  1. TBH that's what I've been thinkin. Ripped out a 1TB HDD from my laptop few days ago, been using that. Eventually I'll get another SSD lol
  2. just tried that, no luck
  3. So recently my 500gb SSD stopped working. It disappeared from my file explorer but I was able to find it in disk management. Turns out it got de-initialized. When I tried to initialize it again (I only had games on it, not worried about losing data) it gave me an error, saying that it couldn't be initialized due to an io error. I tried using AOMEI to find out what was wrong with the drive, as suggested by another user in my last post. If I try to initialize it there, it gives me error 45, can't be initialized. Trying to create a partition gives me code 203, meaning bad sector or cl
  4. Thx, that helped. It gave me an error code 203, meaning that there are bad sectors on the drive. Have no clue what to do about that tho lol
  5. obscure case, its "zalman m3 plus" ssd, PNY CS900 500GB
  6. So today my PC had been having some issues. I got a new controller and I plugged it into one of my front panel USB ports. It was working fin at first, but I unplugged it and when I re-plugged it, it wouldn't power on. It does work when I plug it into my rear USB parts, however. Here comes the weird part. I go back to steam and half my games are gone (the ones downloaded on that drive). File explorer revealed to me that my 500gb SSD has vanished. The drive is discoverable in disk management, but it asks me to initialize the drive. I've tried re-initializing it but it gives me an err
  7. Nice, makes me feel better lol
  8. cool thanks for the reply
  9. I'm no expert but from what I do know, your ram should be fine. There might be some performance left on the table tho. AMD Ryzen systems benefit a lot more from dual channel than intel so it shouldn't be too bad. If it were me, I would return the ram if possible and go for that 32gb because you did buy ram that you wont be able to use
  10. So my system has a gtx 980 g1, which is a pretty old card. It's about 7 years old. This is my first GPU and I got it second hand. I just want some advice about GPU usage. I've been playing games and monitoring my system with MSI afterburner and I cant help but feel nervous when my GPU is runs at 99% (but the temps are steadily at 70-75C). Sometimes I'll drop down the settings in game and set a 60 fps limit to ensure that I don't stress it out too much. I want this GPU to last at least a few years, at least until the market isn't whack. So is it alright for my GPU to r
  11. PSUs do make noise when stressed, the fan has to cool it down after all. Could also be coil whine like the reply above me said, but that usually is only under high load. If the noise is really bad and bothers you, you can always ask for a replacement, theres a 5 year warranty claim on the box.
  12. I recently bought a gtx 980 off of ebay and it works fine and looks like it has been taken care of. The only issue I've seen, or heard, is a fan rattling noise from the GPU at high rmps When I'm just browsing the internet or watching vids there is no problem, but when I launch a game the fans will ramp up and create a rattling noise. Any idea as to why this could be and what I can do about it?
  13. Oh dang that crazy. But yeah I don’t plan on overclocking, I don’t even think my mobo supports that. I’m prob just gonna use it for 1080p gaming
  14. yeah, i see that its about 200, and my cpu wattage is only 65 watts. Leaves about 200 watts that my psu can handle not counting mobo, ram, and ssd. It'll be safer to upgrade but it would run on my current system?
