Hi all, Which of memory speed would be best to pair with my MSi Tomahawk Max motherboard? I'm getting confused by MSi's website saying stating: 1DPC 1R Max speed up to 7800+ MHz 1DPC 2R Max speed up to 6600+ MHz 2DPC 1R Max speed up to 6400+ MHz 2DPC 2R Max speed up to 5600+ MHz I want to fill all 4 slots in the motherboard, and I was going to purchase 2 of the following (for a total of 64GB RAM): CORSAIR VENGEANCE DDR5 RAM 32GB (2x16GB) 7200MHz CL34 Intel XMP iCUE Compatible Computer Memory - Black (CMK32GX5M2X7200C34) Although based on the dot points from MSi's website, by having all 4 slots filled am I even going to get 7200Mhz? Or should I simply buy something cheaper? Thanks in advance everyone!

Hi I'm looking for some help in sorting our my new build computer. Since building it I've been having continual battles with bluescreens and memory errors while shutting down along with some weird glitchiness. Specs are: I9 13900K w/ H170 elite Asus Z790 Extreme Seagate firecuda 530 2TB 2x16Gb corsair vengeance ddr5 7200 C34 RTX3090 FE windows 10 build 19045 64bit it's a retail version power supply is a corsair HX1200 OS - Windows 8.1, 8, 7, Vista ? x86 (32-bit) or x64 ? What OS was originaly installed on the system? Is the OS an OEM version (came pre-installed on system) or full retail version (YOU purchased it from a retailer)? Age of system (hardware) Age of OS installation - have you re-installed the OS? CPU model Video Card model MotherBoard - (if NOT a laptop) Power Supply - brand & wattage (if laptop, skip this) System Manufacturer Exact model number (if OEM or laptop) Laptop or Desktop? On first install using windows 11 pro I had loads of issues. Eventually found the ramm was faulty and got a replacement set (memtest ftw) however even after a complete reformatt I was getting constant crashes and weird errors. This coupled with not being able to get my audio interface to behave properly meant I went back to windows 10 Pro. Didn't fix anything apart from the audio interface stuff. All installs done with bios set to auto so no xmp or anything. I've run several memtest sessions and no errors on the current ramm. Some of the errors: Kmode_exception bsod when installing windows Nvwebhelper memory error on shutdown Kaspersky memory error on shutdown (have since ditched this to avoid any issues) Illegal error when watching YouTube videos happens repeatedly after a few minutes I was getting a continual perfdata log exceeded file size error in event viewer Mdm declared configuration operation failed Mscorsvw.exe process terminated due to an internal error in .net runtime The list is huge. I'm at a complete loss as to what to do with so many errors. Any help would be greatly appreciated! I'm on the latest BIOS revision and intel management engine revision.

This is going to be a bit of a long question mixed in with a story so sorry in advance. So, many months ago I ordered a second hand SAN (Similar to a NAS) from Ebay (Dell Equallogic ps4000XV) which works great and 9 second hand WD RE 2TB hard drives which are unsupported but at the time appeared to be fine. The only thing that I didn't understand was that the drives were reporting to be running at 5400 RPM instead of 7200RPM which was strange as the drives should be 7200RPM however, I didn't think twice as all drives were the same and because they are technically unsupported Now this setup worked fine in an ISCSI setup for ages until 2 of the drives failed. Now, I don't run it all the time and I was expecting the drives to last longer but I thought maybe I just had 2 bad drives and I ordered 2 more identical drives but this time I ordered them new on Ebuyer and installed them and since I was running a raid 6 no data was lost and the SAN rebuilt everything fine. This happened a fair few months after the original drives and maybe 2 months ago. Anyway, I have just looked at the disk interface and I have noticed that the 2 new disks I ordered report an RPM of 7200RPM which is the correct speed for my drives but the others still report 5400. Anyway back to my question, I was wondering if you people thought theses original disks I ordered from Ebay are fake/dodgy or not, noting else about them appears wrong or fake and its only really the speed which is making me question the authenticity of the drives? The model numbers of the drives in question are WDC WD2003FYPS-27W9B0 or WDC WD2003FYPS-27Y9B0

Will one have a significant speed difference to edit off of?

Im looking for a BIG USB 3.0 Hard drive for my XBox, after learning that my usb splitter couldn't actually power my 3 1tb HHD's and my 256g SSD, i just need a BIG fast HHD to plug in the back and forget about it.

Okay, I'm currently building my first rig and I'm getting piece by piece. Today I got delivered my storage units. I got a 240GB Adata SSD to install Windows and all that quick stuff. For mass storage I was planning on getting a 3TB 7200 RPM drive. I got a mail from Newegg and bought a 4TB Seagate drive, however the order was processed in like 2 minutes, so it was too late for when I realised I didn't read the RPM speed and it wasn't listed anywhere (not Newegg, not Amazon, not even the Seagate spec sheet). I later found in articles and other local dealers that it was 5400 RPM. So I haven't taken the damn drive off the anti-static bag it came in, I've read that they're stupidly slow, but I have no idea if the reviewers were super picky or exaggerating. Should I try to sell it and get a 3TB 7200 RPM?

So I'm wanting to get a HDD with a speed of 7200 RPM. I'd like it to be at most 6TB, but 3 TB would be preferred. Are there any black Friday deals along with these HDDs that are worth snagging up? My budget is around $200.

Hi folks, I need a new HDD, There are two options, one is WD10EZEX which is 1TB 7200 RPM and the other is WD10EZRZ which is 2TB 5400 RPM. This drive will be my boot drive as I have no money to afford a 500GB SSD for now, I plan to buy an SDD 2017 Q1/2. And my system is old anyways. I don't have SATA3, it's only SATA2. I don't really care about the 5400 or 7200 speed but what I wonder is their reliability. And The 2TB will come in handy in the future when I uprgrade from my old system (Q8200). Currently I use 500GB 5400 RPM 2.5 drive and I will return this back to the laptop. So you see that I am not bothered much about the 5400 RPM and I lean towards to 2TB 5400 RPM drive. ___THEY BOTH ARE 70$___ so I think the 2TB one is better value. Thanks for the help and support

Doing a budget build work PC. Went with a M.2 Pro for OS. But for storage of all my important files, videos, and maybe even games I wanted to use HDD. But I am completely confused on the Red and black. Red seems to be more of a safe drive to use, and black appears to be better performance on forums. But when I compare I see both black & red at 7200rpm 6gb sata 64mb cache. Only difference being red is $10 more. What am I missing here? Any help most appreciated thanks

Building a PC and was wondering if buying two 1TB hard drives would be better or worse in any way compared to a single 2TB hard drive. I'll have Games on an SSD, Programs & OS on the one hard drive and excess stuff on the second one. Opinions?

Anyone know what's the best Mechanical drive on the 2.5" platters with a 7200 RPM flavor? For the price and low fail rate?

So I'm on the market for a 7200 rpm HDD with preferably 4TB tho I can go for 3TB if the drive is better. What I have in scope is either the Seagate SSHD or WD Black both with 4TB models. I've heard some good alternatives would be Seagate Barracudas, WD Reds or Greens, but aren't these spinning at 5900 rpm at those capacities? For now I'm wanna use the drive for game storage, tho I'm starting on a 3D education soon so I will use it to store textures and models too. Price is a concern, it's always a concern, but it can be overlooked. So any recommendations?
