  1. Hello anyone know a way to create your own custom iso image win10 without deployment toolkit?
  2. Hi all, I have a Ethernet and WiFi on my desktop - both on same network. I need to use a VPN to remote work - its a custom VPN provided by my company not much settings to change unlike if you setup a VPN yourself from Windows 10. How can I make it so that the VPN connection goes through the WiFi card (its mostly for RDP session not need of too much bandwith so WiFi is more than ok). I partially succeeded but it requires me to disable the Ethternet , start the VPN and then re-enable the Ethernet. I want to avoid to do this and also sometimes when I re-enable the Ethernet the VPN drops. Does anyone tried something like this and could share his setup ? Thanks
  3. Hi everyone! Long time lurker here, and I could really need some extra eyes. I've bought a new m.2 ssd (Samsung Evo 970 500GB) as I noticed my motherboard (z97-ar, pretty old gal I know) supported it. Now I want to move my windows 10 to that drive, and I have hit a couple walls. To even boot on the new drive and get it recognized in the bios took some tinkering with bios settings, and needed to set the new ssd to gpt and disable csm in bios. Problem is my current drive is mbr, so I couldn't use clonezilla to clone from the old mbr drive to gpt. After much headache I got the old drive converted from mbr to gpt. Great! Here we go! I boot up clonezilla, I get a successful clone and disk management shows everything is cloned, awesome! Now my biggest hurdle yet, I unplug my old drive and boot into the newly cloned ssd. Windows quickly shows loading and then gives me the error "INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE" and I can't for the life of me find any relevant info or guides for it. Can anybody please help?
  4. Hello everybody. I have not received 2004 yet, but I read that they brought back some functionalities about bluetooth. Does anybody know if it will be possible to use the PC as a hands free device for an android phone? (dial numbers, use the headset and microphone to make calls) that would be really helpful to me as my home office is in the basement and I have to keep the phone far from me to reliably use it.
  5. I can't "run" a .bat file. when i double tap it this comes up: (Sorry for it bein in norwegian) It translates in to: "You need a new app to open this .bat file". And next to the windows store icon it says: "Search for an app in the microsft store". I don't know what i did to trigger this. I noticed it today. In the standard apps window it shows this: Where it says "fil" it's norwegian for "file"
  6. A couple of hours ago I was using my headphones (Audio Technica M50x), I unplugged them so I could use them on my drum kit, and when I plugged them into the same port again the max volume felt like about half of what it used to be. I plugged it into a different computer and the max volume level was at the normal level of ear shattering on it. I tried re-installing drivers, restarting, safe mode, disabling enhancements, and maxing out the mixer with no luck, any Idea whats going on?

    Error by shutdown or reset

hi so ive had this message when I go to shut down or rest my pc."The instruction at 0x00007FF7D9C18732 referenced memory at 0x000000000000030. the memory could not be written. I check the ram and the ram is ok there is no problem there. I need help. thank you
  10. I need to create bootable flash drive so i can install windows on new pc, but when i run media creation tool it doesn't let me choose where i want to install it, it's dowloading straith to hard drive and ignores flash drive. I tried it several times and it does same, ignores flash drive... What can i do to install windows on flash drive without installing it in hard drive?
  11. Hello, dear LTT forum users! I've just come home from my friends house and I can't stop thinking about a problem I encountered today. First things first: my friend got himself an MSI laptop about two years ago. He ran it with off-the-shelf Win8 for all that time. About two months ago we updated his laptop with Win10 (silly reason but Fifa 17 doesn't want to run on Win8 with mobile gpu). A week ago his SSD died. A brief overview of the specs: i7-4720hq, 860m, 16gb RAM, 1TB HDD + 128 Crucial SSD (both SATA3). I've tried a couple things but it was just dead - none of the operating systems did see him (checked under Linux to see if it's even recognized). In BIOS there was no such entry as a second drive. Since he had 3 years guarantee on this particular model, he gave it back to the shop, and today they gave it back with a new SSD. BIOS sees it, Windows let's me install on the drive, partitions show correctly, fdisk and diskpart show all drives but here the fun part begins. I've installed Win10 using Legacy mode, created a partition during installation process. It all ran smoothly, with no error. At the end the PC rebooted itseld and instantly after bootscreen, greeted us with BSOD... "INACCESSIBLE BOOT DEVICE". "What the heck?!" I thought. Few reboots later I gave up and booted Ubuntu from USB. It installed even quicker than Win10, rebooted and guess what? Started just fine, giving acces to the ssd, read, write, everything worked. "Well, let's try Windows now then, shall we?". This time Win10 installer didn't allow me to proceed with installation on the SSD, even after formating it to NTFS, saying that "It may not be able to boot from this device" (not sure how is it in english since the installer was in my native language) and asking me to check the BIOS settings to make sure that it is a bootable drive (yeah, good luck with BIOS settings on a laptop - barely few options with boot priority being the "biggest" one...). At this point i changed boot mode to UEFI, cleaned the disk, changed tables to gpt manually. Windows installed correctly, rebooted, BSOD with the same code as earlier. Unfortunately it was impossible to unplug the drive itself and check it on any other computer since we... didn't have any screwdriver around and just gave up since it was already late. What might be the cause of such a weird error? I've got a legitimate Windows license and USB stick with iso image made using Microsoft's own tool - just to be clear about that. I'd highly appreciate any help since my friend is heartbroken without his computer (the only one he has) and I have no clue how to get it working under Windows. Łukasz
  12. should i buy it to upgrade from win 7? wil i be abel to upgrade my pc later?
