I've been animating in Source recently and I have a weird problem. Every time I try and record in the tf2 engine built-in, it crashes and deletes all progress. what is happening? I have a pc with MORE than plenty of power that well exceeds Steam's recommended specs.

Hello, I have been experiencing problem with my laptop windows 11 animations while using an external monitor. First Id like to post specs of my laptop: Asus ROG Zephyrus M16 (GU603HM) 2021 - 3060 dgpu - 11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-11800H - 16gb ram - Windows 11 64bits (reinstalled Two months ago) - BIOS (i dont know the version but Ive updated it to the newest which was given to me by asus support) etc. The external monitor is BenQ BL 2480 (60hz), the laptop screen has 144hz screen though (is it a problem in this case?) The problem By the animations I mean mostly the window maximalisation and minimalisation. When using just the laptop everything works just fine, everything is smooth etc. But whith the monitor connected every animation starts to feel laggy (I tried different monitors, different cables but with the same result). When I plug the monitor to dgpu port some of the problems go away the animations are smoother but when having a window opened on full screen (like a chrome not a game) the animation is smooth until the last second where it bugs out (so far probably the best result but still annoying). What Ive tried I tried contacting asus support, I updated Bios drivers, GPU drivers tried different monitors but with no result. I tried buing a thuderbolt display port cable which also didnt solve the problem. To be honest I dont think this might be a hardware issue because the result is the same with monitor plugged in via hdmii port, usb c port or usb c dgpu port. To be honest Its pretty annoying and as a result I most of the time use only the laptop monitor what makes often my work bit harder. I also tried reinstalling the whole windows with no result. I figured out that in this case the performance of the laptop might not play a role (the task manager doesnt show any signs of throttling). Possible problems I ve found out that the problem source might be comming from a nvidia optimus or the fact that when dgpu is running it has to push everything through igpu (I have no idea how does it work) and that my laptop doesnt have a mux switch (which would enable switching between dgpu and igpu and not having them connected). The reasoning behind this is when I use the dgpu port animations on both screens are smoother (until the last moment as mentioned earlier). Other idea I have is the different refresh rates of the monitor and integrated screen. Well thats everything Ive got. Thank you for any ideas how to fix it :))).

Does Windows OS Animations Utilize Cpu (without igpu) or GPU/IGPU . like the normal animations while opening and closing a software / the windows 10 start menu animations , or telegram animations ( wanted to know if it affects my GPU performance ......... if it only affects my CPU "i5 9400F" but i will have to turn off some animations if it uses GPU power)

Not sure what is causing it but on my right monitor when i minimize an application it runs the animation for maximizing an application, but when i restore the app it runs the minimize animation. I soft fixed it by going to display settings and switching primary monitor to my left then back to my right. You can see a video of what happens here. I have searched for this on google with many different wordings and have had no luck finding anyone else with these issues. Anybody have an idea whats happening? 828463375_footageofissue.mp4

Hello, I own a private macbook pro 2016 (i7 2.7ghz, dont know the exact model) and I find that the animation when switching between desktops lags a tiny bit, in relation to the macbook pro 2013 (which I owned at work). Its not like 30 fps or anything but I feels like 50 or so when my macbook from work was butter smooth. Also some web pages also lag whilst scrolling for example youtube. Has any one of you ever experienced this kind of "issue" before? All ideas are welcome, thank you in advance!

Hey can u help me change the window animations in Manjaro Deepin PlZ?

After a few months of troubleshooting, I'm still not sure what's happening here. My main monitor is connected via displayport. If I plug in my Oculus headset on HDMI, everything is fine. However, if I plug in my tv via hdmi, my windows craps itself. Everything still works, but much slower, and it lags. For instance scrolling my volume wheel now shows the volume going up and down, exactly as I scrolled it, but much later. If I scroll it for 2 second it takes about 10 seconds to catch up. It does all the actions! but later/slower. Same goes for hitting the windows button 10 times, normally it would be basically instant, now it takes about 10 seconds to catch up all the animations. So my tv is the problem, you would think, right? Nope. Because if I keep the cable in, then log out of windows and log back in, everything is absolutely perfect. Also, if I relog so everything is fast again, then take the cable OUT of the tv and continue on my main monitor, everything slows down as well. So I figure it's something windows related: (un)plugging a hdmi screen causes massive slow downs, until windows is restarted (relogged). Tried a different HDMI cable/different HDMI port on both sides, doesn't change anything. This only happens when I use the monitor span, or when I use "show only on 2" (2 is the tv). If I use the duplicate feature the lag doesn't happen. The monitor is 100hz, the tv is 60hz. Maybe that has something to do with it (them not being synced). However if I show only on 2, so when the cable connects, it turns off my monitor and only uses the tv, shouldn't that not be a problem? It shouldn't have to sync anything then right?

Hello everyone! I am having a major issue, which is that my games are temporarily running too fast. The image feels sped up, yet it remains at high fps. When im running, the animation and souns are too fast and I get set back a few metres every few steps. I experienced this in PUBG and Dead By Daylight so far, haven't tried out other games yet. I'm guessing it's a network issue since it only occured on 2 evenings so far whilst I was able to play normally a few hours ago. Just in case, this is my hardware Everything is on the latest drivers. Ryzen 5 1600 @3.8Ghz 1.34V 16GB DDR4-3000 RAM ASRock B350ITX/ac GTX 1060 6GB Strix 500W bquiet! PSU SSD + HDD Any help on this?

Hi. I would like to start with animation 2D animations, and I am asking myself what do I really need to start with this? I would like to draw on my computer and animate on it. PUT I read a topic on the internet and it said that you would need a tablet for 2D animations... Would my Asus Zenpad 10 (Z301MF) be good for that?

Hey, In our design class, we had to disassemble an engine and model each of the parts. For the final presentation, i wanted to be all fancy and do a render of an animations where the engine is in motions (crank is rotating, etc), but a single frame took 3+ mins. tldr: Is there a way for me to render animations that wont take years on my cpu?

I just upgraded to a Zotac GTX 980Ti AMP video card and I've found I'm having problems playing some older games (although I was getting this before, this is now a clean build so I presumed the problems would be gone). The games I'm having problems with are (so far): -Simpsons Hit and Run -When driving in a car the game randomly speeds up in parts making the car fly across the road and damage, the smoke coming out of the car is also speeded up. -World at War -Frame rate drops, I didn't think I would suffer from this on a game like WaW considering I can run new games fine at 60fps. -Command and Conquer Generals: Zero Hour -Tree animations are sped up and typing in-game is speeded up so when I press the backspace it removes multiple characters instead of one. Does anyone know the problems? I'd really appreciate a fix or at least what's causing it. Thanks!
