I recently upgraded to am5 so my specs are: 7800x3d, rx 6800, 32 GB ddr5 6000, b650 tomahawk wifi. I have had long boot times (62s) since the upgrade from a 5600x. I recently enabled the automatic and GPU overclock which requires a restart. After shutting off, the PC did not boot. All lights and peripherals are on. I have a light signalling CPU and ram error on MB. I reseated the ram and it did nothing. Unsure where to go as I cannot boot into windows so recovery mode or any sort of software stuff is not possible as it will not post at all.

So I have this post with suggestion I got suggested some overclocking stuff for my ram instead of getting new ones I added screenshots there and I will add them here for the changes I made, After I made these changes my PC restarted and now just loading I see nothing on the screen and the pc noise is louder than usual BASICALLY: I need to know do I force turn off my PC or what do I do now?? Here are the changes

Hi all, I currently have G.Skill Flare X5 32GB 6000MHz CL32 in my system. I'm adding another 32GB to the system. I have tried to find a stockist in the UK with this kit in stock but with no luck. My question is, can I use another brand as long as it has the same speed and timings? 6000mhz CL32-38-38-96 1.35v TIA P.s Mobo is in sig

ram HP Omen 25L and XMP. I AM FREAKING OUT !
ya_freezy posted a topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
Hello, a few months ago, I bought the HP Omen 25L with an i7-13700F and an RTX 4070ti, and upgraded the RAM to 32GB. I initially had issues with XMP, as it simply wouldn't activate through the BIOS. Last week, I managed to activate XMP at 5200 MT/s. Everything was working fine this morning. In the afternoon, when I turned on my PC, I noticed that booting into Windows took quite a long time. In the Task Manager, the RAM speed was back to 2000MHz. I've now set it to XMP Profile 1 in the BIOS 10 times, but the Task Manager still shows 2000MHz. CPU-Z and CMD both display different RAM clock speeds. Which one is correct? I'm even considering replacing the motherboard because HP's BIOS is simply AWFUL. Can anyone recommend a good Micro ATX motherboard with LGA1700 socket and DDR5 that isn't too expensive? The RAM sticks are 4x Kingston Fury Beast 8GB DDR5 each, specified at 5200 MT/s. Or is there anything else i could try ? Thanks in advance for any replies. -
Hi there, I have ordered these parts and most of these have arrived now. Though I just watched a video yesterday saying how the arctic cooler has clearence issues with ram and so does the case, and I’m worried that it’s not going to fit, if so, does anyone have any recommendations around a different cooler 240mm since I want it to be top mounted. list for build, keep in mind, cl36 was used instead of cl 30 https://au.pcpartpicker.com/list/Lw866D

Ive just upgraded my ram from 8gbs to 32gb and upon booting my pc certain colors would flicker green or red, I dont believe my monitor is the cause of this. I also tried updating my drivers but that didnt help with the problem .I would appreciate any help on this issue. here is some information about my pc: motherboard: b365m ds3h gpu: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB cpu: intel i5-9600KF monitor: acer vg240y the ram i tried installing : Patriot Viper Steel 32GB KIT DDR4 3200Mhz CL16

When i try to wake PC from sleep, the fans start spinning but the display and peripherals don't get any signal. I changed the ram slots being used, At first the issue was solved. But now it is happening again. Not always, but many times. It it matters, the cpu is an i7 2nd gen, with a Q67 chipset.

