Good day. Since Black Friday is around the corner, I thought I'd save enough for a GPU, since I'm using an Athlon 3000g and bought a R7 5800x thinking it'd suffice until I get to buy a GPU. Aiming high, I found that EVGA's FTW3 3070 Ultra is at a price that I could probably afford ($800 USD aprox.). Sounds good to me, but then I found that EVGA's XC3 3070 Ti Ultra sometimes goes $50 USD cheaper than the aforementioned 3070. Sounded like a good deal to me! Until I watched O!Technology's tier list video for the 3070 and 3070 Ti. Reading through Reddit, I have found arguments that the worst 3070 Ti would be better than the best 3070. But, considering thermals and noise, I then found myself doubting if that'd be true. Question then being, should I choose the "better" priced Ti or should I go for the better ranked 3070? And considering the rumors of upgraded models for the 30 series, should I wait for those instead? Could some one look over the specs I might be considering please.

Since June 2018, the government of Canada has been consulting Canadians on what data privacy and protection rights Canadians believe they should have, and there are various forms Canadians can use to respond to their government's questions about things such as, 'who should own people's data (the individual people, or corporations)?', 'does it matter whether the data is anonymous or not?', and 'what new regulations does Canada need to protect data and data privacy?'. And so, if you're interested in digital rights in Western countries, then I encourage you to also check out Open Media's main website: https://openmedia.org/ Another of Canada's independent public advocacy groups, Lead Now, has an online petition calling for a change to Canada's privacy protection laws to take into account digital privacy: Act immediately to update privacy protection laws to protect Canadians and their privacy. Lead Now is focused on "environmental policy, workers rights, education, and proportional representation", so I don't expect significant action from them on the matter of data and data-privacy rights. Correspondingly, their petition is simplistic and hasn't received much attention and is buried on their website. --------------------------------------------------------- I believe it is imperative that Canada follows California's lead in implementing data rights protections that take effect before any data is even collected, mandating that all people receive the easy-access ability to choose to never have their data collected in the first place, or to choose to allow it to be collected but never sold - and, extremely importantly, all while guaranteeing people the right to equal service and price regardless of which data privacy settings they choose. I also believe it is essential that Canada's digital rights acknowledge the violations of existing laws currently taking place by data harvesters: All data that is harvested by companies like Microsoft, Google, and Facebook is generated exclusively by unjustifiably exploiting the following: People's personally-owned electricity, their hardware, the housing for their hardware, their software, their time, and their unique activity. When a corporation makes non-licensed commercial usage of all those things, they are stealing and are guilty of the crime of unjust enrichment. This is morally wrong and is also already a legally wrong Corporations collecting people's data against their wishes, and then commercializing and profiting off of people's personal electricity, hardware, housing, software, time, and unique activity is no different than a person who runs a bitcoin-mining system that hooks up to their neighbour's electricity without their permission. It is left, without a doubt. And the benefits corporations receive from the data that was generated by the properties of individuals constitutes the prosecutable crime of unjust enrichment. Again, it is no different for a company to collect people's data and use it for their profit and benefit than for a person to create a malware bot-net virus that infects millions of PCs and feeds data back to the company, or which stealthily mines crypto-currencies on people's computers while the proceeds that are mined are transferred to the company's own digital currency wallet. All of the aspects of aspects of contemporary corporate exploitations of personal and personally-owned data are already crimes and clear examples of commercialization of people's private property without a license: - the unauthorized (and free of coercion) entry and access to people's computer systems and personal data (breaking and entering) - the non-authorized and non-willed (and free of coercion) using of people's hardware, software, and electricity to generate non-essential-to-requested-function data to be harvested (misuse of property) - the non-authorized and non-willed (and free of coercion) modification of the data and state of people's PC systems, the contents of their CPU, RAM, and ethernet pipelines, the unapproved storage of telemetry, the forced installation of patches (vandalism) - the non-willed (and free of coercion) harvesting of personal and personally-owned data (theft) - the non authorized (and free of coercion) profiting or benefiting off of that data (unjust enrichment) It is atrocious that these types of things have already been going on for as long as they have. Corporations are only getting away with it right now because the realization and understanding of what is happening hasn't sunk in yet to the public's awareness. People haven't processed the situation, and have been immersed in these services for so long while being unaware of what was going on that they now are in a dazed state about it all and don't know what it means. If it was decided that companies may use my, your, and anybody's PC hardware, software, electricity, etc, for the company's profit, that would be saying that I and you, or anyone can also use those companies' property and resources for my, your, etc profit (something I'm sure would get us sued in an instant), and that I can tap my neighbour's electricity, and can appropriate their property for my own uses at my sole discretion. Obviously, it is well understood that things don't work that way, and that is the point - things do not and must not work that way including if not especially for corporations. To decide otherwise will be to have decided that people are slaves and property of corporations and that their lives and privacy are secondary to selfish corporate wants. To me, Europe's GDPR is pretty underwhelming and tries to sound like it is addressing data rights and privacy concerns, but to me appears to do little more than require companies to point out that they're collecting data and then just carry on as they were doing before while enabling GDPR legislators to receive undue positive PR while in reality they avoided addressing the core and crux of the matter and haven't secured people's data to be fully within people's control free of punishing consequences for exercising their right to control their data. Therefore, I believe Canada should not design any future domestic regulations along Europe's example (though, Europe's effort was important to get the discussion and action going), but more closely along California's example, and then taking what was learned from Europe's GDPR and California's CPA and taking things further from there to ensure that Canadians' personal and personally-owned data (which any data generated by the electricity, hardware, software, and processing capabilities of people's own PCs is) is never up for bargain against corporate profits. I have this plan for starting my own business and I would appreciate any thoughts or feedback on it (especially those who already work in IT or are majoring in CS). I'm planning on getting a masters degree in accounting and then becoming CPA certified. I then hope to get a few accounting jobs to get some experience so I can get a better idea on how to run a business. From that point, I was thinking about going back to school and getting a associates degree in computer networking. From there, I'd like to gradually start my own business fixing computers and networks and serving as a consultant for local businesses around my area. However, this is where I grow concerned: is an associates degree in computer networking worth anything? Will it give me enough knowledge to then begin designing or fixing corporate networks? Should I get a B.S in computer networking or do you guys believe Computer Science would be a wiser choice? I was in CS briefly but I didn't like it because I never came to love programming (I like it only as a hobby). Thanks for the help!
