Hello LTT forums, one time system builder here looking for your opinions on if/how I should upgrade my gaming rig. What I want to know from you fine people is will I see any issues with my current set up and only a graphics card update or is a larger revamp advisable? I believe my ATI Radeon 6970 to be the current bottleneck in my system. Monitors Currently it's a 1080p 60hz monitor with potential to go up to a higher resolution or refresh rate. 4. Peripherals OS upgrade perhaps? 5. Why are you upgrading? Some new games are not running at satisfactory refresh rates and I have the disposable income for an upgrade right now

There was no real reason for me to do it, but despite this, I decided to buy a PowerColor Radeon HD 6950. Why? Because it was $23. That's right. A stupendously awesome deal. He was also selling a GTX 660Ti for like $55. That didn't make much sense, as this card is better than that, barring the ShadowPlay support. Nonetheless, I now have four graphics cards better than my mum's GTX 750 1GB. My 860M 2GB, My 6950, my R9 390, and my GTX 1080. I'll post on Reddit, too. I just wanted to boast.

I looked down at my computer the other night and noticed just how dusty and abused it was. Seeing as it is my baby it needed some TLC. So I decided to take everything apart, clean it and rebuild it! I've enjoyed seeing some of the build logs here so I thought why not give it a try. I've had a Sapphire 6970 for a couple of years now, and I want to upgrade. I can only fit one GPU in my rig right now because the bottom radiator is too big for an SLI/Crossfire upgrade. So should I get a 660 and overclock it, or would the upgrade be pointless?

Hi, I just bought a used HIS 6970v1.1 reference card over eBay recently and I want to set up triple monitors in eyefinity. All three monitors have 1280x1024 resolution, 60-70 hz and only have a blue VGA and white DVI connectors at the back. Here is the back of the HIS 6970. I am thinking of using the two DVI and the HDMI. Can a simple HDMI to DVI cable solve this problem? Or do I need to use at least one mini Display port?

Hi, I have a PC and want to use 4 monitors, I have a 6970 DCUII and as it says in asus website it supports 6 monitors, but it doesn't allow me to use more than 3 monitors, I have 3 samsung 24' full HD monitors(through HDMI using dvi-hdmi cables, and 2 of them are using active displayport do DVI adapters) and 1 42" LG TV(using VGA Cable but already have tried HDMI), I am using the latest AMD drivers, but I already tried installing the drivers from Asus website. The rest of my specs are Crosshair V formula, 8150FX 16gb of memory a 500GB HDD, etc.. If anyone have any idea what can be done

Hi all, I currently have and running Radeon 6970 Crossfire, but I wanna "upgrade" and thinking of buying a GTX 780, the SC version. ( http://amzn.to/13RUAtL ) Question is, will I get any performance boost from "upgrading" my Pc build to a GTX 780 SC (EVGA) ? Right now I have a standard factory Clock on both 6970's, and the standard retail coolers on them. I also wanna get rid of the fizzle and bad support some games have for Crossfire, and just run a Single GPU instead. (which should atleast perform as good as my 6970's or better) I don't wanna buy a 780 Ti either, because I Think it's too expensive. (and overkill too, I Heard?) I play and intend to play new games such as Crysis 3, Battlefield 4, Metro: Last Light, Skyrim, CS: GO, etc. (some Dota 2 but I know this isn't so much GPU efficient game) If I sell my current cards, and buy a new GTX 780, which will include 3 games; SplinterCell, Batman and Assassin Creeds I Think it was, I would only have to pay $200 for it. ( (Money from my old cards + The games value + GTX 780 value would be $200) So my question is, 1. Will a GTX 780 ACX perform better performance wise in gaming and such and have better compatibility (as it's a single GPU) then 2x 6970s? (like higher FPS in games and runs "smoother" in game) 2. Is it Worth the $200 to call this a upgrade? Or even yet, 3. Is GTX 780 Ti really overkill if you only wanna play modern games on Ultra settings? (the GTX 780 Ti would be 200$ + extra 150$) and the 780 Ti would be Gigabyte (only sold cheap here) and the standard factory cooler (not OC) While the GTX 780 EVGA is SC with the ACX cooler. Extra question: If a GTX 780 works better (by far), how will a GTX 770 (single) stand vs my 2 6970's? I can basicly get away with a GTX 770 for free, if I sell my graphic cards, plus I get the games there too... I just got my new desktop and I put a 6970 in there. I don't really enjoy gaming as much as I used to though so I was wondering if I could try turning my card into a workstation one. I do some rendering and I'm working on a game engine. I heard it was possible with a 680 and some older cards so I just thought I'd ask, thank you for your time.

maybe you guys can help me out, so in the hardline beta and even bf4 my gpu usage is never maxed, it usually hovers around like 40-50 percent if not less. sometimes spiking to almost 70%. my cpu usage on my 6 cores is never more than 40 % on any core. my ssd is not being maxed and my ram is not maxed either. yet I only get around 35-50 fps. ive messed with the settings and such but nothing seems to change. My question is, if my gpu/cpu/ram/ssd are not maxed why is my performance low? cpu is a phenom 2 x6 1055t thuban 1.575 volt at 2.8ghz boost to 3.1 gpu is a amd hd HIS 6970 ram is 8 gigs of 1333 ssd is the samsung 840 happens in other games too but not very many. off the top of my head.... warframe if anyone can help or point me in the right direction I would appreciate it. I fully understand if its my older hardware just not being optimized or what not but if you know or have dealt with this before I would very much appreciate any constructive feedback

Hay everyone I got home from work yesterday to dicover my partner's computer wont display even dos on start up, the computer in question is a 1156 and its got a 6970. when it is turned on the blower on the GPU spins up and then idle down and then repeats. since the motherboard doesnt have any display ports i cannot bypass the GPU. I'm abit stumped with this one and any help would be great. cheers

Could you please help me? His computer - CPU: AMD FX 6100 GPU: 2x 6970 Crossfired (MSI Computer Corporation R6970-2PM2D2GD5 Radeon HD 6970 2GB 256-bit GDDR5) MB: ASUS M5A97 Ram: 8gb Will this rig be able to power 4x LG 26" 1080p monitors at 60fps in eyefinity? He mainly plays flight sims. He has 3 monitors at the moment and wants a 4th and was wondering if it would work with his current setup, because if not he wont bother. How fast is a 6970 2GB for $200 at a 1440x900 and 1080P gaming? is their any better cards out now for $200-$250 that are faster and OC as well?
