I have been making a pc recently and I bought a 500w EVGA W1 power supply to use. It had solid reviews on the store page. However. After some changes in my plans I may want to buy a rx 590 to use in my system (I was orignaly going to use an old 1060 i had but a 590 looks better). Seeing as this will reach up to 500 watts of power combined with my i3-12100f I'm not sure if it will work anymore. I can still return it on amazon, but I don't even know of any suitable replacements that won't bankrupt me. I then became more concerned after I saw people saying it might fry my components. I know this topic is all over the place but I just need some help figuring it out. tldr: Will my 500w EVGA W1 blow up? If not will it even handle my i3-12100f and rx 590?

So, my new PC is having a quite strange problem. Specs: Case: Cooler Master NR200P Motherboard: ASRock Z790 PG-ITX/TB4 CPU: Intel Core i5-13600k RAM: Kingston Fury Renegade DDR5 32GB 6000MHz CL32 GPU: AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX PSU: Cooler Master V850 SFX Gold Storage: Samsung 980 Pro 2TB M2, Kingston FURY Renegade 2TB M2 I can use it for hours, play with it the entire day without problems, voltages and wattages are perfect in stress tests. But: It is the second time that when I'm away with Windows locked, when I come back I find the PC without power and with a noise with a very high peach coming from the power supply. If I try to turn on the PC, the motherboard tells me that there is a problem with the VGA and, also, the VGA leds are off. If I remove the power by using the switch on the power supply, the noise goes away, and then, if I turn on the PC it works again without problems. I have noticed that when Windows is locked, the PC enters a "low energy" state and the keyboard, mouse and video card LEDs turn off; but this mode doesn't seem to work very well as the leds go off and on continuously (at intervals of several seconds). Could this be the cause of the problem? Or should I suspect that the power supply is faulty? I would like to avoid replacing it unnecessarily. The problem seems to be present only when I'm away from the computer and/or I'm not using it. Windows power settings are on performance mode and then the PC should not go into a sleep or suspended state, it should only shut down the display. Thank you. UPDATE: By checking the Windows event viewer, I found this log: "The Kernel Power Manager Has Initiated a Shutdown Transition. Reason: Application API" ID: 109 EventData ShutdownActionType 4 ShutdownEventCode 0 ShutdownReason 4 The event right before, is this: "User-mode process attempted to change the system state by calling SetSuspendState or SetSystemPowerState APIs." ID: 187 EventData ApiCallerNameLength 0 ApiCallerName SystemAction 4 LightestSystemState 1 I'm also attaching the OCCT chart of the monitoring of a 2.5 hours gameplay session (on Atomic Heart).

Hi All, I'm looking to upgrade to either a 30 series or 40 series card. All the ones i'm looking at have 3 connectors to the GPU. My power supply EVGA SuperNOVA 850 GM only has 2 VGA connectors listed. And I also don't have any extra 8 pin connectors in my box. I was wondering if this PSU is able to work with 3 connector cards, and how i would get the additional cable if possible. Thank you in advanced!

I recently got a cheap PC which I'm using as a budget gaming PC, everything is going great so far, except for the fan that is located in the power supply, the one it has is making a loud bearing noise and I disassembled it to add some lubricant to it but it is still making noise. I ordered a new fan from Noctua which has the same specs as the one on the power supply but the only problem is the connector, both fans have a 4 pin connector but the one on the PSU is like a CRJ Micro 4 pin connector, totally smaller than the one on the new fan and the new one doesn't fit... I was wondering if it'd be ok to just cut the old fan connector and solder it to the new fan? have you guys done this before? will it be ok? Thank you

