I came across your YouTube channel whilst in hospital after breaking my neck in November 2022. It was 8 long months of recovery mainly in various specialist hospital wards around the UK, luckily I can now walk but many things are not the same with my arms and hands. These days I find PC hardware a minefield of protocols, be it processor, memory, motherboard etc. Anyhow, I watched your channel for some time and as of yet not seen you do a bit on professional and semi-professional audio setups, that are often used by the writers of computer/console games as well as general music composition, and come to think of it even bedroom musicians. Well, here is my pitch for something to look towards publishing on your fantastic YouTube channel. Meanwhile, I wondered if you would be graceful and help me spec a computer for a home studio, and here are my considerations, it might help with starting the brain cogs turning. Lovely though they are, LED lights are probably a no, as reducing excess electronics is a great start to reducing noise in an audio chain; I’m happy to be proven wrong on this. Fans used for cooling need to be as quiet as the budget allows. Three, maybe four screen connections are available for future expansion, (maybe motherboard onboard graphics for 1 screen and GPU the rest, (if this is possible). I know that sounds excessive, but Virtual Instruments often require knobs twiddling during a session, so having separate screens can make life easy. The GPU must be able to work with GPU audio, to help reduce CPU load. A motherboard which is somewhat future-proof in terms of memory up to 128GB as my new hobby develops, or popping in a better CPU at some stage. Initially to be at least 32GB of memory. Best CPU bang for bucks (cores/threads). Good CPU cooling which is quiet, but maybe not liquid-cooled (or is that foolish?) I live in the UK therefore a PSU that is designed for 220 to 240v It must have a quiet PSU both electrically and physically (fan). Lots of USB ports as possible on the board presented to the outside world, probably a mixed bag of USB 2.0 & 3.2 Gen 1 and 2 (maybe a nice USB Hub?) Looking to have some software always running that will record discord and my own mic and save the last 30 seconds with the push of a shortcut key. I've tried OBS, but from what I can see it only outputs video files and I don't want that. Searching for audio clipping programs only results in complaints about the audio clipping, so... I've been recording some Beat Saber gameplay on my Oculus Quest, and in the recording it sounds like the whole song is covered in a sort of high-pitched screeching noice. It sounds like audio of very poor quality or very compressed audio or something similar. Am I going crazy? I swear this noice isn't there when I play, but is everywhere when I listen to the recording on my PC. Is there any way to fix it? hi everyone recently, i have a project that required to record both audio and screen cast in separate files since my soundcard isn't the best, i record the audio using external recorder (zoom h2n) and a wireless lav mic (Saramonic SR-WM4C) i have a question, which settings that will deliver the best audio signal? - should i crank the lav volume all the way up and lower the pickup volume on my H2n? - or should i do it backwards (lower the lav volume and crank the pickup volume on the H2n) thanks,

Hello, so I do some simple videos on youtube nothing big. last year I went to pax for the first time. There was so much there I got lost with things to do. last year I really wanted to do some video recording and coverage of pax. I want to say this is more of a hobby for me I find it fun to make videos about what I am doing mostly of vlog style I do some video gameplay and tech review stuff nothing super. I think I only have like 24 subs lol but that's not the reason I do it. I like to post the video and if people like what they see it makes me happy. if I can interact with people who see my videos it makes me happier. anyway, i am totally off topic. the reason I am posting this is because I want to do more recording at the convention. most of my recording is in my living room where I can control most of the sounds, unfortunately, I know how hard it is going to be to record audio at the convention and I just want to make it so that when I do a recording people will actually be able to hear me. I am looking for the best budget option to get a good audio recording. the kicker is I don't have an expensive camera I like to use my cell phone (i know hiss) but hey I have an LG G4 it takes great videos audio is kinda shit but that's why I am here. I was thinking a lapel mic wired I guess would be the best price but I was also thinking a shotgun mic. I don't know what to do if you have any incite please let me know. pax is coming up fast and I would really like to do something more than just take pictures id like to take some video maybe even a shot over the sky bridge on to the convention with me talking about what I saw for the day. btw I got to meet some awesome guys while I was there I was so excited I don't know if you can see it on my face. any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

Audio Level is lowering slowly over time (during a single recording session) I've been using a Rode NT1-A with a Behringer Xenyx Q1002 for a couple of years but have never managed to have a good and consistent experience whilst recording audio. I use Adobe Audtion to record voice overs for videos and occasionally record directly into Premiere. Lately the audio recording has been starting great but the audio level slowly lowers over time to nearly nothing. (in a specific example, I was recording for around 25 mins with the audio sounding perfect for the first 2 minutes then it slowly started to lower, dropping from around -9db to -34db.) I have had other recording issues in the past but this is my current obstacle which might miraculously solve itself at any point. I'm now sure if it's a hardware issue or a software issue but I have had no luck and would be open to advise and opinions. It could be my Laptop which is getting old and has multiple software and hardware issues. Thanks in advance. (Image Attached)

Since starting up my channel and doing the first video (available in the spoiler section below), I've realized that my poor Canon Powershot SX50HS (yes, poor man here) is not gonna cut it using it's built-in microphone. So it is time for me to seriously look at an "overhead" audio solution. Now my current idea is to get a Rode NT-USB Microphone and then attach that to a Rode PSA1 Boom pole and SMR shock mount to have the microphone at just above camera view and then capture the image using an AverMedia CV710 USB3.0 FHD 60fps capture device and then mix/record the inputs using OBS. I'm looking for the best gaming laptop under 1000 dollars. Main usage would be for gaming, programming, and audio recording. And ssd would be preferable but a combination of both and ssd and hard drive would be ok too. Intel processor is also preferable. I plan on keeping it for a while so reliability and longevity are a must. Screen size 15.6 minimum. Battery life,size and weight are not important to me. I would like and hdmi port and 2 3.0 USB ports as well.

For a long time i have beed trying to resolve the audio issue i have. In skype calls, TS, audacity, my sound output is also being picked up alongside my microphone. I have made sure that Stereo mix is disabled and i have tried unplugging my mic, but output is still being recorded (noisily & quietly, but noticably). My sound setup: Onboard audio (M5A97 EVO R2.0) (ALC 892) Logitech Z200 speakers in the rear i/o HyperX cloud heatset in the front usb ports (with or without the controll box: same issue) I have not been able to find out what is causing this and i have been wondering if moving my audio output to an external dac will sove the problem (smth like Fiio E10) or if there's anything else i can do.
