So I got this used (its not new) Lenovo Thinkpad i5 T470s from 2017. It works fine and it has all cool and nice features. But there is one thing that keeps bothering me so much I have to make a post about this. The screen itself keeps flickering just like a flurosecent light and I can even see very slight burn in on the screen. Altough in the recording you cannot see any sort of flickering nor burn in. But from the outside point of view from my camera I can actually see it with my own eyes. But sometimes when I leave my laptop for long enough turned off and when I turn it back on. The flickering diminishes. But then the flickering comes back up when I change the wallpaper on windows and turn it off and turn it back on. The same flickering diminishing happens when I decrease the brightness to very low to the point I cant see the flickering nor burn in anymore. But it happens when I increase the brightness. No,the problem is not within the monitor cable located in the hinge of the laptop or the panel itself. Its the backlight itself that is sort of becoming a problem and the panel being a more of a minor problem. I did try updating drivers to fix any problems it still does not help. I could try reach out to Lenovo service but considering the fact that this laptop is since 2017 and the warranty for it has expired, there is no chance of sending it back to be repaired. What can I do with this laptop? Here is the recording of my laptop. It might look like as if the display is fine and there is nothing wrong with it. But in reality the screen itself is flickering and can happen occassionally. The slight burn in from the previous screen can also happen along with the flickering. So is the backlight the problem here? Or is it the panel? (It cant be the monitor cable nor the drivers because I did check that and it still does not resolve the issue whatsoever) IMG_6316.mp4

Hi, Since I installed my RTX 3070 into my new build, my one monitor flickers periodically. I noticed as soon as it starts to flicker that monitor sets to 59.995Hz (its a 60Hz 4k monitor). Some times it flickers quicker than others and I notice it starts to flicker more if I am AFK. I suspect its some sort of driver. I used DDU on my old GPU (same type, I'll explain later) and the error persisted. I then called Canada Computers incase it was the GPU they recommended to send it in for a replacement. After installing the new GPU, Asus Strix 3070, the issue was still here. This used to happen with both monitors, however, it only happens to my 4k monitor now. My main monitor is 2k 165Hz. I question if it is a weak windows installation, I just haven't reinstalled windows as I wasn't sure how to easily. I also have software such as ICUE, Logitech g900 software, focusrite solo gen 3 software, and Armory crate. Would anyone know how to fix this?

Hi guys, so basically, our tv has been acting up recently. It keeps on 'flickering' when we to turn it on. After waiting hours, sometimes an entire day, it turns on seemingly for no reason and works normally with no signs of trouble. That is until u turn it off again After which the cycle repeats. Bought it less then a year ago (around the beginning of Fall) AND started using it month or 2 after it arrived, during which time it remain in box untouched. I am also attaching a vid down here cuz trying to explain the issue is too much of a pain in the butt. (Quality is low cuz had to compress it to send over email from phone ) Any help will be appreciated Tysm ( ω ) LTT Forums.mp4

Hello, I'm having an issue with the top 1/4 of my displays (I'm running a dual monitor setup[144hz and 240hz]) flickering black periodically as seen in the 5 second video on this thread ( ) After changing my Nvidia panel GPU performance global settings to maximum performance, as suggested on this thread, the flickering became much less frequent, but it still occasionally happens. Would anyone happen to know what could be causing this problem? I recently had a new rig built (ryzen 5600x, 32gb 3600mhz ram, 750w psu, and a b550 tomahawk motherboard) and swapped in my 2070super from my previous build (intel 7700k, 16gb 2133mhz ram), and then this flickering started. It was not flickering on my previous system. Is this a potential issue between the cpu and display driver compatibility? Any insight would be appreciated.

I have a HP laptop 15-db002na. The Screen will flicker black and also flicker with grey stripes when the cpu is under certain loads e.g when booting up or if I plug in a USB optical drive. It seems to get better when idle but there's always occasional flickering. It doesn't show on an external display and I've tried updating, and reinstalling drivers and bios updates and nothing seems to work. I have no idea what else to try, please help. Kind Regards Chris

I am trying to reuse an old laptop screen as a second monitor for my PC. I have it hooked up using this controller board, which only accepts DP input. The laptop this screen came from runs the second display just fine, but when I plug the DP cable into my PC I get a flickering screen (and when the screen is briefly on, all I see is static). I've successfully gotten the screen working with the PC in safe mode and by disabling the graphics card. But the moment the graphics card drivers come into play, the screen goes back to flickering. I have the latest drivers from NVidia for my graphics card. At this point I'm pretty sure it's the drivers on the graphics card, since the screen works in safe mode and BIOS. Should I just try older drivers one by one? Any other sources for this problem that I don't know of? My specs are: Windows 10 Home 64 bit MSI PRO B450M PRO-M2 MAX AM4 (BIOS version A.70, latest) AMD Ryzen 5 3600 (no overclocking), stock cooler 2x16GB G.Skill Ripjaws V DDR4-3200 (3200MHz XMP profile 1) Gigabyte GTX 1650 Super Windforce OC 4G Crucial P2 NVMe M.2 SSD, 500GB EVGA 500W 80+

