I already have a relatively hefty gaming rig: i7 4790k 28GB Crucial Ballistix Tracer Gigabyte G1 GTX 970 I have some parts laying around for a streaming only setup that includes a AMD 6300, a Kraken x31, and an Asus M5A78L-M LX Plus mobo (microATX). I want the thing to be a small and silent. It needs to be able to record at 1080p60 and stream at 720p60. I'd be taking out the Elgato HD60 Pro out of my gaming rig and putting it into this stream/record system. The editing and rendering will be handled by the gaming rig. Really trying to utilize the parts he parts I have, so I'd prefer not to upgrade the processor or mobo if possible. Any suggestions would be great! Any tips on how to make it all work together would be great as well. ie: is it possible to stream/record with one machine and edit/render with another, do I need a KVM, etc. Thanks! P.S. the photos are of the gaming rig.

Hey All, I'm jato. I have been here in the community for a while now and just recently started streaming on twitch. I like communicating with the chat but it's difficult when no one is there. If you want to stop by and say hi ask a tech question or watch me suck at video games here is the link. I will be doing giveaways to celebrate 75 and 100 followers, I haven't decided what to give away maybe a CS:GO skin or a game or something along those lines. So please stop by and say HI. I am on the west coast of the US my stream times will be later in the day around 7 PM (PST) Monday - Friday and then around 11 on Saturday and Sunday.

Gaming PC has a GTX 970 now. Im having an issue where i play overwatch and i have ill be playing overwatch and ill have 144fps (have a 144hz monitor and set to 144hz). i have a 2nd monitor i use to extend to multitask. If i start a youtube video or twitch stream while playing... the fps counter says 144fps but it feels like 60... when i turn the video off then go back to the game... it becomes smooth again. The video doesnt even have to be showing on the 2nd monitor. even if i just play the video and minimize while its playing my games seem to be running at a lower framerate but when i have the in game fps counter and shadowplays both saying there at 144 and no fps drops i cant help but see theres an issue. any help/feedback would be appreciated.

Hi there, I wanted to try and move a little from YouTube and start live streaming on Twitch however I don't know what the best option would be. Here are the options I have available: Option 1: Two PC setup One for Gaming and the other for Encoding Has a Ryzen 5 1600X CPU for encoding Would have to use NDI to connect my gaming PC to streaming PC (Is NDI worth it? or is the quality rubbish?) Option 2: One PC setup Using NVENC encoder through an RTX 2070S My aim resolution for streaming is 720p at 60fps or 900p at 60fps. I play quite fast paced action games as well. Any solution or suggestions would be appreciated. Gaming PC Specs: i7-6800K RTX 2070S GTX 1060 6GB 16GB 3000MHz DDR4 RAM Secondary PC Specs: Ryzen 5 1600X GTX 760 16GB 3000MHz DDR4 RAM Cheers!

Hi everybody! I would like to have a Raspberry Pi 4 quite soon to tinker around with it, and I was thinking, could it handle OBS Streaming? The usecase would be something like this: 1080p, 10fps max, 24/7 stream On the Pi 4 with 4 gigs of Ram! And if you have other usecases for a Pi4 that would be fun to try, tell me! :D Have a nice day!

Hi Linus Tech Tips guys, I am a big fan of John Bartholomew, the most entertaining instructional chess streamer. In his streams you can hear his computer fan noise from time to time, which is pretty annoying. It would be awesome to see Linus build the ultimate chess gaming and streaming rig for John! Only problem is, John claims his old pc has sentimental value ?. Would Linus and his team be able to overcome the sentiment? Youtube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC6hOVYvNn79Sl1Fc1vx2mYA Please Linus? Would make an awesome video and maybe a boost for the great game of chess! Thanks! xharx

