  2. Budget (including currency): 2500 € Country: Germany Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Gaming like Elden Ring and other Open World stuff, also for Osu! and Multi Media like Netflix. Monitor will be 4k 144hz Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Hey Guys, Looking for suggestions and improvements, maybe some other Parts that will spare me a buck or 2 so i actually hit my Budget? 3. Budget (including currency): Around 2000 € or less (can go a bit higher) Country: France Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Games like Deus Ex Mankind Divided, Open World (FFXV), programs like 3DEXPERIENCE Catia and SolidWorks. Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc). Hello, You can find the pc here: https://fr.pcpartpicker.com/list/8NP8F8 I am French and I need a little help with my first build, I am trying to find a way to save a few euros, if possible, by changing the CPU, the motherboard or both. While it may say 1332.11 € for the "Asus GeForce RTX 3060", I found it for 739,90 € on Amazon (https://www.amazon.fr/gp/product/B096658ZWP/ref=ox_sc_act_title_4?smid=AVYEOB55JKUJU&psc=1). By finding the components individually and adding them in Amazon, I got 1 820,96 €. I did think of using an AMD Ryzen 5 5600X and a TUF GAMING X570-PLUS (WI-FI), but there was a problem with the BIOS, and I wasn't knowledgeable on the subject, so I went with the Asus PRIME Z490-A and Intel Core i7-10700F. I also would like to know the difference between TUF GAMING X570-PLUS (WI-FI) and the TUF GAMING X570-PLUS. What does the wi-fi do? like the antenna, is it faster or is it its own wi-fi I don't exactly understand. Thank you in advance for the advice.
  4. 5. Hey I am building for the first time and already figured what important parts to buy. The majority of parts are already here but i am posting this to confirm or change my mind on the last few parts and if i will run into any issues while building or what to watch out for. PCPartPicker Part List Type Item Price CPU AMD Ryzen 9 5900X 3.7 GHz 12-Core Processor Purchased For $549.00 CPU Cooler NZXT Kraken X63 98.17 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler Purchased For $129.00 Motherboard Asus TUF GAMING X570-PLUS ATX AM4 Motherboard $211.00 Memory Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 32 GB (4 x 8 GB) DDR4-3600 CL18 Memory $191.00 Storage Crucial MX500 1 TB 2.5" Solid State Drive Purchased For $89.00 Storage Samsung 970 Evo Plus 1 TB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive Purchased For $149.00 Storage Seagate BarraCuda 4 TB 3.5" 5400RPM Internal Hard Drive Purchased For $0.00 Video Card Asus GeForce RTX 3080 10 GB TUF GAMING OC Video Card Purchased For $810.00 Case Phanteks Eclipse P400A Digital ATX Mid Tower Case $114.00 Power Supply Corsair RMx (2018) 850 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply $161.00 Prices include shipping, taxes, rebates, and discounts Total $2403.00 Generated by PCPartPicker 2020-12-01 05:48 EST-0500 Parts with "Purchased" are already here and bought for the given price (in CHF/Switzerland). The 4TB Barracuda (0$) will be the only part i take over from my old pre-built i7-6700/GTX980. Im mainly looking for confirmation/help regarding the last few parts and what to watch out for when installing in the case / if i missed something important. A few thoughts: - If price difference is not too big i can't see why i shouldn't go with X570 instead of B550 - Kraken was on sale, M.2 and SATA SSD's were seperately on sale aswell (970 EVO 2TB costs 300 CHF here) - There are only few 4x8GB 3600 Kits available so i just chose one of the cheaper ones - Do i need to buy additional gear for the installation? f.e is Thermal Grizzly needed or is there already paste coming with the CPU? Are ESD measures like an ESD bracelet recommended/needed? Thanks a lot for any help, if anything is unclear feel free to ask.
  6. I am considering building a computer for work. I've never built one before, and I'm excited to do it. I am looking for any help, advice, suggestions or anything. Since computers aren't exactly my forte, I am here seeking advice and suggestions! What I do: I am basically a project manager at this point. I am working to open a music venue, and I live out of excel documents. The current excel monster that I formatted uses 3 separate files to do all of my calculations. At full load, I have between 5 & 7 documents open, youtube streaming, and another internet window for research. To be fully productive, I will need to have 4 monitors (5 would actually be nice, but I can utilize my laptop for the fifth), and a system that will be able to keep up with my daily workload (I put in about 10 - 15 hours a day average). I am trying to keep this to the lowest amount possible, but I also want to be able to upgrade the system later on if I need to. Stay safe, and thanks in advance.

