Hi so I'm running the R5 5600x and I haven't seen it boost every to 4.0 ghz its just stuck at 3.68 ghz. I don't know why though. How would I fix this. Pretty sure in every game its stuck not sure though. I was playing fortnite and same thing stuck at 3.68 ghz I capped the gam at 200 frames if that does anything. Reason I an using for as a sort of a benchmark (not really though) Is i was having some fps drops and stutter I was able to alleviate some of the micro stutters and drops but not still present even so. Basically just ddu installed newer drivers and switch to dx12. But the clock speed is just stuck at 3.68 ghz. My ram is 16gb 3200mhz. I know there might be some bios setting that might help or be the problem but to afaird to touch any possible overclocking settings till I know more. So any help would be great Thanks in advance

Apparently I broke the overclocking world record by 4x, all without liquid helium, a cheap AIO is all I needed :) Seriously, anyone knows what is going on here? Is there a way to get the correct Values? A defect of the MoBo or a Bios bug? Already contacted Asus and will report back.

I have an Asus F570zd laptop, with a Ryzen 5 2500u cpu and GTX 1050 4GB gpu, and 8 GB single channel RAM. My cpu, gpu, bios and windows is up-to-date. Whenever I play valorant, I get sub-par FPS for my setup as I get 70-100 fluctuating fps on lowest settings, 720p. It's the same for 1080p as well. I've observed that my cpu core clocks/threads keep fluctuating dramatically between 1.5 GHz and 3 GHz. I even get frequent stutters, and I've noticed (using msi afterburner + rtss) that whenever my game hangs my gpu usage goes to 0%. The stutters are also more frequent during the beginning of each match. My iGPU and dGPU both reach 70 degrees tops while gaming, and CPU reaches 78-81 degrees tops. When I play It Takes Two, the cpu has no problem at least keeping and maintaining clock speeds around and above 2.2 GHz at all times while even reaching 86-87 degrees. I've also reinstalled valorant twice but no effect. Changing power plans between Ultimate performance, bitsum highest performance and ryzen balanced didn't make much of a difference. Any help? I recently just assembled a budget gaming pc composing of these specs: -Intel Core I5-3470 CPU (Stock Cooler) -Kingston 1x8GB 1866MHz RAM -Gigabyte GA-H61M-DS2 MOBO (Limits the RAM to 1333mHz) -Palit NVIDIA GTX 1050 GPU -Western Digital Green 2TB HDD -SilverStone Strider Essential 500W PSU -Unactivated Windows 10 I have recently just built this PC and have only installed the GPU Drivers and Malwarebytes and as well as Steam and my games. Now, I am particularly a fan of Dota 2, and I'm very sad to see that in 1080p Ultra (or even just High) settings, my average FPS is only around 65-70 and drops heavily down to 50 or even as low as 45 during intensive clashes. This is a real letdown for me since I upgraded from a I3-3220 to an I5-3470 just for this game (because it is more CPU intensive, and the i3-3220 only has 2 cores). Even worse is that I chose the i5-3470 because reviews on YouTube (specially one by TechYESCity) because lots of benchmarks on there showed Dota 2 with the same CPU having averaging 100+ fps and dipping only to 90fps during heavy clashes. TechYESCity's video also compared it to the Ryzen 3 2200G in several games, and it seemed to be on par with it and was actually usable in 2019. Running statistics on RivaTuner, I see that my CPU is indeed using 100% (I ran a benchmark lasting 5 mins at a lategame replay in Dota, where fights become more chaotic) and is running at 55°C - 60°C at 3.2GHz, which confuses me because it says it can Turbo to 3.6GHz and other benchmarks show their i5-3470s at least getting 3.4GHz I'm not an expert or anythig, so the only thing I can say is it's maybe either because the MoBo is old and I haven't updated the BIOS or Chipset or whatever it's called, or maybe because I have an Unactivated Windows 10 (will buy soon). I don't think it's because of Malware because I've only just built this PC with nothing else but games and movies, and I have malwarebytes installed and have run it and cleared any threats. I want to run this game on High FPS even just at 90fps so that I can use my monitor's 75Hz refresh rate (This is also recent and I have wanted to try this, but so far, has only been achieved on medium-low settings on Dota 2). Any ideas or suggestions are appreciated!

Is it normal if my cpu go to lower than base clock. Ex. Ryzen 5 2600 with 3.4ghz. when idle its going to 3.2-3.3ghz. Sorry for this strange question. I only know cpu only run at base clock - max clock.

Hey guys, Alex here I was thinking of overclocking my gtx 970 ( mostly for the kicks ) and i watched a couple guides online on how to do it, since i had not earlier experience . So basically all i did was to take the presets from tech guru and apply them to my Geforce GTX 970 g1 gaming with the Evga Precision Tool So i added 87 mv 12% on power Raised Temp limit to 91 added 150 to CPU clock and 500 mhz to memory Now after that, i run Unigine valley and FurMark and i noticed some white dots on furmark and after some time both programs crashed.(i was not runing bot of them at the same time , in case you were wondering if i am a complete moron ) I tried lowering the core clock to 140 and memory clk to 400 Eventoually even though unigine didnt crash Furmark did and i removed the oc So i since im a noob . Should i stop trying before i fry my pc or scream PcMasterRace and increase votlage to 200 while i drink the tears of all the console peasants? BTW How does increasing the VOLTAGE help me achieve greater overclocks? Thank you very much you have my respect! Have fun PS: feel free to call me and idiot

Ok I'm planning on doing a new build and I have a question will overclocking your cpu give you more fps in games like battle field or should I just save money and get a non-K cpu and a hyper 212 or some cheap after market cooler? Thanks.
