Hi, I've been facing this weird yellowish tint around the border of my display.What could possibly be gone wrong? This is a curved 1080p freesync 22 inch VA panel from samsung. My sister and her husband want me to build a HTPC that will play movies and TV shows in 4K for them. Coincidentally, my grandmother wanted a new computer and I suggested a HTPC to her and she said that'd be good. I plan on giving her my old 1080p TV to go with it. The thing is I don't really know my about making/planning a relatively good HTPC so I came here for help. The only requirements are they both need to be Mini ITX and have a wireless mouse & keyboard, a Wi-Fi card or on-board Wi-Fi, an OS, and they'll both need a Blu-ray optical drive.

Hello from Germany, i bought myself a new computer 4 weeks ago and now want to upgrade/replace one of my monitors. I have some requierments to fullfill: - min. 1080p144hz or 120hz, and i've got a RTX2060Super, so no 4K144hz for me - IPS-Panel, i need the color-accuracy - VESA-mount, all my displays are attatched to the wall - Budget: up to 500€/550$ - 27 inch Nice to Have: - "G-Sync"/Freesync, havent played with it, so no clue if it is nessesary Ive searched a bit around on amazon and found some contestents for further inspection. iiyama GB2760QSU-B1 Acer Nitro XF272UP ASUS MG279Q If you can suggest some other monitors i'm gladly to hear! Hi! My monitor just died yesterday, I mean got some green filterish thing on it, it is like the start menu burned inside it (It is an IPS panel idk XD), and the warianity just expired 5 days ago. ? I attach a picture of it, if you have any idea if it really died. Nevermind. I want (have) to buy a new one. I really loved my 23MP68, so I thinked I get another lg (24MP59g), but then I watched a video, and it said that it ha a serious blacklight issue. So I am staying here right know with not any idea about on what to spend my 200 $. I have a 1050TI to pair with. Thx for your help Sorry for my english ??

Hi everybody, this is my first message on the LTT-board, and I have a question. For video editing I am using Wondershare Filmora. A fairly pretty nice program, which has a very easy to understand interface. The only thing that is bothering me is it's encoding quality. In relation to Handbrake it basically 'sucks'. Handbrake can give the same quality at nearly half the file size. And it's not like Handbrake takes more time than Wondershare Filmora. So at this moment I am busy with (another) Cities Skylines video for my YouTube channel, and I don't want to re-encode every time I make a video of this game. I record it at 1080p 60fps with Bandicam (yes, the paid registered version), and video edit it in Filmora. The question is what would be the ideal bit-rate? I read a lot about 1080p and 60fps that 8,000kbit/s would be most ideal. BUT, games differ a lot. Some games involve a lot of movement (like Battlefield), but in Cities Skylines most of the visuals are images of buildings and the only things that are moving is the traffic and the people in the city. And of course you yourself scrolling around and doing things. Now would 6,000kbit/s be enough? It would reduce the file size to a point I am content with to upload to YouTube. Without re encoding it saves also video quality. But is 6,000kbit/s enough for a pretty static game like Cities Skylines? -

Hi guys I just bought a GTX 1070Ti and I'm going to play some games with my friend. He has a 4k TV so we're going to use that. I was just wondering though, how can I run games at 4K on my 1080p screen? I want to do this so I don't have to spend time playing around with the settings over at my friend's house, and I don't have a 4K display. Sorry if this is a dumb question but I was just wondering

A couple week ago i won a Photoshop competition, so i figured i used the prize money to buy a monitor. preferably a monitor with good color gamut and sRGB value since i used my PC for photo editing and 22 inch because i want to use a dual monitor setup with my old monitor. My budget is around 120 USD.

I would like to choose a gaming monitor that has 144hz, is full HD and has a good contrast ratio, but I don't understand well how this last one works, I searched information of how the contrast ratio works but i don't know what ratio should I pick. I understood that a good one is 3000:1 up to 5000:1, and the monitors that are claimed to have like 80 000 000:1 are some sort of scams..? I would like to have your help guys!!

So I have built a PC last year with the following config: AMD Ryzen 5 1400 with stock AMD Wraith Stealth cooler 16 Gigs of DDR4 RAM (GSkill 2 sticks of 8GB clocked at 2400MHz) nVIDIA GTX 1060 6GB gfx card Samsung 850 EVO 250GB SSD (OS drive) Seagate 1TB HDD (Other partitions) WD Elements 2TB portable HDD (mainly vlogging videos and rendered stuffs) CoolerMaster xtreme 600W PSU Thermaltake ATX cabinet BenQ GL2460 24'' LED monitor Redragon Asura gaming keyboard + Centophorus gaming mouse Creative SBS 2.1 stereo audio So far the system is going good, however at times I'm noticing that my monitor turns black for a moment (a sec or two) and then comes back as if nothing has happened, yet to figure out why... My primary use is moderate gaming of all kinds, video editing, doing office stuffs through AWS and the usual web browsing, music and watching/streaming videos. Any suggestions that would help me avoid any bottlenecks specially while rendering 4k content and gaming AAA titles? Thanks!