Hi there. I have been fighting with it whole day, just got second-hand ASUS VG248QE 144hz. It does work on all refresh rates besides 144hz. Whenever, I try to switch to 144hz or play league of legends (on any refresh rate) it turns to that weird grey flickering screen. However, if I alt+F4 when lol is opened then it will revert back to desktop. The same is when switching to 144hz just have to wait until revert changes time out to get normal desktop. I tried playing Doom Eternal, Valorant, Path of Exile and it does work at 120hz. Fresh install of drivers didn’t help. I DVI dual-link for this screen and ordered dp cable to see if that’s the issue. I got another 2 screens connected (60hz) and both work without any issues at the same time. I’m out of ideas how to troubleshoot any suggestions? Thank you Specs: Ryzen 5 1600 16gb 3000mhz Radeon rx590 8gb psu corsair gs800

Hey guys, I've had this Asus G552VW for almost a year now and I'm pretty happy with it. Until recently. Every time it starts from a cold boot (being off for more than an hour) the screen flickers erratically between black and the actual image or colors of the image. If I wait long enough it will just go away, but it usually fixes itself as soon as I login and it takes me to the desktop. I can usually stop it by pressing the area just above the right screen hinge. So one could only assume it's a hardware problem. But I wasn't expecting this... I tried going in the BIOS setup and BOOM that fixed the flickering it does not flicker when I am in the setup. If I save and quit the laptop will reboot normally without flickering all the way through post->boot->login->desktop. I'm really at a loss. I tried updating to the latest BIOS, but that didn't work. I tried uninstalling my graphics drivers. But to no avail. Please troubleshoot gods, help a man in need. Sincerely, a desperate citizen of Belgium

So I have been having a weird issues as of late with my MSI G24C monitor. The bottom inch to two inches will have issues displaying the pixels. Almost like they are frozed up. After I leave the monitor on for 10 to 20 minutes the pixels come back showing full display with no lag or any issues at all. Just after it has been turned off for a bit. (Had full screen flicker the other day but it seems to have stopped completely as well) Any help on possibly identifying the cause would be amazing. I have tried different display port cables, and hdmi cables, both having the same issue. Also same issue with two different video cards, GTX 1060 3gb and now Radeon Vega 64. I am fairly certain it is the monitor itself, but is it something I should be worried about immediately or is this common? P.S. I did try using the search to see if this has been addressed before but I was unable to find something with the same issue. My apologies if I missed it.

Setup: Monitor - BenQ DL2020 GPU - Asus Gtx 1050ti CPU - Intel i5-8400 Mobo - Asus TUF H370 (non wifi) PSU - forgot the brand 450W RAM - 2x8GB Kingston HyperX Fury HDD - 2x Toshiba 1TB Happened a while ago. Bumped my knee into the table. Table wobbled and so is my monitor. After a few minutes, the flickering starts to happen. This is what it looks like: https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=12eeCS5fbShpOkXS3ljx1FKuSHJcUk6Av First thing I did was to unplug and plug the DVI cable. No luck. Then I reseated my GPU. No luck. Tried to restart my PC. Still no luck. Noticed that when i unplugged the DVI cable, the message "no signal cable detected" was still flickering and the start-up display of the monitor isn't showing up as well. Although it comes back to normal every after ~30-ish minutes. Soi am narrowing it down to the monitor as the culprit. My BenQ DL2020 is 3yrs old right now. Just by the context of this, can someone kindly confirm if this is the right assumption? So that i could solve this immediately. Im a college student and i dont have a laptop so its kind of a hassle to bring this to a service store and wait for a couple of days cuz they said that they have a queue of pc to be diagnosted before me. Thank you for taking time to read this! First post, really need help T_T received_554737131933586.mp4 received_502714710289491.mp4

Hi, recently i found out that my secondary display is doing something weird during it's bootup? turn on? wakeup. It starts to flicker the power (I assume from seeing power button light also flickering on and off [just not the orange that is usual off indicator but rather just black like there is no power at all]) on and off. I have no clue what is the reason that it makes such thing. After a moment it enters let's call it phase 2 which is flickering with manufacturers logo and after that it just works. The problem i'm also seeing is that the time it takes is expanding. Funny fact, my brother also have the same problem with his monitor, but his started about month ago while mine about week ago. Brother's monitor now takes even up to 2h to turn on. Both monitors are about 9 y/o now and never had any issues. That is LG Flatorn W1934S and less known Medion MD30999PD that you probably won't find anything about in the internet. I would appreciate the help.

