Hello, I was wondering if the RX 470 can run BF1 at ultra as some youtube vids say it can but i doubt it very much but i wanted to see what you guys think? - Thanks, Jamie

My XFX RX 470 idles around 55 degrees celcius, which is way higher than any previous card i have ever owned. Under load, it only goes up to about 72 degrees celcius so im pretty sure that the fans and cooling are working normally, but is there anything i can do about the idle temps, or is it ok. The fans don't spin at idle.

Looking at parts for a future 1080p gaming PC. 7100 & RX 470 OR G4560 & RX 480 Both of the combos come out to around $450 AUD. Would the Hyper Threaded Pentium be a bad match up for the rx 480 or would the rx 470 be able to stretch its legs more paired up with the faster clocked i3 7100, therefore providing better gaming performance?
-
I have a power color single fan radeon rx 470 and even when its at 90 C the fans are at 0 rpm. I have Windows 10 Pro 64 bit, an Asus h110m-k and a core i3-6100.

I am still picking parts for my build https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/YY8TtJ, but I don't know whether to go with the lower clock speed i5 6400 and the RX 480 or the higher clocked i5 6500 and the RX 470. I'm mostly gaming , but I do a lot of random stuff like the occasional video render so I'm not sure which to chose? I could get the CPUs for 30-40 less used, but I'd prefer new, and I would have to buy a decent cooler anyway. Which is the better all around option?

Hello Linus forum, i have a question for you I currently have i3 2100 with hd6670 1gb and 8gb ram,700w PSU (with 6 pin connector for rx 470) I was wondering of upgrading my GPU finally and i am stuck between 1050ti and rx470. Since my CPU is on the lower end of the spectrum i was wondering if its worth getting rx 470 or will it be too bottlenecked to have any significant difference between the two GPUs. Mind also that price difference in my country is almost 50$ (48$ do be exact >.>) so will that price difference be justified or am i throwing my money into the water with rx470. Final two notes: I am not able to change my CPU in AT LEAST 6 months (maybe even more), and i am not hoping to change PSU since i purchased it not so long ago. Any thoughts are welcomed and thanks for reading and replying if you do Peace my Linus friends

Hello! Do RX 470 8gb and I3-6100 bottleneck? If yes, which gpu would fit such cpu? Thank you

Hello linustechtips forum members, I wanted to upgrade my pc soon with a 250€ budget and wanted to get you'r opinion on what I should do. So the things I wanted to do where these: 1. Get a new Graphicscard 2. Get Trackhat 3. Drop any bottleneck I can The Graphicscards I have looked up for that price are: Radeon RX 480 8GB: https://www.mindfactory.de/product_info.php/8GB-PowerColor-Radeon-RX-480-Red-Dragon-Aktiv-PCIe-3-0-x16--Retail-_1124443.html Radeon RX 470 8GB: https://www.amazon.de/MSI-Radeon-RX-470-GAMING/dp/B01JP9U51A Geforce GTX 1050 Ti OC: https://www.mindfactory.de/product_info.php/4GB-KFA2-GeForce-GTX-1050-Ti-OC-Aktiv-PCIe-3-0-x16--Retail-_1126382.html And now my System Specs: Motherboard: Asus M5A78L-M LE CPU: Amd Athlon II X4 620 (Overclocked to 3.25 Mhz) Graphicscard: Msi N570 Twin Frozr III Power Edition RAM: Transcend 8 GB Kit DDR3 1333 CL9 Powersupply: LEPA B800M Storage: 2x 1TB HDD and 1x 500GB HDD So my Questions are: 1. Is there any Bottleneck already there? 2. If I upgrade my Graphicscard, will there be a Bottleneck ? 2.1 If yes where will it be and how devastating will it be ? 3. Which Graphicscard should I choose ? 4. If there is definitly gonna be a Bottleneck, how/what should I upgrade next or what are my alternatives ? I am not so deep into this stuff as some of you guys so help is much wanted. Also I'm apoloziging for my bad english grammar or spelling as english is not my native tongue Vinci480

I just bought GTX 970 for $115, and if its more than enough than what I use it for I am hoping to sell it and get a RX 470/570, then in a years time I can by another to use my Crossfire. Any thoughts on the upgrade path. I also heard RX 470 is equivalent to GTX 970 now. Is this true? Mainly wanting to play Medium 1080p @ 60fps on Mass Effect Andromeda

should I get the i3 rx 480 (275$+125$) or the i5 and rx 470 (215$+235$). These are the prices in my country. I'm going to play AAA 1080p. The i3 rx 480 is cheaper and performes better in gaming, but come in the cost of a slow proccesor. thanks.

