So yea, I bought the DT990 PROs like 2weeks ago and after being patience in the "break-in" period I these headphones are just uncomfortable on my head simply because the right ear keeps rubbing against the driver, earpads seem to be too shallow, I have tried fitting material under the pad but that hurts even more making the pad harder with even a very light clamping force. Was thinking of buying some 3rd parties earpads like Brainwavz or Dekori (can get expensive) but literally saw every review saying " any other pad that is not the OEMs will make the DT990 pretty bad.." so not really sure what to do. An alternative would be returning these babies and getting other headphones for a similar price range, maybe up to 200€ (bought the dt990s for 110€). Gotta say that I use the headphones mainly for gaming and just some music, I do enjoy the Vshape of the dt990s and the treble is not that bad even tho I'm new to this world as these are my first pair of "non gaming" headphones. Any help would be appreciated.

I need a mic to talk to friends when I am playing games, but I hate using over the ear headsets; for me, they are uncomfortable, they give me a headache, and they hurt my ears after a while. My problem is that over the ear headsets are the only way I know of to have a sidetone, I cannot use a headset without a sidetone. I would much rather use my earbuds/in-ear headphones. My question is what do I need to be able to use in-ear headphones and still have a sidetone so I can hear myself? I tried to figure it out myself but I know absolutely nothing about this sort of thing. I don't really want to spend a lot on this, whatever is cheapest will be good enough for me.

Hi all! So essentially, although I have the Audio-Technica ATH-M50x at home, I'm interested in buying a pair of headphones for $50 (or less) that I can use outdoors or for travel, preferably if they were over-ear. I'm open to all suggestions, as long as the headphones actually look good when you're wearing them, and that they, obviously, sound good (I'd rather not have over-powering bass, but I don't mind bass all that much). I need them to look good when I'm wearing them since I'll be taking this pair outdoors, and I don't want them to be some massive, bulky, weird looking cans. So far, all I've found are the m20x, which aren't bad, but I'm not sure about their aesthetics. I could use some more suggestions. Thanks in advance!

Hello, so I got this terrible ear infection, the doctor said that it's staphylococcus with fungus and those mixed infections are a common case. I was wondering if after getting my ear healthy, a replacement of whole headphones is needed, or just the pads (those are ath-m50x)

Hi there ! I am looking for a pair of headphones that are bass heavy and under 200-220$ I was personally thinking about the sony mdrxb950n1g since they are bluetooth/nfc with noise cancelling and the extra bass feature ? Any opinions on the headphones or sugestions ? Thanks!

Hey friends, I need a new pair of Earbuds. I'm on a very tight budget. Can only spend around 30$ on it. They don't necessarily need any Headset features, just a standard pair of stereo in-ear headphones. I hope some of you can recommend something. I am not a audiophile and don't have a particular sound preference. I listen to Rock, Pop and Classic music mostly. They will be used outside travelling (train, plane, etc .. - not car though, because that's bad! Looking at you Linus Sebastian). Thanks in advance :*

Hey Guys, I listen to music a lot and I want to upgrade from some standard Phillips earbuds to some nice cans. I listen to Progressive Metal bands like The Contortionist, CHON and The Helix Nebula. Occasionally I listen to heavier Djent bands like Periphery, Animals as Leaders and Volumes. Lastly I like to indulge in some Metalcore like Dead by April, Escape the Fate and The Fall of Troy. I want an over-ear headphone with nice sound isolation and not too much sound bleed so I can listen to music loud on the bus and so that I can hear music over the sound of my drums. They need to sound great without an amp (will be powered by my smartphone). Right now I'm looking at the Audio Technica ATH M50X's as they are known to sound great with any genre of music. Price range is $200-250 NZD. The M50X's are $230~. Any recomendations for over-ear headphones that sound great listening to Progressive Metal without an amp and are good for travel (buses), please leave the below =) Thanks!

