If I were to buy one of these and power isn’t an issue which should I get? And are there any significant differences?

Is the r9 270 worth it buying in 2018 for around 100usd or 78gbp? Can it beat the gtx 660 (which is was previously deciding to but)? How well does it do with titles like fortnite and cod bo4? How long will it last me? The model im buying is the gigabyte 2gb oc version

Hey LTT forums. For about two weeks now I have been having a VERY severe problem with my graphics card that has made playing games completely impossible. Hopefully I don't bore you with the story but imma try getting as much info as possible: Day 1 - Casually playing Overwatch, get into a game and BAM! Screen goes black and PC becomes unresponsive. Thought this was just an Overwatch crash and didn't think anything of it, but then I noticed that my DVI connected monitor had lost connection (HDMI is still working fine). So I held down the power button, rebooted my PC and actually get back to my desktop! I thought all was well but POW! Screen goes black for the second time. Long story short the next time I turned on my PC it got to the Windows 10 logo then went completely black. No login menu, nothing... Day 3 - Decided enough was enough and installed a fresh copy of Windows 7. After installing all the drivers for other hardware components I moved onto updating my AMD drivers. All was well, drivers installed without a hitch and even got to tell me to restart. But then, out of nowhere... RKO! PC gets to Windows 7 logo and black screens. Day 12 - Today. Been mostly watching TV when I'm off school and praying to mah lawd and savior Jesus Christ that the problem resolves itself but NO MORE! I WILL FIX THIS PROBLEM IF ITS THE LAST THING I DO! If ANY more information is needed just post in comments and I will use my limited tech knowledge to provide logs'n'stuff. Its either this gets fixed or I get myself a Nvidia 1060 - Would you consider that an upgrade or downgrade, or just the same ish... Thanks for any future help! PS: I'm not a christian, I just used Jesus for comedic effect after typing out that long paragraph. Please don't hate me

I'm having a bit of a problem with my monitors. I have my main monitor that runs at 1080p then I have another cheapo monitor that only runs at 900p. I had it working somehow a little bit ago I restarted my computer and voila it worked. Started messing around with the eyefinity settings and bam it doesn't work anymore, I tried resetting the new crimson settings and restarting still it doens't work just says No Input Signal. My second monitor only has a vga port so I had to buy a vga to dvi-I adaptor and my main monitor is on the dvi-d port on my graphics card. How the heck can I get this second monitor working I've never had more then 1 before.

Hey guys! I planned to save up for the R9 270, but at the same time I see so many good things about the GTX 960. So should I continue to plan for the R9 270? Or should I pay the extra $30 and get the 960? I've heard that less people have display issues with the GTX 960, but the R9 270 has such a good price point for what it is? Help pls!

I am considering two graphics card options for the near future. I am going to shortly get my ASUS R9 270 2 GB back from an RMA, and I am wondering if I should add another for crossfire, or if I should sell it once I get it back and use some spare money I have lying around to get an R9 290. The main concern I have for the R9 270 crossfire is the VRAM issue. With the advent of GTA V's PC release, the increasing VRAM requirements for PC games are becoming more apparent, especially considering the amount of VRAM the current consoles have available. Even at 1080p, I'm not sure for how long 2 GB will be a viable option. Also, the amount of heat generated may be a problem. I don't particularly want to sacrifice the lovely quiet I now experience with my system at idle and the slight noise at load. I know it'd still be mostly quiet when idle, but adding 4 more fans will increase the noise slightly, even at low RPMs. Another little worry I have about fan curves is the one I have for my CPU fan. I did a stress test with Prime95 (with manual voltage, of course) and the temperatures skyrocketed to 100 C instantaneously before the fan could spin up, before stabilizing at a reasonable 70 C for all cores. It gave me a start, and while I don't experience similar things in real-world loads, it...scares me a bit. D: For these reasons, under most circumstances, choosing the R9 290 is an obvious choice. However, I am not particularly inclined to try to sell an R9 270 again, as it failed, a couple weeks ago, to sell on LTT's classified section. It's just another annoyance to deal with. I'd probably have a higher chance on eBay, but still. So, basically, should I deal with an annoyance in order to avoid a potential VRAM or heat issue or not? Please don't bring power consumption or crossfire scaling/support issues into the discussion, as, for the former, I am fairly confident a Corsair CX600 can power either setup, at least according to a review between the two options on this website. (I should have enough connectors too since my current R9 270 only uses one 6-pin.) The review also shows performance values that are very close. As for the scaling or support problems some moan about, it seems to me that it is generally considered a non-issue for most games, and the ones that do have problems usually don't need crossfire/SLI in the first place.

I got my R9 270 back from an ASUS RMA (turns out it was drivers) and I have been slightly concerned for my card. Its temperatures seem to be a lot lower than they usually are. They get to the high 50s rather than to around 67-70. I became especially concerned when I did a stress test and noticed a slight throttling in core clock and GPU usage, as shown by the image below (I set the hardware polling period to 100 ms.). As far as I'm aware, this has been the case since I got the card back, but I haven't experienced any issues while playing games, but I'm still worried for my baby. D: I don't know what's going on, and would like an explanation.