Okay so like the title says I am black screening when playing Rainbow 6 Seige. When this happens my monitor says "no signal" and the game closes, while the computer continues to run in the background as I can still hear my friends in Skype when this happens. The only way to get my computer back up is to fully power it down, a restart will not work. Also HDMI and DVI have the same result. Also other games like Overwatch, Civ 5, Far Cry(original) work just fine. Here is some background on my PCs situation. About a week ago, I put my GPU into the bottom PCI-E 4x slot to try and fix my BSOD issues and so far this has been the case, but a few days after that I was having major lag in R6. The lag ended up being an issue with going over the VRAM limit of my GPU so I lowered a few settings and now the game runs without any lag. EDIT: Same issue in Unturned and while watching YouTube with Overwatch in the background. More info on my PC: It has one burnt RAM slot, caused by a hair that caught fire inside in the slot itself. This is why you never let other people try and "fix" your PC... Below are the full system specs. CPU: i5 6600k @ 4.4Ghz w/ Hyper 212 Evo GPU: Asus ROG STRIX RX 470 OC 4GB RAM: 2x8GB 2400Mhz MOBO: ASRock z170a-x1 Storage: 2x120GB SSDs and 1TB HDD

If I'll buy the rx 470 g4560 will it be VERY different from an i5 7400 rx 470 in most AAA titles (1080p, 60-75Hz)? Will it run better than a ps4? Is it a good combo? How much average fps will I get? Because the I5 costs 3 times the cost of a pentium. Thanks.

Is this psu: https://www.inwin-style.com/en/pc-power-supply/list/31 (the 350 watt edition!!) enough for the i3 3240 and the sapphire rx 470 refrence edition? I'm going to upgrade my psu down the line. I just want to know if this psu can cause any damage to the parts. I have it for 2.5 years now and it worked like a charm. I won't oc everything anytime. Plus I know to reccomended capacity is 450 watt, but what's the real capacity that a trustful psu needs to power this combination?

Hello. I want to ask a few questions about my Sapphire Platinum RX 470 4G OC reference cooler card. I got this card for the same price as an 1050 Ti ( i was originally want to go with Nvidia here, but when the Zotac model [the cheapest 1050 Ti in my area] is out of stock, and seeing other brands pricing is the same as this RX 470, i said F it, Red team it is). It served me well these 2 months, 1080p60Hz is no problem, however i have a question about this card. How far can i OC it? I'm new to the PC community (i DETEST using the snobby term that is PCMR) so i'll plan to do a 1250Mhz clock speed for practice, but usually with a reference card like this what can i expect? Also i need to point out my PSU is the Corsair VS450, so if my PSU can't handle it then please let me know. My card is the middle one in the picture, by the way. Thank you in advance, and have a good day / night

Im my quest looking for a decent cheap graphics card I've come across this RX 470 thats only $120 after a mail in rebate, making it about the same price as a gtx 1050 ti while outperforming it. The only issue is I've seen some complaints about the RX 470 in question (link to card here http://www.microcenter.com/product/468281/Radeon_RX_470_ROG_STRIX_Overclocked_4GB_GDDR5_Video_Card ) does anyone here have this card and can they vouch for it? any helpful feedback would be greatly appreciated.

First, I will address the more pressing matter: The daily BSODs. Currently facing daily BSODs with my new RX 480 (Transferred from an Nvidia GTX 750ti). Research has told me to fix registry keys, so I used CCleaner to fix 97 errors. When checking the duplicate files tab, I noticed that nearly every file in AMD/Packages/Drivers has a duplicate of itself, both created at the exact same time. Is this correct? If not, how should I go about fixing it? Uninstalling AMD and then deleting leftover files? I like the AMD Cleanup Utility on their website. Grand Theft Auto V Stuttering Not sure why this is happening, but attempting to run GTAV with Very High settings causes stuttering. It usually hovers around 80fps with dips to below 60fps. I haven't tried vsync yet, but if it dips below 60 it will be noticed regardless. Before tweaking the gpu, I noticed there were several small core clock drops on the monitoring graphs during gameplay. The card spun up to its max speed (around 1150), but would frequently drop clock, like it was throttling. However, the card never exceeded 50 degrees! Memory clock looked okay. I boosted the power limit to 125% and it helped slightly, but the stutter is still pretty bad. Check my specs for the rest of my system. Any ideas? I still need to test it after the BSOD mess is cleaned up and corrected. How can I make sure all of the Nvidia stuff is out? I have a feeling by fixing the driver issues the game will likely run more smoothly. Lots of testing to do. Any help would be greatly appreciated, as I'm thoroughly frustrated with this brand new card. Thanks so much!

Okay so for months I was having GPU related issues where I would Blue Screen out to a Video_tdr_failure(This happened 1-2 times a day) and just the other day I put my GPU into the bottom pci-e slot and this seemed to fix my issue, I have only been testing for a few days but so far so good. But now when playing Rainbow 6 Seige I get random lag spikes, first thing I did was run GPU Z in the background and found my GPU was dipping to 300mhz at times so I upped the power limit to 25% and upped the temp target to 85C from 60, it still happened. Then I upped the voltage to 1150 from 1083, and then I upped it to 1165-1175 and my card no longer had an issue with the 300mhz thing. It now stays locked at 1250 when gaming but I still have this lag issue in R6. This lag happens usually at the start of a round, sometimes in the middle and it always happens on the end screen. So when this happens my FPS drops from its locked 59-60FPS down to anywhere from 55 to 25 also It can also go as low as 12 in the end screen, any fluctuation is a problem as I use V-Sync to fix my screen tearing issues. For my game settings I use a mixture of medium to very high and they run fine at 60FPS locked until my lag stuff happens. Also I have not had any issues in Overwatch or Civ 5 as these are the only other games I play right now.