Hi all, I'm currently looking for new headphones as my current ones are breaking slowly... Very slowly. I currently have Sharkoon Xtatic Digital 5.1. (analogue). I've had them for well over 5 years, but now the bass is cutting out often, and the left speaker is becoming quite. It also produces static if the Windows volume is over 19% which I have to lower by 1% every 1-2 months. They have been through a lot. From dropping them, to my cats having them as a feast, to the pins bending. It's about time they retire. So, I have a dedicated internal sound card that I am more than pleased with. Asus Essence STX II 7.1. I don't think the rest of my specs are needed, but if the are then I'll add them later, or you can find them on my page if needed. I need headphones that work well in games, but even better when listening to music. They MUST be analogue and true 5.1 / 7.1 surround sound. None of this USB or virtual rubbish. I would also like them to be over ear. I get pain if they are on ear, or in-ear. I play games often and love what 5.1 offers, it makes you apart of them game and I need to keep that. I also listen to a lot of music. When I'm not working then I'm either gaming, listening to music or watching anime. So headphones are a big part of my personal life. I listen to bassy music and love a good bit of base in game. I absolutely adore base. Base is love, base is life. I completely understand that bass can interfere with a gaming session. Like a frag grenade can over power every other sound in a game. That's not good, however in music the bass is a must. So in short I need a pair of headphones that can complete both tasks, rather than shining at one and lacking on the other. again, let me know if you need any more information regarding my system, headphones or general information. I have no idea what I'm looking for as I'm no expert, far from it. I'm just a consumer hoping to find what works best for me. My budget is around £100-200, £250 maximum. There must be an absolutely good reason to hit £250. I hope you can all help me 'cos it seems as if I'm unable to help myself!

Hey i'm looking for some good in-ear headphones for around 100€ ! I had Beyerdynamics DX160ie but they broke for the second time so i will ask the retailer to be refounded. The cable on these earphones are very fragile so i don't recommend them. Now i'm searching for in-ear headphones around the same price point Are the RHA MA-750 a good choice ? or the Sennheiser momentum in-ear ? Audio-Technica ATH-CKX9 ? Shure SE-215 (a bit more expensive)? And let me know if you know any other pair of headphones at this price point I don't need in line controls since i'm on android! I don't know how to describe the sound signature that i like but i love the sound of the Beyerdynamics DT 770 Pro

it happened twice today and it happens occasionally for no apparent reason this is the best video i can find that can describe it:

Welcome back to 2010! According to Huawei at any rate, with this smart band that transforms into your least favourite trend that mercifully died. Maybe thats a little harsh, maybe its entirely deserved. Lets not make these come back, can we? It seems ungainly designed and a little bulky. This echoes the industry pattern of not having a clue on how to actually make a proper band. A little crazy, this idea is. http://gizmodo.com/huawei-talkband-b2-half-fitness-band-half-earpiece-a-1688776420

I'm looking for a comfortable pair of Ear Cushions for my newly acquired akg k240s. With the stock pleather ear pads, my ears touch the driver which is very uncomfortable and furthermore, my ears get pretty sweaty on the leather. They should fit the following criteria. Velour type cushion; very soft and conforming. Fit the akg k240s (duh) Be thick enough so my ears don't touch the driver Be less than $30 ($15-20 is kinda a sweet spot for me) Please no Amazon links since I'm in Aus-land (ebay is fine tho)

I need a new pair of earbuds. I have been using Skullcandys for a while now, usually the ink'd or the 50/50's. I like them but the keep breaking on me. They just crackle then stop working while in my ear. So my friend works a Best Buy and he only pays what best buy pays +10% so I was going to get some beats cause they are only like $40 through him but I feel like they are over rated and there are better sounding headphones around that price range. Criteria Good sound quality (I listen to pretty much everything but mainly house) And I kinda like it when its bass heavy Doesn't look stupid If you guys got any ideas it would be great!

