So I am planning a build for after I am out of college. its going to be for 3D modelling and animation as well as gaming (but mostly for the 3D work) I will be running 2x 4K screens (undecided on which screen I will get seeing on how fast things change) https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/CFRQ4C it will have a custom water cooling loop for the Graphics cards and CPU (that's why they are FE) I am not concerned with price at all, this pc will literally be what makes me money, the faster and more overkill the better.

So I was wondering what would happen if a lot of HDDs were connected in a RAID 0 and were to be used as RAM for a computer. A RAID 0 should increase the read/write speeds of the drives so it should be able to match some DDR3 speeds with about 50 drives. I know it is ridiculous overkill but in concept would it work? would a software or hardware RAID be needed? I think it would need to be connected with multiple thunderbolt 3 cables to start to match RAM speeds. This is my first post, so I hope i'm doing it in the right place.

Many of us propably seen builds meant to be for gaming purpose and are built on 2011 socket with 32GB RAM and 4 card in SLI or CF. Many propably go "WOW!!!" and some (like me) go "WTF is wrong with you?". Other example can be a 1000W power supply for a i3 and GT620. I understand big ass rigs build for work purpose where power is needed or to brake records in OC and benchmarks, but buy a rig to just showoff and never use more than 30-50% of its power? What are your thoughts on overkill builds? Note: Put on General discussion due to nature of the topic.
