Hi all. So I'm looking for some kind of a KVM but the ones I saw do not fit my needs. I'm looking for some USB switch which I can connect to 2 computers A PC and a MAC So the export ports need to be type-c And for input ports I need 4-5 USB 3 connection and 1-2 type-c inputs, as I need to connect a web-cam as well. So for inputs Usb 3 Mouse Keyboard Garmin watch Cellphone Extra port for some usb mass storage Type-c Logitech webcam And one extra port just in case The ones I saw have little amount of inputs and the output always usb and hdmi etc which I do not need. Any suggestion for a device that can solve my issue? thanks in advance for the help

I bought a new case, mostly for airflow concerns (Silverstone RL06). The front three fans go into a fan splitter, which I thought was a controller hub. A way for all my fans to go into it and then control all my fans separately, but it's not what I thought. There's one wire coming out of it, but it's like a 4 pin connector going to a Molex connector, which I had a cable from my PSU. So basically, the fans are powered up 100% all the time, no control. I bought a Corsair RGB fan controller hub, thinking I can plug all my fans into it and then connect that to my motherboard. The only connector on the hub is a sata power cable, which I assume is still just power and going to power them 100% again. Did I buy the wrong thing, do I need to buy something else with or buy something completely different? Corsair fan controller Attached is the splitter in the case currently

I am at the verge of purchasing an iPad Pro 12.9 (3rd Generation) 2018; because I know the 2020 model doesn't have many significant upgrades in addition to price. However, I had some concerns pertaining to its I/O V.S. the iPad Pro 2020. I am a University Student and purchasing for note-taking (Notability and with Apple Pencil), media consumption and occasional video editing (LumaFusion). I came across this USB-C Hub (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07M8QR83T/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_5?smid=ALKJOI57VEXOD&psc=1) and wanted to know if the iPad Pro 2018 has I/O restrictions as opposed to the iPad Pro 2020. With this hub, would I really be able to connect an ethernet, HDMI, mouse, keyboard, HDD and 3.5mm audio jack simultaneously? Would all components function in the iPad Pro 2018?

Im currently switching from my pc to a macbook as my daily driver as I no longer have time for gaming and im trying to figure out one issue. My current setup is a PC connected to a 144hz 1440p gaming monitor via DP (which can also run properly on HDMI 2.0 afaik) and a 4k 60 hz TV via HDMI and i would like to still use them with my mac (monitor for work and TV for media consumption) but the problem is M1 supports only one external display. So I would like to have a device that supports switching between target displays via a button most preferably built in to a thunderbolt/usbc hub. Do such hubs exist? I know i could just switch cables depending on which display I want to use but I would like to have the best possible solution to my problem. Ive also seen some KVM hubs but im not sure if this solves my issue or if im gonna overspend on hardware features Im not gonna use. I know things like Ugreen HDMI splitter exist but i would like to have it built in to my hub so that I dont have a cable mess on my desk. So if anyone has anything to recommend Id be glad to read through your suggestions.

I just bought a lenovo thinkpad E15 gen3 It's a really good laptop , but has a major flaw : Only 1 USB C for both charging and data with no dedicated charging port , meaning if you're charging your device there's no other USB C port available I have a SSD external drive that I would like to use while charging. I've looked into hubs that has multiple USB C but they are very expensive and BULKY (with a lot of ports that i don't need) Basically I need a USB C hub with just 2 USB C out ports (can't find any anywhere) So i thought of this solution : Buy a USB C hub with just 4 USB A ports (simple small and very cheap) and then add 2 USB A to USB C adapters ! I don't know if this would work and if it won't fry my pc so I'm afraid to test for myself Any one has enough expertise to be sure if this is safe or not and if it will work at all ?

Hey, Looking for advice to acheive this setep. Currently I have two spaces in my home, one for work laptop and one for personal/gaming. I want to merge into a mega desk setup. I need a hub that I can have my main desktop always plugged into, and another USB-C cable free to plug in a portabal device. And be able to toggle between the two devices, so basically like a KVM... As I have a Mac, DisplayLink technology is not really an option. The driver support is bad! Probably Apple's fault haha. Much rather native support like a simple USB Hub does. But from what have read, "Alt Mode"? is ok? I have done research, however I havent been sold on anything. Either not enogh product info, or uses DisplayLink. Work provided me with this -> https://www.wavlink.com/en_us/product/WL-UG69PD2_WL-UG69PD2_Pro.html Its fairly mediocer, half the time devices stop working after waking from sleep. And as it used DisplayLink, its a pain in the ass on Mac. Thats why I am after something more native. Just a Roided up USB-C hub basically with x2 device options I thought to make things easier, and broarden the options. I could have a Dock and KVM seperate. The USB-C output of the dock woult go into the KVM and the KVM would have x2 USB-C outputs. But I am not sure of that will start bringing in possible complication with all the passthrough. The device support is already a tall list haha. The list of peripherals USB-A KB / Mouse USB-A HeadSet USB-C WebCam DP 4k Monitor - It can go upto 144hz for gaming, but willing to hang up the cape and say goodbye to competitive FPS gaming if it means I can bring all me devices together. HDMI 1080p monitor x2 USB-C Drawing table/screen (optional) AUX Speaker (otpional) Optical cable (optional) boosts my headset quality but not required Spare USB input for randome things like game controller or thumb drive. (optional) USB-C 100w power passthrough for portable diveces (optional) Devices Battle Station - Windows Desktop Dev Laptop - Mac M1 Air Work Laptop - Lenovo Thinkpad Thanks

