I have a 55GB file that i want to upload to a server where i can give people the link and then them be able to download it. My budget is around £15/$20 a month. I would prefer a 1Gbps port but 100Mbps is fine. I'd imagine i will be using about 10TB of transfer a month maybe less so either a unmetered or high bandwidth connection is best. What would be the best way for me to do this? Would it be just storing it on a service such as Google drive and paying for a bigger drive space? I plan to upload other large files in the future so 200GB+ of space will be required sooner rather than later. Or would the other best way to be to buy a cheap dedicated server or vps? Any recommendations and thanks for your help. Luke.

So I live in Indonesia, things maybe different here, I don't know. But all I need to do is open a port so I can access my server remotely. Because the ISP provide a modem/router you must request port forwarding from them. But then they tell you its only for private IP, so I cannot open ports to the actual internet. In order to do so i need to upgrade to a dedicated plan, which is usually for big businesses. And as you imagine it's expensive. And yet I have cctv access.. So somethings not right here Is this common? Or is there a way around this? Another option I'd like to utilise is VPNing into my server but that seems to fail also. Maybe for the same reason.. Looking for any advice to access my server remotely. I'll upgrade if I have to. But it just seems unnecessary.

Hey all! I'm planning on putting an 8600GT in a computer with an RX570. The reason for this is to use its native VGA with my CRT monitor (which matches the sleeper case I have for it ), which throws fits when using DP and HDMI to VGA adapters. From what I know about laptop graphics, you can switch a program to use dedicated graphics from onboard solutions; but what happens when you have two discrete graphics cards? Is the age difference too large between the two cards to use any form of pass-through? If it matters, the board I'm using these in has an X370 chipset, with one of the two x16 PCIe slots running at x4 (preferably with the 8600GT) and will be paired with a Ryzen 2600.

Hey guys. I have a little trouble. I am a company president that provides educational services online. My page consists of people flowing in and clicking at least 5pages until they get to the product. Our product consists of people filling out reports online and then printing them for their personal use or saving them on the server which is cloud based as of right now. I'm having trouble because current server has php 5.1 which is not recommended and when upgrading it many bugs surface or objects are not recognized by the updated version of php. Now, I am having this trouble because of money and time since my computer scientist can do the work but has not had the sufficient time. Anyway, this is not the main problem since it has been working fine until right now. But, now we are going to have 10x of usual traffic (e.g. more users, more clicks, more saving, but not uploading). I have been told that I should move the hosting site since it is shared. I need top notch security, upgrading php and the page to react fast. I need to know which server to use VPS or Dedicated for the insurance of functionality and downtime. Should I get the dedicated for a little bit more? Willing to spend up to $150.00 monthly. Where should I look for that kind of server? Who has had the experience with something like this? A tip would be nice. Thank you guys JV

I'm doing a new 1440p build with hopefully 2 monitors. Only, I just have a GTX 1070 to run them. 1 monitor will be at 1440p and 1 at 1080p. I was hoping to use the 1440p as a content creator and gaming monitor while the 1080p monitor will just be used for Google etc. I came here to ask if anyone knows if its possible to plug my 1440p monitor into my 1070 and my 1080p monitor into my integrated graphics motherboard? If you are suggesting to upgrade the GPU, Please don't.

So I'm thinking about making a dedicated Minecraft server machine. I'm new to making a gaming server. So how necessary will a GPU be? and will it need to be a great one, or just like a meh one?

Hi, So I was thinking of running my old laptop as a dedicated server host, where I could plug into my router with a Ethernet cable and run servers (minecraft, gmod, etc.) for me and my friends. Now, I upgraded my laptop (Sony Vaio PCG41411) to windows 10 and it runs okay, its just I was wondering that if I changed the OS to Ubuntu Linux 16.04 it would be better for its job of dedicated server host. Thanks, jtpjr

Would ryzen 5 1600 or other work well for dedicated game server hosting? Games: Unturned and DST both running 24/7 with 30 players at max, each from DST need 65ram and Unturned similar, so it probably doesn't require much performance. Thanks for all info!