  8. posted 1 of these about 2 months ago with almost a completely different build. have taken advice from a friend and other plp from this forum and made this new 1. I will give a detailed explanation as to y i picked what I did and if anyone has advice on things i can look into in order to improve or refine it then im open to help. http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/d6QbkT CPU: I5-6600K. Was original going to go with the i5-4460 as it was the lowest cost 4-core but my friend suggested more power. Given that i decided that with the cost to performance I might as well go with the 6600K as it was only a bit more then other less powerful CPUs such as the 4690K or 6500. It would also allow options for upgrade in the future with the compatibility with the upcoming Kabylake. CPU Cooler: Cooler Master 212X. Didnt need one for my previous build as it was a non-K so planned to go with the most popular cooler the Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO but then after about 10-15 min of looking found out that the 212X lasts much longer and improves temps (only by about 2 degrees C but still). MOBO: Asus Z170 Pro Gaming/Aura ATX LGA1151. Capable of crossfire for future upgrade if I need it. Lots of usb 3.0 (i am currently using all 3 on my shitty 5yr old laptop so nice to have more then less). I think it comes with RGB on the side built in (not sure but if so then given that my build is all black I can use the lights to give my build an 2-tone I want). Most it came between this and a Gigabyte board the GA-Z170X-UD3 Ultra. My friend suggested against a MSI board I had picked in my 4460 build. RAM: Kingston FURY 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-2133. Simply fits with the colour scheme, compatable and a good brand. Its RAM so long is it works. Storage: Samsung 850 EVO 500GB. One of the fastest SSDs (could go faster with Pro line or M.2 but costs more), and the least likely to fail. Given that this laptop just had a HDD failure I want reliable storage. More Storage: WD Black 1TB. Again reliability WD is basically tied with another brand (I think the company that owns it) as making the least likely to fail HDDs. Black for 5yr warranty and faster then blue. Actually having a hard time choosing between Black and Blue as my budget has been shot to hell with the $300 jump from 1150 (my old planned build) to the new one. GPU: Asus Rx480 8GB ROG Strix. The part that most plp r going to argue over. Reason y I went AMD over Nvidia is $. While the RX480 and GTX 1060 cost ~ the same gsync would run me another $300. Also while the 1060 does better across the board in DX11 games (aka right now) with the improvements the rx480 gets in DX12 or Vulkan it beats it. As for y this brand over other its the lowest temp wise other aftermarkets r either bad (c gigabyte or powercolor) or r a bit loud. Really it came between sapphire, MSI or asus. MSI would have been the winner if not for the red. still might go sapphire if it can under cut Asus enough in cost. Case: Phanteks Eclipse P400S ATX Mid tower. Just got help on this on the forum (thx 2 stconquest and some other plp) it looks good, seems to b scratch resistant (according to hardwarecanuck review), and while its a fan short of the 3 I wanted it also has lights. Got decent cable management and it has 2 usb3.0 in the front with the audio. PSU: EVGA 600B 600W 80+ Bronze Cert. Has good review and has the amount of Watts I need. Was told should have gotten better but it is the only part I have bought so far for this and it was on sale for $50. Monitor: ViewSonic XG2401 23.6" 144Hz Freesync. Well 144Hz and Freesync it is the cheapest monitor that does that and a very detailed review I found gives excellent quality surprisingly. OS: Windows 10. Luckily my friend took me he would hook me up so that is 115 bucks off. Might have went with Kinguin but there is conflicting info on if that is illegal or not and it just seemed sketchy (thankfully dont have to resort to it) As for the KB and Mouse I will ask my family to get me the g910 orion spectrum and g900 chaos spectrum for Christmas. well just wrote an essay of detailed explanation lets c if anyone reads it and if anyone can give me some good suggestions.
