Hi, I am daily driving a late 2016 Razer Blade 14 (GTX1060) but my ax adapter is starting to die (only works if the cable is bent a certain way). Problem is theses are no longer listed for purchase anywhere (appart from the AU razer store, but out of stock. And even if it was in stock being from Belgium I doubt I could have had it delivered any time soon) Does anyone have tried and/or could recommend a reliable third party unit ? thx in advance

Just wondering if I can run windows Server 2012 r2 or server 2016 on a pi. I want a domain controller that can run 24/7 but stay in my bedroom. Their are only 4 users that will be using it. It will only be taking up the entire role over night really when my rack server is offline. Is it possible?

Hi LTT Forum. I will soon be testing and deploying a small fleet of fully specced (minus the £1000 SSD upgrade[fuck you apple]) 2016 Macbook Pro's for use as hire machines with the AV firm i work for. It will be my job to thoroughly test these machines before deployment and to maintain them in the future. Basically i thought this posed a great opportunity to offer others a thread in which to ask very specific questions about them that require hands on experience, which, understandably is not something everyone can access, given the stupid price of these things. So I'll update soon when they arrive and i'm sure ill make a topic about them at some point but i will be open to any and all requests for testing on these machines for people thinking of buying one. Hi, I just got Windows Server 2016 Standard 64-bit from my school for free through some Microsoft service. ($800 Windows for Free!! YAY!) I was just wondering if I could use it for gaming as well, or will my performance be bottle-necked due to how Server works compared to Consumer Windows?

I have a copy of 2016 that is not being used at the moment and would like to make use of it but I am not sure if it's going to be worth the upgrade for this hardware for one and not sure if 2016 is a good upgrade path. We are a small office that use the Server for Active Directory (Domain logins), DHCP, DNS, File Shares, Printer Sharing, and IIS Just looking to see what peoples thoughts are on the situation. Hi there, im editing a video in powerdirector 15 for a school project that has to be ready tomorrow. The first day i started editing everything was fine, but the NeXT day everything was choppy and laggy and now im sitting here trying to find a solution. i think if i moved the files off my harddrive to my ssd its gonna be smooth, but how without losing all the progress? anything will help

Do you think it's worth it to invest in a 2016 model (like S7, 3T, Axon 7 etc) now that the prices are somewhat lower? Or should we expect big improvments in 2017 phones (reasonably priced ones not the S8)?

Im building a few new computers to mine with, any help would be greatly appreciated! 50 computers; i7-6950x any liquid watercooler that you guys would recommend TItan XP 12GB gddr5x Asrock Extreme 3 8GB DDR4 2400 space isnt important, just need to be able to install OS and mining software. Can anyone reccomend a good 64GB ssd?\ no disk drive, OS will be installed through USB NO OS NEEDED and any cheap stackable case that may or may not have a power supply combo. Thanks! -
I recently installed Windows server 2016 and set up a domain controller and DNS with it but I want to know what i can do to have any user logged in to the server save anything they download to the server instead of computer and if I can't do that, how do I set up automatic backups onto the server every night? Now i know i had already asked questions about the whether the Macbook pro 15inches 2016 model is worth the buy. But then after they launched and announced the price, I cannot afford it at all. My question now is that is the 13 inches MacBook pro worth buying even though it is soo costly and will i be able to use graphic intensive apps ? And when will apple reduce the price of their 2016 models of MacBook pro ? (I feel it will be next year but will it still be worth getting one) Because till then other windows manufacturers will be updated with the latest intel 8gen processor and updated graphics(maybe 1080) and it would still be cheaper than the apple Macbooks.

So I recently my dad helped me to purchase a HP Laptop, all was good till 2 days after purchasing it I received it and the hard drive made a grinding noise, functional (for now) but I knew this wasn't good, after many diagnostics and help from HP support, they finally decided it would need to be replaced, any way I still had school work that needed doing so I thought I'd hold onto the laptop for a bit longer, fast forward 6 days after receiving the laptop and the sound just stops working completely. Anyway long story short the laptop is no longer in manufacturing and I'm going to be refunded my full about of £395.98, The only problem now Is I can't find a decent laptop/2 in 1/etc that is similar to this AND doesn't cost more then £395 (I may be able to add on an extra bit of money £20-70 depending on how worth it, it is.) The Previous Laptops Specs: HP Pavilion 15-au034na (don't be surprised if you can't find it, once hp stop manufacturing something it literally disappears) Intel i3-6100U @ 2.30GHz 8Gb 1Tb HDD cost £390, got it for £370 with student discount What I need it for: Main things are Photoshop, Visual Studio and Microsoft Word, and whatever a student really needs. I like having a lot of space because I'm often unorganized and leave year old files just lying around (yey for being a digital hoarder). My dad would kill me if he caught me playing games on a laptop that was supposed to be for studying, and personally I ain't a fan of gaming on laptops, but if it ever happened that my main pc was down and I was bored or stressed having the option would be nice So That's the story and my problem, anyone know of any solutions? I can apply for a lot of student discounts as all of a sudden I seem to be the right age, time flys huh? I already have an account with myunidays.com so if anyone happens to know very good deals with them that would be cool. Oh two last notes, I'd prefer to move away from HP because although the laptop I had was really good, they're services were a bit meh, and the products felt very flimsy but that may just be me with my big hands, and please don't mention macbooks or apple products as much as I'd love to own one, because i've never owned anything other then my old Ipod touch, they are just way too expensive. (P.S I'm from UK )

My friend wants me to design him a gaming pc but he has a low budget of only $400 and I was wondering if anyone good give me any ideas for parts. He wants a case with a window, no os, optional cd drive, and the ability to play games at atleast 30 fps medium graphics along with being able to record gameplay using his pci capture card.

Hi, hopefully this counts as being a build-log, I mean I did put fans on a thing so it's at least ready for /r/techsupportmacgyver. If this is the wrong section I guess delete it or move it or something, you wont hurt my feelings or nothing. So, I managed to score a mid 2016 Razer Blade 14 (6GB 970m) in a Newegg Open Box sale for just over $1000, and considering similar machines are selling on ebay in worse condition for 1200-1400 I think I lucked out. Anyways, everyone knows these things have some cooling issues and fan noise issues, I haven't had much for cooling issues but I can't help wanting to add fans to everything. I already had this sick laptop desk mount, it's got some breathing holes so I figured why not add some fans? I found some USB powered fans off Amazon for cheap ( https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00IJ2J2K0/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 ) The quality is honestly way better than I expected, their not silent but running at only a max of 5v I never really hear them Here's how they look from the top. Couldn't seem to get my phone to focus correctly, and yes I did clean up the cables after this. You can see there is a decent gap for airflow underneath. I feel like it looks pretty clean like this. I didn't really take any baseline readings but after this I ran Heaven Benchmark for around 20mins while watching some twitch streams to put a good load on the system. CPU got to 65C, GPU got to 79C with +135 on the core and +300 on the memory. CPU was undervolted 0.165v. Fans still get extremely loud but I can't hear them too much with my window fan or air conditioner running anyway so I wasn't too bothered. Oh yeah, ambient temps were around ~70F (21C).

Hi, i have a fairly simple question with maybe a not so easy answer (atleast i can't figure it out). I have an excel document where i have collected data on different laptop models, CPU, GPU, RAM, weight, screen size, price etc. What i want to do is when i sort by a column, for example price or processor, i want a whole row to move together cause otherwise it would mess up the order of all the data.