Background Okay, so i'm about to move into my own apartment for the first time And I really enjoy streaming to Twitch on the side while I game. The place is not going to be big because it's only me so, what should I look for in a router? Main question? The internet plan we're looking at is 100/100 unless I need something better down the line? I'm mainly looking to have the capabilities to stream at 6k bit rate if I want to later. I don't think I'd need more download though but we'll see if I can find a better deal. My thoughts What i've learned so far is that I should probably have a dual band router so I can use a 5ghz connection for my wireless headphones for my phone. My computer will be using ethernet connection and then I don't think there's many more devices being connected. I haven't bought a tv or much else yet. Might buy a nintendo switch at some point but I don't suppose that matters much? Asus RT-N66U is what i've been looking at so far but I have no idea if there's some special I should be looking for in a router besides the dual band thing.

Recently I bought myself a new streaming pc: Threadripper 1920x Aorus x399 rev 1.0 Asus 1060 6 gb It did his job for the first 2 hours, then streamlabs obs crashed. I run some tests, Prime95: all cores a good Nvidia driver update: all good Driver easy update: all good Updated the bios: all good Windows update: all good Reinstalled windows, and still having the same issues. Obs crashes and its says: Troubleshooting with encoding or it shut it's self off out of the blue. Tried all kind of settings in Obs its self, but it won't work either. Did anybody else had the same problem? And did he/she found a solution for it? I really don't know what to do else anymore. Then selling the streaming rig and try a Intel version. Greetings, Greg

Alright so this one seems like a difficult problem to me but I am hoping some of you are going to say it is not a problem. Then again, maybe it could make a fun video! Background I and my Co-owner/Co-founder are trying to build a broadcasting network covering all things geeky. Much the same way ESPN covers sports or the Cooking Channel deals with food. As such we are recruiting multiple hosts to stream from multiple locations. So far issues have been minimal but, with the growth we expect to see soon, some things need to change. Currently in house (literally in my house), we have 3 pcs for streaming. Two that deal with the game play and one that handles OBS for our multiplayer games. Then when it is another streamer's turn to broadcast they simply go straight to Twitch using a streaming key. Unfortunately we have had to stop all recording at this time as our current storage solutions are full as well. We have gotten some push back from our community on this as some really good streams have been lost to the either. What I am looking for I would like a server of some kind that could (ideally) handle: Accepting streams from PCs around the world for input into OBS or a similar program Run OBS or a similar program to input overlays, and possibly multiple of these inputs at the same time and make them a cohesive stream. Much the way a news station takes input from in-studio feeds and multiple reporters. Broadcast at a decent quality to Twitch Record and save all streams Allow remote access for someone to operate OBS As cheap as possible. Unfortunately we are still very small and we are not making much from streaming so our budget is almost nothing. Suggestions I have gotten It was recommended that I simply setup a cheap computer to run an RTMP server and OBS. Possibly run that and a NAS for storage. Again my budget is very tight though so unless money drops out of the sky on me footing the bill for both is going to be very hard. Thanks to everyone who reads this and I hope we can find a workable solution together.

Was sitting in my computer science class one day and I had a idea. What if for setting up a 2 pc streaming setup the pc that would do the encoding and uploading to the streaming platform( ex. Twitch or YouTube) was a raspberry pi running a linux distro with something like OBS and using nvenc for transmitting the the stream from the gaming pc I don't know a whole lot but I thought this might be a cheap alternative but I'm open to criticism and suggestions. I also think this would be a cool Ltt video too.

Thanks so much for coming here, I am desperate. My mic is NOT MUTED. I have muted it and unmuted it an insane amount of times. NOTHING WORKS. So my buddy tested this mic and it worked. He shipped it to me and I can't get it to work now. The computer senses the microphone as an input and an output device. It senses the prerecorded sounds sent to the pc when buttons are clicked. It senses no spoken sound (I have full on screamed/yelled into the mic and absolutely nothing is sensed. The mic's volume is not turned down. I have tried every pattern, every mode that is possible. I have removed the device from Windows and I have reinstalled it several times. Almost every YouTube video has been completely unhelpful to me. As of today, I believe this is a hardware issue that may have occurred during shipping. I plan on taking the mic apart and seeing if there are any visible internal issues. Someone please please help me diagnose this issue and stop me before I make a decision I will regret when taking this thing apart. Far fetched ideas are better than no ideas. Thanks for reading! My bad mic is currently the only thing holding back my stream quality. This is super super important to me. I may not have many viewers, but I care what they see! Edit: This is a standard Blue Yeti Microphone.