Hi guys, I'm planning to build a pc with 10 ARGB fans(Deepcool CF120) and 1 Cpu cooler(Coolermaster MA620M). Firstly, I need a hub to connect all the ARGB and PWM connectors together, but there aren't much ARGB and PWM Hub with 10 or more connectors of argb and pwm each on it. Secondly, How does a Hub actually works? Some says the sata or something, is sata coming from the power supply or the motherboard, and after i connect the sata from somewhere to the hub, i have heard that i need to connect another cable from the hub to the motherboard, how does it really works???? So i'm getting a ARGB and PWM hub, but not much manufacturers have 10 argb and pwm connectors hub, can someone suggest one to help me? How does a hub works? where does it connect from(motherboard or psu) and where does it connect to(motherboard which connector or pin or something)? FYI, i'm getting Asus TUF GAMING X570-PLUS (WI-FI) and Lian Li O11D case. Wish to hear your reply soon, thanks!

Hey! Im new in the forums im hoping this is the right sub to ask this. I've a dual monitor setup, right now I have my Desktop PC connected to them. However I would like to use my laptop in my setup too, by extending the laptop screen to the 2 other monitors. My laptop has 2 video outputs: 1 x HDMI & 1 x Mini Display. The monitors im using have a HDMI input & a HDMI or VGA (DSUB) Is there a device or hub that I can connect to switch between my PC & my laptop? Or am i stuck with having 2 switches for each monitor? Hope I was clear enough. Thanks in advance!

Hi! I have some questions about fans I ordered : https://www.amazon.ca/-/fr/gp/product/B07KYDKSBF/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_image_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I am wondering if the fans will automaticly start when I start my computer or if I will allways need to do the on and off button on the remote controler, because these fans use a hub. My motherboard is : https://www.asus.com/ca-fr/Motherboards/PRIME-Z270-A/ Is there anyway I can plug the hub or the fan to the motherboard so the fans will speed up or down? Thanks to anyone that can help me!

Ok so I have an older Mobo I am putting in a new case for someone they want RGB but the board lacks any onboard headers for such... I'm not really an RGB guy so I never looked for a controller that wasn't built into the board.. Is there any decent one that can plug into an internal USB 2.0 header to allow software RGB control for a generic case and fans?

Does a "Wireless USB Hub" exist? It kind of look like a wireless mouse but it's purpose is a USB extender

Hey everyone, So I just got my XPS 13 2-in-1 and it is awesome. I got a USB C hub and I cant get the computer to see my mouse or keyboard when i plug them in. It can see an eternal hard drive and other comptuters/my phone can see the mouse and keyboard when i plug them into the hub. It only happens with my new computer for some reason. I am not sure if it is a problem with drivers or what. I have uninstalled the drivers and reinstalled several times. No luck. If someone knows what might be causing this or what i can do to fix it, please let me know Thanks!

Hi I couldn't find anything helpful on the web so I want to ask here. I bought an USB Hub which is connected to my laptop (MSI GL65 95E) by USB-C, link here: USB Hub. All usb 3.0 in this adapter works, but when i plug my monitor (ASUS VZ249HE Ultra-Slim) to HDMI port in this adapter, there is no display. When I plug this monitor directly into HDMI port in my laptop, it works, so HDMI cable and monitor are fine. I thought that USB Hub is broken so I got second one, but still, no display on HDMI. I tried updating drivers, not worked. I tried this hub on 3 different monitors, 2 hdmi cables, 2 laptops, but i can't get this working. Windows updates also didn't worked. Currently I am on KB4497165. I bought it to add second external monitor to my laptop, so using only HDMI port in my laptop isn't solution. On screenshot below i marked this hub with yellow highlight, just to be sure that system "see" this device and usb-c port. P.S. Sorry for bad grammar, as you can see on screenshot, english is not my main language. If something is not clear, I will try to explain it better or provide more informations.

Hello there I am looking for a USB-C active hub and have trouble finding any. My use case: i have a single USB-C port on the back of my motherboard (no clue which gen anymore due to the idiotic naming schemes of USB, but it's a newer one) and I'd like to connect an active USB hub to that which would make access easier and allow more than one t5 ssd to be connected. My problem is that I can't seem to find any. What I am looking for is pretty much this: but instead of all connectors being USB type A, I'd need them to be type C, as well as the input connection to be type C as well. Hope this is clear Do hubs like that even exist? Thanks a bunch in advance.

Hey Guys, Ive tried a couple of USB-c type dongles with my Razer Blade Stealth and none of them seem to pass through power for charging. Since i need a couple more of usb ports i really would like to take advantage of the thunderbolt port while still being able to charge it. Isn anyone aware of a dongle that would work with the Stealth since all the Macbook dont seem to work. Thanks so much..