  13. About a month ago my cortana search bar would no longer open when click and the windows button takes a long time to open up the applications menu. Ive tried several of the known fixes, but to no avail. One peculiar thing i notice is when I open windows start menu, a screen flashes above for a split second and then the menu comes up, but is too fast to see. Any explanation for this or fixes would be greatly appreciated.
  14. Moro (Hello) I went digging the foldersystems of my Win10 pro operating system, programfiles and users. For example i found in my user folder .LSC containing my downloads, and my downloads folder was empty... What? When did this happen and how? Do you have any answers? I don't. Greggio
  15. Hi all, I've recently migrated my home PC from Win7 Pro to Win10 Pro (1607) with the Media Creation tool. I know that it is not the best but I have lots of programs and Games which would take me days to get back like they were... I don't even have the installation CDs anymore . Since I've read a lot of comments about "Do yourself a favor and do a clean Win10 install instead of the migration", I'm asking what really are the consequences? Is it because of the drivers that are still from Win7? you can reinstall them with Win10 drivers. or is it because of the old files which use up unnecessary space? Is there any consequence for the gaming experience? Thanks.
  16. Out of nowhere, my computer now takes 2 attempts to start itself. When I initially power it on, I am greeted by the Asus BIOS Screen. However, all peripherals are unpowered, and the startup gets stuck at this screen. Pushing the reset button immediately solves this and the computer boots up just perfectly and there are no issues. I've tried re-seating all components and clearing CMOS. Anyone have a clue on what this might be?
  17. Hello, I have got the following problem with my system: Every now and then the RAM goes up to 90% usage and once it's there it won't go back down (Screenshot of the Taskmanager). And just by looking at the Taskmanager i can't seem to find any application that's using all that RAM. Not really suprising, but my PC starts lagging and being really slow. I can't tell any specific reason, that causes this problem. Sometimes it occurs directly after startup, sometimes after hours of running just fine and sometimes not at all. The only programms i installed that run on startup are: -Skype -Spotify -Steam But even after closing all the apps and programms i used the RAM won't go down, but sometimes even up I have reinstalled Win 10 about a week ago, because i was pretty sure the previous installation went somehow wrong. I often got BSOD's and sometimes it didn't even boot into Windows. Next start it says it can't start the OS because of an error and i need to repair it. And then magically the next restart it worked fine again. All of these strange behaviours are now (after reinstalling) gone and it works fine except for the part with the RAM. Thank you for helping If you need any further information please ask, because i really want to solve this annoying problem. System: OS: Win 10 Pro 64bit CPU: Intel Core i7 2600 RAM: 8 GB (1333 Mhz) DDR3 GPU: 2x GTX 760 in SLI (2x 4GB GDDR5) PSU: 700 Watt Coolermaster Mainboard: ASUS P8Z68-V/GEN3 Main Storage: 256 GB SanDisk SSD Alternative Storage: 256 GB SanDisk SSD 4 TB HDD 2 TB HDD 1 TB HDD 500 GB HDD
  18. Hello there, Can you help me out? there seems to be an issue with my partitions, as I can't merge them back together. It's like that because I tried to dual boot Linux mint with windows both on the same drive. But for some reason the installer kept crashing so I tried installing it over and over, formatting the USB, redownloading the iso file and kept failing. So I gave up and this is what I got. I'm trying to merge the mess that I made aka the partitions back together and maybe try a new Linux distro to install and I need the extra space. But when i tried merging them together using AOMEI Partition Assistant this error message always pops up: "Sorry, the current operation has been canceled! Information Code: 35 Description: Failed to open the volume. It may be locked by other programs. What does the Information Code mean? Please refer to: http://www.disk-partition.com/help/errorcode.html " Note: i am aware that this thread is not the best choice but i really need some help here I would like to get some help from you guys Thank's for reading and i wish to hear your suggestions soon.
