I've seen UHD panels that say they are for the dell Inspiron 7567 (15 gaming 2017) om ebay. Its a great laptop on its own and im still planning to buy one; but is there anyone who can confirm that these UHD panels exist and are actually usable? I remember also seeing that the colors on the UHD panel are far better than those on the regular FHD. Im planning on using my laptop (when i get it) for a little bit of content creation, so a UHD screen and better colors would be one hell of an improvement. If not ill just lug one of my actual monitors around. I have searched the internet all morning and still can't find a decent answer to my question. My question is "What do I need in order to burn 4K content on a disc, and what do I need to play them." For the burning part I'm looking for advice in what type of Internal Blu-ray Drives support 4K UHD Burning and if any type of Blu-ray Disc supports that resolution writing. For the playing part I'm mainly looking for software what is capable. And if playing back on Linux is preferred rather than Windows as i have heard issues on 4K playback in Windows. I am looking to purchase on Amazon an LG WH16NS40 Blu-ray Burner and some cheap Optical Quantum OQBDR06LT-50 Blu-ray discs for a small filming business as well as personal use since I want to store 4k videos on disc to save memory space on my PC and play it on the PC later on when needed. Any recommendations or advice in 4k burning would be greatly appreciated.

Hello! I'm looking for a new monitor since I need a bit more desktop space doe to programming and I want moar pixels. I have an Asus VG278H currently and it's been a great monitor but the 1080Pness is starting to bug me when I go from my MBP to my desktop. Also the color banding in games and videos. My current monitor would be as a second monitor. So I am debating on whether to get a UHD 27 inch monitor like the LG 27UD58 or an ultrawide like the LG 34UC88. Is there a huge difference in fidelity? The UHD monitor is quite a bit cheaper and has more pixels, but the quality might be worse. Not many reviews on the UD58, but many have said there is some backlight bleed on the more expensive but older UD68. If there are any other monitors I should be aware of PLEASE tell me. I have been trying to decide for the past weekend, but I have come up with nothing. Budget is ideally 600 euros max, BUT if there is a super duper good monitor for 700, I might consider it. Please note I am located in Finland (EU) so US sales don't really apply. I hope someone can help a man in distress Help is much appreciated! Edit: Gaming is not a priority.

So I'm planning to get a laptop with the new GTX 10 series gpu's and I want to get a UHD screen. And I want to know which is better for the price. Should I go for a 1060 and game at 1080p if it wont run at the native resolution(3840x2160) or go straight for the 1070 and have no problems? Which is worth better for the long term? ps. I'll also be planning on getting an external GPU box in a few years once the gpu is outdated.

Hello, I am curious to know if windows 10 supports multiple GPUs of different models. My purpose is to have one GPU dedicated to gaming (GTX1080) and a secondary GPU dedicated to running two separate monitors. I'm wanting to do this so that the other two monitors aren't affecting the gameplay on my main monitor. Is this possible? I currently have a GTX1060 or GTX760 that I could throw in if this would actually work. Does anyone know if this can be done? I'd rather not take my PC apart again and try all this if it's not going to work anyway. Any help is appreciated. Thank you

So I just built a new system. Purely for media consumption. Netflix, a lot of gaming (csgo and fallout types alike), dank memes, you get the idea. I currently have a 6600k OC'd to 4.1ghz and a zotac amp! gtx 1080 at their factory superclock with 16gb of ddr4 ram. I also currently have a 1440p 60hz monitor. one of the Korean panels from awhile ago. I am looking at new monitors. I have always had a 3 monitor setup, and am pretty okay with having 2 lousy 1080p 60hz TN panels as peripheral monitors for awhile if needed. I know the 1080 will run most games right around the 1440p 144hz threshold as well as 4k 60hz. A VA or IPS panel is pretty much needed as I can't think of buying a TN panel with so much money potentially thrown around. the main question is what would be the most noticeable, the refresh rate boost or the res. boost? and what monitors do you guys suggest? im still entertaining the fact of a 27" 1440p 144hz, 4k 60hz, or ultrawide 1440p as long as I can get over 60 hz.

Hello guys, I want to upgrade my current FHD 27" Asus monitor towards something....better. The question is, which resolution should I look for? I have PS4 Pro and recently I am gaming mainly at the PS4 Pro and occasionaly at the PC. As I have understood, PS4 Pro supports 4K resolution, but no curved monitor at the market supports 4K, because it is usually ultra wide monitor right? For example I would want something like this, but the resolution is 3840 X 1080. Would PS4 support such a resolution? Thank you for answers dear community

There is a lot of discussions on monitors based on refresh rates and input lag, ppi, etc and it all revolves around gamers who play fps type games, but what about those who don't? What about those who just play MMOs or single player games, do we really need a 144hz monitor with low input lag or can we dive down to something lower without any hindrance? Would like some input, thanks

I have a core i5 4xxx series machine with a radeon 6770 at home that I use to download and stream movies to my television. My TV is connected to my pc via a series of 100 mbit routers. I get real world speeds of around 10-11 mbps. The question is: Is this bandwidth and cpu power enough to stream native 4K HDR movies to my TV?

