Okay I don't even know what happened or what caused this but last night I installed a Windows update. I think it was Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 22H2 (KB5033372). Everything went fine until after it restarted. The ASUS TUF splash screen came up and the little loading circle came up as well, then it froze for what felt like 10-15 seconds. It finally booted into the windows login screen but very sluggishly. Then suddenly it BSOD and gave me an error saying kernel security check failed. It then rebooted again and this time no blue screen, however the system slowed to an absolute crawl! It was really laggy, choppy and hiccupping like crazy. The mouse cursor was skipping/stuttering, moved very slowly despite high DPI setting and there were also some screen artifacts on the desktop. (Kinda looked like when an LCD screen gets cracked) So at this point I figured a clean install of Windows was in order because I recently upgraded my motherboard from a B450 to an ASUS TUFF B550 and never did a clean install of the OS. So I figured maybe it was conflicting driver issue from the old mobo?? I dunno. I should also mention that I recently updated to the latest BIOS version about a week or so prior to any of this happening but everything was fine for a while. I ran games, booted up my system from sleep, restart, shutdown etc. It all ran beautifully before that damn Windows update! So anyway, I reinstalled Windows. I installed all latest Windows updates and all the necessary drivers etc. (I even had to spend $15 on another stupid Windows key!) All seemed fine and well until I woke the PC back up from sleep later on in the day. Black screen, no video signal. The PC then rebooted itself. Again, black screen. Finally when the signal came back it showed the TUF splash screen and the loading circle slowed and hung again. My heart sank! NOOOO! NOT AGAIN!! Windows login screen comes up and here we go again with the slow/sluggish/choppy responsiveness! NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! WTF IS HAPPENING?!?! It also did those weird screen artifacts again! I ran sfc /scannow and it found and repaired some files. However the issue still persisted after another reboot. I then ran Windows update and it installed a .NET framework update. I rebooted it again and then this time the system seemed normal and stable again. I ran 3D Mark Timespy DX12 stress test for 20 loops. 99.2% frame stability. No crash, no BSOD, nothing. System was still stable afterward. I then ran Speed Way stress test for 20 loops. Again, 99.2% frame stability. No crash, no BSOD. Also played some Cyberpunk for about a half hour, no crash, no BSOD, game ran smoothly. However, I tried rebooting the system again, same issue. Hang on splash screen, then slow, stuttering responsiveness. Reboot again, and the system ran stable. I then rebooted it a couple more times just to see if I could replicate the issue again and sure enough, boom! It happened again. Did another reboot, and it's fine. Another reboot, still fine. One more reboot, here we go again! I should also note that in Event Viewer I noticed a ton of "Metadata staging failed" errors that came up around the times the issue was present. (Then again it also do when it wasn't) I'm not sure if that's relevant at all, but I feel I should still mention it. Like this is really weird! It seems like every now & then when I reboot my system it behaves really screwy. WHY?! Is it the BIOS update? If so, how? It ran great up until that update! Can someone please help? Here are my specs: ASUS TUF B550 Plus WIFI II motherboard Ryzen 5 5600x (No overclock) G.Skill 32GB 3200Mhz RAM (4 8GB sticks) ASUS TUF RTX 4070 EVGA Supernova 750W PSU Windows 10 Pro

The SSD shows in the BIOS and you can even see the Windows Boot Manager but it doesn't start onto Windows 10 Pro. Computer was working just fine until I changed from an 8 GB Oloy RAM module to a pair of XPG D50s 8x2 GB. The motherboard is a Gigabyte H410M H, the CPU is 10100f. Everything seems fine on BIOS. I can boot from the Windows installation flashdrive and attemp to install Windows again but I'm not sure that's the issue here. The CMOS has been cleared using the jumper incluided. Does anyone knows what to do?

