Problem: 2 Mic died the same way in the past 3 months Mic: Blue yeti nano Motherboard: Asus prime x470-pro Case: lian li O11D Cables: cable that come with the mic + an USB extension (the mouse cable extention from all the Logitech mouse / keyboard products) Mic Arm: cheap amazon arm Pop filter: cheap foam-ish cover filter on top How did it die: *I did try the mic with another computer, and it does not show up either, Mics acts the same with both computer.* It just stopped working one day. Lights on the mic still light up and change color according to how I click them (both from mute bottom & pattern bottom). Possible culprit? Static discharge from my hand to the top of the Mic? Static discharge from my hand to the USB ports in the back of the PC? Static discharge when I touched my case and it shocked all the way back? IO shield is not connected to the motherboard correctly? Some parts of the Motherboard broke and it is actively murdering my mic and my mic only? (maybe I plugged in the same port and it is on that single port that is broken?) Extra Info: I had the first mic for more than around a year now, everything worked well until 1-2 months ago. The mic just stopped working one day (didn't stop working while using it, just grabbed the mic over, but it doesn't work anymore) (the night before, I was changing components in my PC) I tried everything and it didn't work, I got it RMA and Logitech sent me a new mic ASAP. 2nd Mic worked well until tonight.... (Last night, I got a new headset, so I unplugged the audio jack with the new one that came with the headphones. Did not open the PC. Just unplugged jack and plugged in the new cable, probably touched over the USBs behind my PC) [Edit, added info 3/9/2021, 1:55AM EST] Also wanted to add that I bought a pair of soft cushion slippers (3months ago?) and change my fake leather chair to a fabric chair (1month ago?). I am not sure, but I feel I have much more static zap when touching any metal in my room! Diagnostics: 1- Computer cannot detect the mic, sound panel cant see the mic at all (Pic1, none of the mics listed is blue, and non of them works) 2- When I plug the mic, most of the time, i get a message notification saying (USB device not recognized, The last USB device you connected to this computer malfunctioned, and Windows does not recognize it. Windows explorer) (Pic2) 3- I checked the Device manager also, under "universal serial bus controller" -> "Unknown USB Device (Port Reset Failed)" shows up after 1min from the mic to be plugged in (Pic3)

I've had a Blue Yeti for years now....and I'm dealing with an on going whine issue. Gain reduction, noise cancelation software, replacement of the usb cable, cycling the mic, and much more....but the issue will act like it's fixed and then come right back. I make a small living of live streaming...and often I don't know if the issue is occurring till after the stream is over...either my small amount of viewers are deaf or they just put up with it. (Kinda think I'm low-key blessed to have such a great audience). So I an to the point were I think I just need to replace the bloody thing...but I don't recall when was the last time someone did a solid Quality streamer mic review. Anyone have/know of a side by side mic sound review vid that I could watch for the current Streamer mics on the market...Keep in mind, I'm just barely get by on what I make for streaming....so I can't afford to be droppin made cash but my viewer deserve better than what my current mic is putting out.

Hello everyone, (english is not my native language, please excuse me any mistakes) I've been using a headset for years, and since I can remember I've been told I'm sometimes difficult to understand. I have a bit o cash saved up and I'd like to improve it. $US 200 max For the last two weeks I've went through multiple Podcastage videos and I have my candidates. Maybe you can sway me away from overspending, I don't know. What I will be using it for? Talking with people over discord(I have admin rights, and I plan on jacking up the quality to 128Kb/s) and streaming mainly. What it must have? Cardioid pattern, obviously, What I'd like it to have? 1. Live monitoring(hence first candidate) 2. Stereo mode, I want to be able to mess with people with it. Will it be on Cardioid mode 95% of the time? Probably. My first candidate is Blue Yeti X. It has all of the features I need but is very expensive and has bad reputation of being amateur choice. It has Blue Voice live monitoring which is a huge deal for me, i really want to be able to apply de-esser and compressor when talking. If there are XLR interfaces, that can deliver that and fit in my budget with a microphone, I'd be happy to consider, but couldn't find any. I tried VoiceMeeter Banana but using it was a real nightmare, so I'd stay as far away as possible from it, to be honest I doubt anyone that recommends it, ever used it. Second is Samson G-Track Pro. Considered the best USB microphone you can buy right now, but lacks stereo mode, live monitoring built in, and on top of that is gigantic in size. Third is AKG Lyra, lacks Live monitoring and is not built very good, dials are wobbly and body is made out of plastic. Voice Quality though is great. I also have mixed feelings about vintage design but looks are not very important for me, as long as it doesn't look like a gamer toy (ekhm HyperX Quadcast). Why USB? 1. I'd like to avoid additional box on my desk. Unless it had Live Monitoring dials, then I wouldn't mind. 2. "But you can't upgrade from USB". That's why options above are top of the top USB microphones money can buy today and upgrading from them would require blowing hunderds of dollars on a whole audio setup, and I never will for imo barely hearable difference. 3. I've read Mr. FlyingSloth guide, and all options above record in 24bit when needed for working with sound, that I'll never do, but that point was worth addresing here. I'd really appreciate some advices on this Have a wonderful day people For easier communication, please call me by name- Peter

