1st pc build Last opinion before I order the parts.
Escanor posted a topic in New Builds and Planning
Budget (including currency): 1300 euros Country: Greece Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: AAA game titles on 1080p and esport titles Other details https://pcpartpicker.com/list/gYCdk9 I am looking for a last opinion before ordering the parts. This is my 1st pc build ever and even after all the research I did I am not 100% sure. Please let me know if you think something is not compatible or if you have some other suggestion. Thanks -
Recently, I bought a new monitor that runs at 1440p and 144hz. My current pc can run 1440p fine, but struggles to reach the refresh rate in newer games. So If someone could help with what parts I should upgrade to that would be great. For context, my budget for upgrading is around $800 and I'm fine with buying a used gpu since they're alot better priced. Current Specs are: B450 asrock steel legend atx board Ryzen 3 3300x with a vetroo v5 cooler EVGA Hybrid Gtx 1070 ti 16gb of ddr4 3200mhz ram

Hey guys, I pretty new to pc building and I'm planning on building a new pc. I've found the parts but I'm not 100% sure about the compatibility and how well they will run together, I'm mainly concerned about the motherboard. Also just to note, I'm not planning on doing any overclocking except from running the ram at its advertised clock speed so that's not an issue for me. Let me know if there are any problems with the parts list. Thanks PC Parts: Case: Corsair 110R Gaming Midi Tower Motherboard: MSI B450-A Pro Max CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 3.6GHz CPU Cooler: CPU Stock cooler Storage: Samsung 970 Evo Plus SSD PSU: Be Quiet System Power 9 600W GPU: rtx 3060 12gb RAM: G.Skill Ripjaws V 16GB DDR4 RAM (3200MHz)

I don't have any other good choices, the 750w versions are beyond my reach, so are the next step up in either brands companies lineup, Although I'm willing to save up a bit more if it's a huge step up in safety, or a decent step up in efficiency. Mostly gaming, maybe some nightly mining. 3060ti (200tdp) and intel 95 watt chip of some kind. Also I might mine on the 3060ti at 125watts or so. Thanks for reading

So I'm thinking about building a pc with ryzen 5 3600 and it costs about 200€ for me and I'm on a tight budget so I found a ryzen 5 3600 CPU for 156€ on Aliexpress and with a lot of good reviews. Should I spend more or take the cheaper option? Or should I just go with ryzen 5 2600 170€ or ryzen 3 3100 175€. I'm gonna use this pc for gaming and content creation.

1. Budget. $1400-$1700 USD. This is for a full pc setup. Monitor, mouse, keyboard and OS need to be factored. See Aim for more info. I live in Florida. The closest Microcenter is a 7 hour drive. ***I can receive education discounts because of my job as a high school teacher. 2. Aim: I would describe usage in computers as a professional designer with an emphasis on photography. I use a lot of Adobe software for creative content and I need a workhorse. I am wondering if a pc will be better suited for desire to have a faster editing time and I would like to see what type of desktop I can get with your help. I would love to game but that is a luxury and not necessary for the first build. Upgrade paths are an attractive aspect of building a pc. I am a hardcore laptop user. I come from using MacBook Pro for over 10 years. My previous model (early 2015 MBP) was killed by a clumsy coffee spill. The estimate of the repair was between $1400-$1700 usd which is where I found my budget. That amount of money I know can go a very long way in the pc world. I found a pretty good laptop that meets my requirements. I recently started following LinusTechTips and I thought this would be the perfect place to find the right people to help me. Target specs: 32 gb of ram. I don’t need a lot of storage, I plan to use bluray and external drives for work storage. A motherboard with multiple pciExspres slots would be nice, adding more 3.0 usb for the drives later. Probably a new AMD cpu. A middle to low end gpu, necessary for some of my work but games are only a 2nd priority. I do light video editing but nothing that would require a serious component. Older generations are worth considering I think because I am coming from a laptop I am use to a machine that won’t game. The monitor is a higher priority than gaming. This pc should be designed for work and be upgradable to gaming (2nd monitor, new gpu) 3. Monitors. This might be the hardest section, it is for me. There are too many options. I plan to eventually upgrade to at least 2. One for work and one for gaming. The first need to be 1440p at the minimum and ideal for image editing. HDR would be nice. The monitor for my pc is more important than the GPU. A good comparison are the Mac screens. I have been spoiled by pretty displays and expect to have that in my pc. Used is probably a good idea? I don’t know. Basically, the best monitor that makes senses for the pc being spec’d out. 4. Peripherals. I need a mouse, keyboard and windows, nothing fancy but nice. The bar is a good laptop like a ThinkPad Carbon or Dell Xps 5. Why? I destroyed my old laptop with water damage. I would like to know what I could get with the same money to fix it. Used and older generation parts are encouraged with advice on where to look an what to do in the used world where possible. Thanks a million for the help, I am overwhelmed by the amount of choice going into this!

