I have an fx 9590 it has to low temps is that ok? this pc is 8-9 years old

I wanna get this out of the way first, I know my cousin is better off with a whole new computer but he wants to keep 300-500 dollars just in case he wants something else. Here is what we are thinking on upgrading from CPU: Amd FX 6300 to a FX 9590 GPU: 1050 Ti to a 1660S RAM: 8GB DDR3 (I think) and just add another stick to make 16GB Will this bottleneck? His CPU temps are 55 avg but we are unsure of what the usages were. I will update this thread as soon as I get more info.

Hello all, on my computer ive got some pretty high temps coming off the cpu ( amd fx 9590) and (temp 1) on the motherboard which is the heat sink to the left of the cpu. I have 3 120mm intake fans in the front of my nzxt h440 case and one rear exhaust fan on the back of the case and the h100i is connected onto the cpu which has the 240mm radiator on the top with two 120 mm fans that pull air from the case through the rad into the top cover/ exhaust area of the case. when it cases everything just stops I'm guessing when the temps on the motherboard (temp 1) exceeds an amount it just stops everything. I have found that when I run the fans that are connected to the radiator at 100% while gaming then the chance of it crashing is reduced however the fans are reducusly loud when ran like that and its just not natural to me anyways that it would have to run like that. even while idling the fans can kick up currently just writing this and my cpu is at 29 degrees c which is great but the temp1 is at 50 and the fans are having to do quite abit of work to keep it like that. hope you can help Kind regards Liam Bond

So I have a pretty nice pc right now that I built last year but with the release of the new gtx series I was thinking of upgrading. I am currently running a gigabyte GA-990-ud3 motherboard with an FX9590 cpu 16gb of ram and an EVGA gtx 980 ti hybrid, and a corsair 750w gold power supply. I am wondering if it would benefit me to upgrade the 980 ti to two gtx 1070's in sli and upgrade to a 1000w power supply to allow for all the extra equipment. Also, the lest cost efficient way is to scrap the system and part it out and rebuild with an i7 6700k, two 1070, 850w psu, and asus Z170 mobo. I am still new to pc building so I figured to ask the community what they would recommend. I know its costly to start from scratch, but I have a good job and could get a small loan to build it. I mainly play games on an asus 4k monitor and do some basic video editing for my wife, but I want to dive deeper into editing so I want to allow room with the two 1070's. Thanks for you help and advice in advance.

In my main build, I am currently running an overclocked FX-9590 (@5.0Ghz) paired with an overclocked R9 390X TRI-X (+300 clock) and wanted an upgrade from the usual 40-55FPS I'm getting in new games. I'm pretty sure an RTX card will bottleneck my FX-9590, but I just want to double check just in case it works fine or only lightly bottlenecks. I'm just not sure that I want to stick with older-gen GPU's if I have the money for (example) a GTX 1080Ti but could also afford a used RTX card instead, I really don't wanna force myself into last-gen hardware for current-gen prices. I might have to start an entirely new build otherwise. Anyone else running a similar build that could provide some insight? btw, the rest of my build specs are on my profile if they help.

Had a little fun this weekend with some liquid nitrogen and thought ya'll might be interested. Hey every1 . So my friend asked me to make a build guide. He focuses more on Gaming , editing and multitasking . He has a total budget of 800 $ for his PC . I thought about the CPU and came up with Core I5 6600K and AMD FX 9590 as the options . Which one should I go with and why ??? Thanks in advance guys .

Hey, I really need your help. I received this prebuilt from Origin PC, and I am having a frequent crash issue. I am receiving the 'CPU Over Temperature Error!' whenever I am in any sort of game after about 20 or 30 minutes. I have tested DiRT Rally, Dota 2 and GTAV. I have also tested Furmark for both GPU and CPU burn in, and the system stays completely stable throughout. I am unsure why this is, but I feel it may be important to note that only during games does my CPU overheat. I have checked that there is liquid flowing through the cooler and also the radiator fans are spinning. Basically, screen + system will freeze, unable to control anything on the computer unless restart with power button. My system specs are in my profile, however I will also put them here. what will happen if i put an FX 9590 (which is a 220w CPU by the way) into an MSI 970 gaming motherboard? the motherboard says it supports a 200w and under CPU but i dont know what will happen if you put a larger watt CPU into it. (im only 15 so im still learning stuff like this)

So I have been looking around and discovered an fx 9590 for $150 on Craigslist, seller says it's open box but not been used, do you think this is a worth it investment as an improvement over my fx 6300? Should I just save and maybe build a new rig in the summer with Intel?

