So I bought a pre-built pc around 2015. It was a Lenovo idea-pad tower Y series. I upgrades the GTX 970 to a 1070. That was pretty good running for those 5 years. Spent 1100$ on the tower and 450 at the time for the new graphics card. I got a job that pays better this year so I saved up some money to buy a a top line PC. Spent almost 2800$ on everything except my existing keyboard and mouse. I expect a VERY GOOD cooling system (I don't wan't to dive into water cooling as I'll be assembling this thing form hell). Have great audio as I will be playing (rn exclusively) Escape From Tarkov, a game known for it's directional and distance specific audio. The power supply should be adequate (note: I have no idea about electricity). Dust in my room is a concern... but cooling must come first. I do not plan nor do I intend to overclock, though I'm curious as to what Boost is. Basically, I know I over-qualify with these above builds for Escape From Tarkov. That is fine. But I need to know not only if each component is compatible and works with each part it connects or interacts with, I also need to know... lol, will it fit in the case? Hi, my name's Alex, I am a studying game design and development, and I would like to buy a PC to be used both as a workstation as well as for gaming. 1. Budget & Location My budget is 1500-2000 pounds (I am living in UK). - I am willing to go up with a few hundreds but I prefer not to, since it will delay the buying time. 2. Aim Since I am studying game design and development I will use this PC for softwares ranging from Maya, Zbrush, Substance Painter to Visual Studio, Unity and Unreal Engine. I would also like to be able to play some of the latest games at mid-high specs (not necessarily the highest - keep in mind I am a student so it's a very very high investment for me). 3. Monitors I already have a monitor (tv) which I'll use as a secondary screen (31inch, fullHD), but I want to buy a primary monitor for this build and I would like it to be a 2k monitor (since a 4k I think would be a bit over my budget). So in the beginning just 2 monitors but probably I'll upgrade to a 3rd one in the far future. 4. Peripherals I need to buy the primary monitor, keyboard and mouse (not necessarily, since I already have one I am currently using for the laptop I own). 5. Why are you upgrading? Momentarily I am working from home on a pretty low specs laptop and since I love to work from home instead of going to uni for every idea I want to implement I would love to have a good workstation. I'd like for some of you to give me the green light on this build or make some adjustments if needed. My vision for this build is the norm of 1080p 60+ FPS on high settings and possibly dabble in some 1440p. Finally have the funds to buy all of these parts now if build is good to go. ok lets get the nitty gritty out of the way i'm a gamer have been for the big part of my 17 living years. I currently have a laptop but the hard drive is stating to fail, and im sick of laptos in general mobility at the cost of performance and $$$, so i'm looking at getting a pc again i had one but it was stock nothing fancy, but i'm looking to make my own, i am pretty tech savvy and i'm hands on but i just don't have the knowledge on parts which is what brings me here, i am a student so i don't want to spend tons on a PC, but i want to future proof it as much as i can, any tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
