Yo! So for a month I have had a total of 4 freezes on my computer. It always happens during load (gaming). The freeze consists of everything literally freezing exactly in place and nothing else happening. The fans keep spinning as normal, pc keeps running. Nothing happens everything is just froozen. The 3 first times this happended i was able to just unplug the cable and then start up the PC again. But now the 4th time the pc will not start up again after I unplugged the cable. It tried to start for 10sec, red light on CPU all time (on mobo), then after 10 sec it shuts off and restarts the process. The PSU is tested and the computer does not work with another one. Unplugging GPU does not work. So my thoughts is that this has something to do with BIOS and maybe a corrupt socket firmware. I tried CMOS reset but it does absolutely nothing. I did a update using the Intel ME update tool somewhere around when this issue began, maybe it could be related? If anyone has any ideas or is experiencing anything similar I would really appreciate all help! Chassi: NR200P Mobo: B660-i ASUS rog strix RAM: kingston 2x16GB 4800MHz PSU: SFX 750W Cooler master CPU: intel i7 13700k GPU: ASUS ROG strix 3080ti Disc: SSD 980 Samsung Cooling: Water cooled Regards,

Ryzen 5700x Radeon 6700xt ROG Strix X570-i 32gb ram Meshilicious case I am at my wit's end! I don't know what to do and I feel like I've tried almost everything. Please scrutinize over my attempts to fix this computer! What's the problem? After I recently upgraded my CPU from a 2700x to a 5700x, my computer has failed to display properly. I had to update my BIOS for the 5700x to work (haven't updated my BIOS in 3 years). Often times the mobo will cycle through the lights and land on the white light. Both of my displays won't show anything. Important Details I have tried reseating the CPU and even plugged in my old CPU. With the 2700x inside, everything worked perfectly. So far, I eventually get my computer to display by force shutting down and restarting. Sometimes it takes several force restarts to get it working. What I've Tried Reseating CPU Reconnecting Riser Cable Resetting CMOS Battery Updating BIOS Updating AMD Drivers Getting a New DP Cable What are some other things I should try?

Hello there good ppl of the great forum-lands, Today I finally fulfilled my dream of assembling a decent gaming PC! asus rog strix x570e Motherboard 5600x; RTX 3070; 1tb (something-Evo) M.2 SSD, 32 Gigs of Gskill 3200 Mhz Ram topped off with a H115i AIO cooler. (Integrated Hardware from old Build: 1.CX600 PSU 2.850Evo 500GB SSD 3. WD Black 1TB HDD); 850 Evo still used as boot drive. Upon first boot eveything was fine. The Thing was running as fast as I had never seen before! Now I can't get windows to load up anymore. All of this started, when I tried to make the RAM run at 3.2 GHz. DIDNT WORK! The PC didnt even boot anymore. [I am dumb so I just typed in 3200MHz in Ramspeed] So I shut it down and Hard reset it via powering down + unplugging + taking out CMOS Battery. I waited a bit and I tried again. This time the PC did boot up again, so I tried using the DOCP Profile instead. Now the PC crashed againg and was stuck in its boot cycle again. I cleared the CMOS again, but I couldnt get it to give me a video output anymore. I have switched out the 3070 (was in 2.nd slot) for an old 1060 (now in first slot, all others empty) I am currently back to the bios. Now the Bios recognizes all drives (M.2, EVO, WD B) but can't boot from any of them anymore. "No Bootable Drives Detected" is the reoccurring response. What in the Lord Linus' name can I do now? I really wanted to finally play some flight sum :( I appreciate all the help! Thanks in advance! Adil

HI, got this awesome laptop but recently i noticed that when im running it unplugged it keeps the cpu at the lowest speeds while it wasnt like that before. Of course i dont expect it to max the clock speeds but at least i should go to base clock. Its not a bios issue as i got that reset like a few times already. CPU is undervolted but thats not the issue as at base voltage it does the same XTU says its thermal throttling what i dont understand as its at 50C - latest bios version 310 - W10 X64 2009

I have removed the CMOS battery, the main battery, but can’t clear this password. What doesn’t work- Hitting ANY keys (F2-F12, nada) Holding ALT+R (nope) Typing wrong password 3 times (just locks up) Booting from USB- can’t get into boot menu Any help is appreciated!- 5 replies

So, after waiting months, I finally got this one from here. It only has 16 GB of RAM, but I need 64 gigs. (not for gaming of course, but for some machine learning workloads). Can someone guide me on the following please: best "32 x 1" memory module for this laptop (for this AMD cpu) a video (or two) demonstrating how to replace RAM as I have not changed RAM on a laptop before any AMD specific config that I should tinker with (although if it's not super important, I'd want to avoid it) anything else I should be mindful of when doing this surgery