  19. Hey people. I have an odd issue with my laptop. I just bought a new WD Blue ssd 250gb wanting to switch my hdd in my Samsung Series 5 laptop with it. After switching them out , installing windows etc. there's an issue while booting. Namely, the laptop will not boot unless there's a USB stick inserted, doesn't matter what's on the stick, which port it's inserted in, nothing.. I've fiddled with every possible function within the BIOS (boot order, fast boot, ...). Reinstalled different copies of windows, different versions. If anyone ever had a problem like this and care to share the experience or idealy the solution I would appriciate it a lot. edit: Forgot to mention that the laptop works perfect in any way a part from that strange boot issue, if the stick is inserted the laptop normaly boots and functions as is...

  21. Heyho to the Ltt community So i installed a programm that apperantly decided it wants to sit on its own drive so it somehow created a new drive https://www.pic-upload.de/view-33306907/1.png.html as seen here it shows the same usage but is actually completely empty when you go inside https://www.pic-upload.de/view-33306909/2.png.html well it was inside where the files from the programm that i had installed funnyly enough when i tried to uninstall the programm it said that the path was invalid and that it cant find the files so i had to move them over to the Games D: drive which is the actual one to be able to uninstall it. Now the iffy thing is that i cant seem to get rid of that "drive" (it is also not shown as a partition in the partition manager https://www.pic-upload.de/view-33306916/3.png.html) No the question is that how do i get rid of this drive thingy in my explorer its super annoying. Thank you very much in advance Chris
  22. I have been trying to figure out why my Windows 10 won't go into sleep mode. It shuts off my monitor and never enters sleep mode. I've tried many different solutions I've been able to find online, but none of them has corrected the issue. Am I missing something? The following is the Power Efficiency Diagnostics Report from my computer. If someone could help I would very much appreciate it! 23. Hi, Since a few days my pc starts with trying to repair the drive. It signals that there is a problem with "E:\\windows\system32\logfiles\srt\srttrail.txt" and it isn't able to repair it. The strange thing is I don't have a E drive. The problem first appeared when I used an ISO file for a game I downloaded. The only way I can enter my pc is through testmodus of windows 10. Originally I tried to reinstall windows 10 but it didn't allow me to do so due to the limited SSD drive (60GB) capacity. (A new bigger SSD is on the way) 1) What can I do? How can I fix this? 2) If I want to do a new install on the new SSD, can I use the windows 7 key which I used to upgrade to windows 10? Should I make a bootable USB drive of a windows 7 or windows 10 version? If my problem isn't well explained, please ask for more information. Kind regards TheOnlyNapster
  24. Hello everyone, I could not determine the best place to post this question. My fan is always on my ASUS Q550LF Laptop and are a lot louder than they use to be. I upgraded my storage by putting in an SSD and I was suggested to do a clean install of win10. So before doing so I backed up my drivers and did a clean install. Prior to the upgrade my fans were almost silent. I did have a period when I first installed win10 that I was having a similar problem but after a system update it stopped. After the clean install, all of win10 updates, and all of the drivers that I had my fans are much louder even when idle. Before the clean install I was not having any problem so I do not know what my fan RPM was. But I have a screen shot below of what it is when it is "loud" and idle. When playing a game I expect them to turn on get a little louder but not when idle. Since it previously was fixed with a windows update I am thinking it is related to win10 but I have read windows does not control the fans directly and I have made sure to turn off all background services that are not needed (win10 update sharing, ect) so the CPU usage is typically at 5-15% I have looked at ASUS for other updates and I have found there is a BIOS update but nothing fan related so I am hesitant to update that. I am at a loss as to what it could be or what to check out next. Any help would be appreciated.
  25. My laptop is facing a tons of problem recently and I am deciding whether to sell it. I am facing random blue screen when idle(never blue screen when gaming) with code nviddiasys There is also electric noise(maybe coil whine? sound different from what linus video shows) and I notice after switch to gtx1070 only(off optimus) the sound disappear. And when the sound get louder, the blue screen will be most likely to occur... The optimus is behaving weird as it keep switching between hd530 and gtx1070. This causes random freeze when watching video(in edge and chrome). There is also several times where the screen turn black and start blinking.Even after restart the problem still exist and I have to use Fn+D to hard reset the laptop. I tried to roll back driver for both intel igpu and gtx1070 but nothing happen. Sorry for the bad english
