About 2 weeks ago I noticed stuttering in almost every game I play. Before then, there was no stuttering at all. Almost every 5-7 seconds my game will stutter. I have tried to find help online but nothing has seemed to work. I have already: updated my BIOS, uninstalled and reinstalled drivers, ran a RAM diagnostic test (which said no errors), fiddled with PSU cords, and adjusted nvidia control panel settings but nothing has worked. If anyone has any idea how to fix this issue please let me know. Here is a list of my specs: CPU: Intel Core i5 7600k (not overclocked) MOBO: Asrock Z270 Extreme 4 LGA1151 GPU: EVGA GeForce GTX 1070 FTW PSU: EVGA Supernova 650 W 80+ Gold RAM: 2 pairs of (2x4) 8gb DDR4 2400 sticks HDD: Western Digital 1TB 7200RPM SSD: Kingston 250GB Monitor: Acer 144hz 1080p

So i've been really intrigued in wanting to get an ULTRAWIDE Monitor for my PC setup. I've been looking at quite a few options. Asus PG348Q In-Plane Switching (IPS) Technology HDMI + DisplayPort Inputs 3440 x 1440 Resolution 1000:1 Static Contrast Ratio 300 cd/m² Brightness 178°/178° Viewing Angles 5 ms Response Time 1.07 Billion Colors Built-In USB 3.0 Hub Acer Predator x34 DisplayPort + HDMI Inputs 3440 x 1440 Resolution 100,000,000:1 Dynamic Contrast Ratio 300 cd/m² 178°/178° Viewing Angles 4 ms Response Time 1.07 Billion Colors Integrated Speakers G-Sync Technology Alienwware AW3418DW Adaptive-Sync Technology NVIDIA G-SYNC Features USB 3.0 hub Panel Type IPS Aspect Ratio Widescreen - 21:9 Native Resolution WQHD 3440 x 1440 at 120 Hz Pixel Pitch 0.2325 mm Brightness 300 cd/m² Contrast Ratio 1000:1 Response Time 4 ms (gray-to-gray) So all of there are within only a few hundred bucks each. Also all of these are IPS and all have G-sync. Can anyone give me some ideas of which would be best to look at or? Thanks

I am having network issues while gaming. I play fortnite, yes I know it’s a bad game, but, I play around 30-60 ping which very reasonable for fortnite but sometimes while playing it feels laggier than my ping shows. For example while playing I may have 30 ping and sometimes it feels super delayed but also sometimes it feels very snappy and minimal delay. So basically I am trying to fix the issue where it feels more delayed than it should be. I do get packet loss sometimes( I also need help with this if anyone could help) but the issue mainly occurs while I get 0% packet loss. Any help is greatly appreciated as I have no clue what to do to fix it. details my pc is only 6 months old. (I7 8700, gtx 1660 ti, 32 GB RAM 3000mhz, I play with a cat8 Ethernet cable (supposedly, that’s what it said when bought it from amazon) my download speed is 20mb/s and upload is 2mb/s, I know my Internet isn’t very fast but if this was the cause of the delay then my ping would show higher than 30-60ms.

Hi LTT forum people! I'm having issues with old games. First of all, my specs: CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 (stock) GPU: GTX 1660 SUPER OC Gigabyte (stock) RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 3200MHz MoBo: MSI X570 A-PRO Storage: 2x SSD, 1xHDD OS: Windows 10 Home version 1903 With this build I can play latest game at 1080p without any problem at medium, high and also ultra settings. For example, I'm playing Assassin's Creed Origins at 1080p Ultra settings with no lag. Yesterday I've installed Ryse Son of Rome and at 1080p I've some massive fps drop, from 60 fps to 45-50 when I move the visual. Same thing with LA Noire. I tried everything, disabled Game Mode, closed MSI Afterburner, turned off Wi-Fi and Antivirus. I've also disabled the CFG feature from Windows Security panel. Nothing. FPS still drops. Any suggestions? Thanks! (Sorry for my english, I'm Italian)

The Military sim, "Squad", looks pretty intriguing, especially since I have friends that would play it with me. I'm not to sure how it would run, though especially since it's not very popular. I have a "budget" type PC and setup, but I still manage to get decent performance on most new games. I currently am running: I7 3770 @ 3.4 Ghz GTX 750Ti 2GB DDR5 8GB DDR3 Thanks for any feedback regarding my possible performance. P.S. I'm looking to really get 60fps in 1080p.

