I've recently re-installed Windows just to clean some stuff out, keep my Drives and PC fresh. I setup Windows as I normally would and... I have no audio. Windows isn't recognising my headphones as being plugged in, yet they are. (My headphones do still they work I tested them on a sperate computer). My speakers work, it's just my headphones not being recognised as being plugged in. I tried to uninstall then install the AUDIO Driver again and that ended terribly because I've somehow got myself in a Driver Loop. I go to install the driver and it tells me I need to uninstall, (which the wizard does) then install it again. So I follow the steps, let it uninstall it. Restart my PC and it comes up again, Uninstall then reinstall over and over in a loop. Any help is appreciated, thanks. https://gyazo.com/8d3483f80402ff85f97e3c47fb6c7f3d DxDiag.txt

I was playing Battlefield 4 when I got a BSOD. After my computer restarts, I boot up BF4 only to find no sound. I didn't find a solution online after an hour of searching so I reinstalled it, and it worked. Since then, Battlefield has crashed twice, once from an unstable overclock (reinstalled it again), and once because something fell and hit the switch on my surge protector (IKYN). I don't feel like reinstalling the damn game, so does anyone have any idea as to why the sound won't work? All of my drivers are up-to-date, and the sound works for everything but BF4.

i just downloaded far cry 5 and everything works fine except for the sound. I can hear the dialogues and the subtitles don't work but i can hear gunshots (background noise). How do i fix this?

Recently cloned an old hard drive to a new SSD and got it booting windows 7 again. Great, but had no sound. Tried installing new drivers to no avail. Tried the troubleshooter, nothing. There wasnt even a playback device showing up. It's an HP laptop so I tried downloading the HP support assistant to see if their hardware detection could save me, but it told me I had no speakers or microphones installed. Went to device manager to see what was happening and tried updating the driver there, didn't work. Deleted the driver and I guess I accidentally deleted the entire audio capability? No audio category shows up anymore in device manager. Is there anyway back from this?

So I have this pc I am repairing to turn into my main rig. However, I have noticed that none of the audio jacks work, even the ones on the back. At first, I chalked it up the drivers needed to be updated, it is a good time to note that whenever I ran troubleshoot for the audio it said for me to restart to install drivers, did that, it did nothing. I ran things like slimdrivers and no audio drivers needed to updated. then I thought "Hey I have an extra front panel bit ( this is the USB ports and audio jacks in the front) what if it is just this piece of hardware. I switched them out, nothing. at this point, I have no idea what is going on. not even windows recognizes anything I plug into the audio jacks it just keeps saying that there is no audio output device. I do have a digital audio output but I don't know if it works. the pc doesn't have an HDMI port only VGA ( which sucks because the monitor it shipped with supports HDMI). I do have 2 PCI-E x1 slots and 1 PCI-E x16 slot ( I wanna save the x16 for a graphics card). anyone have any advice, fixes, or anything that could help, please help me out here

My Blue Yeti Blackout was working fine but now suddenly windows no longer picks up the audio, i've tried different cables, restarting pc, deleting and reinstalling drivers, different USB ports. It works on my laptop but not my desktop. device is set to default recording device everything is turned up to max volume on it in hopes that it would be picked up. currently running windows 10 version 1803. It was working on it previously but suddenly it is not now.

When I import .MTS files into Premiere Pro, there is no audio to go along with them. I've seen a lot of supposed fixes but none of them seem to work. I've tried copying all the camera files to the PC, importing directly from the camera etc. But with no success so far. One thing I tried seem to half fix the issue, it was to change the name extension from .MTS to .avi and then install the K-Lite Codec Pack (https://www.download.hr/download-k-lite-codec-pack-full.html), and that gave the videos audio but it is just large amounts of static with some barely audible sound in the background. The only thing that does seem to work would be to use Handbrake or similar to convert these files to .mp4, but after 30 minutes of sitting in front of Handbrake with it barely scratching the first file, even with my decent i7 CPU, I gave up and decided to look for other, much for practical solutions. I'm still struggling to get my head around how programs like VLC Media Player, Vegas Pro, and even Windows Media Player handle these files fine but Premiere does not. Any ideas or suggestions with this? Thanks.

Hey guys, so I'm currently using a HyperX Cloud headset with my desktop and it's been working fine so far until this morning. What usually happens when I plug my headset into the audio jacks is that a secondary program comes up (I can't remember the name but it was maroon in colour) and it asks me to confirm whether I want the incoming and outgoing audio to go to the headset or the computer monitor. Well I accidentally pulled the headset out and when I plugged it back into the jacks, the program didn't come up (this has never been an issue before). So now I'm left with no audio on my PC at all. Additionally, my headphones aren't showing up in either playback or recording devices for sound even while plugged in. I've tried restarting my computer multiple times, and even tried to update drivers for the headset/sound card, but it says everything is up to date. I've also tried using the headphone jacks at the back on the computer and the secondary program still doesn't show up. The end result is the same - the headphones aren't showing up in either the playback or recording devices tab. I've confirmed that the headset works on my phone and my laptop, and I've tried my secondary cheapo phone earphones on my PC as well to no avail. I'm wondering how I should go about fixing this. I'm not a super tech savvy person but I can follow instructions and I haven't found any solutions to my issue at the moment. Any and all help is much appreciated, thanks!

