I'll boot, have no issues for a couple of hours, and then BSOD. Interestingly, I've also seen it get into a "long" boot loop: When idle, it will BSOD, restart, be fine, and then BSOD again every 40 minutes or so. Files that might be useful: Minidump Report 1 Minidump Report 2 Perfmon Report I've done the following: BIOS is up-to-date. XMP is on. Run sfc/ scannow and several DISM repairs. My initial sfc/ scannow caught some corruption and fixed it. Ran Memtest86--clean bill of health. Completely reinstalled Windows (this seemed to help for a while...) Updated all drivers to the most recent version. Ran Driver Verifier (no issues, actually had BSODs while running it that weren't caused by it) Reseated all hardware except the CPU (I don't have thermal paste on hand) Thoughts: Could it be the PSU? If so, how would I check? How can I try to figure out what these issues are? My specs are: Windows 10 Pro Aorus Ultra x570 AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 2x8 GB Crucial BALLISTIX 3600 GHz Sapphire Nitro+ 5700 XT WD Black 1TB NVMe SSD Cooler Master Gold 750 Watt Fully Modular

Recently I purchased a GTX 1070 off of E-bay for the cool price of $197.00 it is a blower style cooler and has been used so I am not to worried about it's performance. The thing that I am worried about is the Style of card and it's production, I ran GPU-Z and it showed up as a 1070 along with the performance presenting it that way as well. But the SKU, the cooler and even the PCB looks as if it wasn't made by Nvidia yet it clearly was, what do I do? Should I be worried at all?

Hey guys I got an issue with my pc. Whenever I play a game with or without dual screens it'll stutter regardless of dual screen or not and sometimes freezes. I recently replaced my gpu with a 1050 ti idk if that has something to do with it while on a windows 10 pro oem or can it be my ram being so low that it causes these stutters while playing games and watching netflix. Pc Specs: Windows 10 pro oem G4400 3.3Ghz DDR4 4gb ram GTX 1050 ti PNY 120SSD 500gb hard drive (probably in bad heatlh) Majority of games in this drive 550 watt power supply 2 monitors one through DVI and one through HDMI

Specs: CPU: i54670k Motherboard: MSI Z87-G45 RAM: 16gb ddr3 1600Mhz Graphics: GTX 760/ Red Dragon RX VEGA 56 8GB OS: Windows 10 PSU: Corsair HX 750W I have been scouring the internet for a solution but it seems to be uncommon and only a few apply to my situation. My Problem I recently decided to upgrade my GPU from the GTX 760 and got a good deal on the Vega 56. When I installed the GPU everything went pretty much smoothly. I started to play a game and after 5-10min the computer's power cut. No crash just off then turned back on shortly after. This happens every time I try to play a game, but just using the internet and such does not cause the computer to shut off. The GPU is fine since I returned it and the new one is still having the issue. I have reset the bios/cmos but still having issues. The temp of my PSU is not even hot by the time the computer turns off and it works fine with my 760, although I understand that the Vega 56 uses a good deal more power. At this point I am thinking that the motherboard is the issue, or maybe the PSU is just not working properly, but if anyone has any idea what is going on let me know. I'll try to respond as fast as I can.

Hi, two symptoms I have found possibly due to the same problem. It started when one day my games suddenly started crashing to desktop. No errors no warning no hangs just there I am in my game and whoop now I am at desktop. I have tried in 2 games because I have only these at the moment : AC Odyssey and Watch Dogs 2. Also when I run a benchmark test in MSI Kombustor, GPU ones run find, but when I run CPU tests where gpu and cpu both have considerable load (just like in a game) - BSOD and pc restarts. Solutions I have tried :- - Reinstalled the games. - Reinstalled windows, clean installation. - Made sure all windows updates are up to date. - Used MSI and Intel's utility to update any drivers that I could. They both now say that there's nothing left to update. - Monitored Task Manager to see if I can find a suspicious process or source of any spike but nothing. - Monitored Temperatures, they were well within limits. - Tried to make sense of BSOD crash dumps but ntokrnl.exe is all I can see common. My Specs :- - Windows 10 pro - Msi H110m pro-vh plus - Intel i5-6500 4 cores @ 3.2 GHz - Zotac Mini GTX 1060 6gb - Corsair Vengeance DDR4 8GB 2133 MHz - WD 1TB HDD - 450W PSU - Everything in BIOS on default, no overclocking. It's not just about being able to play games, I can't render things too if I can't put load on my gpu and cpu at the same time. Also, if it's a hardware problem, that'd be real sad because I can't afford any new part at the moment. Help appreciated!