So I'm trying to dedicate one of my GPU's (GT 1030) to OBS Studio. It works really well in OBS Classic when I select the GT 1030, just doesn't work with OBS Studio. According to my research the GT 1030 has the ability to use NVENC encoding (which I also tested in Classic and works). Then again when I select "GPU 1 in OBS Studio under the NVENC setting at fails to start recording. So why would OBS Classic work but OBS Studio not. What bothers me more is I found some videos that claim the GT 7xx series through the gt 10xx series don't have encoders. Do I need a GTX??

TL;DR Anyone have before and after temps, after upgrading from an igpu? I'm looking to gather some data on whether or not upgrading from an igpu to a dedicated card has a major impact on overall system temperatures. I've tried googling it, searching various forums, and just generally asking around. But no one seems to have any hard data. Like at all. No one seems to care about the temperatures before and after, under the same work load. I'm looking to upgrade my system with a gpu, but no increase the work load. I just want to lower the overall temps in the case. My build right now: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/rFLCNN and I'm looking to put in: MSI RX 550 2gb https://www.amazon.com/MSI-RX-550-2GT-LP/dp/B072S87MKT/ref=sr_1_2?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1509346476&sr=1-2&keywords=msi+550 I do plan on removing the fan assembly due to space restrictions. I am building inside an xbox 360. So far my temps are in the 30's for general productivity and hd video. But even playing older games (Halo CE, Witcher 1) I'm seeing temps go up to the 60's. Newer games on low to medium settings play well enough, with the temps going even higher, into the 70's at times. Now I know these are all within operating tolerances, but I don't like the sound of the fans spinning up to compensate. Breaks the illusion of playing on an actual 360. This ended up being longer that I had planned.

graphics card Switching from Dedicated to Integrated Graphics
Edercina posted a topic in Graphics Cards
I've got work to do between two PCs. Specifically, I want to transplant an nVidia GT 630 from the older one. The PCs are both HP pre-builts pulled from an office: a dc7800 CMT and an 8200 Elite. After the card was installed in the 7800, the integrated drivers were uninstalled. Now I've found what the HP website claims is the driver installer and I'm wondering about the order in which things should be done. Would it be safe to just install the integrated graphics driver, even though I already have nVidia drivers running? -
Currently our business is at 15 users doing basic CAD design work. We don't do any rendering, we don't do any virtualization and don't have any plans to in the near future. Our current server is a shared file server for design projects and that is it. Big Boss comes in today and says that he is getting us a new dedicated server, and that it is going to have 300GB+ of RAM because the server sales people told him he needed that much for "future expansion." Now to me, that seemed a little bit excessive and shocking at first hearing, but I wasn't really sure and I didn't want to speak up because I haven't messed around with servers very much. That is why I wanted to check in with you guys here at the Linus forums to make sure that my boss isn't getting scammed. Is 300GB+ of RAM for a 15 user file server too much, too little, or what do you think a recommended number might be?

So currently I'm in a bit of a predicament. I have two monitors I want to use but I keep running into more walls. Another thread I posted recently concluded in me gaining some interesting information. Apparently, you cannot plug two analog signals into one graphics card. I'm not sure why this would be an issue, and I have searched some other forums about this. Other forums say otherwise on this issue, but another issue I am running into is being able to run one monitor off dedicated graphics and another off of integrated graphics. I have searched my BIOS but it appears I cannot turn integrated graphics back on after I plug in a dedicated graphics card. Some people still have gotten this to work, and I have previously gotten my old HP Compaq to work with a low profile graphics card and integrated graphics. Can anyone answer the numerous questions I have?