Hi guys! I am in desperate need of your help. I am based out of Mumbai, a city which is under complete lockdown, and my PC just died on me a couple of days back. The MB shows code 00 which the manual suggests should get fixed by reseating the CPU. You must have noticed though in the video that my RAM sticks aren't lighting up either. Somehow the CPU cooler and Chasis fans are functioning now so it gives me some hope. Is there anything that I can try out without damaging the components? Please advise. Thanks in advance! hi, this is my first time asking a question here. i recently built my own PC and i am using my old GPU, gt 630 1GB and everything is fine, but i just bought a used GPU (asus AMD eah6850 1GB) and i want to test it out to see if its better than my gt 630, because it was only 20 dollars. my problem is that i accidentally bought a psu without any PCIe cables, and the AMD graphics card needs 2 6pin connectors. my psu has 2 free molex connectors, and i found an adapter that is from 2 molexes to an 8pin pci, and then another adapter that is 8 pin to 2x 6+2pin pci, so logically it would all connect fine, using the 2 adapters together, but would it be possible and run okay? i searched how many watts my PC would use with that GPU and it said only 370, and i have a 500 watt psu, so to me i think everything should be fine for now until i can afford a better psu. also the graphics card is from like 2011 so i think my 2019 psu should handle it. the specs are ryzen 5 2600x 8gb ddr4 ram asrock b450m-prof motherboard 120gb ssd 500 gb hdd 500w non-modular psu 80+ certificate zotac gt 630 1gb vram i am saving money to get the rx 570 8gb but i am just using my old one for now.

Hi! I have a question... my Corsair RM650 (2019) power supply seems to not stop spinning after moderate load. What I mean is, when I turn the computer on the fan stops spinning as expected. Then, I run something heavy, like a benchmark or equal. The fan starts spinning which is also expected. But when I close EVERY application so the computer returns to idle the fan is still spinning. Why? I’ve checked the power consumption and it’s way under the limit for fans to start spinning. Anyone knows what’s going on? Is this normal?

Hello all I just got my new PSU today, the HX1200i from Corsair. After installing it, when I turn on my PC, the PSU fan goes full blast, 3 out of 8 case fans in total spins up, my GPU fan spins up, my HDD's spins up, no post on screen. Power LED on my motherboard does light up. Doesn't matter if I use my old cables, from my HX750 from Corsair, or the new ones from the HX1200i, I get the same result as explained^. So I put my old HX750 back in my PC and it runs again - no problems what so ever. So I've requested a RMA to the retailer I bought the HX1200i from - currently waiting for answers. It's certain that I got a half dead PSU, right? I'd like to hear other opinions

hey Guys im running a core i3 7100, a gigbyte 1050ti G1 gaming ,gamemax 450 powersupply, Asus b250g strix motherboard, recently my PC completely crashed around 2 or 3 times where after each time it wouldn't boot up ,bu each time when i removed the GPU and reset bios it booted back up and then i plugged the gpu in again and it''ll boot up and work normally again. but one morning when i tried to turn on the pc it wouldn't turn ,i mean no power but the motherboard LEDs light up(i know that has different standby power supply) , this time i thougt my psu has failed and might have even burned my motherboard with it,fortunately i tried trouble shooting again today where i removed the gpu and tried again where it was the same it wont power on nut then i removed the CMOS battery and tried again where luckily it turned on but didnt boot up but on the second try it booted up and worked fine to my surprise ad then i plugged the gpu again voila it works again, remember this was a pc that wouldn't it even power on. my concern is now how i find what is faulty in my computer? or is it overheating? how can i test? is it a weak PSU or a faulty motherboard? please recommend tests to diagnose these issues.it's puzzling me, Thank you

Hello, i hope i can have a clear answer on what i should do so i can enjoy gaming peacefully without worrying things might happen and ends up destroying my pc, so long story short my pc shuts down sometimes when i'm gaming, usually it happens when i play games like sniper elite 4 or R6 Siege for almost 3 or 4 hours straight then it goes back on itself like nothing happened, no warnings no anything, and i'm using an Automatic Voltage Regulator, sometimes it also happens the moment my regulator making quite loud buzzing noises (it happens randomly), i searched up about the problems and most people said it might be a faulty power supply or the regulator since it made unusual noise, i'm wondering if i should replace my power supply or stop using the regulator or is it better to do both? P.S: it doesn't happen when i do normal usage such as browsing and stuff, and my power supply came with the casing so it doesn't have certification like 80+ or brand as good as corsair and stuff Specs: Intel Core i7-2600, Colorful GTX 1050TI, 16GB RAM, 1TB HDD