PC Specs: RTX 3060 Ryzen 5 5600X 32GB 3600Mhz CL18 (4*8) Asus ROG STRIX B550-F gaming MOBO Hi, I'm having a problem with my 1st and 3rd DIMM slots on my motherboard. The problem is that my PC crashes irregularly when I play games. It all started this summer and the changes that I had made to the PC before it started crashing were adding another identical 16GB kit of ram and an SSD. At first it didn't cross my mind that it had to do with the ram/MOBO. I thought it had to do with the CPU. But then later I began to think it was the GPU since my CPU wasn't running above 80 degrees and when the PC crashed the CPU wasn't being 100% utilized. When it crashed my PC still had power, but it didn't get any display and I couldn't do anything except turn it off with the power button. This made me believe it was the GPU. But then I sent the GPU in to the store that I bough it from and they tested it for problems for multiple days and couldn't find a problem with it. They said that I should check the ram, so I checked my ram sticks and they are identical corsair vengeance RGB RS 3600Mhz CL18, except the ones I had from the beginning were ver. 3.31 while the ones I added this summer were ver. 3.34. This led me to believe it was a compatibility issue with the two ram kits since they were different versions. But I also tested them individually (I put in one ram stick at a time, in each DIMM slot), every stick of ram worked but they only worked when I had them in either DIMM slot 2 or 4. When I tried putting them in either DIMM slot 1 or 3 the PC would power on but I wouldn't get any display. I googled if you could run a single ram stick in any of the DIMM slots and it said that you could. (I still haven't ruled out the compatibility issue with the two ram kits though I think it's unlikely to be the problem since I discovered the MOBO problem) I tried putting a single ram stick in DIMM slot 1 in two other PC's and they both worked fine unlike mine. I also tried my own ram stick in one of the computers and it worked fine. This made me sure that my sticks were not the problem. Then I tried putting in two ram sticks in DIMM slots 1 and 3 in my pc and it didn't boot. But when I put in all 32GB or ram in the PC it boots and all 32GB gets recognized by the computer even though DIMM slot 1 and 3 didn't seem to work earlier (This is also the ram configuration that crashes, 4*8GB). So I was wondering if my MOBO is broken somehow or if it's some sort of feature on Asus MOBOs (the two other PCs I tested in had MSI MOBOs) (Just to clarify I had 16GB of ram at first in the 2nd and 4th DIMM slot and it worked fine but then I added 16GB to the 1st and 3rd DIMM slot and my pc started crashing)

I'll make it really simple and quick: I'm completing a PC Build with a 12400f, 6750xt. I had two choices when it came to buying the RAM: 1) DDR4 32GB 3200Mhz CL18 2) DDR5 32GB 5600Mhz CL46 Both were at the SAME price (i live in italy). I bought the DDR5 CL46 one, and now i'm worried for the High CAS Latency. For almost entirely gaming and a little video/photo editing, is my DDR5 5600 C46 better or worse than a DDR4 3200 C18? Have i really made that bad of a choice or it was the better one performance/cost wise?

Budget (including currency): 200ish $USD Country: USA Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Autodesk Maya, Destiny 2, Forza 8, Cyberpunk (most intensive games / programs) Other details: Cpu: 7800x3d Mobo: MSI x670e Carbon Gpu: Evga 3080 ftw3 Nearly complete with my pc upgrade from a 3600x on a Asus prime x570e with 32gb of ram to the aforementioned 7800x3d which i will be using primarily for gaming and 3D work. Often i use up all 32Gb of ram when working in Maya, sometimes even more when working on scenes that ask for more ram leading to long load times. The questions im faced with are a few- Looking at 32gb x 2 (6000mhz CL30) now, but may buy the same kit in the future for a total of 128gb (32*4). Will the cpu handle this? Will it force me to drop my mhz to become stable, loosen timing? Should i buy slower ram like 5600mhz with looser timing and save a few bucks if thats the case? Does it even matter? Will gaming performance be that much different when going from 64gb of fast ram to 128gb of slower ram? Maya will love it, it loves ram, but what about gaming, even noticeable? Those of you who do have 128gb, whats your set up? 32*4, 64*2, 128x1. What about the speeds youre running? Hi, I want to upgrade the ram on my build but I don't know if it is worth it. Will I get more FPS/Better stability/Better 1%s if I do it? The build: Ryzen 5 3600 CPU Asus TUF Gaming B450 PLUS II Motherboard. RTX 3080 GPU (just in case) 20Gb of DDR4 RAM running at 2400Mhz The Ram I currently have installed, is a mix of old ram that I salvaged from another PC (1x4Gb 1x8Gb) and one that I bought a year ago (1x8Gb). One stick (8Gb) is limited at 2400Mhz, while the other two (8Gb+4Gb) can go up to 2666Mhz. Games that I play: GTA V/Online Fortnite Cities Skylines II Euro Truck Sim 2 Emulation (NSW, Wii, WiiU) I'm thinking of upgrading it to a Lexar 32Gb (2x16Gb) kit running at 3600Mhz with CL18 latency, that I found on amazon. (like replacing all the old sticks with these two) Thanks in advance.