  9. Hi, i've just registered because I need help deciding on parts for my first build. I'm willing to invest about 600$ for the remaining parts, because I already have the peripherals and gtx 1080, that I got from a friend of mine as a gift for my very first build. I'll be mainly playing MMORPG's and games such as Witcher 3, Skyrim and Fallout 4 at 1080p (might be upgrading to 1440 in the near future) No fancy stuff is needed, just enough so that I can start gaming. So basically: Case CPU Motherboard RAM Storage PSU (1440 monitor, optional) right? Thanks
  10. this is my first pc im building i will be using this to game, mostly casual gaming at first maybe later on i will step into more advanced games like gta. so i would like to know if this is a good build. https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/2sLP4C
  11. Intro My very first PC build. I want one great box next to my TV instead of several good ones. Broke college student. Bang-for-buck was heavily considered. For home recording studio; low noise is a major factor 60 fps gaming ; 1080p (1440p down the road) Some video editing and 3D modeling also Budget ($837) Ryzen 5 1600 ($195) Beast. Totally crushes anything. Ryzen 3 would've been plenty, honestly. Good for long-term though. GTX 1060 3GB ($199) Great value for mid-range card. Will get high-end card eventually. Scythe Mugen 5 ($46) Big, but it fits. Silence and great cooling ASRock AM4 Pro4 MATX ($60) Overclocks. Works fine, but no wifi. Good BIOS once updated. Limited fan inputs. Needed splitter. Probably should've gotten a better one though. Rosewill Capstone 550w ($55) Does its job well. No power issues. Quiet, but not silent compared to other parts. Will get a silent PSU eventually or replace fan. Semi-modular is good (way better than non-modular) I do kind of regret not going full modular. GSkill Aegis 3000 MHz 8GB RAM ($75) 8GB is enough for me, no problems. If I ever need more, I can always buy it. Intel 120 GB SSD ($37) Amazing value. Works like any SSD (really well) 1 TB 2.5" HDD (from old laptop) ($0) Free. Can't complain. Makes some noise. Would've bought External, otherwise. I hope to be SSD only someday. Fractal Design Define C Mini ($67) Heavy, bulky case. Not "mini". Good build quality all around. Clean professional aesthetic. Apple 2007 Wireless Keyboard ($35) Excellent build quality. Holds up. Thin, dense, highly portable. Perfectly responsive and firm keys USB Bluetooth and Wifi Adapters ($12) Mostly reliable. Good price. It's 2017. Why don't all boards have these? Be Quiet! Pure Wings 2 140mm x2 ($23) Great price and build quality Lots of airflow. Inaudible unless ear is next to it. Antec Truequiet 120mm ($10) Good quiet fan with manual settings. Needs molex cable to work (ugh) Noctua Thermal Paste ($5) Cooler came with a tube anyway... Wired Keyboard ($4) You need a wire keyboard to run BIOS. Got at Goodwill. I keep it in my closet. Deepcool 350 RGB LED Kit ($14) Aesthetic, but worth the money. Allows me to monitor my parts. Future Upgrades 1440p IPS 60Hz Monitor Another 8GB RAM Stick Gaming Mouse Noise Test Runs at 25-30 db (40db at most) Not silent, but definitely quiet. Mostly satisfied. Tips for Beginners Watch a full-length building tutorial (not a 5 min one). Know where each cable goes before you build. Disassemble the case at first for more room. Place IO Shield (from inside) before installing motherboard. Install the video card last, so it doesn't obstruct your view. Download Windows update before trying to resolve driver issues. Download an anti-virus ASAP (seriously) My Next Build Several years from now. 15-30 db noise is the goal. Mini ITX. Micro ATX is way too big. Motherboard w/ USB-C, wifi, bluetooth. Silent and fully modular power supply. 1 TB M2 SSD (no Internal HDD) Ryzen 2700 + 32 GB RAM + NVidia Volta 27" 1440p IPS 144 Hz G-Sync Monitor
  12. G'day All, Have been collecting old laptops and desktop (1) for years after upgrading every 2 years. But recently invested in a very decent desktop and decided to get rid of my old computer museum, scavenging where I could - mostly HDDs. One of the old computers was an Dell XPS desktop circa 2011 that was bought on the cheap and one day just stopped working... I now think maybe because of dust build up... Anyway, pulled the old XPS apart and was about to bin it all when I thought it might be a good idea to use parts of the old XPS to build my 8yo daughter a 'new' desktop from scratch. So, kept the Intel 1155 i7 Sandy Lake CPU & cooler fan and heat sink, graphics card, and 8 GB RAM, and bought Corsair PSU (550 Watt), a 'new'(?) ASUS P8H67-M PRO motherboard (fits 1155 chips), Fractal Design Mini-C case, Samsung 500 GB SSD, and some bling - 3x Corsair HD120 RGB fans (8 yo girls will be girls...). Will also throw in some scavenged HDDs. Ran the parts by Part Picker and got a tick (maybe not on the RAM from memory...). Carefully built the system on the weekend (a first ever for me) with my daughter (also a first ever for her...) using online videos, instructions and time (patience) as a guide. Spent 5-6 hours building it and I'm 99.9% sure all the bits are plugged in correctly. Turned it on and: - Thankfully the bling worked first go so the daughter was happy... very pretty...! - And the motherboard seems to be working too - ie, fans are working, power LED is glowing, and DRAM led is glowing (indicating there is an issue with the RAM...?); But: - Plugged it into 2 different monitors with 2 difference connectors (1st, DVI via the graphics card, and the 2nd a HDMI via motherboard with graphics card removed), and no response - monitors do not boot with computer and remain as if nothing is connected. Possible Issues: - RAM might have an issue... (discussed above); - And the CPU? It is possible the CPU got fried (dust build up...?) in the old XPS if it overheated, and/or got damaged before it was put in the 'new' machine. Is there anyway to test it? - Should any monitor just register when booting and indicate a bootable BIOS? - Would incompatible RAM (assuming that's an issue) freeze the computer/BIOS booting? Anybody with any suggestions will be much appreciated. Thanks.