Hi, I don't know what I did but these last days i'm having a very weird problem with my PC. My monitor has 1 display port and 2 hdmis and my PC is connected to the display port. The thing is that if I boot my pc while the monitor is searching for signal in the display port, it will just not boot. The red led that tells you if it is reading the drive will turn on for one or 2 seconds and then it will turn of and nothing will happen, all the fans get on averything but my pc will not turn on. However, if I put my monitor like if i was using the hdmi, even if i have nothing in th hdmi, and then turn on my pc it will perfectly turn on, then i can change my monitor to the display port and it will work as if there was no problem. It is a very weird problem, i don't know what is causing it and it is very uncomfortable having to do that every time I want to boot my pc. Does anyone know what could be causing this ? My pc has: Windows 64 bits Nvidia GTX 1660 SUPER LG 24GL600F Monitor Intel Core i5-9400F 2.90GHz Gigabyte BIOS (I also have another monitor with a vga to hdmi adapter ( HP w2007 ) )

A couple days ago I finished doing a practice exam and shut my computer down after. When I turned it back on to play some games, all I got was a black loading screen that goes on forever. I checked the boot order and everything was the same. Changed the orders around and I just kept getting the black screen. I tried to reinstall windows but that does not work either. This has been going on for a while and I cannot even safe boot. After the automatic system repair or something like that, it still brings me to a black screen. I’m desperate for answers and solutions because I have exams coming up but can’t do it because of my pc.

Hi guys, have just put all the components into my first build however when it comes to turning the PC on, nothing happens. I have a ASUS Prime B450-Plus motherboard as well as a Kolink Void case, and think it is something to do with the connections I have put into the panel at the bottom of the motherboard, as the manual is useless and I have had to use the internet to find out what goes where, as there is little indication on either the manual or the motherboard itself. As far as I can see all the connections are in correctly in accordance to what I have found, however there are some that are missing as I do not have a reset button for example. I also have a "VDG" header that came with the case, however I can not find anywhere on the motherboard to fit this in? Any help would be extremely appreciated as I need to get this up and running as soon as possible.

Howdy, I have a Dell Precision 5530 and I recently tried upgrading my ram from 16GB to 32GB and I am running into a strange boot error. The laptop originally came with 8GBs of ram and I upgraded to 16GB by adding another stick shortly after I got it. When I try to upgrade to upgrade to 32GBs by replacing the ram inside with a 2x16GB kit, the laptop doesn't boot and the LED flashes an error code of 3 white, pause, 2 orange, which suggests that no memory is detected. If I keep the original 8GB ram stick inside and only put in one of the 16GB sticks the laptop boots fine and recognizes that I have 24GBs installed. I have looked all over the internet and tried a lot of the common suggestions but nothing seems to work. Some relevant details: Processor: i7-8850H OS: Windows 10 Pro RAM Specs (Old and new are same): 2666MHz CL16

I can't seem to find any information on this despite how hard I look. To sum it up, I originally made a post on Tom's Hardware and Reddit but received no replies. Here's the original Tom's Hardware post: Question - No signal to monitor after upgrading the GPU ? | Tom's Hardware Forum (tomshardware.com) Original post: So recently I upgraded my RTX 2060 to an RX 6800, however, upon booting up there was no signal to the monitor. The LEDs in the case turn on, the case fans spin, my AIO cooler turns on, and the RAM lights turn on as well. My power supply says it's only pulling 40 watts which is a significant concern. Here's the troubleshooting I've done: Reseated GPU and RAM Plugged in my old GPU Reconnected everything Tested my RX 6800 on an eGPU setup with my laptop (it works perfectly) Disconnected unnecessary components and tested (yielded the same result) Turned on the PC without a GPU and it still did the same thing Some things to note, the PC doesn't turn off after I power it on no matter how long I hold the power button. The onboard LED does not provide an error LED. The BIOS was updated recently to support the new Ryzen CPU. When I plugged in the new GPU, I did two additional things, plug in a new SATA cable to plug in all my drives because I left one unplugged to support my new AIO cooler, and reapplied thermal paste to my CPU. I currently am getting a replacement for the power supply if something somehow happened. I can provide a picture if needed. Here's an update to what I've done since the post: I got a replacement PSU and connected everything using the cables bundled with the PSU but received the same result Reseated the CPU, checked for bent pins or any debris (this shouldn't be the case since I hadn't done anything to the CPU) Tried with one stick of RAM Removed all boot drives Unplugged my AIO cooler Reset the CMOS and the CLRTC but nothing Here's what I've noticed about what happens when I flick the power supply on. The LED in the top left, the ASUS logo LED, flashes on then turns off immediately. If the CMOS is being reset than the BIOS setting should reset, meaning that the LED should now always be on when the PC is on or off. The LED remains off when I boot up the PC. USB devices, RAM, and cooler all turn on. The QLED on the motherboard do not light up at all, meaning that all components should be okay however not even the white LED is on, which is of concern because when booting up, all LEDs turn on in sequence then go to white, however, the LEDs do not turn on at all. Could the motherboard be faulty even though it was working perfectly fine before the upgrade? What are some other solutions?

