At most, I will only change out the GPUs and storages if needed. FYI, I have a 24 TB 4-Bay NAS system (with 2 Bays still vacant), so I can still make do with 2-3 HDDs if needed for the above case choices.

Budget (including currency): 300-600$ Country: USA Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Web browsing work : visual studio code IDE, nodejs, python gaming: nvidia geforce now, microsoft xbox cloud ratio: 95% for work/web browsing, 5% for gaming from the cloud Other details : I already have a 32inch monitor, I would like to fit everything into a case with the smallest fingerprint without scarifying "too much" the thermo. I like the style of the fractal terra but I still find it too big. I am hesitating to go with one of the prebuilt beelink / minisforum I've put a baseline, but I think it's way overkill for my usage: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/PfbMJM Thanks !

Budget (including currency): ~1000-1100$ Country: Ukraine Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Nothing in particular, just an all-capable build Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Hello, I need some help with my first build. I have been using laptop all my life so I have no experience at all I have only one monitor and peripherals available so I need to get everything else I wanted to make it into around 1000$ but it seems to be really tough to achieve with local prices. I would prefer to cut the price where possible but I don't really want to cheap out too much and deal with issues later Here is what I came with after few weeks of research: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/LsyzbK (the prices are set local average from https://hotline.ua/) My main concern are the brands and models and the common issues that come with them. I have read a lot of reviews and the amount of defectives is really high. The stores here have really bad reputation when it comes to dealing with warranty and defective stuff so I would want to go with the most safe option available for its price Is the mobo good enough? Is ram compatible wit it? Is the cooler quite? Is the psu good enough? What about sdd/hdd? I also have been looking for some decent budget case that would be quite and had a good ventilation but I couldn't manage to come up with anything without some serious flaws I would appreciate any advises and improvements you can find here I also plan to get some 144hz 2nd monitor but I probably will look up for the used one for that

Heyho .) i am in kind of a weird situation, I could buy a new MB, CPU and RAM now or should I wait another year for ddr5 new amd socket and so on. I do not update my pc that often, I bought my system back in ´12, yes I am still rocking a 3570K with 24gb of Ram and a 3080 I got at retail. Shocker. I know the CPU is a bottleneck, I am fully aware of that. Thing is, I would rather spend more money now and have a running system for the next 10 years then buy into a dying standard. This is the last iteration of the AM4 Socket / boards. There won’t be anything new released. Same deal with RAM, we are on the end of life on these parts. My crystalball won´t give me any useful answers, can you help ? I kinda scared of blowing 1000€ in my system that is going to be not only superseded by the next generation but more or less stumped into the ground ( if roumors are to belived). Wait for the new one i hear you rant, but, how is the availabilty going to be, Gen1 bugs ? and so on... Liebe Grüße !

Hi everyone! I am new to the forums so I hope I am posting this in the right place to begin with, but basically due to the CPU and GPU exorbitant prices and lack of stock, I saw my self in the only option and need to buy a pre-built PC from MSI; for some additional context I am from Mexico and some friends in the US snatched it for me at a decent price as a surprise because in my country is almost impossible to get a decent built for an affordable price. I am stoked and excited but I want to ground my self and be as objective as a can for my path forward, right below is the specs given by the webpage as to what the PC has and I was hoping you guys could help me to select or plan what is missing from it as in cooling, extra storage, different types of mounts or whatever it may be, and to plan a upgrade path into the future. I have a basic knowledge of computers but I have never really built one and this is the closest thing I will get for a time (damn the world, the economy and third world problems.) I should mention that I am not sure of the type of motherboard or ram that it has for it misses to point out the specific models so if anyone knows for sure that might help. Also, I know is nor high end PC, I know I could have bought something better if I had built it my self but understand that is not as simple for me due to monetary and geographical issues and there is no need to get into detail or be told that the PC sucks, first ever gaming PC of my own don't want to come crashing down... please... I appreciate the assistance that you may provide from the bottom of my heart and thank you all upfront! https://us-store.msi.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=20_259_272&product_id=704