I just wanted to know if the BM-800 or the NW-800 microphone were good for discord calls or for anything else. Would they suffice? I'm looking for a budget mic as I don't want to spend $200 on a blue yeti if you guys have any other recommendations please drop 'em (i live in australia so be aware that your country might have a mic that no vendor here has) thanks

I'm looking for a boom arm that can go on my desk without clamping into it because my desk doesn't have enough of a place for the clamp to fit securely. I thought the Rode PSA-1 was freestanding, but it clamps as well. I have the Blue Yeti, for clarification.

Hello community, I am looking to buy a boom arm for my Blue Yeti microphone, but I don't know anything about this stuff. I don't know how to find if it's compatible or not and which one is the best. I would also like to get it under 50€ with a pop filter (Can I attach a pop filter to any boom arm?), which I would also appreciate any advice about. I am attaching a photo of my desk (those cables are a real mess, I know It's temporary), I would like to be able to have the microphone in front of my mouth also if there's my steering wheel for example. I don't know where I could mount such boom arm too. And one more question, do you think it's worth it to get a shock mount? And if yes, is it better to buy a boom arm that already has it and is it possible to mount one to any boom arm? I am sorry, if it seems, like I'm lazy to search, but I really need to know, what I am acutually looking for or where to look for it. Thanks for replies in advance.

I'm going to buy a blue yeti and was looking into getting a boom for it so it doesn't have to sit on the table and pickup all the keyboard noise. What is a good but cheap stand for it I've looked in Amazon but the ones I've seen say not suitable for the blue yeti.

So if i were to get a mic for videos or streams on YouTube or Twitch, which microphone would you recommend to do so? And if so, what should i get for it such as stand, mount, pop filter, etc. Thank you These were the ones i was thinking: https://www.amazon.com/Blue-Yeti-USB-Microphone-Blackout/dp/B00N1YPXW2/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1490040272&sr=8-3&keywords=blue+yeti https://www.amazon.com/Audio-Technica-AT2020USB-PLUS-Condenser-Microphone/dp/B00B5ZX9FM/ref=sr_1_4?s=musical-instruments&ie=UTF8&qid=1490039325&sr=1-4&keywords=at2020

Hi! So ill make this quick, i need a good microphone for Youtube, Twitch, and maybe other stuff I plan on doing videos and streaming (mostly videos), with an Elgato HD60S and probably a Logitech C922. I was wondering what the best microphone was for about $150 or less, and hopefully USB (no like third party thing necessary). And with that, whether it would be good with one of those stands that you can move around or let it go near your face and such, that would be cool too Hopefully you guys can help me and give me some suggestions! Thank you so much!

hi with the blue yeti microphone, can i hear my own voice through my headset without any delays? my headset blocks out noise so i end up talking very loudly, so i would like to be able to hear my own voice without any delays like how the native windows "listen to this device" option has noticeable latency. thanks!

Hello peeps, I have a major issue with my Blue Yeti microphone. I love to do Twitch streaming but this microphone keeps picking up everything. When I am talking you can hear my computer fans very clearly but my microphone is on the other end of the desk away from the computer tower. All I want the microphone to do is pickup my voice, keyboard taps and mouse clicks for audio to my viewers. I have tried using a program called Reaper and it doesn't seem to be working as much as I am trying. Any suggestions? Urgently would like help. Thanks

(FIXED) I reinstalled my audio drivers and that seemed to do the trick I have had a blue yeti since last Christmas and has worked amazingly for me but recently the microphone stopped working the computer recognizes it up as a device but it wont record or pick up my voice I have tried plugging my headphones into its headphone jack i could hear my voice through that but the computer still didn't pick up my voice. I also tried using a different computer and it worked just fine which leads me to believe its driver issues but I tried reinstalling the device and that didn't work

So I have a Blue Yeti which I bought while ago haven't been using it much so I thought maybe it is time to use it so I went ahead and bought a Rode PSA1 arm as well as a generic pop filter while also getting a Radius shockmount for free from an old friend now that shock mount is the old version which has the issue where it slowly falls down now that is not my only issue, the hole under my yeti also is too large for it to screw to the middle of the shock mount and I got no clue what to do. Do I order the Radius II ? or will the shock mount screw in the middle would still be too small for my yeti microphone hold on the mic, anyone got some help to deal with this?