So a couple of days ago I had an ASRock B450M Pro4 and a EVGA 500BR 80+ PSU and everything was going good until I opened the side of my case and a molex connector touched a heatsink on the upper left hand side of the mobo, it then proceeded to spark and it turned off. After this happened I tried to turn the pc back on and it did, but I turned it back off from windows. After I did this it wouldn’t turn back on no matter what I did, the power button wouldn’t work and the pc wouldn’t turn on. I thought at the time it may have been the motherboard because after the freak out I had I tried the paperclip test and the fan turned on the PSU. So I ended up shipping my motherboard back and ordered a new one. I now have a MSI B450M Pro-VDH MAX and I’m still having the issue where the board isn’t getting any power. I probably jumped the gun yet again but I ordered a 550w Corsair PSU And I’m hoping that this fixes the problem but while I’m waiting for that I figured I’d try and see if there’s any way to fix it in the mean time.

Hey guys, im on a really strict budget of 13000 INR im planning on building this pc just for normal use such as watching movies/live streams, web browsing, using adb/fastboot commands etc.. Athlon 200ge MSI a320m A pro max 4gb ddr4 2400mhz crucial Haven’t decided a case or psu. this adds upto 10000 INR im looking at this psu currently called artis 400r plus Artis VIP400R+ 400W SMPS/Power Supply Unit https://www.amazon.in/dp/B01J7NDQ7O/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_TZ9XEb7EHXCJA im wondering if this power supply will be safe enough for this build. i know i shouldn’t be skimping out on the power supply but in this case I really do not know what to do.

I'm trying to upgrade my system so i can as soon as b550 comes out i can grab Asus strix board and some other stuff but im not sure if there is a specific layout of power supply I should get because i know i' m gonna need an 8 +4 pin connector for the CPU but i'm not exactly sure if that falls into a power supply category or what ? Basically i need help picking a power supply that is 600 whats + is fit for an ATX build and must have a 8 +4 connector for cpu power. (it doesn't need to be modular and I don't mind ketchup and mustard cables although preferably i wouldn't have them) If you can help that would be great because i'm a little lost. Thanks in advance

Hi everyone, I apologize if this is a common question or is a stupid question but I want to know if my PSU will be enough to handle my system with a 2080ti or possibly an ampere card when they release. First of all, my PC: I7-8700(non k) seems to draw 80w max Z390 aorus ultra 16gb 3200mhz Trident z RGB 970 Evo plus 500gb 860 Evo 1tb 4x RGB fan EVGA 650gq 80+ gold(648w on 12v rail) GTX 1070 (for now) I don't know what my current system draw is under load until I get a meter for it so I can't really guesstimate what it would be with a 2080 ti. Using my brain and wattage calculators it seems that with the 2080 ti, my system would draw on average 500-550 watts so in my mind it seems fine, but I wanted to ask people that more than likely know more than me about it first before I buy anything. Tldr: is a 650 watt psu enough to handle my system with a 2080 ti with enough headroom to be safe from spikes Thanks

I just got a new power supply for my Dell optiplex 3020 and the 4 pin cable hole right next to the cpu is flipped compared to the one on my power supply. Is there an adapter I can use to help fix that? 61048738935__57734A5E-694A-4006-A7EA-BC1C50F0E8C3.MOV

So I'm looking to upgrade my current power supply to something preferably around the 750w area. I've heard Corsair's RMX series is pretty good, but I was wondering if there were any other options. For example, the Seasonic Focus GX 750W. Whats the best value PSU that performs reliably, that will last me a long while?

I’m building a pc and my estimated wattage is 660w. But I’m unsure on what wattage to get and the efficiency. I’ve been looking at seasonic prime-tx 1000w titanium. But it’s been sold out for a good while.
