I've been asked by a friend to build a PC for her. The main use case would be gaming, as this is her first PC after only having a laptop. The budget is pretty tight, at around 700€. Here are a few ideas: - Processor: Ryzen 5 3600 ~ 170€ - Graphics: Nvidia GTX 1650 Super ~ 170€ - Power Supply: Corsair 550W or 500W Vengeance ~53€ - Mainboard: Gigabyte B450M S2H mATX ~ 62€ - RAM: G.Skill DIMM 16GB DDR4 3200MHZ Dual ~72€ - Case: Fractal Design Focus G Mini (micro ATX) ~50€ - Storage: a boot SSD (I'm not sure wether I should go NVME or SATA while going NVME would require my friend to either adjust her budget, or take shortcomings in other areas) and a 1TB hard drive (~50€) (- 120mm exhaust fan) Around 60€ are taken up by a card reader, wifi 5Ghz card and a dvd reader/writer. This plan seems to go pretty well with the given budget. But I'd like to know if the parts I picked fit together, as this would be my first build. Also I'm trying to pick parts with the highest performance possible, while being reasonably priced and reliable. For example did I think about going for a Radeon Graphics Card, given that they are pretty cheap for their performance, despite being less efficient, but from experience I am pretty happy being on Nvidias side, as I have one of their budget GPUs in my own system If you have any idea how to safe money, without buying used products or not impacting the performance as much, please let me know. Hello Guys, i'm in charge of searching for a new laptop for my mum and until now I haven't found anything that suits perfectly. To make it short: -The laptop never leaves the living room so no weight limitation (a charger is also always near) -Most usecases are; light excel work, e-mail and web surfing/streaming My suggestion would be something like this: Display: 17" FHD or better Processor: i3 or i5 (equal amd is fine) Storage: SSD only with about 500gb (4 year old laptop has used about 320gb) Dedicated graphic card is not necessary Price up to 700€ = 860$ All the laptops i found started at 1000€ so I hope for a few suggestions from you Thanks in advance Felix

This is my first post on LTT so pls don't hate when I'm doing something wrong So I recently decided to look into a ~500€ Gaming PC and up with a machine about 700€ but yeah^^ I've got all my parts so far and just wanted someone to look over them and tell me if it is a good idea. Amd ryzen 3 1300x Gigabyte GeForce GT N1060WF2OC 3GD 1060 Graphics Card [3gb] Asrock 90 MXB520 A0UAYZ Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 2666MHz Seasonic G-Series Focus Gold 550W 80Plus Top Seagate Barracuda 3,5" Festplatte 2TB SATA III ST23000DM001, 7200RPM Cooler Master Elite 130 I have 2 M2 SSD's @128gb at home, one of them should contain Windows, so I don't worry about that right now. Both will be installed on the motherboard, so I got 2x 128 SSD and 1x 2TB HDD Already own Peripherals so that won't hinder me either. Planning on OC the Ryzen but not sure if I'll do that right away since I got no experience, might consider a new cooler then as well. Thank you for your feedback, appreciate it! Best regards Dennis

Hey guys I've finally got my dad into buying me a new PC. Im currently playing on a Sony Vaio -runninghotashell- Notebook. He told me to stay below of the mark of 700 Euros. I want to build a ITX rig so i can place it on my desk, without having as much space used as a normal ATX PC would need. I already got a 24" Full HD Display, aswell as Mouse and a external Blueray-reader. So only a keyboard is needed as external Hardware. Already got Harddrives (2TB and 500GB) running @7200 rpm working in my Notebook. So i stick with these. (I know i need a new PSU, couldnt find one for this price range) What would get me better Performance at the same price range? Is it going to run too hot to play like many 10+ sessions on this pc? But there's a problem: few days ago I talked with my dad, he said that he will add some money to the build (I currently have 590€, so he would add the 100€) AND yesterday he just decided to not to do that. I will try to talk to him, maybe he will think about it. Basically, we argued about a case (dad said "well the spec-01 has the I/O on an angle, so if you plug it in and put something on top it will be okay", I say "umm, n600 has the I/O vertically. Is that bad?", no response. Then he said "and the spec-01 has the top vents", I replied "n600 has it too. all cases have it nowadays!". And then he got mad.) and later about motherboard warranty (dad "I found that motherboard for just 1€ more expensive at varle.lt, and there's a warranty", I said "umm, so at skytech.lt there's no warranty? What's the difference if I'm buying everything from skytech.lt anyway? (varle.lt has free shipping to the store, and so does skytech.lt, but there's a varle.lt shop in my town). And then he got really mad, said "OKAY THEN I'M NOT HELPING YOU IF YOU'RE TALKING LIKE THIS TO ME"). Sorry that this post is a bit off topic, had to explain the story. What do I have to do with the build to make it affordable for me? I get 30€/month (allowance from mom), I already got my money for this month. Should I wait the 4 months until I have enough money? Should I beg my dad to add the money to my build? Help, I need somebody, help, not just anybody... Thanks in advance, Jonas.