Hi so I am thinking of ordering some stuff from rode I just found out I get a pretty good price on their products through work and have been wanting a Rode PSA1 for a while now, so I thought id pull the trigger. Currently I use a Blue Yeti that I was going to use the PSA1 with (also got a good deal on that I love my job) as I was looking over the Rode accommodation form I though maybe I would get a podcaster as well and try it out. Now for the Question! I found an adapter that will let you use 2 mics at the same time on 1 mount and thought it would be cool to mount them both together so I could use them side by side...for reasons well I'm sure I could come up with a use for it but it seems cool. would the PSA1 be strong enough to hold both mics at the same time or am I asking for 2 broken mics? Both mics with their respective shock mounts seem to be around the advertised weight limit of the PSA1 but I am not sure how accurate that number really is. Dose anyone have any advice, suggestions or ideas?

I'm looking to make a setup with a blue yeti blackout, but I want a boom/ scissor/ microphone stand of some sorts that can hold it. If it matters, this is what I'll be using: Blue Yeti - Blackout Edition, Blue Radius II Microphone Shock Mount, Foam Windscreen for Blue Yeti. If anyone has any recommendations, that would be great!

So idk im planning to buy blue yeti, what would be the cheapest best option for a good shock mount and holder for that microphone, Im new to this any ideas?

Hi! I have been wanting to get into podcasting for awhile now and decided to inveset in some hardware, but before I spluge and buy 300-500 euro worth of tech, I want to ask you guys some questions. 1.I decided on the Blue Yeti USB, but if I have 3 people, do i need to get 3 mics or will 2 suffice. 2.If I connect the three/two into a hub, will they be a single track or multiple different tracks (audacity) ? 3.Will I need a preamp/DAC for them or is it okay to plug them directly into the hub? Many thanks!

several members of my discord have the blue yeti mic it picks up way to much background noise. is there any fix for them? they are all young guys in college so getting a new mic isn't really in the cards for them.

Hi, there! I'm aware that there are likely other forums with the same or similar titles; however, I'm hoping for a recommendation based on my situation. I own a Blue Yeti Pro microphone, and I intend to use it for various applications. However, I live in college - I have a small room, with a fairly small desk. My desk hardly has edges to clamp anything on to. I own a tripod, but it's large and unwieldy for such a small room. The microphone came with a desk stand - the issue is that any bumps or vibrations from the table are easily heard in the microphone. I'm hoping for a recommendation on what to do, as a tripod is large and not easily maneuverable and I can't clamp anything. There are no viable surfaces near my desk for a clamp, and I also can't drill holes in my desk (for obvious reasons.) Perhaps there's a product or item that would solve this? I would prefer a shock mount with the mount, but if not, I have a shock mount already. Thanks for your time!

So I recently made the purchase of a Blue Yeti microphone to take the place of my headset microphone. One thing I did not realize was how incredibly sensitive this thing really is. I have the microphone set to Caratoid, my gain is set appropriately, as well as the microphone level itself within the properties. I know there are several programs out there that are supposed to help reduce the background noise and the general hum of the room, but I cannot for the life of me figure any of them out on my own. I'm currently running my microphone through the VoiceMeeter program with the use of the VB Audio Virtual Cable. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I can do to fix the hum I have in the background? One of my buddies compared it to sounding like I was in the back of a C-130.

I currently am wanting to upgrade my mic from my headset to a more professional sound. The big 2 I've found are the blue yeti (normal) and the At2020. What will be better the USB yeti or an XLR at2020 with a audio interface. I am aware that the at2020 will be around twice the cost when paired with a audio interface, but I am willing to pay if the quality is worth it. Though the blue yeti is on sale for 90.00$ Usd on Amazon prime day. I need to make a decision and want someone else's input. I do mostly voice overs and chat with friends and may occasionally record my guitar that I play for fun. Thanks