Hello! I sold my GPU this week, and so I am now temporary using my Integrated GPU. However ever since Im having some problems: My monitor flickers(The flickering is not a full black screen flicker but the more like dimmed black flickering) this weirdly happens on every refresh rate except for 120hz. I'm using the integrated graphics from my i9 9900k (UHD 630) but when I connect my laptop to the monitor then all refresh rates work fine, so my monitor seems to be working. If for example I put it on 60hz or 144hz, the flickering starts (even in the bios!) but as soon as I put it back to 120Hz it works fine again. I tried disabeling Adaptive Sync and HDR and I also tried different cables (hdmi and DisplayPort cables). I even tried re-installing windows and the flickering became alot worse during the installation, that was pretty weird. (see video link at the bottom of this post). My intel UHD 630 drivers are up-to-date and re-installed as well. Can this be a hardware issue? Or would the problem then also be there on 120hz? I dont have another monitor to try sadly but I tried using my 4k 50hz TV and there is no flickering there but I dont think that really says anything as its a TV and not a Monitor. Also I tried running an userbenchmark to see if my hardware scores fine and it the scores are great. I am so clueless how I get flickering on every refresh rate except for 120Hz. Please help me My specs: CPU: i9 9900k Monitor: 2560x1440p 144hz LG ultragear 27GL850 Motherboard: ASUS Z390-F gaming Video: https://youtu.be/V173leekQzE (this was during the fresh Windows installation, the flickering was pretty weird and extreme here, outside of this installation the flickering is just dimmed black flickering)

So I have lately been using double monitor setup. I have HDMI plugged from my main 24"inch monitor to GPU and 17-19" VGA-DVI to my GPU also. When I start watching video my main monitor gets flickering green bars (horizontal) which won't go away (sometimes they go away when I close browser sometimes not). I have latest Flash player on my Firefox and Chrome. (Does that on both) But I have realized that when starting my computer if I unplug VGA-DVI and plug it back after computer is on, my main monitor won't get those green flickering bars. I have latest AMD Catalyst Control center and Catalyst software suite. I have tried to plug my secondary monitor to my motherboard VGA slot but it doesn't work and same is with the HDMI. (I think I have downloaded the drivers) Currently using Windows 10 Components: GPU: Asus R9 270 CPU: i5-4670k Mobo: MSI H97 PC Mate PSU: Corsair CX 500W If you have any kind of advice feel free to give! Thx in advance to everyone! Monitor: BenQ RL2455HM Secondary monitor: Some old Acer 17-19" inch 4:3 monitor. Max refresh rate on both 75Hz.

Hi guys, i kinda need help with my PC, a week ago, i downloaded the new beta driver Catalyst 14.1, did a full driver sweep, and installed it, some how it fails to install the driver for the card but install everything else, now i went back to the 13.2 WHQL version for my card and since then, i started to experience flickering lines now and then on my PC, white or black lines. Seemed to notice that it only does the flickering thing whenever i'm idling or just doing web browsing or watching videos/YouTube and such. And whenever i'm playing a game, running a game on idle on the background, alt tabbing etc... the issue doesn't seem to happen. Here is what i already tested, tried using the processor's Intel HD 4600, flickering doesn't happen, using the same HDMI cable. Tried connecting my phone, a galaxy note 3 into the monitor thru the HDMI port and hadn't had flickers while playing a game or playing a video. temperatures are good, (attached a photo of speecy/core temp/gpu-z/cpu-z running as of typing this) Run a 24 hour stress test on MSI Kombustor, results are normal, dint notice anything odd, no flickering lines. Been playing HD games on High settings or even Ultra settings and flickering nor any other video problems don't appear. Examples of the games i play are Dota2, LoL, BF4, AC4, Prototype2, CS Go, Total War II Rome, and as i said, doing games it doesn't happen. Only started after failing to install the 14.1 beta driver and going back to 13.2 driver. Already tried re-downloading and re-installing drivers both the 14.1 beta and the current 13.2. but same thing. Flickering lines appear when idling or just web browsing or just going thru pictures or files. It doesn't happen every time and as i am typing this, it hasn't happened at all. ( I included a photo of what I'm running while typing this) Its not a big deal, i just wanna know what seems to be happening, so i don't get paranoid about the components of my PC going out. Any help would be great. Planning to do a complete reformat of my PC so i can re install everything like its brand new. But don't wanna do anything yet as of now if there is some easy way of fixing it. Please help. (after 30 mins. of composing this i haven't seen any flickers) Run diag.exe and this is the results. diag.txt Added a photo of the components/configuration
