appraisal Selling my pc to build an itx one.
IHaveADisplayName posted a topic in New Builds and Planning
I built this PC less than two months ago. brand new parts cost $1900 USD, as shown in PCPartPicker. I’ve cleaned the PC free of dust about every month. Parts are in like-new condition. This PC can handle most games on the max setting with a 1440p ultrawide monitor at much more than 60 fps. Here is a link to the PCPartPicker website where you can see all the parts and prices: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/P3Q9N6 I am bored and want to build an ITX, so I want to sell my current PC to fund my next one, so I want to know how much I could sell it for. I personally think around 18–1700, but I am not entirely sure. I know the CPU and the ram timing inst great but it sure can game and is a powerhouse, If yall need more info about the PC feel free to ask.- 7 replies

Hello, I need help figuring out if I am about to waste my money or make a good deal instead. I currently use an old MacBook Pro 2019 (I got it for free) for my professional needs. However, recently a friend of mine decided to sell his current PC because he is moving to a new country and asked if I wanted to buy it. He is currently asking for 1600 GPB but said he would also settle for less as he's not trying to make money out of it. I am not an expert on PC parts, so I would like to get some more informed opinions on the matter. Country: United Kingdom Games, programs, or workloads that it will be used for: Software development with CPU-focused loads 3D Rendering (ray-tracing) Light machine learning Casual gaming (e.g., Satisfactory) Other details: Here is the list of parts he sent me: Motherboard: Asus Rog Maximus XI Code CPU: Intel(R) Core (TM) i7-9700K CPU @ 3.60GHz 8/8 RAM: 32 GB G.Skill 8GB × 4 GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 (8 GB) CPU Cooler: Corsair H100i Pro Power supply: Corsair TX850M HDD: WDC WD20EZRZ-00Z5HBO SSD: Samsung 860 EVO 1TB Monitor: Acer KG271 B 27.2 Inch Keyboard: Ducky One 2 Mini RGB Mouse: Logitech 9402 Attached are also two images of the peripherals and the PC running. I tried replicating the configuration on pcpartpicker.com, and my understanding is that he is asking for a bit less than the current prices for the individual parts. However, the components are not necessarily the newest, for example, by looking at the official INTEL page for the CPU, I can see that it was released in Q4'18. Thus, I would like to know if the computer will still be usable for a few years or if it is in need of urgent upgrades. Lastly, I intend to add an additional high-resolution 1440p monitor in the future, but given my use cases, I don't need particularly high refresh rates. Thank you very much in advance for any help with this situation!!

I've never built a pc before so be sure to criticize anything I'm doing horribly wrong. Budget (including currency): $2300-2400 Country: United States Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: A range of games such as Minecraft, Modern Warfare 2, Fortnite, BeamNG.drive, No Mans Sky, and Universe Sandbox all at very high or max settings. Other details: Using 2 165hz Monitors at 1080p PCPartPicker Link: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/BDTrHG

Budget (including currency): £2500 -ish Country: UK Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: New triple A titles etc Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Aiming to use the system for high end gaming at 1440p, but trying to kind of future proof for 4k, im currently on an old alienware system (yeah I know), with an EVGA 1070 so, this would be quite a leap up I think Case: Corsair 4000D CPU: I9-11900K (Free upgrade from i7-1100KF) CPU Cooler: MSI Coreliquid 240R Motherboard: MSI MAG Z590 Tomahawk RAM: 16GB of Corsair DDR4/3600mhz GPU: MSI 3080 PSU: MSI MPG A850GF (850W) Storage: Samsung 970 EVO 1TB M.2 (Plus older hard drives + 500GB SSD from existing rig) Any general feedback or suggestions would be greatly appreciated, also am I right in thinking that if I got 4x Cooler Master MF120 ARGB case fans, I could hook them up to the Motherboard without needing any other kit? Thanks guys!

Hi all, I recently swapped out my 3600XT for a 5800X, and I'd like to ask the community what a fair price would be for my old chip. I'm located in the greater Vancouver area and I usually do deals on Craigslist. Processor works/overclocks fine, I had it pinned at 4.25Ghz base with no issues. Prices are all over the map in my area, so some input would be appreciated. Thanks!

Budget (including currency): USD $500 Country: USA Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Multiplayer Gaming, Recording, Streaming, and Video Editing Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Looking for a small form factor to midsize case for future upgradability. I would like to play at 1080p and 60fps or higher. Hello all. Five years ago (March 29, 2015), I purchased a pre-built Alienware Area 51 R2 Desktop for ~$2,000, and I am interested in selling it. I understand that the computer has obviously lost its initial value, but I would like to make as much profit out of my machine as possible, while being reasonable. Honestly, I'd be happy if I could sell the desktop anywhere from $1,200 - $1500. Based off of the specs (Sorry if I haven't listed them properly or have left out any), does anyone mind giving me an appraisal for what my PC could sell for if I decide to sell it? I also understand that it depends on the market, location, etc, but I'd like to know if my price is fair given the system's components. Alienware Area 51-R2 Specifications Central Processing Unit - Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-5820K CPU @ 3.30GHz, 3301 Mhz, 6 Core(s), 12 Logical Processor(s) Motherboard - Alienware (Manufacturer), OXJKKD (Product), .5D3X842.CN697024BH0395. Random Access Memory - 8 GB Graphics Processing Unit - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980 Power Supply Unit - Dell Model D850EF-00 Reference Number: DPS-850AB-2 A (Max Power is 850W) The PSU is 80 Plus Storage - Model TOSHIBA DT01ACA200 (1.82 TB) I've benchmarked 3 different games today (Outlast, Resident Evil 2, and Dead by Daylight), and have gotten either a solid 60 fps or over on high settings. This is my first time selling a computer, so I'm not really sure what I need to know to tell the potential buyer, which is why I'm here. I'm selling this system so that I can build another one that (hopefully) performs the same, but at a significantly cheaper price. Thanks for your help guys.