Hi guys, recently I just realized that my RAM is running at 3000MHz instead of 3200MHz. However, no matter how many times I tried to set it to 3200MHz using BIOS settings and DCOP settings, I'm still unable to succeed to do it. Using basic overclocking method and some voltages offset tweaking, still unable to. Anyone has any tech tips to help me? Thanks a lot! RAM is hx432c16fb3ak2/16.

Hello , I’ve currently been having an issue where my pc can’t run like any games for more than 1hr without crashing to windows … I have an i9 13900k , rtx 4070 , Rog strix z790 e gaming wifi mob, 64gb of 6400mhz ddr5 corsair rgb ram ,… and an evga 1000w gold plus psu … whenever I load up apex legends or csgo 2 or call of duty my pc crashes to windows before the game can fully load up .. what could be the issue ? Because I’ve had the pc less than a year … I lt hasn’t done anything like this until recently within the past I’d say 3 months I can’t even play the new lethal company game for more than 30 minutes without my pc closing the game ..

I have a Gigabyte Aorus b450 wifi pro that I used for a while with an AMD 3700x and 4x8(32Gb) of RAM. I recently decided to upgrade some parts and one of them was the CPU to a 5800x, well I did the BIOS update not knowing that it could create issues of incompatibility for the RAM if I did not install the EC FW Tool prior to the BIOS update. I tried installing it afterward but had no success since it keeps failing the install. Now I can only use 2 DIMMs at a time for some reason. My only solution at the moment is to downgrade the BIOS to a previous version and with an old CPU install the darn tool and after that upgrade the BIOS once more and finally install the 5800x to make work the RAM (trying to avoid that solution if possible). Any suggestions??!!

Hello everyone. I recently bought all the parts for my AMD build, and when I checked my RAM kit I realised that it was only XMP certified. Kit used: 2x16 G.Skill Ripjaws S5 -5600MT-CL28-DDR5 Mobo + CPU: MSI Mag B650 Tomahawk Wifi. + R5 7600x Can I still use this kit to its "fullest potential?" Or do I really need to get EXPO certified ones instead? :') Thanks

My PC is old , lowend and has these following specs: Psu inplay 200 rated 800 generic power. Amd A8-7680 8gb 1600 RAM hyper x (dead) 4gb 1600 RAM teamgroup (dead) 2gb 1333 RAM idk No gpu 128 gb SSD 250gb HDD I was using my PC for some light gaming and school works for quite a long time. I love to tweak its settings and download softwares, I tried adjusting settings for ram and turning on channel interleaving and such. Just last month my pc has been encountering BSOD frequently (kernel_power) . Then i changed my psu to a slightly better one . After that it seems that my PC is good as new and running well i also reinstalled windows 10. While playing Farlight(low settings and is not a demanding game). I , again encountered a BSOD (critical process died) then my PC restarted and booted just fine. It rarely happens (at first) then I tried to troubleshoot it , I deleted AMD radeon (the launcher that i downloaded) because that is where the dump file from bosd lead me to. I uninstalled it and everything seemed fine for a few days. I decided again to experiment and shit after few days. Ive downloaded gigabyte center , and this is where the chaos started. I installed the update for amd radeon graphics driver (i believe ) as well as easy tune. I ran easy tune and it doesn't seem to work ( i also think i dont know how to use it) . After that i restarted my pc because the app says so, to my surprise my pc fans spun and lit up but it doesn't boot and read peripherals , at first i thought it was the motherboard but I asked for help on reddit and someone adviced me to check the ram and alternatively test it oneby one and slot by slot, and i did. My 8gb ram turns out to be dead, I didn't know what happened but I thought it might have something to do with the Gigabyte app center. After ive known that the 8gb ram was faulty i then removed it and used my spare old 2gb ram with a different frequency then tuen rank and channel interleaving again. Again everything was fine . My dumbass again (today) tried to update and install shits like SIV and @bios update from Gigabyte app center . My pc restarted then it booted up , then i thought maybe it wasn't the problem after all. I played farlight again and suddenly BSOD (critical process died) again and i thought it was one of those BSOD that isn't severe but no , it was , my 4gb ram is now also dead and the one that survived was the 2gb . This the current state of my PC it only had 2gb of ram running windows fkin 10. What do you guys think? I really cannot troubleshoot it and find the root of all of this (except for me lol I am theone that did all of that shit). Could it be the PSU?,Channel and rank interleaving?,Gigabyte app center?, Virus?, RAM?, or Other hardware problem? Also I cannot upgrade to an entry level or higher PC yet. Pardon my grammatical errors

