Hello! I found a really good deal on the ASUS Z170 Pro gaming aura motherboard for 99 € normal price goes from 175 to 200 € I currently have MSI H170A Gaming Pro. Is it worht to upgrade or do I wait for a better motherboard? MSI motherboard has some features that the Asus motherborad doesn't have... But they aren't that necessary I don't think

Today i decided to Overclock My 6600k. I wanted to Overclock it at 4.5Ghz but i tried and it didnt boot even at 1.35V. So i though to overclock it at 4.4Ghz and it finally booted at 1.3V later i tried to lower the voltages at i managed it to run around 1.245V but it runs at 1.264V. 4.5Ghz got booted at 1.27V but it failed the AIDA64 stress test. My PC Specs: Intel 6600k Asus Z170 Pro Gaming Coolermaster 212X G.Skill TridentZ 8x2 3000Mhz 16GB Adata SP550 240GB SSD Please look at my settings and stress test results and correct me if i am going wrong anywhere. Hey everyone just got the Asus Z170 pro gaming aura motherboard. One of the reasons I got it was the 3D printable parts. I have seen in so many write up about this board has a picture of a bottom shield / cover. See attached. I cant find file. I found this blog post and it has a lot of parts but not the bottom cover. https://rog.asus.com/articles/pc-mods/download-3d-printable-parts-now/ I have been googling and googling but cant find the files. Has anyone else seen it? Or maybe know what the proper term is for this. Also has anyone printed these things? Are they any good? I don't have a 3D printer yet. I thought about sending it out and requesting it.

I am planning on going with a Asus Z170-A but am looking at the Asus Z170 Pro Aura, z170 Pro gaming and the Gigabyte G1 gaming 7. These are all roughly in the same price range. I would like to know which of these motherboard is the best, I am also open to suggestions. I personally like Asus because of there 1 click 5 way optimisation and other bells and whistles. Are there other boards that are in the price range that offer better? Or are one of these boards the best? Thank you in advance.

Hello there, I have recently built my new PC which I was building for quite some time (bad idea I know). The issues I'm having is that my system seems to crash at complete random times, I don't know why but all I know is that the ntoskrnl.exe is at fault as I've seen with WhoCrashed and BlueScreenView. I don't really know how to set up my motherboard well because it is literal garbage and the GUI is the worst. Here are my specs; Motherboard: Asus Z170 Pro Gaming CPU: Intel i7 7700k RAM: Corsair RGB Pro 16GB(2x8GB) clocked at DDR4 3000MHz CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo GPU: Nvidia RTX 2070 Super (Gigabyte Gaming OC 8GB) PSU: Corsair AX1500i Case: NZXT H440 I don't really know why this is happening, my brother said it is because of my motherboard and I hope it isn't because of that, as I have no money to buy a new mobo and probably a new CPU. I have a feeling that it is my RAM but more of my motherboard's fault. I have done no overclocking, I tried multiple settings on the motherboard and used the default, I'm really lost. Please help. Description of the crashes: I used to get BSOD of things like PFN List Corrupt and ect, those seem to have gone but been replaced with freezing and just not responding, I see my activity light flashing in pattern and then it will just restart on it's one, I just keep pressing the reset button to skip the waiting. Any ideas?

Hi, I got some questions regarding overclocking my CPU. This is my first time overclocking, so I hope you can help. I followed this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FjIweExETlI&t It seems I have a stable overclock at 4.5 GHz at VCore 1.200V. Linus mentions switching to adaptive mode for everyday use after finding the stable VCore. The CPU temp is around 80C when I run stress test in RealBench_v2.56, 37-40C idle temp - is that ok? My settings in the BIOS: AI Overclock Tuner: XMP (Changed from auto) BCLK Frequency: 100.0000 (Default value) CPU Core Ratio: Sync All Cores (Changed from auto) Core ratio limit: set at 45 CPU Core/Cache Voltage: Manual Mode (Changed from auto) CPU Core Voltage Override: 1.200V As suggested in the video I started at CPU Core Voltage Override: 1.325V but the CPU temp went to 88C after about 8 min of stress test in Realbench before I aborted the test and lowered the VCore. I tried to turn on Adaptive mode, but the system shuts down after about 30 sec stress test in Realbench (I dont know the exact time). The settings I made to the Adaptive mode: CPU Core/Cache Voltage: Adaptive Mode Offset Mode Sign: + (Default value) Additional Turbo Mode CPU Core Voltage: 1.119V Offset Voltage: 0.001V Total Adaptive Mode CPU Core Voltage: 1.120V (computed in the BIOS) What settings should I use (Manual or Adaptive mode)? I went back to default settings in the BIOS (stock clock) until I figure out which mode/settings to use. But now I experience hang ups in Windows (Slow when opening browsers, slow loading of the options when right clicking on folder etc.) - Do you guys have any idea what causes this? Folders opens instant and when the browser is open there are no hangups. I just moved from an bitfenix neos to an s340 my system specs: motherboard:Asus Z170 pro gaming cpu: i7 6700k gpu: zotac geforce gtx 980 amp psu:corsair cx 500 storage: wd blue 4tb kingston 500 gb ssd case:past bitfenix neos now nzxt s340 peripherals:tp link wlan card nzxt hue+ and after the switch the front panel headers arent working any more. The control led on the motherboard lights when i turn on the power switch but wen i pres the start buttin nothing hapens even tried the frot panel from the neos and it wont work . (I was working on an anti static surface and groundet all time during building) Did any of you encounter the same problem ?And if yes do you know a way to fix it anyway thanks for help

With the included ASUS Motherboard software, AI Suite 3, I can set fan curves. However, the fan curve is just a percentage. Now, my problem lies in the read-in RPM speed. The Cryorig H7 is rated for 1600 RPM max, but the max I have achieved is in the ~900 RPM range. Also, it only goes that high whenever I force the fan to spin at max speed. I have built other people's computers with this air cooler because it is a very nice Air cooling fan, and theirs work just as intended. What I am asking here is if there is anyone has any information about why something like this is occurring.

So i just ordered my Asus Z170 Pro Gaming motherboard. I have watched a lot of builds of PC's. Yet i haven't seen one with this Motherboard. I have seen some but they don't show how they connect every thing. So is there and video you guys recommend to watch? Its my first PC build so i'm a bit nervous.

Firstly, to any mods: Feel free to move this to any section might fit better I built a system a week ago for a friend. Mobo is an Asus Z170 Pro Gaming and case is an R5. His frontpanel audio is not working and I am going to go to his house today to try and fix it. Any specific places where the error that causes this might have appeared? Are there known cases with DAO front panels on R5s? I think this is quite unlikely but can somebody tell me how exactly i would have to plug in the front panel audio on the mono pins. We used the manual when building but ... You never know. Is there anything to enable in the BIOS that we might have forgotten about? Just tell me what it might be so i have some kind of check list for this afternoon. Thanks for all your answers.

Yo, my PC is finished, everything is working and having so much fun however when ever I boot it says over clocking failed and takes me to the bios. Then I have to boot windows my manually pressing F8 and everything is good. Can someone please tell me a fix as this is starting to be frustrating thank you. Motherboard is a asus z170 pro gaming.