Recently one of my ram sticks in my PC died (had a spaz attack) and now i'm left with one stick, running an APU !, I don't know what to do, should i try to buy a single stick to match? or should I save for a new 2x8gb kit ?, I have heard that buying 2 single sticks of ram separately can cause compatibility issues if they are not the same model... Also, I have a 5600XT coming in the mail so should I just buy ram later seeing as it wont need to be dedicated to the APU?

After hopping on GTA4 on Steam, I had fun for a while when the game firstly crashed, I thought nothing of it. I continued to play and got a BSoD. I went back on but the game was stuck loading, so I quit. On chrome, I would be frequently getting 'Aw Snap' on most pages and while watching YouTube (sometimes took 2 reloads to get to a site). In that day, in total, I had 6 BsOD's. I looked into the issue when it started getting serious (around my third BSoD) which ended me running a windows memory diagnostic and finding I had 'Hardware issues'. I took out one stick and ran again: no issues. swapped sticks in the same slot (only 1 stick in): no issues. put the stick back in the original so (2 sticks in): no issues. I am writing this around ten minutes after putting both sticks in. All seems good (I think it is, at least) Questions I have: 1. Why did/How could GTA4 cause this? 2. Why did only reseating the ram fix the issue? 3. In the future, if I have issues, should I try reseating/swapping the sticks of RAM? Thanks

Hello all!! I am having some issues installing Windows? In fact I cannot install any version of it. I have tried to install Ubuntu twice and no luck, I can run the live environment just fine. The only way is to safe boot into Windows 7 and install that way, which is my current state. When I go to install it reaches about 2% to 5% and then I get a BSOD and it is always a different kind "PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA" "CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED"I have a Windows 10, 8.1 & 7 ISOs burned to 3 DVDs & a USB with Windows 10 on it. What should I do next to figure out why I am having these issues, I can currently boot into Windows 7 Home Edition just fine, due to the safe boot install I was able to accomplish. Any tips would be greatly appreciated!! My build 1 Asus Maximus Hero Vi 2. Intel 4770k 3.5ghz Black Edition 3. Nvidia GTX 970 SSC 4. EVGA 700B Watt PSU 5. GSkill 1600 DDR3 Dual 32GB 6. Hi all. Afraid this is going to be a long post but please stick it out. I am hoping for some advice on which direction to go with my system and I want some views to help me decide. I have saved up some money to upgrade and I have 2 options in mind. I am thinking about buying an extra GPU to crossfire with my MSI HD 7970. However my system is over 4 years old (which I appreciate isn't too old) so alternately I am thinking of upgrading the CPU, MB, and memory instead for reasons below. My current system is: Intel i7 930 (LGA 1366) Asus Rampage II Gene (X58) OCZ 6GB (3x2GB) 1600MHz DDR3 Intel 520 120GB SSD (OS Drive) Seagate 1TB (contains all my documents, games, etc.) OCZ 600W PSU semi-modular (which I will have to upgrade with I decide to crossfire) CoolIT ECO A.L.C. CPU Cooler (which is rubbish) Thermaltake Armor Revo Gaming Case (looking to buy a Corsair 350D to replace it) MSI HD 7970 Lighting Boosted Edition The GPU I would buy is the MSI HD 7970 Lightning as it is cheaper than the boosted edition buy over £100. However I am considering upgrading my system so wanted some thoughts as to which would be the best direction to go and provide the best performance. The reasons for upgrading my CPU, MB, & memory are a few. My X58 chip on my motherboard runs very hot (60-70C at idle, no overclock) and restricted me when overclocking my CPU as I didn't want the temperatures to go much higher. Reading online the X58 seems to run hot normally. I tried to solve this issue by zip-tying a 40mm fan over it which did help to bring the temps down a bit. However I have now had to remove it since I moved my GPU card to the other slot, thereby preventing it to fit. I moved my GPU because where it was it was covering a SATA connector which I needed. I was bending the connector preventing it from working and I didn't want any permanent damage so thats why I moved the GPU. (If I buy another card, I will have to no longer use that sata connector). Also there is no USB 3.0 support, the PCI-E lanes are 2.0 and I believe something is failing in my system ( I have put the information about it at the end of this post because it is quite long and not everyone may want to read it. Any help about it will be greatly appreciated. ) The parts I am thinking about buying if I do upgrade my system are: Intel i7-4770k Gigabyte Z97MX - Gaming 5 Intel Z97 (Socket 1150) DDR3 Micro ATX Motherboard Kingston HyperX Beast 16GB (4x4GB) 2400MHz Quad Channel Kit Corsair Hydro H80i Cooler Keep everything else (therefore stick with 1 GPU) The question I have is which would be a better performance; buying another graphics card and crossfiring or upgrade my system? I mostly game and do lot of video converting through handbrake. I recently bought Watch Dogs and I've noticed that has much greater system requirements than any other games I own so my thought is many new games to be released may be similar so the system upgrade may be worth it? If you guys are still with me, please read below about my hardware issues. My Potential Hardware Issues So I think some of my hardware is beginning to fail. I am running some test nows but maybe someone here might have some thoughts as to what it is. I have been getting quite a few BSOD (ID: 2057). They are not consistent when I am getting them, but it is when I start to push my system. Far Cry 3 commonly crashes my system with Assassin's Creed IV also doing it occasionally. I overclocked my CPU about a year ago from 2.8GHz to 3.2GHz (not ground breaking I know but it was my first overclock). Anyway it seemed stable. I had run prime95 for 24 hours no problem. Multiple IntelBurnTest no problem. I had played many games and no issue at all. It seemed to be running very stable. However last January my secondary HDD failed and Windows 8 wouldn't boot. It kept going into a repair boot loop (which seems to be a common issue). I just bought a new HDD and started from scratch, reinstalled and staying with Windows 7. At that time I installed Hackingtosh as well, but OS X was never stable. After running a few tests I found that my overclock was no longer stable even in windows and crashed....a lot. I thought it was very strange how my overclock went from being pretty stable for 6 months without a single crash to being very unstable. I'm at university and I had a lot of work and no time so I just returned my BIOS settings to default removing the overclock and it seemed to run fine for a while. Since easter however I found that it was crashing a lot and after running prime95 my computer always gets BSOD (always ID: 2057) or the following errors for both worker #5 & #6: "FATAL ERROR: Rounding was 0.5, expected less than 0.4" "Hardware failure detected, consult stress.txt file" "Worker Stopped" Sometimes this can occur 5 mins after starting or 5 hours. (I am unable to find any stress.txt file as well) I ran two Memtests with 0 errors (4 hours and 12 hours). Anyone have any thoughts as to what it may be? This was quite a long post so thanks for sticking with me. Any thoughts or suggested improvements on which direction to go on my system upgrade would be much appreciated, along with what may be tripping my current computer. Thanks in advance for all your replies.

