Hello there. I have 2060 gigabyte super and currently experiencing thermal throlling. I saw a couple of gpu mods on youtube modding their heatsinks by coppermods, using an old and defective gpu and stick it on their gpus. I am inspired by this and I wanted to mod my gpu as well. What gpu do you think is almost compatible with my card? I am desperate to cool this gpu and tried to use expensive thermal pads and undelvolted it already but no improvments. Any help is really appreciated!

Considering to upgrade from my 2060 Super ROG. Mostly running games, anything else is lower priority. Country is Norway. I tried to flash in a custom vBIOS but some things was weird so I flashed original vBIOS back. Got me some noise maybe from VRM I didn't have before, but also some noise from one of the fans. Sometimes it sounds like it's snoring lol. I've always been kinda dissapointed with the performance of this card and now I got a 165Hz Freesync monitor so I would like a bit more oomph inside the case. Sometimes Windows have had it's Explorer shell gone weird forcing me to press the reset button but I fixed that by turning off power saving on PCIe. Still I suspect it is the graphics card. With this situation in regards to availability and price of cards, It's gonna cost a pretty penny. I'm not sure if it's a relatively worthwhile upgrade though. I can get a XFX Qick 6700 XT for around a 1000€. XFX Radeon RX 6700 XT Speedster QICK 319 Would something like this be a decent upgrade for my rig? Also would it be fine to run in gen 3 x8 or should I first upgrade this cheapo B450 mobo? Ryzen 5 3600x stock. 32 GB ran at 3000 MT/s CL16 (dont seem to be able to get it stable at rated 3200). B450-F Gaming with 2x M.2 so PCIe slot for GPU is currently running at gen 3 8x as mentioned. Corsair RM 650x. Thanks for reading.

I apologize in advance for the long post. First of all here are the specs of my build: MB: Gigabyte B450 Aorus Elite; CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600; GPU: MSI GeForce RTX 2060 Super Ventus GP OC, 8GB; RAM: G.Skill Ripjaws V DDR4 3200mhz CL16 (2x8GB); SSD: Intel 660P, 1TB, M.2 NVME; PSU: Corsair 550W 80 Plus Bronze CX550. This setup worked fined for many months with the graphics card installed in the x16 top PCIe slot, until a few months back, when I was installing a new CPU cooler and had to remove the GPU to make it easier to fit. When I installed the GPU back in the x16 slot, I forgot to plug in the GPU PSU cable before powering on the system. I quickly realised this, shut everything down, connected the cable and tried again, but was unnable to get a post. The VGA LED on the MB was also on when powering on, indicating a problem with the graphics card. After some panicked googling I tried reseting the CMOS, reinstalling the RAM and a bunch of other things that did nothing. After a while I placed the GPU in the bottom x4 slot and the system powered on and posted normally. Installing it again on the x16 slot still did not work. This, along with some forum posts saying that turning the system on without the PSU cable connected to the GPU could mess up the internal circuits of the board, made me think the problem was with the MB. To confirm the GPU was fine, I tested it with a friend's system and it worked fine in the x16 slot. I then sent the MB to Gigabyte to fix the problem, but according to them the board was working fine. They ran some standard tests and sent it back to me. I then sent it to them again claiming the issue was still present and they said once again that the board was fine, and even sent me a video of a graphics card installed in the x16 slot and the system powering on and posting. I have also tried updating the BIOS (including the GPU's) and even reinstalling Windows, with no success. The only thing I haven't tried is installing a different graphics card in the x16 slot myself, since I don't have access to one, but the video from Gigabyte proves it works with a different GPU. I have been using the pc with the GPU in the x4 slot, but the performance in some games is not the same... I don't know what else I can try to do to figure out what is wrong.

I’ve been struggling to figure out how to solve this issue. I have a RTX 2060 Super Founders Edition and while playing almost any game, it revs up to 100% fan usage for a few seconds and then back down. Happens every so often but I can seem to figure out how to fix it. I wouldn’t mind it ramping up if it was a bit more gradual. How do I troubleshoot this? Hi guys, I currently own a 2060 Super Zotac AMP Extreme however I was planning on changing my monitor from a 1080 to a 1440 ultra wide. I was thinking on getting the RTX 3070 Asus Strix. Do you think this would be a good change based on the performance of both graphics cards, or should I get a different one or even keep the one I have? I am planning on playing mostly games with RT to get the best out of it.

