Hi, I want to get a new SSD because my old one keeps filling up with stuff. I was thinking about buying a Samsung 990 Pro or a WD Black SN850X, and I was looking around the Internet to find out whether my motherboard, Z97 MPOWER MAX AC, is compatible or not. I found some posts stating it was compatible and some stating it wouldn't make a difference between a normal SSD and a M.2. I also found an article where someone used a "Lycom DT-120 M.2 SSD to PCIe 3.0 x4 Adapter Card" to attach a NVMe SSD to his Z97 motherboard. I honestly have no clue what to do. Maybe you could help me understand the differences and decide what I should buy. Thanks in advance!

So, recently, I purchased an Optiplex 990. It came with a 500w PSU, so I thought it would be able to handle my R7 260X. I put it in, and nothing. I update the bios, I switch to a 600W PSU, and nothing. So, I make sure that it's not a gpu problem, so I plug the 260x into another PC, and it works. So, to see if the PCIE slot is bad, I plug another GPU into the 990, an HD 6570, and it shows up in BIOS. So, I plug in the 260x back in, and it shows up at boot, but disappears when I get into Windows, and then when I restarted the PC, it never showed up in BIOS again. I even tried Linux to see if it would recognize the card, but no. I'm at a loss. The GPU is fine, the slot is fine, the PSU is fine, I don't understand what's happening. Any help is appreciated!

Hey all, Well, I gave my old rig to my dad for use since I didn't need it any longer, I moved to a dorm and used my laptop for the past years and will continue to do so for the following two months. Some things came up and I blew my budget on a car so I'm looking to build a new PC on a tight budget. What I currently have: BenQ 24" LED Full HD monitor Keyboard & mouse Speakers and headphones WD Blue 1TB HDD (Data from old PC) WD Black 2TB HDD (New) Patriot Blaze 120GB SSD (New) Sapphire R9 270X 2GB GPU (from old PC) What I need: Well, everything else. I was thinking of getting an AMD FX 8370E CPU which is on a "get rid of stock" sale right now for 120e (usual price for it is 180-203e), for example an i3 6100 is 123e and an i5 6600k is 254e (double the price of the Fx 8370E). A GA-990X-Gaming SLI will set me back 94e, while a decent Z170 board will set me back 160e, even good H170 boards cost around 140e. To be honest the AMD combo would cost me a lot less and I could even fit a decent cooler into that price, it wouldn't need to be some expensive cooler since CPU is rated for a TDP of 95W. The PSU and case will be chosen later on. I'm asking if I should buy the FX 8370E CPU while it's still on such a good sale? I will probably update to an RX 470 later on but not at this point in time. This CPU will never be paired with high end GPUs in my system. While this will be a gaming rig, most games that I run work on my laptop (i3 4005u, 8GB RAM, 820m 1GB, ssd+hdd), except Overwatch and Battlefield 1 which I plan on buying once I build this. It will also be used for coding, graphics design, some rendering and a bit of 3D modeling. So this is supposed to be an allrounder on a budget. What do you guys think? If you want to check out pricing in Serbia visit Emmi.rs In order to get the price in Euro, take the price shown on site and divide by 123. You can compare the CPU and motherboard pricing there. Thanks

Hello everyone, I'm a beginner when it comes to audio hardware, so I'm asking what would be a good USB amplifier that I could plug in to my PC? (also using DC power of course) My budget is around 50-70 euros for the AMP. Also the sites that I would order it from are Amazon.de or Thomann.de The headphones that I would use it with, would be the Beyerdynamic DT 990 Pro (250 ohm) Thank you.

I found a refurbished 990 for pretty cheap, with an i7 2600 but im looking for a compatible psu, because i heard that the dell psu are some times incompatible and wont fit with the with the side cover handle. im looking at a rx 480 8gb for it. I found this thermal take one which is in my budget. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B014W3EM2W?pf_rd_p=c2945051-950f-485c-b4df-15aac5223b10&pf_rd_r=VQPMH61Y9NSAQYF9PS91 5.51 x 5.91 x 3.4 in for this psu. I have no idea what the dimensions for the case are.

My previous headset was a Sennheiser 363d. Currently what I have in mind and just cant decide: HD598 HD650 HD700??? Beyerdynamic DT990 Pro 250ohm I'm also open to other options and any input would be appreciated. If you have to pair with an AMP/DAC please recommend those as well. On a side budget I'm also going to be needing a mic and if you have any in mind please send it my way.