I have the HDD detected in my BIOS settings and the size and model are correct and all is well, at least there. I have Windows10-Ubuntu19.x dual boot on my computer. Whenever I try to boot from the windows boot loader, it takes me to the repair/troubleshoot window, nothing there works. I choose the command line prompt and check for disks using diskpart to list volumes, it gives me an empty list. The hard disk is not detected by diskpart. I also tried to boot from Ubuntu's bootloader then I chose Ubuntu to boot into, then the computer froze on the purple screen even before the loading dots. I also burned an ISO Window on a USB stick to boot from it and wipe the HDD and install the windows from scratch, vut the windows installation wizard does not detect the hard disk and also gives me an empty list. My computer is Lenovo Ideapad 520. Hard disk model: Seagate st1000lm035 Thank you so much in advace.

I recently put together my first build. All my parts are brand new except for 3 drives that I salvaged from old pc’s and laptops. (a 250gb hdd from a dell desktop, a 500gb ssd from a hp laptop, and a 500gb from an Apple MacBook Pro) After I installed all my components into my case for the first time, I started the computer and it booted into the BIOS with no problem. So I went to set my M.2 ssd as my boot drive and my boot options were laid out as followed:Option 1- Windows Boot Manager (with the hdd from my dell desktop that I can’t remember the name for atm)Option 2- Samsung 250gb M.2Option 3- WDC 600gbOption 4- The hdd from the dell desktop And so on...So from there I went to select the M.2 ssd as Option 1 and I set the Windows Boot Manager hdd as Option 2. After I did that my pc restarted itself and next thing I know my screen pops up saying “Hello Jean-Paul”. Seeing my name on what I suspected to be a fresh computer startled me. In a short amount of time, I realized that it booted all my information that was on my dell desktop. At that point I knew something wasn’t right so I turned off my computer and tried to enter the BIOS but when I turned it back on nothing would come up on my monitor. For a while I tried all I could think of to get the BIOS to come up but nothing worked, so I gave up for the day. The next day I try again, I tried to unplug all my SSDs and hdds that weren’t brand new and tried to boot up, nothing. Next I replugged the hdd from my dell desktop and removed one stick of memory (I read to do that on a forum) and low and behold it booted into the BIOS! From that point, I believe I tried to disable the hdd from the dell desktop and I tried to configure some of my case fans. But when I went to save and reset, nothing came on. So at this point I’m at a loss as to what to do next. I’ve been considering looking into local computer specialists to work out my problem for me because I’m starting to feel like I don’t know what I’m doing. So if anyone knows what I can do to fix all of this, please help a simple first timer!Build:CPU: Intel i7 7700k CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-D15 Motherboard: Asus Maximus IX Hero GPU: Unsure at the momentMemory: Corsair Vengeance LPX (16GB) Storage: Samsung - 960 EVO 250GB M.2-2280Western Digital - WD VelociRaptor 500GB 2.5 Power Supply: EVGA Supernova 750 G3 Case: CM Storm Stryker

Hey I'm new here and i came here with a puzzling issue... I am in the process of building a Dual CPU Server Gaming PC. I'm Using the Motherboard form a HP XW9400 Motherboard (Which I have 2 of...) and a set of AMD Opteron 6-Core 2427's. I currently have a GTX 650 GPU installed and a Lepa 500 Watt PSU. My problem is that when we apply power and turn it on, the fans spin up, but the screen never activates and no boot is even attempted? I've tried running 4-Core Opteron's thinking the CPU's were to new or big, but that didn't fix it. My RAM is not faulty, it worked perfect when in their last home. We have even gone as far as using a friends 800 Watt PSU to try firing it up. I looked at the original manufacturer book for the motherboards original PC, it calls for a 1100 Watt PSU minimum to my understanding. Could the issue be that I don't have enough juice to fire the CPU's/Motherboard in General? Or maybe a lack of drivers for the GPU to run? I am going to be purchasing a 1200 Watt PSU soon but I wanted to find some extra feedback before dropping the money on it? Thank you for any help in advance! DISCLAIMER: I know some things may not belong where they are, I have always enjoyed a Frankenstein Build just as much as a Clean Build, so please refrain from informing me that CPU Wraith Coolers are not for cases and such other things like that... I am aware... Please don't Judge... ***Let me just say that I have Top of the line PC's I normally build/run, but occasionally like to dive into the deep budget PC Builds like this.***