I want to get a USB 3.0 hub that's powered (4 or more ports). I want it to fit in the space under my monitor (about 1" or so). I would use the hubs on my monitors, but I destroyed the hub on one of my monitors and the other hub is not plugged in (the way I have my monitors set up, I don't have a long enough cable to reach my desktop). Any suggestions?

So, I have 4 USB ports on my laptop, 2 USB 3.0 and 2 USB 2.0. I use my laptop as a desktop replacement so I need more than 4 ports. A while ago I bought this cheaper powered 4-port USB 2.0 hub (with external power), but if I plug in anything to more than 2 ports on it, the hub disconnects and windows gives me an error along the lines of "Usb device malfunction, not enough power something something" even though the USB hub is plugged in to AC power. I've tried plugging the USB hub into each of the 4 ports on my laptop. Why happen? Or is it just a shitty USB hub?

Hey, I have asked myself: Do your Fans Spin at the displayed Speed when plugged in with a 2 to 1 PWM Split Cable (or PWM Fan Hub), or do you have to compensate for two fans on one Header? There are 2 ways Fans are powered: By Changing the Volts or through a PWM Header, which controls the Fans with pulse width modulation. By now, most Fans are PWM (and the question is about PWM) controlled My assumption: You don't have to compensate for it, because the fans are PWM controlled, where no extra Volts have to put through for more power.

I'm looking for a USB hub for some extra stuff as I only have 3 free ports. The only problem is that I would either be running keyboard and mouse through it, or a MIDI keyboard, all of which needs as little latency as possible. Looking around on the internet has had little yield, so this is my second option. My computer has thunderbolt support which I'm using for monitors, but there will still be plenty of space for several other thunderbolt devices, so maybe a USB hub connected via thunderbolt would work? Searching for one didn't help though as everything that came up was either a thunderbolt dock which have far more than is needed, or an adaptor that is either one thunderbolt to one USB, or just a regular USB hub. So does anybody know of such a thing? And what would you recommend? I need an extra 3 or 4 ports at the most. Thanks for any help.

Hi Everyone, I need to connect multiple "high" bandwidth devices to a computer for simultaneous use. All the devices are USB 2.0 but use a lot of bandwidth (some storage devices, cameras, etc.). Together they will probably use more than the 480mbps the USB 2.0 spec provides. This is one of the reasons why I'm looking at getting a USB 3.0 hub to plug everything into. But it's mainly because it's a 3.0 port they will be sharing. However, I wasn't sure if this would work in reality. Will a 3.0 hub be able to provide a 5.0gbps backbone that the USB 2.0 devices can share and tap into simultaneously (each at their max 480mbps)? Similar to how a 10gbps uplink port would function on a 1gbps network switch? Or will the whole setup be limited by the slowest member (effectively making it a 2.0 hub)? Here's a (horrible) paint image to try and illustrate my question. Thanks.

Hi, I recently bought a laptop with a USB 3.1 gen 2 connector. I'm now looking for a good hub solution for my desk. I have a monitor, keyboard and mouse. The problem is I can't seem to find a USB C hub with a displayport and at least two USB connectors. Has anyone here any experience with these adapters or hubs? Also I considered connecting multiple adapters, so from usb C to usb 3.0 + usb c and then another usb c to display port. Would that work? One last thing, My budget isn't that high, so most docks are out of the picture. (50-ish $) Thanks,

I have a laptop with only 2 USB (both 3.0), and was thinking to get a hub. I need to connect 4 peripherals: 1. Steelseries Rival 100 Gaming Mouse. 2. Standard USB Keyboard (Willing to upgrade to Steelseries Apex M400 Mechanical Gaming Keyboard or Steelseries Apex M500 Mechanical Gaming Keyboard). 3. Steelseries Siberia 150 Gaming Headset. 4. Toshiba Canvio 1TB External Hard Drive. And I was wondering if I could connect all of them to only one port through the hub. My intended purchase is the following, because I don't have much money to spend, and in Argentina a powered USB 3.0 hub is quite expensive. Anker Ultra Slim 4-Port USB 3.0 Hub Will it work? Or will I have to connect the HD in one port and the other peripherals in the HUB?

So I was looking around on Aliexpress today, since they are having a ginormous annual sale on 11.november . (I highly suggest to look for some cool thingies to buy from there, they are cheap AF.) I wanted a USB hub with an ability to add additional power to it with a 5V DC power adapter, which makes sense. I have a Patriot Fuel 4 port USB charger ordered and will go get it tomorrow because I am getting some more stuff that I will need to charge blah blah blah. I was thinking that instead of buying a 5V DC power adapter and using up another outlet of my power brick, I would use one of the charger's ports to provide additional power to the USB hub by a USB to DC power cable which are also on Aliexpress (those guys seem to make everything you can think of... in sane margins of course... sometimes). Both of them are based on 5V and the charger outputs maximum of 2A, so I don't think that should be a problem, am I right?