AMD FX 8350 – This processor was almost always out classed by the Intel Core i5-4440 expect in a few games. AMD FX 9590 (AIO)- This generally performed just as good with the AMD FX 8350 but just cost more. The Intel Side Intel Core i3-4130 – Although the Intel Core i3-4130 was always beat by the AMD Athlon X4 860K it was never beat by any large margin. Therefore the Intel Core i3-4130 is a sufficient option for in place for the AMD Athlon X4 860K. Intel Core i5-4440 – The Intel Core i5-4440 had the best Cost to Performance Ratio for the AMD Radeon R9 290X (MSI Lightning) and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980 (ASUS STRIX) as well as being sufficient for the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 770 (OEM). Intel Core i7-4790K – The Intel Core i7-4790K turned out to be outclassed by Intel Core i5-4440 because at best the Intel Core i7-4790K got 10 more frame rates compared to the Intel Core i5-4440 for $150 more.

I'm planning on getting a FX 9590 to replace my 8350, although considering how it consumes 248 Watts, It's one of the hottest CPU's you can buy. So, what should I do about trying to cool it?

I have a crosshair v formula-z motherboard and was thinking to upgrade my cpu. So i was thinking of buying fx 9590 But is it worth it? To buy a intel cpu i have to buy a new motherboard so im just sticking with a amd cpu and i mainly game so i think i will be ok with an amd cpu But my fear is that amd will release there new 'zen' cpu's (leaked info)soon and I'll be stuck with a last gen cpu and the newer once will be similar in price Should but it or wait for few months?

I recently made out a customized PC with Sapphire AMD/ATI Radeon R9 290X TRI-X OC 4 GB DDR5 Graphics Card and AMD FX 9590 .. TBH i really don't know how to assemble a PC so appointed one who can but he is telling there are compatibility issues ..Are there supposed to be any ?

i know that this cpu is a bit old at this point (and i dont like it) but i have a client that wants this cpu. i have a m5a99x evo r2.0 motherboard thiat isnt working with it (it runs only when the cpu is underclocked to 4.6). question 1) Is it a bad borad or does it just die with this cpu? 2) i know that amd says to use a 1000W psu but im on a really tight budget for this rig so would a 750w psu work? or how low of a wattage can you possibly use? AMD: why the heck did you make this cpu??? just make a differnt cpu socket for your enthusiast grade cpu's so we dont have to worry about power delivery crap. GO Intel!!

So I am currently in the process of upgrading my PC part by part. I have already upgraded my gtx 650 to a gtx 970, and I am planning on upgrading my CPU next, so I could use some help in making a decision. Budget - $300 (I can go a little bit over if necesssary) Current specs: gtx 970 amd fx 6100 asrock 970 Extreme4 (Let's go on the assumption that my power supply will be adequate) Right now I feel as if the best choice would be the AMD FX 9590, it's the highest rated CPU I could find that fit within my price range and would be a huge increase in performance. A VR-Zone forum user has got his hands on a retail sample AMD FX-9590 (which is based off the same 32nm HKG process used on Piledriver and Bulldozer, so this is the same stuff as the FX processors, yet clocked faster and eating away a lot of power. It has 8 cores and 8 threads, 8MB cache and it's clocked at 4.7GHz (5.0GHz Turbo core 3.0). Expected price is around $800 which is not very far from the Core i7-3960X. At idle, the chip runs at 1.4GHz (0.875V) but when it turbo's up to 5.0 GHz it requires 1.513V! That might not even be stable enough with some motherboards and it will require some high end cooling. The processor is very similar to the older FX8350 with the only difference being the higher clocks thanks to them being very highly binned. It has been tested on an ASRock 990FX Extreme9.