Hi all, So I posted a couple of weeks ago in 'New Builds and Planning' about a new build, but I mentioned about what I believe may be hardware issues. I was recommended to start a new topic here for help. I have been getting quite a few BSOD (ID: 2057). It is when I start to push my system. Far Cry 3 commonly crashes my system with Assassin's Creed IV also doing it occasionally. Running prime95 and kombuster simultaneously can result in a BSOD but not always. I overclocked my CPU about a year ago from 2.8GHz to 3.2GHz (not ground breaking I know but it was my first overclock). Anyway it seemed stable. I had run prime95 for 24 hours no problem. Multiple IntelBurnTest no problem. I had played many games with it and no issue at all. It seemed to be running very stable. However last January my secondary HDD failed and Windows 8 wouldn't boot. It kept going into a repair boot loop (which seems to be a common issue). I just bought a new HDD and started from scratch, reinstalling and staying with Windows 7. At the same time I installed Hackingtosh as well and that was when I first started to suspect something. OS X was never stable. After running a few tests I found that my overclock was no longer stable even in windows and crashed....a lot. (I am unable to find any stress.txt file as well) I ran two Memtests with 0 errors (4 hours and 12 hours). Anyone have any thoughts as to what it may be? Or any other tests I can perform to help find the problem? Tests and results I have ran so far: Memtest86 - 4 hours (0 errors) - 12 hours (0 errors) Prime95 (blend test) 1. Immediate BSOD after clicking run (performed straight after a 12 hour Memtest) 2. 2hr 25min - no issues 3. 12hr test - @ 5hr 19min, worker #5 stopped - @ 5hr 42min, worker #6 stopped 4. workers #5&6 stopped working after 5 mins My current system is: Intel i7 930 (LGA 1366) Asus Rampage II Gene (X58) OCZ 6GB (3x2GB) 1600MHz DDR3 Intel 520 120GB SSD (OS Drive) Seagate 1TB (contains all my documents, games, etc.) OCZ 600W PSU semi-modular (which I will have to upgrade with I decide to crossfire) CoolIT ECO A.L.C.