  13. https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/FJcPkT I've gone with a Ryzen 5 1600 as it comes with the free CPU cooler and looks like an all round great value for what you're paying. The SSDs while not the most efficient way to use my budget in a normal situation, they were free so I'm going to use them as my main drive with the 1TB HDD as a backup and place to store files that don't need the increased speed of the SSDs. I'll probably look to get another 500GB SSD in the future for a total of 2TB in my build. Crucially though I've decided to go with an EVGA GTX1070 sc despite potentially having to wait a while to get my hands on it I already have a Radeon 7850 1GB which is terrible imo but will still allow me to make sure everything is working and is usable enough to get me by until the 1070 arrives. Overall though I'm really looking forward to start buying my parts and moving to the next step of actually building the PC! Again huge thanks to everyone who helped on here.
  14. Ok... I've just finished my 1st PC build (My proudest moment) and I'm currently running a Ryzen 5 2600, 16GB DDR4, 2 SSD's, 1 HDD, and a GTX 1050 Ti 4GB. The PC runs like a dream, (especially considering my previous PC) except for one issue.... The computer tends to have a random boot issue where when I turn on the PC the screen stays black longer than usual, and then when the boot screen finally comes up it stays there. The only way around it is to force it off, restart, and go thru the BIOS to get it to boot properly. The last time I had it go to sleep, it failed to boot and crashed Windows to the point where I couldn't get back on and I had to reinstall Windows 10. I believe it might be an issue with the motherboard, but I want to get a second opinion before I start shopping for one. The motherboard is a TUF Gaming TUF B450+
  15. The system fan and cpu fan starts up normally for around 10 seconds with the psu's cpu cable plugged in into the mobo's 4pin atx 12v pin but it shuts down immediately with a weird noise. My GPU is also weird. It has a PCI-Express pin but doesn't need it to start. It feels like I did everything wrong. specs: i3-8100 8GB DDR4 RAM ASRock 4GB DDR5 RX 570 GIGABYTE H310M-A 480GB SSD + 1TB HDD EVGA 500W BR 80+Bronze

    1st build ever

I can't really be more proud. The biggest challenge was the CPU cooler since I've messed up the pre-applied thermalpaste and had to take the CPU out of the socket and wipe sides that I couldn't reach when it was in the socket (it's a Ryzen chip so the pressure not to bend a pin was on XD). Anything you would change? MB: I do want the option of upgrading both CPU and GPU down the line. According to a recent MB thread on reddit the ROG Strix B550-F isn't a great choice. However I'm a bit limited when it comes to options as I'd like the ALC 1220 audio chipset and want to avoid Realtek LAN. What would you recommend? GPU: originally wanted the Sapphire Nitro, but it's not available in my region currently. Are there better options than the Pulse? Not opposed to a newer GPU, but must be AMD SSD: before someone suggests a cheaper SSD let me say I'm not going to buy a QLC SSD. If there's a better TLC option I'm all ears case: also considered the Define R5 or R6, but actually like the look of the Meshify better and it's cheaper. Case suggestions from other brands in a similar price range and style? case fan: do I need more? (I seem to remember the case comes with 2 fans already) Should I go for higher quality ones? Intend to do a positive air pressure setup. Don't need peripherals (except for the speakers) or an OS. Buying/building asap. 19. Hi there, My name is Cédric and I'm 14 years old. I'm planning to build my pc this week, but I'm still in doubt between the i5 10600k and i7 10700k. I only will game, I'd love to go with the i5 and overclock it but I'm also scared to burn it. So I think the extra €140 is worth it to go with the i7 10700k. Besides that I'd want to ask if it's easy to set Windows 10 up. Since I bought last month myself a 'msi trident x plus' but there was a problem with the windows download and I actually wanted to build myself a pc because I didn't really like the looks of the pre-built.So I returned it. Uugh, my specs would be an i7 10700k and a RTX 2070 super pre overclocked from factory (I'm pretty scared to overclock), a rtx 2080 super wouldn't be necessary. I'm also really into cooling. I want my components to be cooled good. I'm going with a Z63. Is that good