Please bear with me on my first post to the LTT Forum! Budget (including currency): ~$1200 Country: USA Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Gaming (Modded Skyrim and Fallout, Anno, maybe some shooters), Streaming (mentioned games and living room concerts), Video Editing (Adobe Premiere), Music Production Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): I've been a MacBook Pro person for about a decade as music was really all I've been concerned about. Now that I'm teaching online and want to expand my work possibilities, I want to be able to make videos and stream video games/ private concerts. My MacBook has been okay at this, but it's taking a lot of abuse and I'd prefer to keep my Intel MacBook alive as long as possible. My brother is also looking to upgrade/build a PC in 6 or so months, and some of these parts may be passed on to him if I decide later to upgrade the CPU, to DDR5, to an AIO Cooler, etc. Also a reason why WiFi in the Mobo may be useful. Here's my parts list: GPU: EVGA 2080 Super (already purchased) Not Purchased/ Looking at: Case: Lian Li O11 Air Mini Snow White - I love this case and it seems to be small enough to move between locations if necessary, while also being compatible with ATX size components to avoid a cost premium. Pretty set on this one. CPU: Intel 12600K- Middle ground that I shouldn't need to upgrade soon but can also play around with OC. If Rocket Lake is irresistible, the 12600K may get passed on. CPU Cooler: Either a Scythe Fuma 2 or a Deepcool AK620. I'd like to have minimal noise while maintaining as much headroom as possible for potential OC. (AK620 seems better suited to this) Also may pass this on if I upgrade to an AIO later Motherboard: Asus Prime Z690-P WIFI D4 ATX (WiFi would be nice to have since alot of the places I stay have no way to route ethernet) Might pass this one on if for some reason I find that DDR5 is needed. I'm a beginner and would like to get my feet wet with some overclocking. Nothing crazy, but getting solid and long-lasting all core boosts would be nice. I don't need crazy VRMs, but I also don't want to fry them with a medium OC. I also looked at a Gigabyte Z690 UD AX DDR4 and MSI PRO Z690-A WIFI DDR4, but the reviews I saw pointed to the Asus and GN mentioned that the Asus VRM was a bit better. IDK if getting a non-wifi board and buying a WiFi card would be a better plan, please educate me! Memory: I'm looking at Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro SL 32 GB (2x16) DDR4-3600 CL18 cause it seems fast enough, fairly affordable, and it's white + RGB which matches my case. I would like a touch of RGB aesthetic. Also easily expanded. Storage: 1TB NVME SSD. I'm looking at either a Samsung 970 EVO Plus (which I have in a Thunderbolt enclosure and am amazed with the speed as an external storage device) or a 980 Pro. I don't know how much of a difference the 35 bucks between these two makes or if it's even noticeable. More education needed here! I'm open to other options as well, like a Crucial P5 or such. I will likely put in a couple hard drives in RAID for backup and redundancy at some later point. Power Supply: I was looking at an EVGA Supernova GA. I figured if I got a 650W now, I could upgrade later this year to an 850 when things go on sale during the holidays, and give the 650W to my brother. Will 650W be sufficient? 200W OC CPU+ 300W OC GPU seems to leave some headroom unless a 3080 falls out of the sky and into my lap. Peripherals: I have a keyboard and mouse, I just have no idea what to do with a monitor. I don't really need a very high refresh rate and I do like 4K content. 4K 120Hz with decent color would be optimal, but I can make some concessions. I also don't mind buying used. Gaming at 4K is not too much of a thought unless it's Skyrim and Oblivion, in which case I'm used to console FPS. Please let me know your thoughts! I don't have much experience, but I've been consuming LTT, GN, and Jayz for 4 years so I think I'm not entirely lost. I can take and appreciate any and all constructive criticism! Thanks for taking the time to help out! -GokuGogo

I'm planning on building my first PC this summer, and I tend to play a lot of more CPU intensive games (KSP, Cities Skylines, Stellaris, Rimworld, etc.). Should I factor this in while looking for parts, or will it just work itself out as I look for things within my budget. I'm probably going to have a budget of around $1,500 CAD (~$1,200 USD), would like to be able to run most games at 1440p, and prefer to be a bit on the small side so it will fit on my desk comfortably.

Hey everyone, after the mountains of help I got last time i made one of these posts I couldn't think of any reason not to come back, so here is the situation. About a month ago now I asked for some build help with a £1000/1250 all inclusive build- my very first, and it went great (still need to upload the video) and I want to build even more than I did before. About two or so weeks ago I came into possession of a rather substantial sum of money from a relative of mine. There is nothing I need (that I haven't already purchased) and well I can't deny- I have build fever and I want to do another one. I will be giving my previous build to my parents as they are in need of a new computer and they aren't very tech savvy- i've had to help them quite a few times over the years, so I figured that giving them something that I'd built myself and knew all about it would be fairly easy to help them in the future, but now onto the main point of this topic.... Although I do have a fairly good idea of what I'm going to go with, I wanted to here others opinions, especially on what GPU/GPU's they would go with if they had a £4000+ budget and also opinions on whether ddr4 and x99 is worth going for or sticking to ddr3 and z97 etc. So in summary, this is a dream type build- let your imagination run wild because to a certain extent, the budget is unlimited. (Obviously don't go too crazy.. I don't really need a 20TB server for gaming hahaha but you get the general gist.) What would you include in your dream build? All suggestions are welcome and much appreciated, doubt all that many people will read this far but thanks too those who do Thanks again, Plowmannn.