Alright so I decided to overclock my GPU (Sapphire r9 270x 2gb OC) and this is the most stable I've gotten without touching the voltage at all Stock Core: 1070 MHz Memory: 1400 MHz OC Core: 1200 MHz Memory: 1500 MHz The stock I got 27.2 FPS and 686 score. OC I got 30.3 FPS 765 score My Temps have been around 65 Degrees. Not going to 70 at all. These results were on Heaven btw. It was doing fine when higher but sometimes it would randomly give me a black screen during the benchmark and would give me less results. Does anyone know the safest voltage I could go for with this particular card? And does touching the memory even do anything? Thanks.

Hello. I am building a PC for someone and I wanted to know what would be the better choice: An i5 4460 with an R7 240 ( which he already has laying around so he will not have to pay for it ) or an i3 4150 with an R7 250X. He is a programmer and works mostly with Visual Studio but sometimes uses other IDEs. He is now looking into gaming but nothing too demanding ( for example PES 2015 ).

Hello community! I'm starting to save up for a $150 - $170 graphics card and the best options I found were the R9 270 and the R9 270X. Should I go with the R9 270 or save up the extra $20 and get the R9 270X? Also I'm planning to get the MSI version of these cards, and I also would like to know which one is better in terms of overclocking. I would appreciate feedback from this awesome community!

http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/p/gFsjMp I'm mainly concerned about if the power supply is of good quality and if the wattage will be enough.

So, I am going to get a 270 soon, and I was wondering what the best brand would be. I don't care about looks. The important things are cooling and... cooling. I don't care about sound levels too much. Also, no more than $160, please. So what would you recommend? Thanks!

Hey guys. How can i check if my CPU is bottlenecking my system? I have i5 2320 so i though that its enough for gaming but something was not right when i saw benchmarks for AC:U. r9 270 should drive the game fine. I know how badly optimized it is but i am barely getting 30fps on 720p on lowest possible settings. I found out that i should download Open Hardware Monitor and check it. So these are my results. The one with 100% load if AC:U and the other one is Far Cry 4. I think i already know the answer but i am praying to GabeN and everything else that it's not true....

Im getting a Radeon R9 270/270X. I cant make my mind up on which non-reference card to choose from. Here is the list that i can choose from. (http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/parts/video-card/#c=154,147&sort=a7) I want to spend the least amount of money possible. I don't care that much about the sound (just as long as it doesn't sound like a jet engine). All i really care is the overclocking potential. What (in your own opinions) do you recommend?

Hi, I would like to ask this question to those people who have gone past this terrible choosing of what to and what not to buy.. Considerations Im from Philippines, and afaik, prices here are 5-10% higher than in US. I can't buy from amazon or any same way. Shipping costs will get back on me plus the chance of RMA. I only have a converted budget of about USD460 Now for the options 280X Toxic - $210 280X Powercolor - $210 270X Toxic - $186 285 Turbo Duo - $210 970 Zotac Basic - $360 The scenario would be -- I was planning on buying a 280X because of the hype on 970. People sell their 280X to buy the new card. So by this time, I am seeing a lot of 280X's on lower prices. In conjuction to that, I want to take the advantage of completely building a new rig on intel platform. If I choose the used 280X's, my budget would definitely meet them. The question is, should I still go to the better 970 plus current setup? Or get the power hungry 280X plus intel parts/new case? My current rig is A10-5800k, 55m mobo, 8gb ram, vs450 and a not so beautiful raidmax case. BTW, I am getting my XFX 750w Black edition on tuesday. So I'm good in terms of PSU.

So, I've got this build I made on a budget a year and a half ago, so, I decided to get a newer GPU. From what I know, the R9 270 is roughly equivalent to the HD 7870 Ghz and when overclocked, can be better. Since I was offered to swap them out by one of my family members since they are in a dire need of a new GPU, I was wondering if it's worth to get a R9 270 and give them the HD 7850 or just to save money and buy them something less expensive? I'd get the card for quite a bit less than the original price tag. In Serbia, it'd normally be around 216$, but there is a deal where I can snatch if for around 175$. They occasionally game (Skyrim, Far Cry and the likes) on a 1680x1050 (He currently has a 6670 which is barely keeping up on such a screen.) Also, the current build I have is an i3-3220 8GB Kingston HyperX Blue 1600 Mhz CL9 Asus P8B75-m LX Plus 600W LC Power

So I'm in the market and I've been looking for either a Radeon R9 270 or 270x. I want a good non-reference card which is around $200CAN. I want the best 'bang for your buck' 270 or 270x. Thanks

I have purchased 2 R9 270's for a fairly decent price (75 each, shipped), and now I am working on the rest of my build. I've been working on the motherboard recently, and am seriously confused about PCI 3.0 vs 20, along with x16, etc. A fair amount of people say that crossfiring on a PCI 3.0 and then PCI 2.0 will bottleneck, but other aren't. I could really use some help here, and thanks. ~Dia

So recently I've got an MSI Radeon R9 270 Gaming Video Card and I want to overclock it so it can run up to the same speeds as a 270x and gain just as much performance. I know how to overclock and everything (MSI Afterburner) but I just need someone to help me with getting safe speeds to set my graphics card at. Hopefully someone can just post safe speeds below (Memory clock. GPU/Core Clock, Shader Clock etc.) Thank you for helping  MSI Radeon R9 270 Stock Speeds: Core Clock: 900MHz Boost Clock: 975MHz Memory Clock: 5600MHz Link to card (Newegg.ca): http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127769