Need some suggestions!!! Should I pair R5 5600x with RTX 2060s or R5 3600 with RTX 3060ti? Which one going to be more future-proof for content creation and some gaming?

So i have a pretty janky rig, i5-4460 12Gb ddr3 1600mhz, Intel 4600 iGpu, an Asus H81M-Plus Mobo, I am looking for a new gpu that can live for a while, i have been looking a lot and i have narrowed my choices into 5 gpus: RTX 2060 RTX 2060S RTX 2070 RTX 2070S RX 5700XT I have heard some people say 2060 is not ideal, so i might not go for it. Also, the rx 5700xt has 2 version, either the asus strix, or gibabyte. The gigabyte is cheaper by $26 I am not sure what to go for, the 2070 super might not be a good price for me. Way too much in my country. About $761. So thats not in my plans. i just want someone to list what gpu i should look at in order, if i don't like it, i will go onto the next one. E.g: Rtx 2070 then 5700xt (asus or gigabyte), etc

I recently decided to upgrade my gtx 970 to something better. Currently i'm split between the Gainward RTX 2070 (450 USD) or the Gigabyte RTX 2060 super (480 USD) . The Gigabyte 2060S is the cheapest one you can get in my country and so is the Gainward RTX 2070. The Gainward RTX 2070 is cheaper than the 2060S but i'm afraid i'll be too loud or cheaply built compared to the Gigabyte 2060S. Noise isn't a huge issue for me but of course the queiter the Better. Sorry for any spelling errors. English isn't my 1st language:)

So I purchased the ASUS R9 390 8GB 3 years ago. It was great for the first year, and then 1 of the fans went out (out of 3). Temps sort of went up, but not a lot, so I didn't see a reason to buy a whole replacement fan set. About 3 months later, the 2nd fan went out. At that time, I decided it was time to upgrade things, so I ended up buying the Ryzen 5 2600 (from my old AMD 8560), and I bought an MSI variant of the same card (2 fans) on ebay from a guy who was selling one for $100. Yeah it was used, but he was selling it because he bought an upgrade and just didn't need it anymore, so $100 for another R9 390 wasn't bad. I went a head and bought a new one because the "replacement" fan set of 3 fans was being sold for $80, so for another $20 I had a new card, and a backup (in case I needed it). I really liked the R9 390; does great in games, but now I'm starting to see lower and lower FPS averages when I buy new titles. (However, for SOME reason, this R9 390 is still on amazon for sell for roughly $400 -- no idea why). So I ran the new MSI R9 390 + Ryzen 5 for another year, and recently I did tests to see where my R9 390 sat in regards to performance and matched against the new stuff. And over the course of 3 years, it has significantly decreased ( userbenchmark.com puts it at the 50th percentile). Now, I'm debating on the upgrade and I've been looking at the 2060 Super which will run me $430ish for an aftermarket MSI boosted). How is the 2060S as far as handling the latest titles. I haven't migrated into the 2k 4k gaming yet. But I want to ensure that any games I get in the next year or two, can handle 60FPS without a year passing and then thinking "Welp, have to upgrade again". My other major complaint of the R9 390 has ALWAYS been the temps. You can easily hit 85C on high settings, and a lot of users have complained of even 90C. It's just the nature of that card. I'm just a casual gamer (maybe 2-3 hours every day or two); but I want to be able to install Resident Evil 3 when I get time off work, play it on max settings, and maintain 60fps stable, as well as other games.

I am confused in which gpu to buy for my pc. I am getting rtx 2070 at same price of rx 5700xt. And 2060S around 50$ cheaper. I am also getting 2070S 100$ costlier then rtx 2070. Plz suggest me which one to buy.