enough for the i7 10700k? Or should I go with a 360mm AIO? I'd want to build in the NZXT h710i. Are there any cases that are easier to build in? As a psu I'm going with the HX750i; first I wanted to cheap out. But people were telling me that RM psu's from Corsair are bad. RAM, I don't really know if there's a big difference between 3200mhz and 3600mhz. I'm going with 16 gigs of 3600mhz corsair vengeange. Or is it just a waste and should I just go with 3200mzh? As storage I'm going with 1tb of nvme and 1tb of sata 3 ssd. For motherboard I'm going with the 'Asus ROG MAXIIMUS XII HERO' just because I like the look. On this part you can't change my mind :3. Conclusion I'm paying to much for what I'm getting but it's fine :3. Am I going to play minecraft with 2000fps? :3 I'm going with only ssd's because hard drives are slow. Umm; also, I got into COD warzone, can this run 1440p max settings +144fps? I have the 'ASUS ROG Strix XG279Q' monitor. Currently using it on a laptop with a 1050 and i5 7300hq. I really want to build my new system :3. Greetz from Cédric :3
  20. I am from Australia and I will be using this pc build for Autodesk inventor and gaming. I would like to run most games at 1080p resolution 60+ fps with medium to high settings. Should I buy the gpu now or should I wait for prices to drop... I will be needing this pc before 26th February as that is when University starts. ALL PARTS WILL BE BOUGHT FROM AN MSY STORE ONLY Pc Parts: https://au.pcpartpicker.com/list/YdwQ3F I couldn't find the psu on pc part picker so here it is from MSY: Thermaltake (PS-LTP-0650NPCWAU-2) 650Watt LitePower Gen 2 Power Supply Unit
  21. These r the 2 builds im thinking about making. 1 I was planing to make it for 2 months now (waiting until Black Friday to buy the parts for whatever PC i decide). The other 1 just tweaked a bit from the original and made in 10 min. Any advice or help is appreciated. BTW: got tips a few days ago on the Rx 480 it might be the Nitro or I might change it to the Gaming X or Asus Strix. Also the MOBO will b $100 less the price just shot up from lack of stock which is good cuz I can afford much more the budget is already kinda shot as I was originally planing 1000-1200 back when I started research. So plz nothing that shoots the price up. Damn I kinda went on a tangent there... O ya main dif between is skylake vs haswell so anything substantial about skylake that is better then haswell would b good Edit. Ok now that I got more time hear is the details of my thinking. CPUs: went with the cheapest 4 core with decent frequency. MOBOs: cheapest that gets the job done. RAM: recent decided to cut from 16GB to 8 to save $ other then that color matched to MOBO and case. Storage: went with Samsung SSD due to reliability even though it costs more plan to store OS and games on it. HDD was Western Digital again for reliability and it will b the bulk/ everything else storage. GPU: Went with AMD for a few reasons. 1 freesync monitor is cheaper than G-sync. 2 more promising future with better results in DX12 and Vulcan games. 3 Came out a few weeks into my research and started to take a liking to it over gtx 1060 and nvidia's card didn't make it a clear cut over AMD (1060 over 480 in most game by a few frame but 480 over 1060 in DX12 by a few and a lot in Vulcan). Case: Wanted a side window (y dump 1000+ $ in a machine when u cant admire it), dust filter, decent look, preferably 3 fans included (as that's where diminishing returns for temp kick in), 4 usb slots or more (I tend to have a printer, flash drive and wireless mouse plugged in so want some free for other things), cable management would b nice but honestly with this strict requirements list honest it was hard enough and enough room for my ATX MOBO, and GPU. PSU: cheapest 1 that runs it with a buffer, WONT BURN MY HOUSE DOWN and had good reviews. OS: been antagonizing over this as it adds $100 to the build. If everything else goes on sale cheap enough I will buy from whatever store it cheapest. Other wise I might have to go to a sell im not sure on for the $37 option or maybe an acquaintance I know has a solution. Monitor: Over 60Hz aka 60fps @ 75 might get ViewSonic XG2401 for 144Hz if rest of the system goes down far enough (Reminder buying Black Friday). Freesync, low response time and cheapest. Keyboard: Multi-color back lit, Macros keys, and does the job. Mouse: Best wireless gaming mouse without breaking the bank. Dont want to b restricted by a cable and a