Problem: My laptop has an amd apu with integrated graphics. These integrated graphics seem to block the dedicated GPU from activating in games. Games automatically select the integrated graphics. And since the apu can't handle games from 8 years before it's manufacturing it gets quite anoying. I like to use my dedicated GPU in games instead of my APU if anyone knows how to fix this i'd be so grateful Specs: - Model: HP Pavilion 17-f084nd - CPU: AMD A8-6410 APU with AMD Radeon R5 Graphics* - GPU: AMD Radeon R5 Graphics* (APU), AMD Radeon R7 M260 - RAM: 6,00GB Single-Channel DDR3 @ 798MHz - MOBO: Hewlett-Packard 226B (P0) - BIOS version: F.11 *The R5 Graphics aren't specified. It actually sais R5 graphics http://imgur.com/a/6I3qc Device manager: http://imgur.com/a/TiRUL Tried solutions: Updating the drivers for every component, obviously. Installing AMD Radeon control center Source: https://support.serato.com/hc/en-us/articles/202305784-Changing-graphics-card-settings-to-use-your-dedicated-GPU-on-a-Windows-computer- However when I did it I seemed to lack quite a few options as seen here http://imgur.com/a/NvXwc Changing settings inside the bios Source: http://superuser.com/questions/940410/laptop-refuses-to-use-dedicated-gpu And again my bios lacks the advanced section that the person in the article had. http://imgur.com/a/S8Mbj Messing around with disabling devices and drivers. Disable R5 graphics ----> restart Disable R7 graphics ----> restart Disable R5 and R7 graphics -----> restart Disable R5 drivers ------ Restart Disable both drivers ------> restart nothing worked If you need any more information feel free to ask

Hi Guys, Looking for some insight on this if i could, as my own research has left me little confused. I have an old HP Business PC sitting at home with an i7-3770s cpu with a GT-430 & 8GB of RAM. i was looking to set this up as my dedicated stream PC via NDI, what i am hoping to achieve is a 720p60 possibly a 900p60 stream on the faster/fast preset at a 4500 bitrate. What do you think? is this viable? any thoughts are much appreciated. Many Thanks

Well, first, english is not my first language so apologys for mi typing. Tight your seatbelts because this is LONG (and i have no idea how to condense more, as i said, its not my first languange, and i learned alone). I have a problem with mi bios, or S.O, idk. I bought my "low budget gaming" pc. It has 2x8GB of DDR4 2400Mhz (stock, for now), my Ryzen 5 2400G, 240GB of M.2 storage and a single HDD (rescued from an old notebook, 320GB). Power supply 650 Watts 80 Plus Silver (i don't remember the brand, but is full modular). The motherboard is the Gigabyte AB350 Gaming 3 (with the lastest bios F31). I bought the X4 Foundations, and with the out of the box configurations in my bios the game doesn't lauch. Nope, nothing. I went to the "chipset" options in the bios, all was set to automatic, and putting only 1GB of "dedicated" Vram. I changed the "automatic" option and set to "force" the integrated GPU, new options, great. Set the "UMA Mode" from "Automatic" to "UMA Fixed", new option, at this point, AMAZING (new technology to me, so i was a little scared and not sure what to do really). Set the "Frame Buffer Size to "2G"" (it ranges from "64MB" to "16G", i assume is GB). GREAT, the game is playable.... until.... CTD after more or less 1 hour of playing it. Game reported "not enough memory available". I went to the "dxdiag" and see 2GB of Vram, and nearly 8GB of shared memory. After diving in the rabbithole turns out that the game is forbid to use the shared memory as per the devs. OOOOKAY... go to the bios, changed "2G" to "4G" in the "Frame Buffer Size" (minimum for the game from the posted specs is 3GB of Vram), save and exit. Windows start, i go straight to the game, half our later, CTD AGAIN!. At this point i'm fuming. Go to "dxdiag" again. WHAT?, 2GB of "dedicated Vram", same as before, same shared memory and everything. Go to Bios again, and start changing to "8G", same, "16G", same. Go to "1G", windows take that (insert confused face here). Went again, changed to "512MB", windows take that. Is the same across all selections. From "64MB" up until "2G", it's functioning, after that, nothing, only stays at "2GB of dedicated memory". Windows is sometimes stupid reporting information about the sistem, so i RAN EVERYTHING. GPU-Z, check. AIDA64, check. Unigine Valley, check. Uningine Heaven, check. Overclocking tools (from gigabyte all the way down to ryzenmaster), check. All reports 2GB of "dedicated" Vram. Anyone has a comment on this? same problem? or it's just me?. Another settings to modify in the bios? I have installed my copy of windows without UEFI, that is said, to enter the bios i don't have to go through the options in windows to acces it. ¿Maybe thats the problem? I searched for all day (it's my day off), and i have not came across anything like my problem and at this point, im out of options. This is why this post. Thanks, and have a great day you all.