(The reason i put it in this section because i dont think my GPU is the problem) So first i bought a AMD 5700 to replace my gtx 1060 put it in ran DDU got the drivers and all that restarted my PC tested 4 games only to see im getting less FPS then my 1060... So i proceeded to do a clean install off my whole PC. Ok now we are on a FRESH install off windows 10 do my drivers and all that play the same 4 games. Even worse FPS then before.. So i decided to return it and buy and RTX 2060 Super which i got early this morning plugged it in ran DDU got drivers and all that tested the same 4 games same FPS as the 1060 and the 5700 no improvement at all. I have reason to believe its not the GPUs messing up. I have a screenshot of the stats while playing a game. If theres an fix please inform me.Thanks in advance

Hey. So now in my region, at the same price, we have available both Gigabyte RTX 2070 Windforce 2X and Gigabyte RTX 2060 SUPER GAMING OC X3 - about 450 euro. I use it mostly for Premiere Pro and I am interested in performance but also for it to be silent, with lower temps = more durability. Is there anyone who tested one of the two cards, or both? Thanks

Hi, I'm new to these forums and to building PCs. I watch LinusTechTips and other channels for quite a while now, and now I'm going to do my first build. But I ran into a problem recently... I can't quite decided whether to get the RTX 2060S or 2070S. The 60 would cost me around 400€, and the 70 around 500€, and I'm thinking, is the 2070 really worth another 100 for what I'll be getting? I don't know, maybe I could use that money for a better keyboard or save it to buy a 144Hz monitor. I have a good 650W PSU so that wouldn't be a problem nor would be the processor. Thanks for any responses

Building a pc for use on a 1080p 144hz monitor with a Ryzen 3600. Is an EVGA 2070 Super overkill if i want RTX and I plan on playing Red Dead 2, Assassins Creed odyssey, Rainbow six siege, and Sekiro? Would I notice the difference switching to the cheaper EVGA 2060 Super

Hey, so I know the 3080 drops in about a week from now, and everyone is wanting to buy anything that has a number 3 in it, but I am wondering if I should buy either of these graphics cards right now and save myself the disappointment later. The two cards are a 2070 and a 2060 super, both from gigabyte and both are about 650 aud. https://www.austin.net.au/gigabyte-gv-n2070wf2-8gd-graphics-card-geforce-rtx-2070-8-gb-gddr6.html (2070 card) https://www.austin.net.au/gigabyte-geforce-rtx-2060-super-windforce-oc-8g.html (2060s card) I'm only going to be gaming at 1080p with an r5 3600, but I will be using ray tracing for games like cyberpunk and minecraft if i can. Which one should i buy? Or should I just hold out for the 3070 even though its far more pricey and kind of overdoing it? P.S. I dont know if this should go in building or graphics cards so i posted it here bc its more of a purchase question

Hi, I built a gaming pc and now I am confused which GPU to go with, I game in 1080P high refresh rate 144hz. I want to game in 1440p 144hz, as my display is 1080p I wanna game in 1440p DSR, is it possible with the Radeon card 5700XT? Let me know. Now, I have a few problems. My budget is around $500 so I can afford all three GPUS. I am mainly confused because of my CPU which is a Ryzen 1600, its a good cpu but I'm well aware it will bottleneck with all of those 3 GPUS, mostly the 2070S and 5700XT due to their extra power Keep in mind I will overclock my cpu if necessary to 3.9ghz So is going with the 2060S a better choice with my CPU so I get more performance and less bottleneck due to its lesser power or should I go with 2070S and 5700XT and ignore the slight bottleneck. Im aware that 2070S has better aftermarket gpus and 5700XT doesnt. And I would also like to have ray tracing as a bonus, is it worth the extra 100 dollar over 5700XT? Please note, I want a descriptive answer so I can understand the possibilities, note *I will not upgrade my CPU or my display at the moment* Please help me answer all my questions. Specs: Ryzen 1600 AX370 Aorus Gaming K5 Trident Z RGB 16 ram WD 1 TB 650 Watt Antec PSU

Hi, i was going to buy a Oculus Rift S, but then I saw the RTX 2060S, and I'm thinking which one will be a better choice. I don't know if I should upgrade my pc or try a new experience in VR My PC Specs: i7 - 8700 GTX 1660 Ti 16GB 3200Mhz MSI Z390 Tomahawk 650W Power Supply