My sons laptop died on him! The day before it died he noticed he wasn't getting xbox notifications.. And he noticed his time and date was wrong.. He changed it and no problems.. The next day he went from Minecraft to youtube and it just went black.. I thought because of the time and date thing maybe it was the cmos battery.. But that did nothing.. Watched a ton of youtube and tried everything.. So i took it to a pro.. He told me that the cpu was fried because whoever repaired it previously did not put some kind of chip or regulator thing to prevent too much current to the cpu.. Which fried it.. Now my question is.. Can i swap out the motherboard and just replace it? I found one on alibaba but im afraid to throw away 500 for nothing. Also can i swap it out for a potentially better motherboard/cpu/gpu? His laptop is a Asus rog strix gl503ge. Any help or advice would ve greatly appreciated! Thanks, TJ

Hi, I would like to try my luck with this cooler and mobo combo. Since I have an i9 in an ITX case, I would need much cooling performance, but I would mainly buy it in a hope that it would be an ideal fit inside the mobo that is notoriously bad in terms of cooler space. I already have the mobo and I'm using it with an Arctic Liquid Freezer II 280 that barely fit in and bad contact between the board and the aio allows for thermal throttling. Has anybody tried it before? Alternatively, I would be happy for any suggestions on what AIO did actually fit (not just barely) inside that has a cooling capacity that can work with an i9.

Just bought my new motherboard, the Rog Strix b550-F ii Wifi gaming and my case is the fractal design focus G. After hooking it all up and going to turn it on the motherboard lights up but the power button on the case won’t work. No post, no fans spinning, nothing that shows any signs of life. when I connect it all to my old motherboard it works fine. I thought maybe it was because my cpu 8pin power connector wasn’t in all the way so I unplugged and replugged that in and still nothing. Tried flipping my power switch front panel connector and even starting the pc with a screwdriver thinking maybe it was just an issue with my connectors. Still nothing. Wondering if maybe this is a bios issue since it’s a new board and I have to update the bios on it? But I don’t think that would cause the pc to not even turn on at all. I don’t reckon the cpu or anything else would be faulty and all my parts were just working fine this morning before I installed the new MobO. Maybe a DOA issue? What are your thoughts and maybe some trouble shoots I can do.

Hello people I'm having a problem with my network on my asus rog strix z390-f motherboard. The problem is that when I use a 1-5 meter network cable, my internet won't connect, but when I use a 10 meter, it works. I should also mention that the router, is upstairs in my landlords house, and it's a cable inside the wall. The stretch on the cable in the wall is aprox, 25 meters. Hope there are some viceguy out there that can help me.

Hi! I'm considering doing a gpu upgrade. I currently use a 1080p 144mhz monitor, but want to change to a 1440p monitor in the future. So I'm considering 2 options: 1. ASUS Radeon RX Vega 56 ROG Strix OC - 395$ 2. ASUS GeForce RTX 2060 ROG Strix OC (you get FarCry New Dawn and Anthem included in the purchase) - 475$ (prices are higher in my country then compered to the US) I want to spend as little money as possible, but if it's worth paying more for the rtx 2060, i'm willing to use 475$, but that is kinda my limmit. My current specs are: MSI Gtx 970 i5-3470 with 8gb 1333mhz ram I know my cpu is getting old, but I cant afford doing and gpu and cpu upgrade. Would an rtx 2060 or Vega 56 be a terrible match with the i5-3470? Will a bottleneck just give me less fps or would it give me framedrops?? Thanks for all answers!

Hello,I have an ROG STRIX-GTX1060-6G-GAMING ( https://www.asus.com/us/ROG-Republic-Of-Gamers/ROG-STRIX-GTX1060-6G-GAMING/ ) GPU, and I've had it for 3 years already, and it's been great, but there's this little thing that started to bother me just now. On that webpage, the pictures clearly indicate that the card has led on all three fans, and that the ROG eye and text lights up good all the way. Now, mine looks like this: The ROG eye and the "REPUBLIC OF GAMERS" on the side of it clearly does not have its lights on, it only recieves some from the right side becouse the lights on the third fan are working. So the "GAMERS" word is pretty well lit up, not perfectly tho, and the eye logo and the other words are just dark and faded. The first two fans (going from left to right ofc) don't even light up at all!? Is this a faulty card and I've only noticed it after 3 years or are all of these just like this? I bought the card in 2016-11-11 (NOT from ASUS, I live in Hungary Europe) And it should have 3 years of limited warranty. Idk if it lasts.I noticed that on the right side of the GPU there are two of what look like to be 4-pin power connectors and I haven't plugged them in. I don't think that's the problem tho, I dont think you're supposed to plug those in. But if yes tell me lol Thanks