I would need your input on something. Do you think it's better to use a larger monitor with a bit lower resolution or a smaller monitor with a higher resolution? Talking about a 22" 1680x1050 16:10 vs a 21" 1920x1080 16:9. Both are TN with DVI. The larger is a Samsung SM 2253BW while the other is a Philips 226VL. The 22" just seems larger, a lot larger, which is strange. Here's the poll: www.strawpoll.me/10693210 I need to choose between those two monitors (have both, but one has to be on the main rig and the other on the rig in the living room). And I have a second screen, a LG L192WS (1440x900, 16:10, pixels large like the ones on the SM2263BW). Also, since the Samsung and LG are both CCFL they are easier to match color than when using the Philips with the LG.

Okay... So I'm looking for a FHD (1920x1080) monitor with decent response time (under 15ms), okay refresh rate (60Hz and up, I mean most monitors nowadays are 60Hz and up right??) and a size of at least 19" ( the bigger the better, I was going for 21"-24", but that may be asking too much)... Any suggestions? Also, I would prefer if it is a new monitor, I kinda don't trust used ones. Thanks in advance.

Hello, soooo, as i will travel a little bit while working thsi summer i am looking for a powerful yet upgradable pc that is very portable. I have a small case that is 20*35*8 cm big and i have all the wireles things that are very portable. Now i am looking for monitor. ASUS MB169B+ (https://www.asus.com/us/Monitors/MB169BPlus/overview/)was my best bet. The problem i am facing is that it is powered through usb 3 and signal also goes through this cable and as second monitor it is just fine. I My idea: use it as main and only monitor. Will it work? havent found any proof that it does nor doesnt so please help :-/ thanks

Hi, Do anyone here know how i can make one monitor work like 4? I'd like to run a 40 UHD tv as 4 screens with a 2x2 grid. That way programs can snap to the corners So the UHD monitor splits up into 4 FullHD screens....?

So, i am planning to get a new TV about 40inch wide, and i was wondering if you could help me a little. I basically dont have a single idea about tv's, so if you can give me some tips and recommend me some good Full HD Tv about 40inch under the 400 euros pricetag, i would be happy, and explain me why you would pick that TV. Also i do not really care about UHD, smart TV and Wifi TV, they are pretty useless for me PS. if i am posting in the wrong section, plz move it.

Hi, I would like your to know which are some of the best 1920x1080 monitors in the market for less than $300. I like the Acer GN246HL Black 24" 1ms 144hz HDMI Widescreen LED Backlight LCD 3D Monitor 350 cd/m2 100,000,000:1. But I havent done a lot of comparissons. There are also specs I dont understand, I went to blurbusters and all their 1920x1080 monitors said "1920X1080 TN" All but 1 that said VA at the end, but It was so much more expensive. So,to sum up, best 1920x1080 monitor under $300. And what is TN and VA. Also, what is the contrast ratio and the ips or idk waht was if not ips. Thx in advanced

Hello, ever since I've built my new PC about a year ago, it sometimes bluescreened when I watched a FullHD 60 FPS video in fullscreen. That had also happened with the laptop I was using before that, and it was very rare (on my PC, on the laptop I couldn't watch FullHD 60 FPS videos because of it), so I wasn't really bothered by it. Recently however, it has become more and more common, with a daily bluescreen being common if I went on a youtube binge. Anyway, in the last few days, I got bluescreens twice when setting a video to fullscreen even though they were neither FullHD nor 60 FPS, and today, I got a bluescreen twice withing a single game of competitive CS:GO (which has never happened ago). This is especially troublesome because I am currently writing a dissertation, which I sometimes leave open the entire day without saving very often - I've actually had to re-write quite a lot after one bluescreen recently. (Yes, I know this can be avoided by saving more often, but it's still pretty annoying and something I'll have to get used to.) My specs are: OS: Win7 64-Bit CPU: AMD FX-8350 GPU: AMD R9 290x (ASUS DirectCUII OC) RAM: 8 GB (2x4GB G.Skill Ripjaws) MoBo: ASUS M5A99X EVO R2.0 The browser I am using is firefox (though if the bluescreens in CS:GO are related to those that happen when I watch videos, the browser shouldn't be the issue). Hi guys, I think this is a pretty common topic...though I still could not find any solutions on Google nor any forums. So I wanted to connect my HDMI xbox 360 to my VK278Q Asus monitor (27" FullHD 1080p display). At first it was blurry, so I thought I will change the display settings on the xbox. I changed it from 1080p to 1080i, looks the same, 1080p to 720p...still looks the same. I couldn't find the auto-adjust function on my monitor. THough, when I changed the scaling of the pixels to 1:1 and set it to 720p on the xbox, the screen scaled down as if I was playing a movie in 720p with black borders on the edge. The definition then was extremely good, but I was dealing with huge black edges... as 720p is like 1/4 the definition of 1080p. I know Xbox games are 720p, but I thought the menu at least is in 1080p? The menu looks ugly. Oh and I tried 1080p on the tv, works perfectly. The definition of 1080p on the tv looks perfectly fine. The definition of 1080p on the monitor with the xbox looks blurry as if upscaled from 720p. Not sure what the problem is. DVI 1080p with PC is completely fine. I couldn't find any answers... so that's why I am posting today. Please help! Thanks!