TL;DR: I need a small case (detaills at point 7). 1. Budget & Location Strictly less or equal than €800. €650 ($US 688.54, $CAD 931.55, $AUD 925) for the PC. Spain. 2. Aim Gaming, light software development and general tasks. I primarily aimed towards gaming on 1080p 60FPS at least at medium settings. Games that I'm interested in are Battlefield 1, Titan Fall 2, The Division, (I think this is enough to understand what types of games I want to run on this build), and some other games which are less demanding, I think (Overwatch, CS:GO, WoT, WoWs...). I researched different types of mid-range GPUs, and RX470 looks promising (high setting 1080p 80FPS on BF1). 3. Monitors 1 monitor. No plan to add more. 1920 x 1080. 4. Peripherals The remaining €150 will be for keyboard, monitor and some other stuff that I don't know right now, like cables, cooling stuff, thermal paste... I don't need OS. 5. Why are you upgrading? The main purpose of this build is to upgrade from my 4 years old MSI GE60 laptop to a nice small desktop with a lifespan of 5 to 6 years. 6. Planned parts PCPartPicker part list: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/RxkFKZ Price breakdown by merchant: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/RxkFKZ/by_merchant/ CPU: Intel Core i5-6400 2.7GHz Quad-Core Processor ($174.99 @ SuperBiiz) Motherboard: Asus H110M-D Micro ATX LGA1151 Motherboard Memory: Kingston HyperX Fury Black 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR4-2133 Memory ($57.45 @ Jet) Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($48.89 @ OutletPC) Video Card: Asus Radeon RX 470 4GB STRIX Video Card ($191.99 @ SuperBiiz) Power Supply: Corsair Builder 430W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply ($46.99 @ OutletPC) Total: $520.31 7. Stuff that I need help First, a easy one, is this build optimal for the budget? Now my real question: I don't have much room for a desktop, so I'm looking for a compact case, mATX one. I've 2 candidates: HIDITEC SLM20 (330 x 430 x 100mm) and TACENS ORUM III (427 x 300 x 100 mm). I think it might fit, but I'm not sure. I would like to know if my build fits in these cases. Any other suggestion is nice. May use PCI riser for GPU. If it's too complicated, I might switch to a relatively small ATX size. Any suggestion is also nice. Should I add a CPU cooler or the stock one is enough? About monitor: BENQ GL2250 looks nice, opinion? 8. Additional stuff Here there are a couple of deals, Gigabyte H110M-Gaming 3 and MSI RX470 8GB, at almost same price as above. Recommended do get them? Thanks

So my XFX RX 470 is running so well. I recently upgraded my motherboard and it is very good for overclocking. I ended up getting my Amd fx-4300 up to 4.8ghz!! and it is safe, I did a 1 week benchmark and system test to insure it isn't unstable, now it runs at around 70° at full load and is pretty fast. I was wondering if it is still holding my RX470 back? I checked GTA V and it said the CPU was at 82% usage when the gpu was under full load. I assumed this is a good thing usually. I've heard the Fx-4300 is a big bottleneck cpu though.

Three days ago I bought an XFX version of the RX 470 4GB model of the card. From the first time I've installed it I have random black screens that follow up the same message "No input signal - go to saving mode" or something along those lines. I've tried everything from installing a fresh driver after uninstalling the last one with DDU , I've stopped the service called "AMD External Events Utility", I've even had a fresh install of Windows 10 but nothing seems to do the trick. I've also ramped up power limit to 8% and I've made the fans spin all the time rather than when somewhat loaded. When the screen shuts down , I can hear the computer work normally (sounds work normal, music etc.) and the GPU fans spin too. I've tried switching the "bios" on the GPU switch but to no avail. These "black screens" happen very randomly. Sometimes close to each other (two in a 30 minute mark, and sometimes 5-6 hours apart.) It's totally random. My previous card was an R7 260X and I have an CX430 80Plus Corsair PSU. The PSU is fine cause my older card runs with much more wattage due to ancient architecture and had a similar error ONCE (black screen with no message whatsoever) and I'm beginning to think that the culprit is somehow the golden plated HDMI cable or the PCI express lane. Please help me.

I ordered an additional 1 tb HDD for game storage and I have an RX 470 in a computer I don't use anymore and was gonna use that for the video card. Also I grabbed a bronze evga 500 watt PSU. Should i be all set to go?