I'd like to ask the community about a recent gaming build (on a budget as I'm a universitarian now) I've recently made. I could post the full build as a separate topic if you like to see more or suggest (that would be even better); Briefly the machine is basically a Dell Optiplex 990 MT (the "big" case version) which I bought cheap from UK (I'm Italian, from Milan, prices for hardware is higher); It sorts now i7-2600, 12Gb of mismatched brand but correct speed DDR3 1333Mhz, Liteon-it SSD 256Gb as main drive along HDD and a GTX 1060 GS 6Gb. I was wondering on this Q67express if I could upgrade to a not tested 2600k remaining able to change multiplier through software like intel's XTU (within stock unchangeable voltage) to get a bit more CPU performance. It's on the same 95w Tdp. Overclocking FSB seems impossible, and I can't even find the clock generator on the MB which seems "hidden". I know it's not an overclocking MB (I used to have an assembled pc years ago) but it makes me crazy that I can't even gain some Mhz!

Hey, im wondering about this build, since the cpu is such a power hungry beast, and also gets really hot when idling and in full load. the MSI website says you need special thermal paste, and what does that mean exactly, what is special thermal paste? I will be cooling this cpu with a "Cooler Master Neptun 240M" yes i know im on the red team, but still need help figuring this out.. any answer is much appreciated!

Hey everyone, I was checking out new mobos for my wife's build. She's a hardcore AMD enthusiast. She wants to take advantage of the new M.2 SSD architecture. While perusing for a mobo solution that meets her needs, I found that Asus only has a 970 board that is SLI and M.2 Key type 2242/2260/2280 capable. ASRock 990FX Extreme6 uses the 990FX chipset, is SLI capable, but the M.2 doesn't specifically state that it is M.2 M Key type 2242/2260/2280 capable, which leads me to believe it isn't. However, I'm not really sure if that key type is necessary for the Samsung 850 Evo M.2 drive. I went with it on my x99-SLI board, just to be safe. So, what I'm getting at here is: What's the reliability of the ASRock brand? I have zero experience with them and tend to stick with Gigabyte or Asus. What's the capability difference between the 990 and 970 chipset and will I see a performance difference on a FX-9590 and Fury X system load? Does the Samsung 850 Evo require M.2 M Key type 2242/2260/2280 capability, or is the SATA III PCI-E 2x capability of the ASRock board simply enough? Thanks in advance!

Hello there, i have recently purchased a MXL 990 XLR version. I have been having trouble with the mic being too quite for people to hear me. I currently have it Mic-XLRtoXLR-Phantom Power-XLRto3.5mm I was wondering if i purchased XLR to USB( http://www.amazon.com/HDE-Female-Cable-Instruments-Microphones/dp/B0050CEEIW/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top?ie=UTF8) it that would fix my issues. OR, what could be causing the issues, my mic seems to receive audio, but just very quietly. Thank You (I do Have a Phantom Power Supply)

Hi guys, I'm planning to build my new pc and would like to ask if AMD 8-Core FX 9590 4.7 GHz Processor is compatible with MSI 990FXA GAMING Desktop Motherboard. I would also like to ask if you would recommend MSI Radeon R9 390 Gaming 8G Graphics Card or what would you recommend instead. All this is going to require a lot of power, of how much should my power supply be? Considering the processor requires 220W and for the graphics card they recommend 400W should I go for a 750W power supply or something a bit more powerful in case I add something else to the pc later? And what brand would you recommend for the power supply? Thanks very much

I'm thinking of purchasing a GeForce GTX 980 graphics card but at the same time i want to wait until the GTX 990 model is released - i suppose it will be a dual-core card based on GTX 980. Is there a reasonable chance that 990 will be released by mid or late April this year? By the way, i haven't seen any news or rumors lately about 990, only about 980 Ti and Titan X. Has nVidia abandoned all current plans for GTX 990?

I'm using an ASUS Sabertooth 990FX motherboard and have 3 fans installed. All connected straight to the motherboard. The rear and front ones are spinning, but the one above the front one isn't. Please post suggestions. Note: I've opened up my PC and made sure everything is plugged in. No problem there..

Hey guys, I dunno if this question has been asked before here (nothing showed up when I searched for it), so sorry if it has been. Anyways, the motherboard I'll be using will be the ASRock 990FX Extreme9 since it's the only high-end motherboard with a fair price where I'm from... about $230. "What the?" Yes, I know. But the ASUS Sabertooth 990FX R2.0 and Crosshair V Formula Z motherboards both go for almost $300 a piece! Not fair... Back on track, would you guys suggest that I pay extra to get the FX 9590 (about $400) or should I just stick with the 8350 (about $250) and an H100i liquid cooler (about $110) and overclock it to be nearly equals with the 9590? Or is that even possible? I don't really have a budget (I work hard!), but I still don't want to throw money into something that isn't really worth the extra cost. Oh, and I should mention that this build will be paired up with a Sapphire R9 290X Tri-X 4GB and will be used for gaming, video/photo editing, and Blender. Thanks!

