I got this light for my case that uses a molex cable for power(I think), I plugged in my peripheral molex cable into my PSU but the cable that the light came with is the same cable, so I have no idea where to plug it into. The cable with red and white cables is the one for my new light, and the black cable is the one from my PSU. I'm not sure where to plug the one with red and white cables into. Please help!!

I have a Radeon VII that's out of warranty, I use it for animation (where that massive VRAM comes in handy). One of the fans is starting to die. I imagine there's a seized up bearing inside, it's functional, just loud as hell. It's quietest when ramped up to full speed (you can imagine I now have a very sharp fan curve). I've tried to replace the fan, but that's just not gonna happen. I've disassembled the damn thing far too many times. I've ordered a few fans, all with the proper part number, BUT for whatever reason none of them have the correct pinout. It's a 4 pin connection and so far the closest I've gotten is a 4 pin connector that's too big to fit. With all that said, how hard would it be to just replace the cooler outright? Ideally with some sort of 3D printed bracket that mounts fans from Noctua or another provider (though I have no clue which fans to use). I'm grappling in the dark here. I do have a 3D printer. I have PLA and PETG. I've seen CPU coolers used, but I worry about VRM cooling. Water cooling is out for now, this particular case is not water cooling compatible.

Okay so I have non rgb ram with heatspeaders, I do not want to remove the the heat spread as it is ballistixs. I do want to want to turn it into argb ram by 3D printing some translucent led holders and if it works do the same for fan grills. on that note what I want to know is can you custom trim argb strips and what is involved. also one last thing is it possible to add custom parts to Corsair node pro etc..., I know with an adapter you can attach them but you are at the mercy of matching there leds to yours so far it has worked ok but I would rather just make my own parts to add to the drop down to get it perfect.

I just finished my first custom loop and need help. I had to put the fans in the front so I could fit the radiator and pump/res in the case. I am wondering what the best way to go about modifying the front panel for airflow would be. I can separate the Metal from the plastic on the front panel. But want to know what would be best to cut both out. I don't want to go all the way to the edge of the panel, I just want a big rectangle hole. and I might put some kind of grating to make it look nice. Just wondering if anyone has done this or what tools would work best to cut and leave good looking edges.

I have a 5k iMac from late 2015 and I am wondering if there is a way to use it as a second monitor. It doesn't have to be ok with apple, I would be okay doing some hacking. I think this should be looked into, but I can’t find anyone trying to do this. Maybe from a lack of tech savvy people owning iMacs.

Hi all! I have been following the LTT forum for a few years now, and ever since I saw his PC mounted to the desk video on Youtube I thought I had to try something a bit more refined myself. I'm no carpenter and have no special skills but just used some basic tools from the hardware store. I ordered the parts back in Q1 of 2017, the i7 7700k had been released and the GTX 1080Ti was due to be released (I pre-ordered). I had been following Gamers Nexus and LTT on youtube for reviews of the products. I also ordered the HTC vive, my plan and dream was to get into VR gaming and still play to this day. I modified a case (a Gigabyte Sumo circa 2004 that I got from an old flatmate) and installed them and all was well. We moved to a larger house at the start of 2018, got married and got a dog. We had a voucher for a furniture company from Christchurch, New Zealand called Mocka (https://www.mocka.co.nz). They do nice kitset furniture and I told my wife I could get rid of the big ugly PC case and install all the parts into the desk https://www.mocka.co.nz/marlow-desk.html. It was my first go at watercooling (as air cooling for performance would be too limited given the internal height of the gap in the desk) and I used an EK Extreme kit to get me started, plus the GPU waterblock. This year I had to change the coolant, do some maintenance on the components and wanted to change some things about the desk, the layout, and tidy the cabling. I thought I should upload my build after changing the coolant in the loop and show the changes to the desk so people can try this themselves! Most other Desk PC's are either janky (mounting to the underside of cheap furniture) or building your own from scratch. Even if you can't get the same desk, one with similar dimensions should work (will post below). I got all the mods done before our baby boy was born, and I have been working through the lockdown so there might be a few gaps between posts but I'll try to get the photos and posts up as soon as possible. The professional photos are from Humphrey Hanley, a photographer and awesome guy: http://nohandsnoexcuses.com/. Please excuse the terrible shots from my phone that I tried to take during the build (and now). I had not planned on posting the build so not all steps have photos but hopefully none are missing.... any questions please ask me and I'll try reply as soon as possible.