I’m not a forum guy, but I don’t know where else to turn to get my question answered. I’ve searched everywhere and nobody seems to know the answer to my question, they all just speculate. So for those of you that think you know a thing or two about GPUs: If I have dual 4K monitors connected to my PC extending the desktop, and one is connected to the dedicated GPU and the other is connected to the onboard graphics (due to limited port options), which is used for processing graphics, and how can I tell? If I want to use the dedicated GPU to process CAD work, can I only use CAD programs on the monitor that’s connected directly to the GPU? Will connecting to the integrated graphics bypass the dedicated graphics? I do IT work for a fairly large company, and they don’t want to replace all the old GPUs with newer ones, so I’m stuck with the old 1x VGA 1x HDMI and 1x DVI ports. IMHO that is the dumbest design and oversight in our solar system, because if I want to connect 2 monitors, and I want those monitors to be identical, they need to have several types of inputs. Worse, if I want to connect 3, they all need to have all 3- VGA, HDMI, and DVI, or I need to defile my setup with some stupid adapter. Hence, I resort to using the HDMI and Display Port built into the motherboard, which I assume are using onboard graphics. My concern, seeing as the employees at my company are engineers and use AutoCAD and the like, is that this is killing their performance. Is it? Who can answer my question?

Hey people! I'm trying to find some help and tips about building a dedicated streaming PC. I have a ps4 with a external capture card and 2 monitors so I think I wouldn't need a GPU right? I want to look for a Ryzen 5 2400G build. My budget is around 500 bucks.

Hi, Im wondering if theres any way to force my gpu to always be the graphics processor even though im not in a game. I've had to plug my one monitor into the iGpu port on the motherboard but i can notice chrome lacking behind when playing two streams of video at the same time. Ive never had this problem before but since i got a 1080 i lacked an input that i used before. Any help would be appreciated. :)

Hey everyone! Long time since I’ve posted. So today I’m getting a new monitor. It’s a 34” 3440x1440 untrawide (a decent upgrade from my 23” 1080p IPS display. Currently I run an i7 and an RTX 2070. I’ve been streaming and recording The Division 2 with ease however this is at 1080p. I’m thinking it will be more resource intensive to record at the new resolution (which I want to record at that resolution). To prevent bogging down the RTX or having to dumb down my graphics any, I’m wondering if I can use another GPU to do recording/whatever. I have a GTX 960/1060? (I need to look). If I put this in my system with the RTX (obv not SLI) what kind of stuff could I do with it? Or is it prob more worth my time to just sell the old card and get a second PC for recording / streaming? Thanks in advance for any light that can be shed on this!

i cant help but notice that chrome has an option for running it with our dedicated GPU. cant seem to find anything different in how it runs, or perhaps it impacts something else? curious to know what you guys think, answers are appreciated.

I'm sure the answer to this question is somewhere on the forum but since I can't find it, here's the question. I am looking to build a new pc but have reached a crossroads where the cpu is concerned. I can get a better, cheaper cpu (on paper) but it comes with integrated graphics or I can get a slightly more expensive but slightly less powerful (on paper) cpu without integrated graphics. I plan on using a dedicated graphics card in the machine so the integrated graphics doesn't bother me much but my question is, can I put a dedicated graphics card in the same machine that already has integrated graphics or do I have to go with the none integrated graphics solution for stability and ease of use. The computer will be used for both gaming and productivity.

I'm considering getting a dedicated SSD for running adobe products to keep them separate from my other programs. I'm debating between installing them on a different drive and running the media cache there or installing both on the dedicated drive. Is it likely to cause performance issues if I run them on the same drive as the media cache?

Hi, is there a way that i can stop my laptop (Dell XPS 15 9560 4K) from using the integrated graphics. i want to completely deactivate it, if that is possible? i have problems with some programs not recognizing the dedicated card, and cant use it. even though set the Nvidia graphics control to only use the dedicated card.
