Building a pc in coming months and was considering if intel 8th gen was worth waiting for. I have heard they are being announced at gamescom later in the month but have not yet heard when you will actually be able to buy them. does anybody know of specs, pricing etc? thanks

Hi, I Just sold my i7-8700K to buy the i9 9900K (don't need a lesson in price/performance, i just wanted the best and using the money i sold the i7 for made the i9 not that expensive), and i am wondering whether the same problems* experienced by the 8th gen still exist. *meltdown & spectre etc If i understand it correctly the bugs where an architectural flaw which could only be "fixed" (but more like "botched" leading to marginal performance decrease, especially in storage if i remember correctly) by updating BIOS and windows drivers. Did they mange to fix the flaw before the 9th gen? Surely it makes sense for consumers to think so as a new product shouldnt have a flaw, but at the same time fixing a architectural flaw, implementing it and then get it through new testing phase, then getting it into production must take some time. Do anyone know whether it is fixed, and if so do you have sources? I tried to search google with no luck, probably an answer out there but must be buried in "news and leaks" which mostly came up. And one more thing, I had to update my bios to newest version (i have z370) to support 9th gen, is the bios patch applied regardless what CPU is installed (only relevant if 9th gen is fixed), I know this question is way more techinical and harder to find out, but I would be surprised if they managed to make 2 different versions to operate in the BIOS for different CPU generations, but maybe it's not that difficult, as said IDK. Could you please help me figure out if I should wait for the 9th Gen Intel CPUs or buy AMDs or Intel's current Gen CPUs. Hi, for compatibility i need to change mi mobo, but the one i need is not on stock for 7th gen, only for 8th. So im thinking about upgrading gen, but i dont have the money to buy a brand new i5 1151v2 only and i3 1151v2. Now i have a i5 7500, 4 core at 3.4 GHz and im evaluating change to an i3 8100, 4 core at 3.6 GHz for budget. Will i be loosing performance? or it will improve? I use the PC mainly for gaiming maxing fps (have a 1060 6gb), so mostly playing on medium to high, the most demanding is pubg. I also use the pc for my college, simple stuff, excel, pdf, etc. Will i loose performance? will i still be able to record and stream? Thank you for taking the time to read

I'm looking forward to buy them, H - series specifically, I already know about the Z370 motherboards but they are way too much for my needs and my pocket . I have an i5-6500 and I'm considering of buying a new cpu.. is it possible to combine an 8th gen cpu or even a 7th gen?

I was wondering, is Intel 8th gen K CPUs like 8700k, beter than intel 7th gen X? Basically is intel 8700K better than 7820X? I know that there are many videos of benchmarks for both of them but none of those are helping me find the answer. THANKS!!

I want to buy a laptop for productivity, no gaming ever. My choice boils down to i5-8250u and i7 7700hq, either an Asus or the HP Power laptop.
