I'm in the market for a new laptop, and I'm facing a common dilemma: should I opt for the 8GB or the 16GB RAM variant of the MSI GF63? I primarily use my laptop for web development. At the moment, 8GB of RAM seems sufficient for my needs. But my parents are urging me to go for the 16GB version. So, should I give in to the pressure? And if I choose 16GB, how straightforward is it to upgrade to two 16GB sticks, considering that the initial configuration has two 8GB sticks? Also will it work as laptop for sims4 with all the addons? So more DDR4 means more power for gaming, right? These are the two laptop variants: 1. 16gb DDR4 - MSI GF63 Core i5 11th Gen 11260H - (16 GB/512 GB SSD/Windows 11 Home/4 GB Graphics/NVIDIA GeForce RTX 1650/60 Hz) GF63 Thin 11UCX-1496IN Gaming Laptop (15.6 Inch, Black, 1.86 Kg) 2. 8gb DDR4 - MSI GF63 Core i5 11th Gen 11260H - (8 GB/512 GB SSD/Windows 11 Home/4 GB Graphics/NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650/60 Hz) GF63 Thin 11SC-1494IN Gaming Laptop (15.6 Inch, Black, 1.86 Kg)

I've posted here before about how I felt that my GPU/CPU were underperforming and one of the problems people pointed out was that I had only one RAM stick. So I decided to just buy the same stick and have 2x16gb. Would you consider the increase in the 3dmark's score to be worth it? The RAM is 2X DDR4 HyperX Fury Black 16GB/3000 CL15 RTX 3070 I7-10700k MSI B460 motherboard

I'll be playing a game and in the shadows where it's dimmer there will be a checker kind of pattern. Squares of dimmer areas. Any idea what this is and how to fix it?

I am a Master's student who primarily uses software like Ansys Fluent, Solidworks, Matlab and MS Office. I also sometimes use Lightroom and Photoshop for photo editing and I do some light gaming once in a while. Does anyone have any idea regarding the thermal performance of the HP Envy 15 2020 (15-ep0010nr) having the following specifications:- Intel Core i7-10750h, Nvidia GTX 1650ti, 16GB DDR4 2933MHz Ram, 512GB PCIe NVMeM.2 SSD, Windows 10 Home, an awesome display, good battery backup (compared to gaming laptops) and under $1300. I was thinking of buying this laptop but am not sure about the cooling. I am aware that the RTX 2060 Max-Q model of the same laptop comes with a vapour chamber. But I am not sure if the above model comes with the same vapour chamber or has some other cooling system. I would appreciate it if anyone has any knowledge regarding this specific variant. I am also considering Lenovo Legion 5i but it's built isn't as good as the Envy 15 and also I won't be gaming a lot. Recommendations are welcome for laptops meeting my requirements and for a budget below $1300. I am not interested in Ryzen processors as Ansys Fluent requires around 4gb ram per core and Solidworks performance is based on single core. The link for the HP 15-ep0010nr is below. https://www.amazon.com/HP-i7-10750H-Touchscreen-Fingerprint-15-ep0010nr/dp/B0888SQHS6/ref=mp_s_a_1_12?dchild=1&keywords=hp+envy+15+2020&qid=1602991948&refinements=p_89%3AHP%2Cp_n_feature_five_browse-bin%3A13580790011%2Cp_n_feature_four_browse-bin%3A2289792011&rnid=676578011&s=pc&sprefix=hp+envy+15&sr=1-12

To the problem, when I was finished building in my first PC build for streaming, gaming, etc, (no over clocking yet); it wouldn’t boot up. I then installed the BIOS speaker into my motherboard, which helped me diagnose that the ram was the problem. I switched the ram sticks into different slots, played with the placement of the sticks, Blah Blah. Found out one stick was faulty, and other is fine and can let me boot. What should I do now? Should I ask Newegg or GSKILL for an RMA? My mom (I am a teenager but I prefer not to say my age for reasons) bought the ram for me on Christmas. (My parents are divorced btw so that’s why it took me a while for me to finish it). If none of them (GSKILL and Newegg) accepts to replace or refund the ram, should I just sell the ram to get other ram from another manufacturer such as OLOy or Crucial? System specs: CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 3700x Motherboard: Asus TUF X570 Gaming (Jon WiFi) RAM: GSKILL Trident Z RGB 2x8 (16GB) GPU: ASUS ROG Strix Rx 5700XT OC (yes I know about the mounting pressure problem)