Hey LTT community. I needed a little bit of help regarding Far Cry 4. I installed the game for the first time from Steam, connected with Uplay, started for the very first time and the campaign starts very differently. I move a little bit and my WASD stops responding. I can still use the keyboard and use other keys, but WASD won't work. Even a little help would be appreciated. PFA the video of the same. Sorry for bad quality video as I recorded with OBS to keep the size below 20MB. My PC: AMD A8 7600 @ 4.2Ghz Radeon R7 7600 (iGPU) Corsair Vengeance 8gb (1866mhz) WD Green 1tb AMD Driver version: Crimson 16.7.3 I know my PC specs are not recommended for FC4, but I just wanted to check out how my system currently performs on this game. Planning to upgrade to RX480 soon. fc4.mp4

PC and Console war argument, Developers ruining games So I bought and Xbox one recently so I could play with my friends and enjoy some exclusives (Forza). I would love a PC and I could afford one but not the one that I want, A lot of people say that you can get a better experience on a budget PC compared to what you can get on a console which is true and false. Consoles have the problem where the games resolution is too low and it looks blurry and that is how it can achieve the stable FPS or it has great graphics and sub 30 FPS. And the same occurs if you get a PC for the price of a console you have too lower the graphics to console level to run a good frame rate if you get a budget PC you are wasting money you will spend more money upgrading it and not using the parts you started out with to enjoy PC to its full potential they way everyone brags about Great graphics higher frame rate is crap unless you actually have a large amount of money. Iv'e built at least 5 PC'S for friends and family but not one for myself iv'e played on high end and low end machines. So basically what i'm saying is that PC sucks just as much as people say console does unless you spend a lot of money. In the future component manufacturers will make more cost effective and more powerful components like the rx 480 and the gtx 1060 so everyone can enjoy PC even on a budget. So people with budget PC's cant go s****ing on console when their experience isn't that much better. Anyway I like both i'll get a PC when I can actually enjoy it too its full potential, This whole idea came into my mind when I saw battlefield 1 on xbox one and PS4 compared to PC, developers try to make their games with better graphics but it can make the games even less enjoyable for example battlefield 4 on xbox looks good and its plays well on xbox, battlefield 1 looks like sh*t and I would assume plays like trash why cant developers strive to make a more stable and enjoyable game like battlefield 4 with a mix of both graphics and game play. Dice should keep the consoles looking like BF4 and not change the graphics any better and just work on making the game better I played BF4 on PC and xbox and it not a doubt looked better on PC so they should make the better graphics avialibe only on PC and they should stop trying to push the consoles becuase in the long run it just ruins them. I hope you all can relate or if you disagree please explain why don't be hostile and start arguments in the comments. Thank you !

Hey guys, I am wondering if I should cap the frames per sec for my games. I mainly play online FPS games, such as Battlefield, CSGO, Overwatch, etc. I occasionally play other types of games such as Starcraft, some racing games, and single player FPS games (Crysis 3, campaigns of BF, COD, etc). I mostly run games at high refresh rate, 144+. Is capping fps helping my game plays? Or does it not matter? Or does it actually make it worse?

I haven't bought any components get, but here's what Im thinking atm: Intel core i5 6500 Gigabyte GA-Z170-Gaming K3 HyperX Fury DDR4 2133HMz 16GB Black NZXT S340 Black and Red Corsair RM750x 750w Rx480 or GTX1060 Frostflow 240L Already got a 500GB 850 samsung SSD, but I also think I might buy a HHD låter on as well. Is this a good build, is anything over/u under the top, should I buy a whole different component? Please comment below?

Hello Got my self a first world problem. I have a PC, Xbox, PS4. My gaming friends are scattered across all these platforms. So when I play the Division on PC, all my friends are on PS4 / Xbox. I know cross platform play is happening with a few select games, just none of the games I play. My next thought was to buy the game on two different platforms. Well that is expensive and not practical. Other than bribing my friends to play on the platform I am on, how do I solve something like this?

So about 6 months ago i came across LinusTechTips. I was watching it on my old dell xps 400. I was immediately hooked Immediately hooked. This channel has pretty much changed my life and I have no belts 6 custom PCS for friends and cleaned up my Grandma's old PC as well as bought my friend a laptop with the guidance of this channel. the Linus Tech tips Channel literally took me from Rock Bottom nothing to do with my life no interest whatsoever freshman High School has no idea what he wants to do with his life to a kid that absolutely adores Tech and spends most of his free time tinkering with PCS and old computers. I'd like to say thanks to Linus and his team. Berkel has made me laugh in every video I've seen him in. I'd like to thank you guys for putting a smile on my face everyday and giving me something to do with my life. thank you so much you guys are Life Changers.