Budget (including currency): $120-150 for motherboard, $20+ for RAM upgrade (i'm ok with buying used) Country: Belarus Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: No plans to play anything newer on this system, software development for now, running NAS with a bunch of docker containers and a linux vm. My MSI X470 GAMING PRO died couple of weeks before, so now i have a hand me down b350 (it's a super cheap MSI board) with ryzen 3700x from a friend (with an idea that when i get new MB i gonna sell his stuff and pay him, with no need to rush though). I'm planning to do full upgrade in about a year from now and use this mb+cpu+ram in my NAS. Right now i'm looking for two things: motherboard and possibly RAM upgrade. For motherboards i'm mostly looking at ASRock B550M Pro4, but concerned with polarizing opinions and reviews. I want to be able to overclock as much as possible for this budget (i have an NH-D15 and pretty good airflow with 5 140mm case fans). Also as it's gonna be working 24\7 (without overclock) later in NAS, better VRMs look appealing. I'm mostly concerned about ram OC capabilities (some people write that the fail to get even 3000 xmp) and bios options (as my MSI X470 kinda had a really bad bios). Also want to leave myself an option to later upgrade to 5900x-5950x (like really-really later when 3700x would be insufficient for NAS\Server use case). With RAM, i now have on my hands 4 sticks of G.Skill F4-3000C15-8GTZB (8gb SK Hynix) and 2 sticks of Kingston KHX320C16D4/8GX (8gb), with 4 sticks i'm able to run them at 3200 16-17-17-34 (tRC 55). So my question is, are there some go to bang for the buck 16 gb sticks by now so i could have 32gb with just 2 sticks and have higher clocks (as far as i understand i 3700x should be able to run with 3600+ memory). If it's much more expensive than what i have now i'm ok with what i have, but if it's like $20-30 to get from 4 sticks at 3200 mhz to 2 sticks at 3600+, i'm already gonna sell a bunch of hardware why not do a little upgrade.