Hey guys, so yesterday the audio stopped going to my speakers on my Acer XB271HU. I've had it for about 3 weeks, and it has never been any problems, but yesterday all of a sudden it stopped working. I have changed the monitor as the standard unit, and when I play audio I see the green sound-bar go up and down, but no sound comes out. I have tried to up the volume on the monitor itself, and it is at the default value of 70. Audio works through my headphones. I'm using a display port. I have also tried connecting my pc to my tv via hdmi, which works as normal. Any suggestions? I find it so weird that it stopped working out of nowhere, when it was working fine earlier yesterday.

Hi, i just got my hands on new Auros X7 pro and was hooping to play battlefield by now, but there has been a issue with the audio in the laptop. There is a red cross on the volume icon in the task bar and it does trouble shooting when i click it. I spent the whole day trying to trouble shoot it. when i right click the volume icon and open playback devices, i see 3 unplugged nvidia hdmi devices. below are the things i attempted: 1. Installed and Uninstalled the audio drivers both from the Auros Website and the realtek website- multiple times 2. Checked device manager for driver issues, i can see 2 'high definition audio device ' in te sounds tab. ( all the drivers are updated and working properly. even the nvidia drivers, and the bios.) 3. i did a refresh of the system. 4. fully reset the system and repeated steps 1 to 3. 5. *in progress* full system reset in progress. waiting for it to finish and hopefully by then i get a solution in a reply. Specs: i7-4870hq gtx 970m sli 16 gb ram 1866 512 gb ssd + 1 tb hdd windows 8.1 please any help is much appriciated. thanks in advance

I have an Audigy FX card that I just bought. It works very well but there is a small problem. For one im using it in my dell pc so I can not connect the front port audio to the ports on the front as they are apart of the ribbon cable that goes to the motherboard. So I found an old case that I had laying around, and took the front port audio out of it. It was an older custom built cheap system that ran win xp. Anyways, the front ports are ac97. I looked online how to wire it to the card and use it but when I do that the speakers do not get any sound regardless and the headphone side of it sounds really bad. No bass whatsoever. It does try to bleed through to the speakers when I turn it up. I don't know what I can do.

so, i recently got a new graphics card for my computer. i decided to give my old one to my friend. i went to his house today to install it for him, installed it, for some reason it wouldn't display anything. i tried changing the bios to detect from pci/e and it still didnt work. but this isn't the issue. we ditched trying to put the card in, so i just took it out, plugged everything back in how it was, and now he's not getting sound. its just a bunch of static. we made sure everything was plugged in correctly, i plugged my phone into his speakers and played music, so it was not the speakers. i tried the headphone jack in the front of his computer and in the back, both didn't work. i did install a few graphics drivers previous to this issue to try to fix the gfx card issue, so i decided maybe those drivers had something to do with it, so i uninstalled them all, with no avail. i found that VGA plugs sometimes cause static/feedback to speakers? which we tried to fool around with but it didnt do anything. this never happened to him before so i don't know why it would now. He runs a basic Asus desktop that has no graphics card just the on-board one, same with his sound. I have tried going into control panel>sound to set the audio to its default and that didn't work either. could i have messed something up with the mobo somehow??

I recently bought some new toys for my gaming rig. Everything else is perfectly fine, but every time I install the drivers for the onboard sound. Windows reports that there is no audio device, or that the service is not running. Strange that the audio works just fine without the drivers. Im using an optical cable connection to my Logitech Z-5500 speakers. Specs: Motherboard: Gigabyte Z79X-Gaming 5 CPU: Intel i7-4790k Ram: Corsair Vengence Pro 16GB @ 2133 Video Card: 2x GTX 480 PSU: Corsair RM1000 OS: Windows 7 64-bit Nothing is currently overclocked.

Hi all, I have tried using the how do i send audio to elgato game capture hd from my windows pc via hdmi" article by elgato to help resolve my issue to send the audio over the hdmi. However while in stereo mix properties, under the listen tab, the elgato or the HDMI output is not listed under the drop down menu. Neither is the hdmi listed under the playback devices. Any help to resolve this issue would be appreciated. My full specs for my laptop if needed: Intel core i7-3630qm nvidia 650m 8gb ddr3 RAM Windows 8.1 64 bit Any help would be greatly appreciated or any other solution for recording the game audio and my microphone audio at the same time. Thank you in advance.