Hi all, not sure what the proper decorum is about newbies coming on board, but hello from Geraldton, Western Australia! Long time LTT viewer, and with the *joy* of working from home and all that, I decided it was about time that I embrace my nerdiness and join the forum! While I was raised in the PC world, I ended up moving over to Macs due to uni and work. They've served me well, and while Bootcamp served me "good enough" to get my Windows fix for playing games off GOG, I'm not even going to pretend that if I'm looking at getting my game on properly, namely Anno, then I need to get back to embracing the PC life. I've ordered a Dune Pro case (https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/dune-pro-pc-case#/), and have no issues with putting it together, but being an Apple whore, I want to try to make the case look legit (I mean, as legit as putting together a fake Mac Pro can be). I'm also in the midst of waiting on parts to arrive for a fake screen make (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hzTVe6aVgww) To mirror the look of a Mac Pro, I want to etch an Apple logo into the side panels of the case, though I have no experience at all in doing this. While I do restoration work, would acid etching even be feasible for a clean and consistent result, or should I be looking at an alternate method, like laser etching? Sorry, I'm clearly out of my depth on this, so any and all suggestions are welcome! And yes, I do waffle on in my comments!

Recently I decided to update my graphics card on the cheap so I decided to go with an rx 480 8gb I bought it off of ebay started it up everything was fine except the fan speed of the gpu is very slow around 800rpm too slow so i tried to increase its speed through radeon settings that didn't work so I cleaned it out and tried again still too slow , so I put a bit of load on it and the card got really hot really quick just wondering what the problem could be as there isnt any noticeable fan noise coming from the card itself

sff Small Form Factor PC Planning, Cooling, Mods, Tips
reCAPTCHA posted a topic in Guides and Tutorials
Small Form Factor PC’s can be somewhat powerful and very small nowadays, but there are always tradeoffs. They're tough to build in, hard to plan, often limit cooling, and are hard to silence. These tips are based on my experience with a Fractal Design Node 202 Case for ~2 years; this isn't comprehensive and I'm no expert, but I never found all these things together when I went looking, so I decided to put this together. This is also my first post besides bricking a motherboard with bad cooling (See Cooling>Ducting for what I’ve learned, I stress tested my new setup A LOT and found the culprit). Planning General Modding Cooling -
Hello lovely people I'm obviously a tech fan, as i watch youtube channel every day and i'm posting on this forum. I am getting frustrated however at the number of games from which i am essentially barred due to my physical impairment. I am a wheelchair user who is able to use only one hand, so games like doom eternal or halfflfe alyx are completely beyond my capabilities (even if i had a fancy vr setup). The game however that really interests and excites me is factorio. I've tried starting a number of times using autohotkey to move the little guy around, but i do not get very far as i have to fight my body just to do the basics, rather than think about design. Do any of you know of the best mod combo that could help me get the most from the game? If it helps, i'm using a steelseries rival 500 mouse with 15 buttons. As an aside, for anyone else only able to use one hand, imo this is the most accessible mouse on the market. Cheers. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Hi, I can’t seem to find these 2 mods, they are the one where you break a block and it gives you something random, and the other one is you can make armor and weapons out of anything. Can someone post a link to these mods for me?

I need help in finding a mod for minecraft that shows you how much basic crafting components you need for a more complex one - e. g. 2 planks for 4 sticks. I saw some people mentioning Applied Energistics 2, but it only shows it in some kind of machine, but I would like to have a non-machine bound way of doing that. I'm looking for 1.12 version for forge. Thx in advance.

