Hi, Atm I own PC350SE after using PC350 for years. I started using condenser microphone few months ago, so I found my headset mic useless. I was semi pro CS:GO player attending lan tournaments, so closed headphones were must have. Now I stopped playing competitive and would like to enjoy gaming a little bit more. I find PC350SE sound clear, but flat and not that good with positioning. I'm also not able to separate voice and footsteps sometimes. All sounds seems to be too close to each other. I've read about AD700x having big and great soundstage. Any opinions on that? I would also appreciate some opinions from anyone who used both models. Upgrade (or downgrade. idk how to call that change) would cost me ~60usd. Price of Audio Technica in EU is ridiculous (110 USD vs 160 GBP [amazon]). Is it even worth it?

Hey guys, so at the moment I own a pair of ATH-AD700's they are great and comfortable headphones nothing is really wrong with them but at times it gets loud where I am playing (lounge room) and it really puts off trying to hear the enemies. I play CSGO and directional sound is very important to me I was looking at Sennheiser G4ME ZERO, they seem pretty good if anyone has any other recommendations that'd be great ive also owned these headphones for 3 years so maybe it might be time for an upgrade, Price range is around $150-200. Hello, I have been struggling with a decision which is where to get a Beyerdynamic DT990 PRO, Audio-Technica ATH-AD700 or a AKG K-701, the primary use of which will be gaming 70% (all genre of games), music 20% (mainly dubstep, alternative modern rock and some pop) and films 10%. I will be purchasing these headphones with the Asus Xonar DGX and a headphone amp which I am not sure about yet. My priorities for these headphones will be an immersive gaming experience (I play all games from RPG's to FPS') so good bass is a must, however I also want to play competitively which will require good positional audio, but I still want an immersive experience>positional audio however only by a bit, keep in mind that price is not a problem with these 2 headphones, however if you suggest anything new make sure it's in the range if ~£150 I have a couple of questions: 1) Is the bass really that bad on the AKG 701's? 2) Is the DT990's mids really that bad as I have heard? 3) What amp should I get £80 max (I know wrong forum but need more opinions anyway ) 4) Is bass that important for immersion in the game (such as Skyrim, BF3 etc.)? 5) What headphones do you think will be the most immersive in games and the music I listen to? 6) Is the AD700's bass and mid bass really that bad (don't forget I want immersion and I listen to music and watch movies, not just game competitively) 7) What do you think would be the best out of the three for my uses? (if you have more suggestions I have a budget of about £150 - I live in the UK).

I was looking at the Superlux hd-681 evo which i thought should be pretty good for gaming considering the other superlux products getting good rep for gaming at their price. Hay everybody I'm wondering how to mod my ad700s ? Well I'm painting the grills black too and i have a detachable mic. Here are some of my ideas -I was thinking of just putting together the normal stereo cable and a mic cable -Putting a socket so i can unplug a trrs to the headphone then to a splitter then to computer. -rewiring with Mogami cable i heard that improves sound but i don't think i can buy it in New Zealand though. Im not sure what else to do if anyone else has some good ideas or some good posts people made making them ?

Hello guys ! First of all I need to state that this is my first post here, I am currently building my first big gaming PC with few accessories. I will use this for hardcore gaming but I have a youtube channel too that I will be commentating on. Aside from that let's jump on the items I use on my build. (what is actually usefull to know i guess) Motherboard : MSI Z87 G43 VideoCard : Sapphire R9 290 Tri-x OC Heaphones : AudioTechnica AD700 Okay let's start with the most basic questions. I need advices about soundcard and a microphone I will buy. 1. I want to enjoy my headphones as much as I can which means surround sound, for that I know that It requires a soundcard like a Xonar from ASUS. If I understand correctly the motherboard Im gonna be using already have Sound Blaster Cinema audio but is it enough for what I am looking for ? I want to know if buying a Xonar soundcard will make it more enjoyable or if it's not a big difference between the two. 2. Speaking of the Xonar Soundcard, I know there is the DG and the DX version that comes respectively for PCI and PCI Express. I just don't know exactly what PCI is (my motherboard is using the PCI E right ?). So which one of those two should I get if I do choose to get one ? 3. Now let's talk about the microphone. I am very hesitant when it comes to making my mind about this. Because voice clarity will be an issue in voice talk and recording commentary I need at least a decent mic. So far two options caught my attention. The AT2020 USB from AudioTechnica which is a impeccable choice but comes in a fairly high price. Above 100 bucks most of the time. Then on a completely different side I really seem to be about to get a ModMic 3.0 (or 4.0 if it comes out soon) comes from up to 40 bucks max. I have seen a LOT of people recommending this for all kind of uses. It is light modular and records your voice with an amazing quality concidering the size of the thing. My question here is simple, what do you guys think of those ? Anyone uses them ? If yes will the Modmic get me where I want to go or should I wait a little and get the higher amazing quality AT2020 but a lot more expensive microphone ? If you guys have any suggestion, questions, advices please tell me, I am eager to hear what you think. Thanks again, have a good one. .EDIT. So I know this is't too big of a question but would there be a substantial difference in sound quality coming from AD700's? I know the bass will be slightly improved but will clarity or anything else be better? I already have a Fiio E10 to help cleanup.

Hey Forum, Have you guys had any experience with these headphones? I plan on attaching the mod mic to one of these and using it as a headset. The only problem is that I don't know which to get. The 700x are a successor to the 700's but have they improved enough to be worth the extra $40? Input is always appreciated. Thanks -Dominic
