If someone wins an international giveaway from a different country other than the US, do they need to pay money for the import taxes?

Hi there everyone! I've been a long time follower of LTT and all it's various affiliated groups and channels. I've listened to the Wan show a bunch and figured here might be a good place to ask some questions about tech. I've been following the release of the Galaxy S10 more closely than just about any other piece of tech, and am eager to make the upgrade from my Galaxy S8, which unfortunately has seen some severe screen burn-in. I've narrowed down the different devices and have decided that the standard S10 has the best price and features for what I'm looking for. I'm planning on waiting for the price to drop a tad bit, and for my contract with my S8 to end in the beginning of May, 2019. I am currently with Verizon. I'm a sucker for the color green. I've always purchased black or silver phones because most of the other available color options don't really appeal to me, but this year I am in love with the prism green model, but wouldn't you know it, it's not getting released in the United States. I was sorely disappointed, until I noticed that the international version of the prism green phone is available on Amazon, and a good bit cheaper than the US version, no less. I've done some research on GSM, CDMA, and all the details of buying an unlocked international phone, and I can't seem to make heads or tails of whether or not this phone will actually work with Verizon. I've looked at forums where a lot of people say it will work, but might not work in certain areas. I've contacted Samsung twice. One representative said it would work, one said it wouldn't. Verizon said they would need to check the IMEI, but expects that it would work. I'm still not really sure who to believe. There is also the question of whether or not I would receive a warranty. I do tend to take good care of my phone, so I'm not super worried about it breaking, but I have had Samsung replace my AKG earbuds that are included twice already with my S8, because they tend not to hold up for more than a few months. I'd hate to see my new ones break and not be able to get them replaced/fixed. All in all, is it worth it to get the better deal on the international phone, and to get it in green? Or should I play it safe and get the black version from Verizon? Would appreciate any insight on this, or any opinions related to the idea in general. Much appreciated! For reference, this is the model I am looking at: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07NZVRK97?pf_rd_p=c2945051-950f-485c-b4df-15aac5223b10&pf_rd_r=4R0B89GFSFGPGF07GZTR

Hey Guys, I always wondered what is beer like in other regions of the world (The US etc.). How expensive or inexpensive is beer and how much is in a bottle? Here in Germany, especially in Bavaria, we're usually drinking our "Seidla" (0.5 liters) or our Maß (1 liter).

Hey guys I wanted to know if anybody knew about a Freegeek-like shop in the Gold Coast/Brisbane, Australia area. Google comes up with regular computer repair and sale shops (which are significantly out of my budget). Feel free to add any other locations/names of charity computer shops in major cities worldwide (or, if this has been done already, link me to the post).

Anyone here living in the Philippines? Got some things to ask about since I'm really having a hard time getting an item in Amazon cause it doesn't ship here in our country. Specifically a Z170 Motherboard and some other peripherals that I need. In any case do you know a place or a legit website that I can order securely and convenient? PS: I mostly used Amazon to somehow help LMG fund their stuff since I really love their content.

I am building a computer and was curious, because I will be buying my parts in the United States, but will bring them back to Europe. I already have a power supply that I bought in Europe and was curious if it would damage my components? If i use a power supply from Europe with American bought components will it fry the components? the power supply I have is the Corsair RM850i. Thx in advance!

Hey guys, So in the coming months, my wife and I are moving from London, England to Austin, Texas. While super excited about the move (hurrah for relatively cheaper tech!), I'm more than mildly concerned about the shipping of my current rig. You can see the pictures of the internals over in the link in my sig, but the crux of it is as such: Corsair Air 540 Case Corsair H110i GT Water Cooler MSI GTX 970 Twin Frozr GPU x1 WD Green drive, x1 WD Black drive x1 Intel 535 SSD, x1 Samsung EVO 850 SSD My two main thoughts at the moment are to either send this rig over in pieces (I've most of the original components boxes), or to pack the chasis with cardboard and non-conductive padding, and ship it over as is (with the HDDs in some sort of shock proof box separately). Like I said, I'm at a loss here, and any advice would be amazing! Cheers all, Justin

Since I live in Albania and pretty much no one ships here or the shipping is way too costly I was thinking if I could find a site that I can send the pc parts list or something and I would pay some extra money for them to build it and have them send it to a relative of mine in new york and then they can bring it here.Anyone knows any site like that ? or if not I would appreciate a site with cheap international shipping.

