Hello world! I'll do my best to keep it short and sweet The Setup: Win11 + 120Ryzen 3900x + ROG Strix X570-E Gaming + 2x16GB Ram G. Skill Trident Z 3600 CL16 + (RTX 2080Ti) + Corsair RMX850x 3dmark 4y ago when I built the setup: ~14500 (sure, cant truly compare apple to apples with older versions of 3Dmark), but I could see GPU Load all maxed out back then. Sold a kidney and one eye and bought: RTX 4090 + MSI A1000G PCIE5 Run 3Dmark on the old setup and detected that the performance of my 2080ti was being really capped: My score ~8500 VS average of the community with same hardware: ~14000 Looking at the pretty graphs from 3dmark: CPU performance as expected (clock wise and CPU score), and temps never higher than 62c (eyeballing the graph). Clocks of the 2080ti: Consistent 1750mhz GPU Memory, and close to 2000mhz GPU Core, GPU Load: ~50% (eyeballing the graph), Temps always bellow 60c Thought to myself something was wrong, but who cares, I have a fancy new toy... Off with the old PSU, off with the old GPU. New PSU, new GPU, sexy and problematic single cable PCI5 cable. Everything boots up, new drivers from nvidia detected. Installed. Run 3dMark and I get... the same score range.. ~8500... GPU boosted a bit to 2800mhz, but seems to be averaging at 1200mhz. GPU Core temp max 48c. I think to myself, whatever... who cares about synthetic benchs? I boot up No Man's Sky, and I was having around the same FPS I had with the 2080ti! (at 4K, 70ish FPS). Ah... poorly optimized game.. sure... Cyberpunk.. crank everything up... (high quality than I used to play) and I get around the same FPS I had before! (At least the raytracing eye candy didn't seem to have impact in the performance). Thats when I went down the rabbit whole: Was it g-sync? No. Was it power profile of the computer? No. Was it the old BIOS? update to latest: No. Is it the CPU virtualization that I need to run docker containers? No. Was it the overclocked RAM? No. High activity of some random program on the background? No. Swamp the RAM sticks - their position between themselves- No Windows pending updates? No Should have removed all the graphic drivers before installing the new one? No worries, nuke windows and install it again: No Some power limit set? Install MSI afterburner, confirm power limit set to 100%: No Use MSI afterburner to train the Overclock curve and maybe it will work? No Was my cat seating on top of the computer? No Am I leaving performance on the table by pairing a 4090 with an old system? Yes, but I need to wait for my Kidney and eye to regenerate to sell them again (that's how it work, right?... right?) What makes things more interesting, is that in the miserable score I get, in the distribution graph that shows the scores of ppl with the same core hardware I have, it shows a little bump around my poor score, indicating that there is a fair number of people getting the same kind of scores that I get. Attached you can see the screenshots of the detailed results of 3DMark. I've also attached the 3dmark result files (if you want to open them with 3dmark to check all the details). My goal really isn't to use 3dmark as the source of all truth and reality (although I did put most focus on it, cuz it's the only instrumentation I got) but gaming is also showing that something is not ok. My knowledge, limited experience in debugging these issues, and whatever ability I have in googling things, leave me at thinking that ... maybe the motherboard is having a problem? But it's I don't know what best way to debug from here. Any tool that is able to capture more detailed information on what's happening with the card? Perhaps power delivery? I have no idea where to pick this from. I'm hopping that this community is able to help me, and all the other 3dmarkers that seem to be having the same problem, and I have a feeling that there might be people on a budget that might be extending themselves so they can enjoy their games, and be facing the same issue. The truth is that over the last 4 years, I went through a backlog of games, and I'm not able to tell when I started having this issue with the 2080ti. Jumping from old games, to AAA games, I believe that I just didn't notice performance drop, and accepted the underutilized reality of my 2080ti, since before this built I had not been playing for 10y. My pc crashes without any error ( Just give a black screen like when we press reset key). it doesnt happen always, just randomly this starts and whenever this starts its just keep going on. like when windows gets loaded then if i start a game or gpu benchmark its again crashes. i tried cpu benchmark but nothing happens. only when there is load on gpu this happens. after some time like an hour may be everythng works fine. but randomly this occurs nd keep going for a while. its very annoying. i dont know where the problem is . please anyone help me my pc has a 2700x on a prime x470 mobo with a aorus 2070.