I currently have a pc already and thought it was good enough but i get about a 20% frame drop rate while streaming. I am using streamlabs OBS to stream. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Current Specs: CPU: AMD Ryzen 3 2200g 4.0Ghz GPU: Zotac Gaming GTX 1660 AMP edition Ram: 24gb off brand ram running 2800mhz

Hello, I'm building my first pc and I need a microphone. I'm really a noob regarding to audio capturing, but reading online I understood that having a condenser microphone connected to a XLR interface is the way to go and way better than spending the same price on a usb microphone. I'll use the mic mainly for streaming, so I don't need nothing fancy, I want to spend the least possible and get the better value. I'll buy an arm stand with a shock mount and pop filter. My question is: what would you recommend me to buy to get a decent quality at the lowest possible price? Thank you!

I am attempting to start streaming again and have come across some issues with Crazy lag and frame dips in Stream labs OBS. These issues are new and can’t think of anything I could have done to cause this to happen. My specs are below Internet speed: 200 down 100 up Ryzen 2600x 4.1ghz MSI RX 570 8gb 16gb DDR4 Ram 3000mhz MSI X470 gaming Plus Thermaltake 650w smart PSU 120gb SSD for OS 1tb HDD for Games and media Game play is fine I am still running all games at Ultra/ High 1080p 144fps it just seems to be OBS or maybe a network issue, if anyone can help id really apricate it!

Hey everyone, I've recently built a new PC and I game and stream a fair bit. My old system could handle gaming and streaming on the same system no problems but my new and even more powerful rig feels crippled in comparison doing the same task. I've been pulling my hair out trying to figure out why my stream stutters and is not capable of 1080/720 60FPS. I've looked into everything, hardware and software until I discovered a problem with windows. My new display is 144hz and my old one which was relegated to a second screen is 60hz. It turns out windows has a panic attack if two screens at different refresh rates are running at the same time, prime example gaming on one and OBS on the other. So the moment any animation plays on the 60hz everything runs well below 60hz and stutters. So my question is how the hell do I bypass this problem without having to cripple my main screen to 60hz?

So I would like to start live streaming the games I play to Youtube. I started streaming using OBS and on my second monitor I had the chat window open. The people watching my stream said the stream was lagging and freezing although the audio was fine. I bought a cat 5e ethernet cable because I thought that my wifi was the bottleneck. I tried streaming again, but the same thing happened and I don’t know what else to do. My pc is a Dell Inspiron 3670 that I upgraded with a 400 watt psu and a gtx 1050. My pc specs are: Intel core i5-8400, Msi geforce gtx 1050 overclocked edition, 12gb ddr4 ram, 1tb seagate barracuda hdd, Evga 400 watt psu with the motherboard and case that were made by Dell. I don’t have a big budget, but I would like to know what I can do to fix the problem.

Hey! I have an issue resolutions while streaming.. So i what i want to stream in is 720p. My video settings is: Base (canvas) resolution: 1080p Output (scaled) resolution 720p Downscale filter Lanczos Advanced output stream setting Encoder - NVEC *checked* - Enforce streaming service encoder settings *checked* - rescale output - Output resolution 720p Now, everytime i broadcast on twitch i get 1080p streams, why? Shouldnt it be 720p? Also, after every broadcast my advanced settings are reset. If i inspect my settings DURING A LIVE STREAM my video setting for output jumps back to 1080p and becomes grayed out, despite that i was 720p before stream started. TL;DR - Stream resets my output resolution, cant stream 720p, no matter what i change it becomes 1080p