4 ram stick sometimes causes windows BSOD but on boot only.
NoiD27 posted a topic in Troubleshooting
So I added 2 more rams of Team Elite Vulcan TUF 2x8 3200mhz. These are same model, die, and timing as what I have been using. I am using these on a Ryzen 5 3600, and B450 Aorus M with F64 bios. I have been experiencing a problem when sometimes BSOD will show but only when booting to windows. But when it does successfully boot to windows, everything seems to be stable. I have verified stability by running OCCT for half an hour. Running it on 3066mhz seems to eliminate the problem. I am wondering if I can fine tune the settings so it would run at 3200mhz stable. Update: Fast boot was causing BSOD. However I noticed that 1st boot is always stable, but when I restart it would become unstable. -
Hey everybody! edit: I'm so sorry for such a long post, really needed to vent this First of all I'm sorry if this is the wrong place to post this kind of thing, it's literally my first post here. I'm not sure if I need/want help at this point, just really want to vent my experience and break down what happened to get some inputs/feedback if there are any. English is not my first language so I'm sorry if I say anything silly. About a month ago I bought a 2022 Asus Zephyrus G15 GA503RS laptop on a physical IT store nearby. It came with 16GBs of RAM and an empty slot. As I was buying it, I asked the store guy to get me a compatible 32GB ram stick, and ended up getting a "Team Group SO-DIMM 32GB DDR5 4800Mhz Elite CL40" so that I could upgrade it to 48GBs. Once I arrived home and was opening the laptop to install the new ram stick, I noticed the seal was broken. I should've just stopped there and see it as a red flag, but thought maybe they just opened it to test something and didn't think too much about it at the time. (but I did take a photo just in case) The laptop came with no operating system. My intention was to run Linux on it since it's what use on my daily job, but eventually decided to install Windows just to make sure everything was working properly. At first I didn't get any issues with the laptop (was just installing stuff / setting up my environment / there was no real work load on it), but after a week or 2 I had to go to the office and finally got to use it properly. Shortly after running VirtualBox on it and get some work done, the computer froze and got some screen artifacts. There was nothing I could do, so had to force shut down. Once it came back to life I started looking for possible GPU problems on reddit, and shortly after it froze again. 590f3e.mp4 Since the laptop came with no OS, I gave it the benefit of the doubt and thought maybe I screwed up installing the drivers, and on the following days I spent some time making sure everything was properly installed. I've assembled my previous 3 desktops, have an engineering degree and my previous (still functional) laptop, a Toshiba L850 has been up a running for the past 11 years with all the maintenance (and several replaced parts) done by me, so the Tech in me tried to "solve the problem" instead of playing dumb and just returning it to the store. After double checking everything, the laptop would sometimes still crash. I disabled sleep mode since it also seemed to be an issue (it would sleep and not come back) and from time to time it would also freeze on the boot logo (before getting to the BIOS) e04209.mp4 Shortly before the 30 days return policy and since I was going to return it without the ram stick, I gave it a last shot and tried to run MemTest86 to see if there were any obvious red flags. 41 seconds into the test (booted from a USB drive, so there was on OS / drivers in play) the laptop froze once again. I then removed the extra ram stick, ran everything, and... after 2hours, it PASSED. I then went to the store and tried to explain the whole troubleshoot process, gave them images/proof and told them to consider a faulty ram stick or a faulty ram slot. I didn't find the original package for the ram stick, but I had a couple anti-static bags from HDs at home, so I did a nice package to transport it. They said something like "We can't declare it as Dead On Arrival since you already installed an extra stick, but we will send it to Asus RMA" Well... I kinda understand that I "tampered with the device", but how would I find out about a faulty slot without ever using it? Or a fault ram stick without using it? It's like buying a new motherboard, attaching stuff to it (it's what they're made for) and then have some guy saying "well, now that you changed the variables, we can't promise you anything" At the time I was like "Yeah well, whatever, just put everything I said and done on the report and send it to Asus". I'm aware that Asus only takes the "original configuration" on their RMA process, so I asked if I should keep the ram stick to myself or leave it with them. They insisted that I also keep it there, since it could be a stick problem, so they would try to test different sticks on it and also run tests on that one. The process took about 2 weeks and then I received an e-mail saying that everything was ready to be picked up at the store. Once I got there, I asked the guy (this time was actually a girl) if they could tell me the report feedback and she was like "Yeah sure, we haven't looked into it, but they usually leave a written report inside the package" I went to read it and it said something like: "Problem solved. The laptop presented some weird noise on the speakers, and they were replaced under warranty" I was speechless. Didn't they read the whole thing about the crashes and the ram? There was no double check on the report made by the store? I couldn't care less about the speakers, I never even used them and have no idea there was actually a problem or not. The "good news" is, they opened my "tampered device" and found nothing wrong with it. I then asked if they even tried to troubleshoot the second ram slot, and they were like "Oh, since it originally comes empty, Asus will not test that". So... I can now start selling laptops with faulty slots because "the empty ones will not be tested anyway", how does that work? I asked for my ram stick and the lady started looking for it (oh god) saying it had to be somewhere... it was sent without any packaging just stumbling around on an empty card box. Now I started getting really angry and trying to fight for my rights, it was no longer about "helping them troubleshoot the thing", I wanted to see something getting done. The ram stick has a life time warranty (whatever that means) so I asked if they at least concluded that there was a problem there, and the lady tells me "Well, if you want, you can leave it here and we will test it for you" Lady... You guys have been holding it for the past 2 weeks, wasn't that the whole point of leaving it here? She ended up apologizing for the whole thing, asked for 1 more week there and said they would RMA it again to Asus while trying to make sure the original report was accounted for. Any input you guys can give me on this? What are my options here? Any known policy on empty slots? How can I ask them to make sure they work since "they are unused on the original configuration"? I get the feeling I'm gonna end up with my money burned on this, they will take no accountability for the whole thing and just say "it is what it is".