Hello, so I am very new to overclocking and I want some help. I know you can't really overclock an i7-4770 non-K but I really want to get it to max turbo(3.9) or at least 3.7/3.8 when Gaming or doing something that needs the power. I have an Asus H81-GAMER motherboard, 16GB ram DDR3 that I put at 1.25V and the i7, also I run it on stock cooler, but today I ordered another cooler that will come on like Tuesday/Wednesday. With the settings on Auto it runs at 80-85° max in games, but I would like it to run cooler but also at 3.7-3.9 if it's achieveable. My PSU is a BeQuiet 500W 80+Gold unit PurePower 11 I think, almost forgot to say. So in Bios I know about the voltage setting but I don't really understand the Offset and VCCIN and stuff like that. Also, sometimes my PC just restarts, I mean it like powers off I think and then restarts. If someone has the time please write me the settings I need to use in order to achieve my goals. Much love

Hello, i bought RDR2 a couple months ago and immediately noticed that "Other Apps" took exactly 5416MB of Vram, now i tried a couple things back then but i can't quite recall what they were but it didn't do nothing so i just waited for a lot of patches in case it was a bug. Fast forward to today where this number is exactly the same, now, i'm 100% sure that nothing other than Steam and the game itself is running in the background i closed everything chrome, icue, steelseries engine etc. But nothing, i even booted my pc in safe mode and again the same exact amount, i tried Vulkan and DX12 and nothing changed, i really don't know what else to do i even deleted and reinstalled the entire game which with my internet connection literally took a whole week so i'm not too keen on doing that again. Here is a photo of the graphics settings menu: My systems specs (in case they matter) are: CPU: Intel Core i7 4790(non k) GPU: Nvidia RTX 2070 Super RAM: 16gb 2133mhz Edit: Following rockstars recommendation i closed all running services excluding steam and rockstar and it didn't help.

So far I have only bought a z170 Asus mobo. I plan on using a G4560 CPU. I have read I will need a bios update which might be hard to do in South Australia without friends. Ram I am unsure of, will ddr4 1600 8gbx2 cause any issues? Corsair vengeance pro 2400 8gbx2 seems to be the cheapest option locally. No plans to run a GPU for a while, an rx480 is all I'm considering upgrading to midyear. As for hhds, budget is the concern. Can I get away with a 120gb SSD for booting & a 2tb Seagate barracuda 3.5"? What's the recommendations? The PC is strictly for word processing, web browsing and youtube in 4k. What am I missing? I don't have a the budget for a fancy case, I'm hoping temps will be kept low, a SHAW case is all I can afford but I'd consider any sub $50aud case. What else am I missing? I don't need a sound card ATM, do I need a CD/DVD drive these days? Are there any cables that I need? Will the G4560 come with a heatsink/fan combo? Will the case require more fans? My PC supplier is: Http://www.msy.com.au/parts/parts.PDF http://www.msy.com.au/Parts/PARTS.pdf The store is literally a stones throw away and for tax reasons its better to buy locally.

I currently have gtx 750ti, 1x8gb ddr3 (the black hyperx one), x4 860k with stock cooler (its REALLY LOUD like srsly loud under load), so i was wondering if coolermaster 212 evo is worth buying with this current config? cpu under load is running at 67 C and the stock cooler is so loud, sounds like a jet. And is upgrading to 16gb ddr3 worth?i might buy ryzen cpu in the near future (probably 1 year from now lol) and, you know, new motherboard with ddr4. I want to have 2x8gb because single channel is bad, everyone says that its bad, sometimes i have microstutters and im sure that its happening because of single channel, bcs my friend has same pc but with 2x4gb ram and he doesn't have microstutter in games like lol, dota and csgo. Sometimes even my pc stutters when i have bunch of word documents, few power point presentations and stuff like that, and ram isnt full, i maybe use 5-6gb. And ye im pretty sure that microstuttering is not happening because of cpu, temps are low when im playing league. any suggestions? here is the sound of my cooler, raise the volume a little bit because my mic not so good.. but just listen to the cooler