I'm kind of a collector of older systems, and I have just gotten my hands on a Mac Mini G4. It works fine for the most part, but it's HDD is absolutely puny in my opinion (40 GB). I have looked online, and have found an option that allows people to take an NVME card and convert it into a PATA compatible drive. I also am thinking about replacing the Superdrive with an SSD to IDE converter and plopping a 250 GB Intel SSD drive in it. I don't know if this will work for the Mac at all. Has anyone tried this, and if so, is it even worth the trouble? I'm seriously modding out this system so the only thing I'm gonna be keeping the same is the OS and it's mainboards. System specs: 1 GB SD RAM 40GB Hitachi HDD (Wanting to replace with the NVME to PATA connector) Mobile IDE Superdrive (Wanting to replace with Intel SSD) Apple G4 PPC logicboard Model Number: A1103 (2005 Mac Mini)

So recently i have played ARK, Conan Exiles, RUST, Minecraft, PixARK, ATLAS, Creativerse, Dark And Light, Citadel, Forged In Fire, Medieval Engineers, Space Engineers, Trove, 7 Days To Die, Card Life. ARK was the closest thing with detailed building pieces, Second was Medieval Engineers, The issue with ARK is it is so horribly optimized even on a really good rig that it just buckles under itself after a while of building even a small structure, Medieval Engineers i thought would have been perfect for my *Medieval* Needs. Sadly there is a block limit even if you make the world flat, And 25 THOUSAND times larger than vanilla, So that was shot down too. Plus not a lot of good mods for it for building pieces wise. So now I'm back to square one, Regarding the last two games i mentioned i am looking for any and all Medieval like building games, Survival or not. Im more looking for MEDIEVAL style building if it helps.

Hi I'm UDONTO. And I'm asking for help.... For a friend who doesn't speak english. GTA V won't start for some reason. He just gets a message called "Kein Spielspeicher mehr. Bitte rebooten und das Spiel neu starten.". Which is german and means in english roughly "No game memory anymore. Please reboot and restart the game." I don't know what "game memory" means in english or german. We tried to change the language in windows to english so that we would get the english Error description. But that didn't work out. We just got a black screen for some seconds and no error description. Some YouTube tutorials have suggest him that we would have to install some kind of mod to get more "game memory" but that didn't work as well. My friend said there would be a limit of how many vehicles you can install as a mod into GTA V. I can't tell if that is true because well... I never installed a mod before. Please help.

So I’m well acquainted with doing a V Bios flash to unlock the 1.35V on the memory for my V56 but that has the unfortunate side effect of my card showing up as a V64 in 3D Mark, not helpful going for in-class high scores. Is there any way to push the Memory Voltage while still maintaining a V56 to 3d Mark? (I saw someone with a V56 pushing 1100MHz memory (in 3dmark) which i refuse to believe was done on 1.2V, since i was maxing out at 955MHz at 1.2V and 1180MHz on 1.35V... unless LN2 since HMB2 scales with temperature) Similarly, is there a way to push the max core voltage beyond the maximum allowed 1200mV? I know that LC bios’ allow up to 1250mV but again same issue with 3D mark plus i had some weird power or temp throttling feedback loop.

Hey all... on one of the recent LTT videos, Linus pulled out some old looking graphics card or something (can't remember) and it had that horrible old transparent blue acrylic fan on it.... that high school me thought was so cool and I used to mod my PSP with back in the day. Well, it got me all nostalgic. I was planning on building a new PC soon (current box still the first computer I ever built, original i7) and decided that I'd love to actually get as much of the old blue acrylic look as possible. I'm looking for any part suggestions. A whole case would be awesome, but what I've found so far doesn't look like it would hold up very well // lacks a lot of basic features I'd like. Has anyone seen anything on the market, case or otherwise, that would be great with this aesthetic? Reference
