Hi, I've just purchased a new MSI MAG B550 TOMAHAWK MAX WIFI It has a PCIE 4.0 and a 3.0 x16 Slot. It also has 2 NVME Slots 4.0 and 3.0. I currently have 2 x 4.0 4TB NVME drives in my NVME 4.0 and 3.0 slots. And my GTX 1080 TI in my 4.0 x16 Slot. I was wondering whether it would be better to move my GPU to the 3.0 16x slot as its a 3.0 GPU. And put the 4.0 NVME in a PCIE adapter and put that in the 4.0 x16 slot. Is my logic sound on this or am I missing something, Thanks

first of all yes i rubbed my 2 brain cells together n thought it was a scam. BUT with mining getting big again these may be old mining cards that there getting rid of to make room for new cards and recoup some cost of these real quick. Since no one know for Shure whether or not this is a scam me and a friend will be buying 3 of these to 1 see if they work and 2 if they do work how much the card has degraded compared to a used but never mined 1080 ti. as this progresses ill post more underneath this post. As we are now the cards should be in by the 27th.

I have a hp z800 which is an old workstation that I want to put a 1080ti into. I previously had a quadro m4000 in it which worked perfectly fine. When I start the computer, I get no video output and an error code saying I have a pre-video graphics card error. The GPU was previously used in SLI. Is there anything I can do to fix this?

i found a gtx 1080 ti for quite cheap on ebay but the owner says its broken and will operate normally but when you start a game it crashes. I was wondering if that would be an easy fix because it sounds like it just has a mining BIOS installed. That being said if its been mined on, then maybe not but since its quite cheap it might be worth a shot. Any advice would help.

2 weeks ago my GTX 1080 TI died. So I sent it in for warranty. I am currently receiving a RTX 2080 Super back. Is the RTX 2080 Super better than my 1080 TI? Below is the part # for the GPU's GTX 1080 TI: 11G-P4-5390-KR RTX 2080 Super: 08G-P4-3081-KR 08G-P4-2080-KR They updated it again. Still good? My computer build is Processor: Intel Core i7-8700K (6-Core) 3.70GHz Motherboard: ASUS PRIME Z370-P (Intel Z370 Chipset) (Up to 2x PCI-E Devices) (No SLI Support) System Memory: 32GB DDR4 3000MHz Power Supply: 750W Corsair RM750x (Fully Modular) Storage Set 1: 1x HDD (3TB Seagate / Toshiba) Storage Set 2: 1x SSD (2TB Samsung) Storage Set 3: 1x SSD (1TB Samsung)

Hi, Ive recently started playing a recently new game called Call Of Duty Warzone. In this game i have turned every setting to the lowest possible level and i'm still getting only around 60 fps with my i7 6700 + GTX 1080 TI? Im not sure if the fact that i'm managing two 144 monitors on my graphics card is the issue, but i'm unclear why my games are lagging so much. Just the other day i watched a benchmark on the game with a i7 6700 + GTX 1060 and they were getting and average of 100 fps on HIGH! If somebody could help it would be greatly appreciated

Hi y'all, If the GTX 1080 Ti have all of the shit that they told, will the GTX 1080 will be worthit at this point over a 1080 Ti since the prices has drop?

So I'm contemplating selling my GTX 1080 and going with a 1080 Ti. Ordinarily I wouldn't do this but I'm SO CLOSE to being able to hit 4K/60 at settings I'm happy with that I know the Ti will push me over the edge. I have a TV that's 4K/60Hz and FHD/120hz (Vizio P55). Some games I like to play at 1080P due to the higher refresh rate and I know the 1080 TI will not have a problem maintaining 120Hz in said games. I digress... My question is, should I wait for a partner board with a better cooler or just go for the reference design card? For most people I think the answer is obvious, the partner coolers are superior in every way shape and form IF you're going to SLI or have an ATX or mATX case. My use case is a bit different though. I'm gaming using a Phanteks Evolv ITX and I have maybe 3/4" to 1" of clearance between the bottom of my GPU and the PSU basement of the case. The card I have right now (EVGA GTX 1080 FTW) already runs hot in this case even with the fans running very high. 80°C easy at fan speeds well over 80%. So do you think that in my case, the blower cooler would actually be better? I have adequate case cooling. As adequate as is possible at least, w/ two Noctua NF-A14 PWM fans in the front as intakes and a low profile fan in back as exhaust. This is what my config looks like right now: So yeah, what do you think? Am I still better off going with a non-reference card? The good thing about a reference card is that I'm sure there will be aftermarket AIO coolers that will fit. Not so if I go with a custom PCB from ASUS or MSI. I think I'm done with EVGA after this card.