So, I am going to buy a 4k monitor. IPS screen 4ms. How do I watch 4k movies? Do I just watch them as I usually would and it will be 4k? On HBO nordic for instance? someone mentioned 4k blu ray? What is that is it ordinary blu ray just with 4k resolution? Can I buy this and connect it to my pc then just insert regular blu ray movies and it will be amazing? https://www.netonnet.se/art/datorkomponenter/cd-dvd-bluray/asus-bw-16d1htblkg/194017.8959/ THANKS

Hey guys, I am planning to get the Alienwear 17 R4, wondering how much difference FHD and UHD panels would make to the battery life and is it worth it!?

So my gaming habits have changed a bit in that I now go to my buddies places more and more often with my machine. Since my only display is an ultrawide that is very difficult. I like the display....no doubt about it, but it isn't like I am dying when I only use a 16:9 for something else. I even tried using a 16:9 format for gaming on my 21:9 Monitor with black bars and forgot about it very quickly.....i dunno. Now you might be thinking "get to it already you...." and you are right. I ordered a refurbished MG24UQ for only 250 bucks. Super cheap for a very nice compact display that can either be used well for 4k or 1080p. It has yet to arrive, but I was so surprised about the amazing price on eBay (from an actual retailer that I actually bought the ultrawide from) that I just put a bid in at the minimum price and got it. I can send it back so no harm is done. In general my thought was that I like high res gaming and will probably sooner or later have a gpu that can drive that. I want a more portable monitor and the MG24UQ can actually be disassembled with a simple click. I don't mind 60hz much and freesync is still.in the box when dipping below that. I love IPS, which I would still have. Ultrawide is nice but lacks support still. I am looking at you Fallout 4...and many others. And I like the idea that 1080p looks good on a 4k screen because of it just being 4 times less pixels....well you get what I mean. Now if you say that 4k looks much better on a bigger screen...well yeah...maybe, but I already had a 28" 4k screen once and it wasnt all that great to sit in front of a huge screen like that. And I like that I can disable AA in games and just get a sharp image. Well I guess I will see. Also of course if anyone is curious about the monitors or anything you want me to look into, feel free to ask. I will be home on Sunday and then try out a few things. Monitor should get to me on saturday.

Hey Everyone, My question stems from a need(WANT) to upgrade to 4k. I primarily use my computer for gaming, editing photo, and video. My video and photo editing are from a 4k camera and would love to edit raw in its native resolution for the best experience. I have done extensive research on these two monitors, and due to the rise in popularity of the LG ud88 there seem to be a minimal amount of inventory on the market. This has caused a major price gouge on most sites. So this is where the Asus MX27UC comes into play...They seem pretty comparable in most aspects besides physical adjustment, appearance, and Price. I have come to the Linus Tech Tips community to ask for some opinion and personal experience with these two monitors. The Asus Designo series is confusing to me because they don't seem to have a clear target market, that i can find, so its hard to know if they are actually as similar as the specs make them seem. Please help. Thank you for your time.

Thanks to Intel for sponsoring this video! Check out the Intel NUC on Newegg: http://geni.us/XS3BEan How do you watch 4K content on your PC? Are you big on streaming, or are you more of a physical media type?

My sister and her husband want me to build a HTPC that will play movies and TV shows in 4K for them. Coincidentally, my grandmother wanted a new computer and I suggested a HTPC to her and she said that'd be good. I plan on giving her my old 1080p TV to go with it. The thing is I don't really know my about making/planning a relatively good HTPC so I came here for help. The only requirements are they both need to be Mini ITX and have a wireless mouse & keyboard, a Wi-Fi card or on-board Wi-Fi, an OS, and they'll both need a Blu-ray optical drive.

Hello everyone. I recently bought GTX 980 Ti and I'm planning to buy Ryzen 5 1600, so I need your help with choosing the right budget monitor for my needs (mostly gaming and multimedia). I have a pick on a BENQ EL2870UE 28". It costs 280 USD in my country. It has a 4K display, 60Hz refresh rate, 1ms response time, some kind on HDR etc... And, on the other hand, there is one 43" Smart TV with a 4K panel, costing 225 USD. Manufacturer is a Blueberry. But I don't think it has HDMI 2.0, so I will be limited to 30 fps with 4K resolution. It has 8ms response time. Both have a VESA mount, integrated speakers and a 3 year warranty. What do you think would be a better choice, cause I don't think GTX 980 Ti can play newer games at 60 fps in 4K? And does anyone have an experience with BENQ EL2870UE monitor or a similar one from Benq? Thanks in advance. P.S. Sorry if I made some grammar mistakes. English is not my native language.

I'm planning to buy a smart TV which is TCL 43P8M - 43" P8M SERIES. This is my first time buying a smart TV 4k UHD, so I have questions before buying it. 1.) What is the video format applicable for this model for 4k movie? 2.) The CPU of this TV is (64bit A55x4 900MHz~1.1GHz) how many cores does it have? 2.1) Can this CPU really plays 4k UHD movies without stuttering or frame lag? 3.) My friend also owned TCL 50" smart TV he said sometimes when he play some movie on his TV the sound of it is too weak he cant even hear the people talking on the movie even thou the volume on TV is maxed. However some movies comes with great sound when he plays it on TV. But the movies which are the volume is too weak on TV when he plays it on his laptop the sound quality is good.