Hey guys I got a problem, hope you can help me: I recently purchased an Asus Rog Strix Arion with a WD Blue 1TB, SSD card. Together, it is an external SSD Card. The Specs: Asus Rog Strix: supports 1.2 GB/s tranfers USB-C thunderbolt cable (good quality --> supports reading and writing speeds of the device) WD Blue SSD: reading around 2.8GB, writing 2.4GB Laptop: Lenovo Yoga 920-ikb13, with 2 USB-C thunderbolt ports So now that i got all of the superfast transfer stuff the data I transfer (mostly pictures and Movie files) are still only transferring at 10-20 MB/S (200 MB/S at most) and when i test the reading and writing speed of the external via USBDeview, I tells me that reading speeds are: 642.86 MB/Sec and writing speeds are: 320.28 MB/Sec now i already discovered some possible causes: 1. It could be that my USBC drivers aren't updated to thunderbolt - thats why I downloaded the thunderbolt update for USBC ports for exactly my laptop from the lenovo support page, though when i try to install it over devicemgmnt --> Universal serial bus controllers --> usb root hub (3.0) --> update device manually --> choose the folder where the newly downloaded port software is located it tells me that windows already has the newest version for that device why? did it do smth wrong here? 2. the second problem is, how can my external ssd only run on the upper mentioned tested speeds, when its actually supposed to go twice as fast? Is this due to the usb root hub version or is that on the ssd itself? what do you guys suggest in general? What should be my next steps? I really want this ssd to run on at least 1GB/sec (not even bc i need it as much, but bc i paid for it) thanks so much in advance for reading through this crap and helping!!

I recently bought an ASUS ROG Strix Rx 480 8g and it ran FPS games such as Call of Duty or borderlands its temp stays around 88 C but whenever I launch games such as Skyrim or fallout they start to stutter while the temp reaches to 90 - 93 C and the PC shuts down. So my question is, if the space in picture enough to cooldown my GPU or is the GPU faulty?

So I built my pc about 9 months ago mainly for work with the idea of keeping room for upgrades. I upgraded with a GPU about 1 month ago, a 6gb GTX 1060. Initially I was using it for a light work load, mostly web & office docs. Now I do some light gaming on it - nothing too heavy. I've gotten the modding bug and I am just obsessed with keeping up with hardware trends, and having the best. I want to build a new PC - but when it came down to it, I thought "Do I really even NEED a new pc?" Budget is not really a concern, although I don't want to spend a huge amount of money if I don't have to. It comes down to the fact that I figure the pc I currently have is actually not a bad build by anyone's standards. Maybe it can be upgraded? Here's what I currently have: I am running on two 27" Acer HA270 screens, an additional $320 combined. There are also about $30 worth of Corsair 120mm LED fans. So I put the rig up for sale for $800 - +$100 for windows + $250 for both screens. I actually got some hits, and one commitment to buy the whole set up for $1150 if I hold it for him for another week. I said sure - and took the ads down. I think my price was fair - about $300 less than what I paid for everything, and it's practically new - in mint condition. And if the buyer doesn't follow through then I can keep it or relist it. BUT - what would I upgrade to? I'd be happier with a mobo with bluetooth and wifi - but nothing an adapter can't fix. Do I need to get the i7-8700k or i7-8086k? Is it even worth going down the i9x & x299 route? Just for more cores and threads when mine is faster speed-wise? I don't think I absolutely need more cores & threads, do I? Aesthetically I would like a new case for sure the phanteks p400s tge or evolv x when it comes out in August, and better gaming monitors. I would like to have my hand at water cooling. Is it silly to do all that and spend another $2500 when the only thing that would be better / faster would be a 1080ti GPU and the newer gaming monitors to hopefully game at 4k. I don't know - what would you do? If you weren't rich but you had the money? Would you sell and rebuild or just upgrade? My fear is that I do it and then it becomes obsolete by next year. The upgrade option includes upgrading and waiting for the next gen of nvidia gpu's and intel cpus but who knows when that will even be? What would you rebuild or upgrade to? Share your thoughts and if you want to post a full build then keep it about $2,500 or less and make sure 2 or 3 quality monitors are included.