I am trying to sell my a family members pc. It has a 9900k Evga gforce 2060 2x16gb Ballistx 3200 Asus prime 370 1tb Samsung 970 evo Corsair CX750M 240mm Corsair aio 4-240mm fans iCUE 220T case. It was used for design. I tried to look up the prices on ebay (I did look at sold only prices) and they add up to around $800. I haven't sold a pc before and wasn't sure how to price it. Ebay listings aren't always the best and with the market changing wasn't sure if they were still selling at that price. Thank you.

Been playing a lot of Deathloop lately, and playing that at 1440p on high settings I average around 70 fps. And it looks great, too. Currently running it stock so I'm also open to any suggestions to getting the most performance outta this thing.

Country: Canada; Ontario I'll cut right to the chase, but first I'll apologize if this is the wrong place for this. So, I don't really game anymore, I don't get the same/any enjoyment out of it, but I have an overkill rig not getting any use. I would like to sell it for whatever it's worth. Since I've been "out of the industry" as an enthusiast for 3-4 years, I don't know the general used value of my rig. I could just use your (CAD) opinion on what I should be looking for $$ wise: - i7-6700k cooled by Hyper 212 EVO on an ASUS Maximus board (V or VI I think) - 16 gb (2x8) 2400mhz Corsair Vengeance - GTX 980 Ti - Gigabyte windforce model - Boot Drive = Samsung 950 pro nvme | Samsung 850 evo 500 gb | toshiba 2 tb HDD | WD Green 1 tb Hdd - Corsair RM750x psu - All in NZXT H440 This PC basically screams 2015. Thanks guys

Hey there! I was rummaging around my attic and found some old PCs my family had stored there. I'm not too knowledgeable but I was wondering if someone with more expertise would be able to help me appraise them and see if there is anything worth Salvaging. There are three systems and they're pretty old so I don't expect to be able to salvage much out of them. After a quick glance, what I could see might be potentially worth saving are some HDDs, and maaaybe an i3? Could someone help me figure out what's worth saving and some potential uses for the salvaged pieces? System 1: Dell OptiPlex 790 Windows 7 Pro OA Intel core i3 500GB HDD Western Digital (pictured) System 2: Dell XPS 420 Windows Vista Intel core 2 Duo x2 Western Digital 320GB HDD There was a 3rd pc but I just grabbed the HDD out of that, it was the oldest of the three and didn't look promising but i'll attach a picture. Also found an old Nvidia GPU (can't tell what model, picture attached) TLDR: Found some old PCs, wondering if any of the parts are worth saving/selling? Need help appraising. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated, I'm excited to learn something from you guys about this. Regarding possible reuses, any suggestions are welcome! If we do figure out what I can save, I can then separate/repurpose those, but i'm wondering how best to dispose of the left over scrap? Cheers! - Maze

So I built this computer two years ago. I figured it was time to re-evaluate my build. I personally don't think any upgrade makes sense for this build but I wanted the opinion of others. Let me know if there's any financially logical upgrades I could make to my build. My last pc in which Im looking to sell is a water cooled fx 9590 on the crosshair v formula z motherboard, 4x8 Gb DDr3 at 1600 Mhz, strix gtx 970, 240 Gb ssd and a 3tb hdd. The case is none to asthetically pleasing, with an acrylic side panel and 2x120mm fans and no rgb. Im not looking for a buyer at this moment, but rather a price I should shoot for in selling the build (I was thinking $300). In addition, I could include 1-3 ~18" monitors, and how much more could I sell the build for if I included them? Thanks, any opinions appreciated

I have a bunch of (somewhat) old hardware laying around and I think I can make a quick buck selling them. But first I would like to know a reasonable price for them. all is used hardware and functional. I do not have the origional packaging or domination for anything either. So I placed this a few weeks ago, Didn't know that It was supposed to go to new builds and planning. Got moved and weeks later, still Haven't got a reply, So I am reposting. I know it's against the rules but I need to know how much to sell this stuff. Memory: both are ddr3, the viper dimms are each 4 GB while the xpg dimms are 8 GB. The xpg dimms were replaced when I upgraded to a system that required ddr4. The viper dimms were meant to be those replacements, but I was a dum-dum and didn't check to see if they are ddr4, the original packaging is lost but they are unused. Cooler: I do not know much about this one. It was part of the old system and did not give any problems. The mounting bracket is for am3+ and is the newest componet. Coming close to the pre-installed fan that came with another AIO. it is little used. ether fast card: I found this while digging in a old laptop bag. I don't have a reader so I don't know if the card is functional. It seems undamaged, however. Mobo (1): this one is a MSI-b350 m pro-vdh. I replaced this because I put a password on the bios and failed to remove it. Other than that the board is perfectly functional when tested with a ryzen 5 1400. It refuses to boot when there is a hardware change (unless the cmos battery has been uninstalled for atleast 24 hours) But the board has been sitting for about 3 months with the battery out so even the password may be gone at this point. I do not have the original box so it will be delivered in the box of the mobo that replaced it. (asrock b450 steel) Mobo (2): this msi 970A-g43 plus was the mobo for the old computer. It is fully compatible with the memory and the cooler I mentioned earlier. I don't have the original packaging So it will likely be delivered in the box of the mobo that replaced it. (ROG strix b350-F gaming) Mobo (3) I know the least about this board. I'll have to think about the pakaging for this board. But I got it when the church gave it away and is functional. (They got a new tower) I no longer have the dimms installed for it and the board is from the Xp days. I wouldn't mention it if it wasn't collecting dust (I hate it when things I own do that) and that I know there are some people who like retro hardware.