Hi. My name is Tomás. I recently built myself a new pc which I have overall been quite happy with. However, I soon noticed a large problem. While gaming intensively the pc would cut out. It wouldn't even automatically reboot. I have ruled out GPU temperatures as they were only between 73-82 degrees on load. I believe that it's the power supply but before I go out and buy a new one I thought I'd get some other people's opinions. Here are my PC specs: CPU: Ryzen 3 1200 RAM: 16GB RAM: 16GB 2400mhzCorsair Vengeance DDR4 RAM GPU: Zotac NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6 GB Mini Motherboard: MSI B350M GAMING PRO PSU: Corsair VS550w 80+ Silver Rating I understand that this PSU isn't the best but I thought that it would handle this PC fine. I'm thinking of replacing it with the Corsair RM550x. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Corsair-RM550x-Modular-Power-Supply/dp/B015PWMRI0?th=1 Anyone have any ideas?

Hi, I have a HP Elitebook 8470p running Windows 10 pro 64 bit. It has Intel i7 3.0ghz processors, 16gb RAM, 1tb hard drive. I use this laptop for DJ'ing using Serato DJ Pro and I also dabble with FL Studio music software with various VST's I know I can get an 2.5 inch SSD drive for it but wondered if I was able to upgrade the processor and RAM or am I at the maximum specs for this laptop?

Hello, I am from India and I wanted to build a pc. My use of that pc would be gaming at low-medium settings and for creating media. I am anyway going to cut down the price by around 5K. I'm Buying these parts at a local shop in my city called as The IT Depot. All of these prices are from that website (except for the SSD, it is from amazon). So I've been planning a new build for a while and all i have so far is the psu, case, and 6 fans. The reason I haven't finished it yet is I'm having problems picking the parts. I mean I know I want a r7 2700x but I can't decide on the motherboard. I was going to go with the asus prime x470 but learned it doesn't support block adjustments just multiplier. So now I'm looking at the asrock x470 taichi but it's an extra 50 bucks.(these are local microcenter pricing and promotions for mobo). The reason I was looking at a block adjust ments is I want to use xfr2 and get good single core as well as all core boosts. I'm planning on getting the alphacool eisbaer 360lt aio. Then I was going to go with 16gb x 2 3000mhz cl16 team group ram for $240(which I read a review for that it can oc to 3333 with same timings or lower to cl14 at same, clocks). But saw 3200mhz cl6 g skills trident z kit for $250. Then I saw a 3200mhz cl14 8gb x 2 kit for $200or a 3600mhz cl15 8gb x 2 for $220. So,I,don't,know if I should get 16gb or 32gb and what speed vs latency is best. Every kit specific ram review I see is done on an intel test bench so I have no clue which, kits will even, hit advertised speeds. Pls help Hopefully some people have first hand info or links to articles or at least read some I haven't found.

I need advice for a gaming laptop Hey guys I need advice for a decent gaming laptop ($1500CAD or less) that has a Intel i5 16GB of Ram and a GTX 1050TI if its a hundred dollars more I'm fine I just move around from my grandma's to my parents house a lot so I need a laptop instead of hauling my PC every week I move. Lastly, Make sure its not bulky or looks like crap, Dell, Acer, MSI etc are good. Games I will be playing, CS:GO Rainbow 6 Siege (Mainly) Call Of Duty: Black Ops 4 GTA 5 ---------------------- I really need to know cause this is becoming a hassle really quickly and I have been saving up abit recently and with Christmas coming around soon it will help me with costs for other stuff (Xbox One S for my grandmas while I'm there and a Elgato.) Thank you so much it means alot!

I recently bought an ASUS Rog strix G gaming notebook with i7 9750h processor, NVIDEA GTX 1660ti Graphics and 16 GB DDR4 RAM. My friend has a Lenovo Y540 with exactly same specs, ran Ac odyssey, Ac origins on both pc's with same game settings and it gives me 20-25 less fps in both games. Tried running COD modernwarfare and I get 70-80 fps but he gets 90+ fps on exactly same game settings. I have all the updated graphics drivers my Windows and bios is up to date, I run the games on turbo mode, power plugged in, with all other apps shut and everything. So if someone could help me with a solution, its really frustrating.