So i've been looking all over this forum to decide which headset i should choose for my new gaming rig. The answer was obvious: not to get a headset. So there i bought the DT 990 Pro from beyerdynamic, i thought they serve a nice value for 150$. Thing is, i hardly found any reviews on youtube for these cans, and not even one that talks about how they sound for gaming. On the other hand, i've found many headset reviews. The question is..if a nice pair of headphones is miles better than a gaming headset, why don't people review them then? I know companies that sell gaming accessories are interested in advertising their products through popular youtube channels, wouldn't audio companies want the same thing?

Is there an e-tailer someone could recommend for trying to find a new pair of DT 990 Premium 600 ohm for under $380? I went through the entire authorized dealers page on Beyerdynamic's site for US/CA and $269 w/ $25 iTunes GC was the cheapest I found outside of $250 @ NCIXUS that's backordered (also not an authorized dealer of Beyerdynamic). Has anyone gotten them for less? If so I may just wait for a temp price drop or sale. I can always just go with the DT 990 Pro 250 ohm, as I already have the DT 770 Pro 250 ohm (that fit my head perfectly), but would like to get my moneys worth out of my Schiit stack. I know there are very minute differences from lots of reading, but that still won't put my mind at ease. I don't want buyers remorse having known I could have gotten better for just a little more scratch. I won't be buying these for portable use. They'll be powered by my Schiit Magni+Modi. Coiled vs. straight cable makes no difference to me. Neither does the difference in clamping pressure. What does make the difference to me is that the 600 ohm should be better. The soundstage and imaging are my primary concerns. They aren't worth a ~$340 difference to me though...

Hey guys, Just a quick question for everyone in general, what do you think nvidia is doing with the GTX 790? Did the TITAN Z? And what about the 890? When would that come out? I'm wondering because near the end of this year or even fall I'm going to upgrade my graphics card. Current hardware is an i7 4770K @ 4.3ghz, 16GB memory @ 2400mhz, and the only this missing is an amazing GPU that will last me a long time with games at ultra settings. I currently have an overclocked Radeon HD 7950, but I was going to switch over to nvidia if they came out with the $1000 x90 (790 or 890) card, otherwise if there isn't going to be one by the end of the year I'm just going to buy an R9 295X2 for $1500 and get a 1000-1200 watt PSU. Thank you so much for your help, any info or suggestions completely welcome!

So after months of dwelling within forums I've come to a conclusion, I'll either get the HD598 or DT990 pro. My 1st question is quite simple, is any of the aforementioned products about to be replaced in the near future? I don't want to be the guy to buy some headphones in the last 3 weeks of their life. The second one is regarding which one I'd like the most, I'm linking some youtube tracks as examples of the music i listen to: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GnaTBWr-5hY Prices: HD598 50 ohm: 1490 sek <=> $230 DT990 pro 250 ohm: 1380 sek <=> $215 Thank you for your time!

Hello and happy new year to the forum members! Are there anyone here running Gigabyte 990FXA series boards and more specifically the GA-990FXA-UD7? I'm interested in the VRM temps you are getting while your CPU is under load. I would like to know temps for any 990FXA board if you have one so not just for the UD7. If you have a Gigabyte 990FXA board; can you post the VRM temps and what cooling do you have on the VRM? Stock or water etc? I'm trying to figure out how much I dare to push mine further . Currently I am getting steady 60C VRM temps while my 8350 is running 5GHz on all cores and doing 2 hours of Prime95 Small FFT. Cooling is a custom water loop by the way. Currently CPU volts are 1.4625V at BIOS and CPU-Z reports them at 1.456V. At BIOS the volts are +0.175V over stock. For the hell of it I have power saving stuff still on although turbo boost stuff is disabled. Everything seems so stable that it's scary almost . My old Phenom 1100T liked to blue screen way more when I played around with overclocking. For some reason I have not had a single blue screen with the 8350 yet. *knocks on wood* I did test with all power saving stuff disabled and did two hours of Prime95 but VRM temps went up 10C compared to the power saving options being on. CPU temps are ranging between 48C and 56C (according to software) currently while running Prime95 depending on power saving settings. So help a brother out if you could . What's your VRM temp?