Hi, My name is Dante. I was born and raised in Argentina and I'm 26 years old. I just wanted to post a little thread about how hard it is for "non first world" people to build their dream PC, at a reasonable price. Let me give you a small example. You'll see my setup (of which I'm very proud of) attached, and how much I invested in building it. For comparison, minimum wage here in Argentina is 620 USD more or less (as of January 2016). Of course I didn't pay for them in US dollars, but they were converted from ARS (Argentine Peso) with the dollar quote at the moment of purchase. As you'll see, that's not a terribly powerful PC. It could even fall in the category of budget build. I've seen lots of people on the internet building setups very much like my own, but not spending more that 5 or 6 hundred USD. I don't even want to think what my setup could be if I lived at another country and spent the same amount of money. I don't want to make the thread too long. But I do want to hear your stories. Perhaps you could share your builds like I did, and tell the world how much harder you had to work to have what you have. Cheers!

http://www.cnet.com/news/sprint-to-offer-free-international-data-roaming/ Sprints launch a new International Value Roaming, which let you roam data only in the 15 countries that are listed by Sprints. This was announced on Friday. 15 Countries -Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Germany, Guatemala, Japan, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Russia, South Korea, Spain and the UK. Travelers can now check email, Facebook, Twitter and do everything else at no additional cost in Latin America, Europe and Japan. Sounds great to me!! People with this International plan will get free text and unlimited data roaming up to 2G Speeds. But phone calls will cost 20 cents per minute in the countries listed. According to Cnet, the new International offer is similar to a plan in October 2013 that introduced by T-mobile. Both companies introduced these new exciting plan to make them more appealing than ATT and Verizon. If you choose the International plan by Sprints, you'll have to stick with the 2G networks, even in the U.S. If I got that wrong please corrected in the comment section. If you want the fast 3G connections, you can purchase $15 for 100mb on a one day pass, $25 for 200mb on 7 days, and $50 for $500 on 14 days which is two weeks. One lucky thing that they do not charge for over-use the fast paid data, they just converted it back to the 2G speeds. Sprints will also allow calling on the Wi-Fi Hotspot while going overseas with no charge when you are calling to U.S, Puerto Rico number. Will this plan fit me? The answer will be no because I can't stand 2G networks and I don't travel much. Give Me Some Feedback.

Hi, I am planning on ordering the Oppo Find 7 online. I live in Vancouver BC, Canada and am subscribed to the Telus carrier. There are two options on oppostyle.com: the US and international versions. Because this is my first time ordering a phone off contract, I want to make sure that the phone I want actually works with my carrier. The US version apparently is the only version with a North American wall charger, while the international one has an Asian/European plug. Would the US version work in Canada or will I need to buy the International Version? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Hello forum! My question is very straight forward: What's the best online shop you know to buy PC Parts for a gamer PC with the ability to ship internationally? (More specifically with the ability to ship to Mexico). Also, -if possible- why do you think your option is the best? Accepting all info, even the ones with tremendous shipping prices. I'm this desperate. Thanks a lot!

Hey guys! So I'm currently building my brother a microatx PC which will mostly be used for gaming and Solidworks/Matlab simulations for college. However I was stuck when it came to deciding on a cooler since we travel internationally when we go home (being international students) and tend to take our pcs with us. I didn't want to use a tower cooler like the Noctua's or be quiet!'s since i don't want the cooler's weight to physically stress the motherboard since airport staff don't really take the fragile stickers too seriously... I got around it with my pc by using a corsair h100i, so only the pump stays attached. I remove my GPU whenever flying. So that leaves me with either a 120mm AIO liquid cooler or a low profile cooler. I could use an h80i, but since I'm using a SIlverstone SG09 case, I've heard some folks having GPU clearance issues resulting in moving the GPU to a lower PCI slot. My other option was to use Noctua's NH-L9i. I most likely will only overclock to 4.0Ghz at most, since any additional juice isn't really needed, I was wondering if I should just go with the NH-L9i. Unless you have any info of someone successfully using a 120mm AIO liquid cooler in the SG09/SG10. Also if you have time, I was wondering if you have any good recommendations for a PSU that is compatible with the SG09, since the internal cable is rotated 180 degrees to the PSU's socket, which will result in a lot of twisting of the cable. Refer this forum link towards the bottom: http://www.overclock.net/t/1327623/build-log-silverstone-sg09-micro-atx-sff-powerhouse Here's the build: http://pcpartpicker.com/user/colflame/saved/VhdMnQ Thanks for an advice and help! And hope you have a great Thanksgiving Day!

I have looked around and can't seem to find a 32GB Samsung Galaxy S5 from any US carrier. I have looked at some international phones but they have the Octa core processor not the snapdragon 801. Does anyone know where to get an international unlocked S5 that is the same as the US version but just 32GB?