System Specs: -CPU: i7 6800K @ 4.2GHz -GPU: 2 x GTX 1080 Ti -PSU: EVGA Supernova 850W P2 -Motherboard: Asus X99 Strix -Storage: 1 SSD and 1 HDD -RAM: 2 x 16GB 3000Mhz I just got two GTX 1080 Tis and I noticed that in 3DMark Time Spy (and all the other benchmarks and games I tested) the power usage and overall utilisation of each GPU was at about 50% - 65%. When testing the GPUs separately, they would both reach 98% - 99% utilisation as expected. I'm assuming that it's because the PSU can't supply enough power, as the PSU makes what sounds like a faint coil whine when both GPUs are under load. Should I return my PSU and get a 1000W or 1200W one instead, or is it possible that the issue is caused by something other than the PSU? P.S. I thought about getting a power monitor to measure how much power is being drawn from the wall and seeing if this value is close to 850W. Would this be a good idea? Thanks in advance

I'm planning on getting two GTX 1080 Tis, but I don't know if it's worth pre-ordering the Founders Edition card tomorrow (which has a pretty good cooler according to Nvidia) or waiting for the board partner cards. This is the first GPU launch that I've been following, so does anyone have an idea if there will be a shortage of 1080 Tis (thus artificially increasing their price), and how long after the launch the AIB cards will become available?

Hello, I recently upgraded to two Gtx 1080 ti's from two GTX 980's (not ti). I was really excited to run all my games at 60+ fps at 4k on ultra. Turns out something isn't going right and I am not seeing the results I had hoped, In fact in some games like watch dogs 2 and mass effect andromeda I have actually noticed a significant drop in FPS while using SLI (watch dogs 2: 45ish fps no sli, 25 fps with sli. Andromeda: 45ish fps no sli, 14-28 with sli). Initially it looked like my 2nd GPU was not being utilized, sitting at 26% according to MSI afterburner. I saw that someone else had been having a similar issue and recommended turning off G-Sync, I did that and my cards are being fully used (showing spikes up to 100% in Afterburner) but the fps is still sitting at 25 or so in Watch Dogs 2 when using SLI. Here is my build: Intel i7-4790k (stock speed) Gigabyte G1 sniper M5 LGA 1150 Motherboard 2x GTX 1080ti FE (stock speed) w/ Nvidia SLI bridge 2x 8gb of A-Data DDR3 1600mhz ram Samsung 500gb ssd and msi 500gb ssd Thermaltake 750w 80plus Gold PSU Acer 4k 60hz G-Sync monitor Is my CPU bottle necking my GPUs that badly? Is my PSU not putting out enough to keep everything going? why do I get less fps while in sli? I'm at a loss here and was really hoping to see better performance than this. Is there any glaring conflict that I am not seeing? Please let me know if I can provide any other information, Thank you for any help!

I've almost finished planning my custom water loop, but I have a few questions that I couldn't find answers for online (I'm cooling two GTX 1080 Tis and an i7 6800K). First of all, I saw a JayzTwoCents video where his PC (Skunkworks) has very thin-looking fittings between each GPU. So far I'm looking at EK-ACF fittings, but they look much bigger than the ones in Jay's build (and other builds I've seen online). I currently have the GPUs with a 3-slot separation, so are these thin fittings required? Secondly, I'm thinking of mixing distilled water with EK-Ekoolant Pastel White. Is this a good choice, and how long should I wait before changing the fluid once it's in the system? Finally, I'm deciding between Noctua NF-F12 120mm and Corsair SP120 Quiet Edition 120mm fans. The Noctua fans are a bit more expensive, so is it really worth the £7/$9 price difference per fan? Thanks in advance.