hey everyone! i'm new to this forum, but i've watched the channel on yt for a while now, and i've run into a problem that maybe you guys can help me out with. i'm running a 5 year old pc with an AMD FX8350, a gtx 1050 and a gigabyte 970a-ds3p mobo. the OS is installed on an SSD made by crucial, games and files are on a 7200rpm sata HDD. the last couple of days, when i try booting my system, it will show all the usual screens, but when loading into windows i will get a blank blue screen, no text or cursor showing, and after about 20 or 30 seconds the pc will reboot and load into windows just fine. i built the pc myself, and it has been working fine until a couple of days ago,but i work on a dairy farm, so my knowledge about pc's is very limited indeed. a friend of mine who knows more than i do said that it might be my cpu overheating, but i doubt that can happen so fast, and when it does load in i get temps around 40-45 degrees celcius. my power supply will need an upgrade (it is currently only 450 watts), but again, when it does load into windows it runs very stable and it won't shutdown unless i tell it to. i'm really curious if this sounds familiar to anyone, and if so, how was this issue fixed? i have advanced system care and driver booster, so my drivers should all be up to date, and i have a legitimate version of windows 10 professional. I really hope someone can help me out here, because i'm worried that it may be a symptom of something worse going on. thanks in advance!

Hi everyone, this is my first post here and i'm looking for a little help. Recently I've been having a rather strange boot issue whereby my PC will only seem to boot if the amount of ram installed has changed since the PC was shutdown. Strange i know. Any ideas? i7 4770K, Rx580, gigabyte z97 mobo

So I’ve had an old PC running Windows 7 (Pro/Ultimate) 32 bit I think. One day I checked the system’s specs and it turns out it was an x86 based system. Armed with this knowledge and a drive to get the most out of this cpu I put in a Windows 7 installation disc and “upgraded” to WINDOWS 7 ULTIMATE x86 and thus began my woes. Since then I’ve tried; Reinstalling Windows 7 Pro x64 Reinstalling Windows 7 Pro x86 Switching the CMOS battery Formatting the harddisk drive and creating two new fresh partitions (One for Windows, the other for Linux) Reinstalling Windows on the larger partition Switching display settings from PCI to AGP (The motherboard has AGP gpu I think) in BIOS None if these have worked. After the installation is done the PC restarts, it tries to load into Windows, gets to the Windows 7 “Welcome” splash screen, logs off, Shuts down and then when it just boots up again it goes past the “Packard Bell” screen and then stays at black and never boots into Windows. Please help. Specs are: CPU: Pentium 4 @ 3.6 ghz, 1 core, 2 Logical cores Mobo: ECS P4M800PRO-M RAM: 512MB DDR2 @ 553mhz Storage: Seagate Barracuda 120GB 7200rpm

System Specs : Mobo: Msi Z97 G45 Gaming CPU: Intel Core I7 4790 GPU: EVGA GTX 970 FTW RAM: 2X corsair vengeance 8GB Dims (16GB total) HDD(SATA): 2TB WD Green SSD (SATA): Crucial 240 GB SSD(PCIE): Hyperx M.2 with HHHL Adapter 240GB So the issue I'm having is that i built this as a new rig and installed windows 8.1 on the HyperX Predator PCIe SSD at first when i tired to turn on the system to start the windows install i wasn't receiving video output from my GPU so i figured i take out the GPU and see if that works happily it did. So i installed windows and went from there, I reinstalled My GPU and then it booted and there was video on my monitor so i was happy i proceeded to install windows updates and when that was finished it told me to restart my computer of course so i did and then i started having problems with GPU video output again it wouldn't show anything on screen and it would just say "NO Signal" on my monitor. So again i took my GPU out and ran it on Integrated Graphics i saw video on my monitor this time. I then went into the Bios to make sure my integrated graphics settings were set to PEG which they are. So Finally i installed the GPU again and as it booted its showed a blinking cursor at the top left corner of the screen and then it went into windows. If i try to turn off or restart my PC from here my monitor just shows the "NO SIGNAL" screen again. Please Any help would be so appreciated i just want to enjoy my new rig thank so much for any support that you can give me.