So my system has a gtx 980 g1, which is a pretty old card. It's about 7 years old. This is my first GPU and I got it second hand. I just want some advice about GPU usage. I've been playing games and monitoring my system with MSI afterburner and I cant help but feel nervous when my GPU is runs at 99% (but the temps are steadily at 70-75C). Sometimes I'll drop down the settings in game and set a 60 fps limit to ensure that I don't stress it out too much. I want this GPU to last at least a few years, at least until the market isn't whack. So is it alright for my GPU to run at high usage?

Hello, the thing is that I have a new graphics card, a GTX 1070, and I use the MSI Afterburner to control the fan curve, and I set it up to start the fans at 35°C aprox. It's the first time I have GPU and my question is: Why is it that when I start rendering my project the fans don't start spinning even though if I open the afterburner the temperature shown is above 35, and while the program (MSI) is open the fans are on, but as soon as I close it, they stop, even while the render is still going on. Also, I've notice the CPU fans slow down a little too during the rendering. I use Vray in 3Ds Max.

My games don't run buttery smooth like i'd like them to and i've been trying to figure out why. I recently saw that this gpu temp app says my gpu has 0% load while im playing games. it very rarely will jump up to like 14 % or something but usually its at a constant 0%. Is this why my games aren't smooth. And if so how do i fix it?

I need to describe the whole problem. I started to have problems with my PC not turning off, instead it restarted, so I had to disable Fast Start to prevent this problem. After some days I started to have problems with some particular CPU and GPU loads restarting my PC. For example using de CPU-Z stress test caused an instant restart, but using prime95 not. Playing Cities Skylines (CPU intensive) also caused a restart, but a game like League of Legends played fine. Playing videos in youtube caused a restar just when the GPU fan starts (I have an indicator in my Gigabyte card for the fan), but other GPU usage never caused a restart, just youtube videos. At this point everything was already weird. After some time I started having problems with booting Windows 10, loading and restaring in the BIOS screen before the login screen. Sometimes I could login, but other I had to wait until it could boot. Tried to format my SSD, but the USB had problems booting to run the Windows install. After so many problems I tried plugin my Laptop drive in my PC to boot, but I had the same problem. I tried my SSD in my laptop and booted fine. It looks like the problem could be the Motherboard/CPU/BIOS. Hello guys i have problem with my gpu.I have replaced my Radeon R7 250 and Goldenfield 350W PSU with GTX 960 and Cooler Master B700 (used PSU with R9 280 for at least 2 years) -I tryed the GTX 960 on 350w psu but the pc was shutting down when i open a game or something else. -I replaced the 350W with my new (used*) Cooler Master B700w 55Ampers. -The pc was working,no shut downs,no problems but the psu was getting realy hot while i was gaming. -First i was scared because firs time in my life i see the psu is hot..My Codegen 400w and 350w goldenfield were not hot while i was gaming with R7 250 -I asked my frends and on some forums and they told me that psu is normal to get warm while gaming or on full load. -When i opened Batman Arkham Knigh everything was changed.... - The game works fine but sometimes frezes and lags like hell.I opened msi afterburner to see what is the problem. -While batman PC test there were big lags and frezes i mean GPU load was 95% than drops to 22% and 0% than up to 77% and again 0%... -While gpu load fall down the fps too like 2-5fps.The frezes last for 2-10 seconds and again... -And in free roam also or in misions gpu load fall to low numbers and even 0% and i cant play the game normal. -When the game was lagging the audio was strange...i mean the sounds from the game and i did not reach more than 30fps. -Game settings are on normal/textures on low cuz i have 2gb vram and 1080p res. -I have uninstaled some amd drivers from my R7 250,Downloaded the latest nvidia drivers,Optimied batman using gefoce exepirience and unlocked the game to 80fps max.I opened the game and sow that GPU Load was 80-99% and cpu load was increased also. -I runed the test and i did not sow frezes or gpu load goin down but ....The frezes came back but no so much like last time. -While im doing some mission or if theres action the game sometimes frezes,fps drop and gpu load also. -How can i fiz this problem ? -Is psu cousing this ? -When im playing World of thanks on max 1080p gpu load is 99% and there are no problems or lags also in Beam NG drive/Cities Skylines/Project Cars/Battlefield 3-(GPU LOAD is 66-80% and fps are locked to 60 alos maxed out 1080p) -Its inposible this sistem to use 700w right?