good wireless mouse has high enough Hz to make concerns about delay moot. Was looking at sensei edge but plp r mixed on i. G602 had excellent battery life, extra buttons if I want to use them and again better mice would run 150+ for Logitech G900 CHAOS SPECTRUM or Razer Mamba . Other: My work around for a case with not enough ports adds 2 more for 15 bucks IDK might choose usb hub instead. Budget originally: 1000-1200 Budget NOW: 1500-1600. Given price history system should come down to ~1400 then 15% tax brings it to around 1600. So that is my reasoning thanks to everyone that replied so far I plan on seeing the lists more closely in the coming days just glaced at some and I never knew that the 1060 came down enough to match or beat the 480 so idk where that leaves me as it still costs more for Gsync but maybe its worth it. http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/HLDnpb http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/Qd7npb
  22. OK guys, I need unbiased opinions on whether to go AMD or Intel, I DO NOT WANT TO START A FLAME WAR! Although that is sure to be what I'm doing. I'm putting together a gaming build in the $1500-1550 range. http://pcpartpicker.com/list/VR4DGX ( Project Ren Original ) http://pcpartpicker.com/list/t3t6YJ ( Project Experiment Zero/Overclock Experiment ) http://pcpartpicker.com/list/4Y6mnQ ( Future Build 3 ) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834152928 This is the laptop I am currently running. Although, these aren't up in the $1500 range this is what I came up with. Now I need a monitor, speakers, keyboard, wifi booster and operating system. I have a mouse and mouse pad. I play a good bit of the Total War series on steam, The Forest, some light CS:GO ( I haven't gone up in rank yet), World of Warcraft, Dishonored, Fallout series, Hitman, DOOM and Dark Souls, and Arma 3. I would like the GTX 1080 if possible, but I can settle for the 1070 or 980ti if I have to. The 1080 might be overkill for my needs, but I might as well go overkill because I'd like this to last at least 4 years or so. Also looked at the RX 480, I'm very curious with AMD, I think I'm leaning to intel at the moment honestly. Thank you in advance and be nice. -Deepia
  23. Hey guys im looking at building my first pc. Uses- gaming, CAD and surfing the web budget-€1200 lower is better preferences- a colour theme(any) if possible, 60 FPS on high-ultra, dual monitors if possible. Needed- whole computer plus monitors appreciate any help I've already made some ideas on PCPartPicker if you want to see ask thanks guys
  24. So my Lenovo laptop was dying, with boot times anywhere between 20 minutes and an hour. When the inevitable happened and it wouldn't turn on at all I decided I would attempt my first pc build. I have no previous experience but spent what I thought to be sufficient time researching and reading/watching tutorials (discovering LTT came after the build!). I used pc part picker to gather a list of parts which where: AMD FX9590 Arctic Freezer 7 Pro ASRock 990FX Extreme 9 ATX 4x Crucial Ballistix Tactical 8gb DDR3 MSI Radeon R9 390 EVGA SuperNOVA 1000 80+ Platinum Aerocool Strike-X Xtreme Mid Tower Samsung 850 Evo-series 250GB SSD Seagate Barracuda 1TB HDD So, at the time I was aware of some poor choices: The power supply is much more powerful than I need, however I wanted to make it future proof. I now know this is probably more powerful than I will ever need but at least I won't be down on power! Did I say choices? That's about the only thing I thought was awry but since putting it all together and loving it I have become ever increasingly interested in building rather than just using! So, I now also know: The AMD FX9590 is not that good for gaming. The Arctic Freezer 7 Pro was not nearly enough to cool the CPU adequately. I have already addressed the cooling and switched out the cooler for a Corsair H80i V2 with massive improvements. A couple of pictures are below before and after the cooler swap. So, I want some input please! This is my 1st build. I want to learn. Let me know all about my stupid decisions and what I should do better in future. Pre cooler swap After cooler swap What I think to be some semi-reasonable cable management
  25. I changed and match parts for this build, wanted to see other peoples opinions on this. I also made sure for future proofing with DDR4 setup. Please be kind it my first build. http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/qHdmGf Thanks,