Recently I have tried modding in some vehicles into GTA V SM, via OpenIV. So far I have modded one vehicle into the game (the batpod, along with the simple trainer you have but the 1.32 edition). After doing the batpod (which replaced the carbon rs) I though "hmm, seemed pretty easy. How about the batmobile tumbler?" So I went onto GTASeries' video on the batman mods and got the tumbler download. I have tried to mod it a good 5 times now but can't for the life of me figure out why it doesn't work. Could you (or another user) please help with the problem? I have copied the update folder into my mods along with all the rpf crap; and replaced the dlc list. The MK2 file is definitely in their and it just wont work.

I have been thinking about this for some time now and I just need help on what games to pick for the pc. As you guys may guess now that I am new on this pc community (which I am very excited about) I don't want to try and experiment and ending up with a whole bunch of games that are'nt my taste or that I cant play because of lack of good hardware.

Hi guys, So first of all let me say I am not that tech savvy, at least I know what each competent is for, but with regards to models, numbers, performance and compatibility etc etc I am an amateur to say the least. I have read a great deal of forum posts from various places and I think I'm getting an information overload around this particular subject and price range. My head hurts a little. I'm looking to spend £600 (GBP) on a gaming rig, I need the base machine of course and I need to factor in a Monitor on top of that, I already own a m&k and speakers. I do want to be able to play some newer games at medium-high settings comfortably and potentially stream games too. (maybe streaming isn't doable and I'm way over my head, but I guess it's worth asking). Also with Black Friday right around the corner am I likely to get better prices on tech stuff, even being in the UK it seems to have made it's way across the pond (Cyber Monday ?) in which case what sites or companies offer deals usually. I appreciate this is a lot of questions, so I do appreciate any and all info and your patience!

Hello everyone! I am building my first PC where I personally buy each individual part instead of letting the Builder buy them, to ensure they are exactly what I want and to reduce the long-term cost, so that the Builder only needs to be paid for the Labor. The thing is, I have a very specific illness that makes Computers much more important to me than they otherwise would be, not to mention that I do not have the money to get these kind of parts. I do have the money right now so cost isn't a problem, but the RAM is the only component that I will be able to further upgrade this year. The rest of the party really need to be the Best of the Best and as futureproofed as possible, because this is it for a good, long while! So to that end, I put a list together on PCPartPicker. I think this is pretty well futureproofed and my Builder agrees, but I was hoping you guys could give me your opinions too? So there is less chance of wasting money on any one part? Here: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/TQQYMp My main concerns are; 1) Is the CPU Cooler good enough for Overclocking EVERYTHING in this Rig? I were with the H110i GTX just because it is a straight upgrade of my current Closed-Loop Liquid Cooler, but I have heard just as much about the Cooler Master Nepton 240mm, the Swiftech H240-X, and the Noctua NH-D15 coolers. I don't want a Custom Loop right now in the slightest, so what really is the best Closed-Loop Liquid Cooler available? 2) Is the DDR4 DRAM that I picked worth the upgrade from my current 32GB DDR3 RAM? Is DDR3 compatible with the Asus ROG RAMPAGE V and the Intel 5960X Extreme? The reason that I am asking this is because I would really like the upgrade to DDR4, but this Summer I'm going to get the Corsair Dominator Platinum 2600MMHz 128GB C14 Kit, so I am wondering if you 64GB 2800 C14 Kit would be better to just go ahead and get instead so the aforementioned upgrade would be easier? Or should I just wait altogether and just straight-up go for the 128GB Kit when I have the money for a singular purchase? 3) Is there anything better than the Logitech Z906 if I am going for a Surround Sound System with a Headphones Jack? I use my Sony MDR-1A Headphones tons more than the actual Speakers unplugged for everyone to hear, so a Headphone Jack is absolutely crucial! Thank you for reading! Please give me any feedback you have?

Yesterday, I got a new HyperX cloud headset, and immediatly I noticed a constant very slight crackling, popping noise whenever something is loading. There is no noise when the pc is idle, but when I open a new tab, or do almost anything, the crackling noise returns. This is overshadowed by a larger problem, and that is when I play certain games, there is a constant buzzing noise that makes it unplayable. The noise onIy affects certain games, like GTAV or EU4, but not games like Shovel Knight, or Super Amazing Wagon Adventure.( I haven't tested all my games yet.) don't think the headset is the source of the problem, as when I plugged them into my phone, there was no crackling or buzzing noise. So far I have tried updating realtek drivers, changing pc power source, and basic cleaning of cords, jack etc. Specs: OS:Windows 10 x64 CPU: intel i5 3570k quad core GPU: Radeon r9 270x 8 gigs of ram Sound card: Amd high definition audio device(?) Thanks in advance, and let me know if I forgot to put something here.