I'm working on making a computer for my friend who has honestly done way too much for me than I could be thankful for. However, I digress. I need a set of optimized parts in which can get value per dollar. However, I'm not looking for a tight budget; I have some liberty when it comes to price. I mainly want to make a good gaming pc that can play games such as: -Minecraft (moderate/heavy mods and some shaders) -Fps games (Apex, etc) I also want these games to be able to play at moderate and maybe high settings at a base of 75fps. I also am looking for a pc that can host servers (mainly minecraft), and can run games while having discord and other applications open For this, I thought that higher speed ram at 16gb with a "tanky" graphics card and 3rd gen ryzen. Check it out: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/G_Fuel/saved/mNGp8d Any adjustments I need to make? I'm honestly wasn't 100% sure with the graphics card, as I want great power, and my rtx 2080 super is treating me amazingly. I also have a slight bias towards Rog products, although I'm open to objection. I need help soon, as I wanna get these pieces around cyber monday for some possible good deals. Thanks in advance.

So I got a free pc and I am very budget minded, the use for my pc is 1080 to 1440 gaming. Hey there! I was rummaging around my attic and found some old PCs my family had stored there. I'm not too knowledgeable but I was wondering if someone with more expertise would be able to help me appraise them and see if there is anything worth Salvaging. There are three systems and they're pretty old so I don't expect to be able to salvage much out of them. After a quick glance, what I could see might be potentially worth saving are some HDDs, and maaaybe an i3? Could someone help me figure out what's worth saving and some potential uses for the salvaged pieces? System 1: Dell OptiPlex 790 Windows 7 Pro OA Intel core i3 500GB HDD Western Digital (pictured) System 2: Dell XPS 420 Windows Vista Intel core 2 Duo x2 Western Digital 320GB HDD There was a 3rd pc but I just grabbed the HDD out of that, it was the oldest of the three and didn't look promising but i'll attach a picture. Also found an old Nvidia GPU (can't tell what model, picture attached) TLDR: Found some old PCs, wondering if any of the parts are worth saving/selling? Need help appraising. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated, I'm excited to learn something from you guys about this. Regarding possible reuses, any suggestions are welcome! If we do figure out what I can save, I can then separate/repurpose those, but i'm wondering how best to dispose of the left over scrap? Cheers! - Maze

Hey Guys, I'm new here and new to pc building as well. I've been meaning to build my own pc but I lack the resources to do so. Just recently I found my aunt's pc when she told me to clean up her attic and she agreed that I could have her old pc. I don't know if this pc is good for gaming or it's even good at all because it's a very old pc. It still has the sticker from the store my aunt bought it from way back in 2009. It has a core 2 Duo E7400 with no graphics card in an ASUS P5SD2-VM motherboard, 80GB of HDD and 1gb of ddr2 kingston ram. Is this pc worth upgrading? If so what upgrades should I be considering since I want to game on this pc. I'm still a student so my budget is very limited if I were to upgrade. I haven't played games on it because I don't have a longer Ethernet cable because I'm in a dormitory and we only have wifi available. What do you guys think? Your feedback is very much appreciated
