So its set at 3440x1440 but no matter what image I use as my background it's coming up blurry. I've tried using image from reddit, as well as resizing the image with imageresizer.com (to 3440x1440) but no matter what I do its coming up super blurry and distorted. I am genuinely disappointed in how little progression has been made in UltraWide Display Tech in the past few years. More than 5 years ago, I bought my current Asus ROG 34" 3440x1440p 100Hz monitor for $699.99. Now days it seems the same money barely gets you the same features plus maybe HDR and an upgrade to 144 or 165Hz and honestly Im not sure if I even want to do it. Sure, my new Radeon RX 7900-XTX is easily blowing right by 100 FPS even at Ultra settings, usually delivering 130-140 FPS, but people forget that what your eyes see versus how the game responds are two completely separate things. Running 120+ FPS on a 100Hz monitor is slightly beneficial as the game can feel ever so slightly better and your actions have less input lag. And 100Hz is more than enough for your eyes anyways. On top of this - the ROG display is incredibly capable - even with games that run at 200 FPS and beyond, I see no screen tearing of any kind. This Asus ROG display is already an IPS 1ms response panel, the only downsides are that Im blowing by the maximum refresh rate with ease (and yes the display is already OC-ed, stock out of the box its a 90 Hz display), and this is a G-Sync only monitor so I can no longer use variable refresh rate tech. But I can enable V-Sync in games to limit FPS anyways and your eyes don't really need more than what I already have. I usually just enable a custom FPS lock of 120 and just enjoy a smooth experience at completely maxed-out Ultra-Everything Settings hardly ever seeing the FPS drop below that 120 limit. But I kinda want to upgrade just to better utilize the power of my new GPU and maybe for AMD FreeSync and possibly HDR compatibility and thats about it. As far as I can see, there are only two options currently available that fit the bill for a similar price - The LG UltraGear 34" 3440x1440 144Hz (160Hz OC) "AMD FreeSync 2.0" Nano-IPS 400 Nit Curved IPS Gaming Monitor - HDR NOT officially supported - $699.99 - BenQ EX3415R - 34" 3440x1440p 144Hz (MPRT) "AMD FreeSync Premium" HDR-400 Certified, Curved IPS Gaming Monitor - $799.99 Wow, so 5 years later and almost no progress for the price you pay. So should I just wait another 5 years and maybe eventually a decent option will show up for a decent price, or just go ahead and save for one of these options and just deal with the poor value? Of course I could sell the current monitor to make up for some of the price difference but I won't realistically get more than $250-$300 for it at best. I was genuinely expecting to find 34" IPS Panels at 3440x1400p 144Hz with HDR for under $500 considering its 5 years later and 16:9 1440p displays have already moved beyond 240Hz and you can get a 240Hz IPS 2560x1440p panel for like $300. By the way, I have no interest in 4K - and before you ask - its because yes, I am aware that there is basically ZERO improvement to the human eye going from 1440p to 4K unless your eyes are less than 18 inches from the screen on a standard-sized monitor under 50". Plus I enjoy UltraWide gaming and 4K UltraWide (5120x2160p) will probably be too much for the XTX if I want High refresh rate (which I do, I prefer at least 90 FPS and am completely happy at 120 FPS).

Hello! So, let me explain. I received (FINALLY) my msi rtx 3080 gaming x trio 2 days ago, im studying at my university so i couldnt do every test i wanted to. But, the thing is that previously i had an ASUS 24" 1080p 180hz display, i know a 3080 was pretty overkilled for that so i switched to a 34" ultrawide 3440x1440p 144hz, because i think that resolution and 4k are the best to get all the power the 3080 can deliver. I run Destiny 2, everything on high (not ultra) i was topping at 144fps due to my vsync configuration, so pretty nice there. In The Witcher 3 im getting also 144fps, dropping into 120s and 130s everything on high (no hairworks), so I THINK that performance is normal at 3440x1440 aswell. The problem comes in COD Warzone, i was getting like 80-90 fps everything on high, so i felt a bit bad. I turned down nearly everything, so the game was running at a mixture of low-medium-high graphics (no Raytracing enabled) and even there my fps stayed at an average of 110-120... according to some videos and reviews fps in warzone with the 3080 at that resolution should stay at its 140s everything on high, so dont know whats happening. My CPU can't be the bottleneck, is a i7 9700k, and at 3440p cant do that much. One point i took in count was that im using my GPU with a phanteks vertical mount, so its not directly connected to de PCIe express port, can that be the problem or is it something else?

Hey Guys just wondering i really only play apex and rocket league i am thinking about getting a 34 inch ultrawide and i have ae 3050 will i be able to hit 144 in rocket league and at least 60 in apex im just not sure been looking for a few hours and thought maybe you guys could help i do plan on upgrading gpu in a few months on black friday to hitt 144 in apex at that res but wanna still be able to play

Hey, I am in the market for a new monitor and have decided to enter the realm of ultrawide displays. I am looking for a display that has G-sync and isn't a TN panel. The monitor I've been considering is the acer x34. My understanding is that this is the top gaming display in this area, but I am curious on whether the monitor warrants the price or not, seeing as it's very expensive. Is there a 1080p equivalent to the x34? Does 1080p on these displays deliver a "gross" experience due to the lower PPI? Also I am currently using a GTX 1060 6GB, which is a fine card in and of itself, but I am wondering if it is enough to give a good experience on a ultrawide resolution or not. (potentially considering buying a 1080ti when it launches). I appreciate all kinds of help. Curious on your experiences with ultrawide displays as well

Hi guys Im going to be building a computer around Christmas time and I am deciding on a monitor. I've narrowed it down to the PG348Q by Asus or the X34P by Acer. Im going to be playing games like Forza Horizon 3 & 4, Motorsport 7, CSGO, and browsing the internet. Which one should I get and why? Where I live the X34P ($1499AUD) is $200AUD more than the PG348Q ($1299AUD) and the Alienware AW3418DW is out of the ring because it costs over $2000 and doesn't have FRC. Im looking for great image quality and contrast (for playing Horizon 4) and I have heard that the new panels that is in the X34P has worse contrast and colours vs the old ones that are found in the PG348Q and the original X34. Im also looking for good warranty which Asus does (apparently Acer's warranty is sh!t and 3-5 dead/stuck pixels is a cosmetic thing and they won't do anything about it.) Is the colour and contrast difference noticeable? Would it be worth $200AUD more for 20Hz? Thanks

I have some questions about the new, in January released, 21:9 34 Inch S34E790C monitor from Samsung and some generals. First of all, some information: I have a GTX 980, atm I own a 24 Inch BenQ TN (144Hz & 1ms) panel and I want to buy me a new 21:9 monitor which I will use mostly for gaming. I play every type of game, the most time I play Shooters like Battlefield and RPGs. Money is not a problem. Questions: 1. What are the Pros & Cons of a VA Panel? (Colours/No IPS Glow/etc.) 2. Is the 21:9 aspect ratio good for gaming? 3. Are 60Hz really that bad? (Better Graphics or smoother Gameplay?) 4. Is One GTX 980 enough to handle the 3440x1440p? 5. Which games will be great on such a resolution? (Maybe Witcher 3?) 6. Are there better monitors out there with an ultrawide display? Thank you!

I'm planning on getting either a single ultrawide 3440x1440p monitor or an ROG Swift with a 1080p monitor, but I'm stuck in between, right now. The idea of both of the options is increased productivity, but I'll be gaming quite a bit, too. I want the ability to have multiple windows and/or applications open at once and seamlessly transition between the two. The hardware to drive the monitors are powerful enough, no worries in that department. Advice?