I'm planning on incorporating a custom water loop into my build and I have a few questions, as this is my first water cooling project. Relevant specs: - CPU: i7 6800K - GPU: 2x GTX 1080 Ti FE - PSU: 1000W EVGA G3 - Radiator support: 240mm top, and 240 front (could probably fit a thin 360mm or 420mm rad at the from though) For the GPU blocks, I'm thinking of getting Phanteks Glacier GTX 1080 Ti blocks, as they are compatible with the NVIDIA HB SLI bridge. On the product page, it says that it has the following metals: Copper Base, Nickel plated, Acrylic Cover, Aluminum Covers Anodized / Chrome plated, Brass plug, Nickel plated / Anodized. I know that mixing metals in a custom loop is a bad idea, but there are so many metals on the block, I'm not sure which one to use for the rest of the loop. For the CPU, I was thinking of either getting one of the Phanteks CPU blocks or an EKWB. Please let me know if you have any recommendations. For the radiators, I'll definitely get a 240mm radiator on the top (possibly from Alphacool) and I'm debating what size to get on the front. The EKWB configurator recommends getting around 550W of heat dissipation for my setup, so that's a 240mm rad at the top with either a thick 240mm rad at the front, or a more thin 360/420mm rad at the front. Does anyone have any experience with a similar setup, and if so, what radiator configuration would you recommend? I'm going with flexible tubing (again, because this is my first water cooling project), and possibly white pastel fluid with clear tubes. Would this be good idea, or is plain distilled water better for cooling? Thanks in advance.

Hello I'm building a Ryzen PC for gaming, I'm using my phone so I'll screenshot my build I have on newegg. Basically I want any opinions and maybe even some suggestions to improve on the build. Sorry if screenshot seems lazy, I really find using phones on a forum to be real clunky.

**I NEED ADVICE ON WHAT PARTS TO GET I MAY OR MAY NOT GET IT PREBUILT (PROBABLY NOT)!**I have a $5,000 budget to get a pre-built pc but customized so I would like to know specific motherboards, 32gb ram, ssd, cooling unit, power supply, monitor, and sli unit if it makes a difference. I'm trying to build the best gaming computer I can using this and I want to run 144hz 1440p or 4k 120hz (I think) with also the ability to run htc vive vr. This would be extremely helpful and thank you! PS I am not building it because this is my second pc and the first one I built but it had a freezing problem I could not figure out for the life of me since the first boot up. (I used it for 4 years and got angry.) I also want to build it at cyberpowerpc.com unless anyone knows of a better site!

I really need to know, how can i make run a Gtx 1080 Ti on Dell r910. The main issue at this point of my life is: I can only see one pcie-8 available while 1080 Ti needs 2 x pcie-8. My study into pcie-8, 150W MAX power can drawn through (do correct me if i should not include "MAX") and my 1080 Ti uses 300W. This is what i have gathered about my Dell R910 - contains 16x PCIe Gen 2.0 (2 slots) ( do not be confused by a 2 x 16x single PCIE gen 2.0 slot in the image ) - already has 4 x 750W PSU - 1100W PSU's can also go in there (although should not be comibned with 750 W PSU) Am i allowed to use the pcie-8 Y splitter to two pcie-8 ? Other factors i am not sure about? - i have read my GPU might already be in an overclocked state - The server's two PSU adds up power to create maximum draw range of (750+750) 1500W even when motherboard is connected to 4 750W PSU Assuming that the server might draw upto 1300W alone , will my GPU be in danger?

Hello everyone! I am currently in the planning stages of my newest PC build. Here is the parts list: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/Envyyy/saved/Lhsf7P I am looking for some suggestions on what you would do differently or add to it. I am making this build for a combination of gaming, editing, motion graphics and some 3D rendering. One thing I would love suggestions on is a different AIO cooler, I would like one that is expandable so I can make a semi-custom loop with is some day. Thanks ahead of time, cheers!