Hey guys! So some of you told me not to buy Razer's Adaro in-ears, so I looked around again. I found the Beyerdynamics DTX101iE/DTX102iE. Does anyone have those / recommend those? I've heard the sound quality should be very good. I'm coming from 20€ in-ears so I'm not audiophile, but I want to try something better as I used to hear. I'll be using them on my iPhone 4S mainly. Thanks already

researchers at Princeton University see as the future of tissue engineering, and they believe 3-D printing is the way there. Michael McAlpine and members of his lab recently reported that a 3-D printer could build a bionic ear capable of detecting frequencies a million times higher than the normal range of hearing. To start off I was trying to open a text on file LibreOffice in Ubuntu 13.10 from a 64GB USB 3.0 stick and then I got all these errors telling something about being copy protected, disptite the fact I made that text file, so I thought I i'll try to open it Windows 8.1 Pro with OpenOffice to see if the OS is the problem as I have had this problem before, but strangely when I press shutdown I got the option lock or sign out. I tried pressing sign out, but nothing happened, so I did a soft reboot by press the reset button and loaded up into Windows 8.1 Pro. After that, the USB was no reconized so I removed it and put it back in again, this time able to reconzie it... Then I got ear raped by the sound of the notication when plugging in a USB device while wearing my headphones. I shortly after foundout the sound is on full blast, though what makes it even weirder is that the volume is only on 6%, so I tried it on 1% and it was just as loud, then I tried a youtube video which gave the excat same results. I loaded back into Ubuntu 13.10 and tested the sound on that and found no problems (apart from the fact I can never get it to go above 16bit, 44100Hz or get surround sound). Next I logged back into Windows 81. Pro by having to press the reset button again to get out of Ubuntu, just messed around with the sound settings but no luck. If you need to know my soundcard is a Asus Xonar DS | low profile | 192000Hz | 24bit Help will be appreciated! UPDATE: the sound on Windows is not working properly now I have muted the sound on Ubuntu before shutting down.

Hey guys, I got my Razer Kraken 7.1 a few weeks ago since I wanted decent v-surround, a good mic and a USB-soundcard since I'm stuck with some onboard-crap. Well they were just as painfull to my ears after 1-2 hours of wearing them as any other closed headset that I tried (e.g. Roccat Kave 5.1, Creative Soundblaster Rage USB). I used a Sennheiser PC166 until now, also USB, but it got a little messy and I wanted a closed one. The only thing with the Kraken is that it doesnt hurt right away like the other ones, but just after those hours of use because the earpads get pushed in and let the speakers push against my ears. So I tried bending it a little and putting it under pressure for some time so it would break in but that was no success. I also like the mic on the Kraken (although my Sennheiser still was better) and I can live with the bassy sound of Razer audio-products (still prefer decent balance). I'm not that much of a fan of the idea of good headphones and a clip-on-mic, weither it's on the cable or the headphones, so I want to know the following: Do you have any idea how I could "boost" the earpads on the Kraken so they don't get pushed in so easily? I mean Linus wears them on the WAN-show almost every time and doesn't complain about pain on the ears. I already searched for replacements for the earpads themselfes but I couldn't find any and the Razer support also turned me down. Unfortunately it's too late for me to return them so I have to stick with them (gave them too much time to hopefully break in - big mistake). I will think about a way to get a decent soundcard (tending to ASUS Xonar DX 7.1) and maybe a Sennheiser PC360 with it but until then it will take some time. Thanks in advance! Kind regards, Trek

Heya Guise! After getting into the audio game with my ad700x's and Fiio e10 with great recommendations from @h264 I'm really enjoying the wide soundstage and airy feel of them, suprizingly good for gaming too. Though for out and about use I was looking into getting some earbuds/IEM's, just for listening to tunes out walking or not having to packup my headphone setup every time I go to my fathers. Some Criteria: My budget is around the $100 AUD mark give or take a few postage or pickup availabilty within mebourne. I'd like for them to wrap around the back of my ear Low profile so I'm able to ley on my side with my head against the pillow without discomfort If there's anything at http://www.noisymotel.com/ that'd be great, they're really good to deal with and their postage is free Cheers!
